There's a paved walking path where people are taking a stroll, walking their dogs, or practicing Tai Chi if you happen to be there in the morning. With tons of green, there's also a good amount of people picnicking and frolicking. I love that there's a rim of water that lines the park. It really adds to the serene vibe and is home to plenty of cute ducks. Absolutely love this park! I almost always choose to walk through the park if the route I'm on permits it :)

I highly recommend parking in the Macy's garage or any of the garages near Nordstrom, as they're only about a five-minute walk and super convenient. Parking is free and generally easy to find, though the structures can sometimes close when they're completely full. Even then, there are plenty of other garages nearby that are still within a short and easy walking distance. I absolutely love downtown Bellevue, it's one of my favorite places to visit because of the great food, drinks, and overall atmosphere. Bellevue Downtown Park is amazing for so many reasons. The grass is very well maintained, making it perfect for picnics or a relaxing walk. There's a beautiful fountain, small ponds throughout the park, and you'll often see ducks swimming around (though probably not during the colder season). In the winter, there's an ice rink, and during the summer it's especially lively with events like food festivals and farmers markets. I would definitely recommend stopping by Bellevue Downtown Park, especially if you have some downtime before a reservation, it's a perfect spot to walk around and enjoy the area.

The lakefront views are simply stunning, framed by gorgeous multi-million dollar homes that add to the serene, upscale feel of the area. It's a family-friendly haven, often filled with friendly ducks, children playing, and people enjoying the water. Whether you're into paddle boarding, boating, swimming, or just relaxing by the water, the park offers a wide range of activities--complete with clean shower and bathing facilities that make it incredibly convenient. I've often imagined hosting a wedding or special event here because the setting is just that beautiful, though I'm not sure if it's officially allowed. Regardless, this park holds a special place in my heart, and I will definitely be coming back again and again. It's a true gem that offers both peaceful retreat and vibrant recreation--perfect for all ages.

The trial winds through a few thickets, a small bog, a terrific stand of old growth firs and follows a brook that eventually becomes a glorified trench. Plenty of small wild life includes squirrels, rabbits, red-winged black birds, ducks, sparrows chickadees and woodpeckers. While a few signs warned of bob cat, mountain lion and bears (really, in Bellevue?) what I found in most proliferation was the wild and well coiffed Eastside MILF commonly found gazing in Bellevue, Issaquah and Redmond. Once the entire family met up, we climbed back into the car and headed to Bellevue. Not sur if it was due to the time. But we were surprised there was a lot of parking available. We spent a good 2-hrs here which included getting lost and finding other street entries into the botanical park from a school and from other busy street corner at the bottom of the park. Nice and shaded, quiet little creeks, plenty of seating for those that were inspired to journal, plenty of elderly people using this time to exercise and stretch. We enjoyed the different areas like the swinging bridge, the Japanese garden and even the little cafe they have there. Fairly priced items and plenty of tables to enjoy a refreshment and snack. By the time we were done, the gift shop was already closed. So I took the opportunity to drop a donation into the box instead.

It contains a floating pedestrian pier shaped like a crescent, docks, kayak renting, and a small gravel/sand beach. The bay was named after William Meydenbauer, one of the early settlers of Bellevue. The land was initially used as a landing site for a passenger ferry, and then became Bellevue's first public park in 1953. It was rechristened as the current name, Meydenbauer Bay Park, in 2019 with the addition of the Crescent Pedestrian Pier. As it often happens in the Seattle area, it was cold and rainy when we went so the beach goers were minimal, but could definitely see it being busy on a sunny day.

We discovered this place on accident, and have returned so many times that I've lost count. Most of the time it's not crowded, but the summer is busy with families swimming at the beach, picnicking with kids, and couples enjoying the warm sun and numerous lookout points. The surrounding trails are a fun escape and easy to find. They have benches scattered throughout so if you want to sit and relax to soak in the sun's rays, you can do that too. Most aren't strenuous or long, perfect for a casual stroll. Above the beach area is a good-sized lawn area that gives a birds eye view of the Lake, and designed for a picnic. Pre-COVID, this spot had to be reserved and there are posted placards with instructions on how to do so. Since then, that has been banned. Parking is plentiful, though gets a bit tougher to find when the weather is nice. If you need ADA accessible parking, there are a small number of spots on the lower side of the park. You will need to hang a left off 98th that leads you to a small entrance so keep an eye out for that. Restrooms are clean, plenty of picnic tables for social distancing, and my perfect hideout to enjoy the quiet in the city. Highly recommend paying a visit, but be respectful of surrounding neighbors as this is a private residential area as well.
