BOTANICAL GARDEN @ BELLEVUE Parking is available right out front, which makes this place super accessible. There are also designated handicap parking spots. My friend and I visited on a Friday around 2 PM, and there were a few spots open, so getting in was really easy. I loved how simple everything was to navigate, there's even a map available when you enter. Entry and parking are both completely free, which is a huge plus. We walked along the trail and I'd recommend spending about 2-3 hours here if you want to take your time and fully enjoy it. We had to speed-run our visit because we had another errand afterward, but it was still incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend stopping by the bridge, it was very therapeutic and relaxing to walk across. There are plenty of benches and seating areas along the way, perfect for taking breaks or just soaking in nature. The quality of the space is amazing, with a wide variety of rocks, trees, and scenery that make the whole experience feel peaceful. There are also bathrooms located at the front, and you're never too far from other people, which made it feel comfortable and safe. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping by this place. read more

This free botanical garden in Bellevue is amazing and I can believe it when people consider it the highest rank touristy thing to do here. Parking is easy and the lot is adjacent to the entrance. There are nice dedicated trails to different "ecosystems", including a Japanese garden. You can take a little trek to the suspension bridge which my husband enjoyed jumping up and down on. We did show too early for the Garden D'lights exhibit, which doesn't start until Thanksgiving week. Would visit again. read more

Been a minute since I've been here. Needed some nature so decided to pop over. Beautiful gardens and trails. Easy going walking and lots of interesting signage to provide information. Seems the garden is stuck in between winter and spring. The faux spring in January maybe affected the blooms. Still a gorgeous garden to visit. High quality flowers and beautiful plants. thank gosh for easy parking here. Right by a Chinese school, so watch out for pedestrians during school hours. Could not find any staff that working here, so that is why my rating is not as high. but, the flowers were very beautiful to look at with the description boards being big enough for multiple people to read at the same time. I wish there was more information on why each flower got its name because I saw one called "Army Nurse" and was confuzzled why. Perfect place to kill time, or spend all day! We had some time to spare before our jam-packed day: waiting for hotel room to open up, waiting for our Boeing Factor Tour in Everett, waiting for Von's 1,000 Spirits to open up in Woodinville before we went on our Chateau Ste Michelle winery wine tasting, so we stopped here. Free admission, or donation. Lots of parking, come early, it fills up. Nice sunny areas, shady areas if you so wish. Themed gardens that are well-maintained, clean bathrooms and nice, friendly and helpful staff. Great botanical garden so close to downtown Bellevue and free! They have a great variety of plants and flowers and the trails are easy to navigate and clearly marked. There is even a cool suspension bridge that goes over a small ravine, as well as a Japanese garden - not as nice as the one in the arboretum but this one is free! There's also a great coffee shop, the Copper Kettle, in the garden as well as a small, cute gift shop. Only downer is that the parking lot can get very crowded on the weekends, and the parking spots are a bit tight. But otherwise, it's a great spot to spend an hour or two. read more

Garden d'Lights is volunteering driven and they have done an amazing job. Well lit pathways and a great display of various themes including an underwater theme. One has a peaceful structure where you can rest, another goes through colorful fall foliage (at least when I was there a few weeks ago), and others lead you straight into the mossy forest. The Bellevue Botanical Garden is well maintained for a free garden. They have several varieties of flowers that flourish well in the PNW, many of which I cannot see in my desert state. My husband and I thought this garden reminds us of the walking gardens in Japan, namely the one next to Himeji Castle. If you like taking long walks in nature on a paved path, this is perfect. This gem is tucked away in the hills of Bellevue, WA. I spent a relaxing morning walking through many trails. The garden was quiet and so peaceful. Water is featured in several locations, which only adds to the charm. I still only scratched the surface as the property is quite large. Entry is free to the public. You can walk to the gardens. What a hidden gem! First time coming here and will be back everytime I visit Seattle! Apparently this garden has 53 acres of cultivated gardens, woodlands, and natural wetlands. There is so much to see, feel, and smell. I love the feel this place gives me and it makes me feel just so peaceful! The visitor center has a nice giftshop where you can find some good treasures. The visitor center also has an outdoor covered space where guests can visit and there's even meeting or event rooms that you can rent. Very nice, clean, modern look for sure. Their apline rock garden and dahlia gardens are spectacular. Some of the hydragena flowers were the same size of my head! The Yao Japanese garden was nice and very zen! There are guided tours available and there's even info on healthy gardening and plant practices. What's great is that this part is open daily with free admission! Plently of parking out in the front and plenty of staff around to ask questions about plants or trees. I highly recommend coming here and spending a full day here as there's just so much to see and explore! Good for the soul! read more

Came on an early Thursday morning before it got warm and was blown away at the flowers that are still in bloom , the trail was quiet and peaceful. Even took a little sidequest and got "lost" in the Forrest the trails are easy to read, an easy path and leads you to a beautiful bridge that I highly suggest if you're a lil adrenaline junky. The Garden of Lights display provides night entertainment for all ages. The gardens are filled with light displays of animals and insects: land, sea, and air! Buying the timed tickets online saves waiting in line at the entrance and ensures admittance. The walkways are wide: wide enough for people who want to stand, take photos, etc. and for people who want to walk past. The directional arrows help at intersections. The warming hut about 2/3 in came at the perfect time for a respite from the cold. While the hot cocoa was a bit pricey ($4.03), it was tasty and even had whipped cream on it! I often enjoy visiting this beautiful park in the summer! So many incredibly beautiful flowers and plants to come see blooming! It's become a tradition to come down here to have a lunch and walk around the gardens. Every time I visit I enjoy finding something new! And it free! I also really enjoy the garden de lights in the winter! So fun to come and see! In addition to the beautiful sparkling scenes there is hot cocoa and gingerbread houses. Wonderful family activity! Another thing I enjoy about the gardens is the lovely coffee shop. I really love that they serve Cafe Ladro beans! Everything I've had there is fabulous! One thing I do wish was that there would be some more botanists to talk with. But I believe this is a volunteer run garden so I really can't expect that to be a reality. During our visit it was a bit on the busy side as it seems to be a hot spot for wedding, engagement, and family photos but the space is quite large and spacious, absolutely bursting with flowers, trees, and fountains. I was incredibly surprised at how pretty it was, especially since I was vastly underwhelmed by most of the other parks and green areas we had visited in Bellevue. While visiting, we had a couple hours to spare and decided to visit the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Completely shocked that there is no entrance or parking fee to this beautiful garden! We didn't walk the entire garden but walked through to the Suspension Bridge which was quite cool to see. The path is mainly a dirt gravel so prepare to have dust left behind on your shoes. We pushed a stroller through which was a little bumpy but manageable. There were two tables outside the entrance to eat or hang around. Benches scattered around the gardens if you want to sit and admire the nature surrounding you or take a break. Awesome place to visit! read more

Even tho all the plants were basically gone for the season, it was still such a fun and pretty walk. It's completely free besides during the light shows during winter which is inexpensive in itself. I absolutely love this place! Not a place to skip when you're visiting this area! Free parking and free entrance! The trails are easy and well-defined and can spend one or two hours enjoying the views of the forest and garden. The garden is well-maintained, and I saw a guy blowing the leaves one morning as I was walking by. Pets are not allowed, so the garden is free from dog poop. There are plenty of spider webs though as you walk into the very quiet areas in the morning. I also saw a random deer, but I didn't have enough time to take a picture. There are plenty of benches throughout the garden, so you can take a break if needed. The fun part is walking to the bridge and feeling it shake as you're walking across. The garden is beautiful and amazing! The flowers were in full bloom and a great sight to see. My favorite was the dahlias. Overall, you can tell that they really care about this garden by the maintenance and cleanliness of the garden and trails. It's worth the time to check this place out! read more

What a wonderful park, rolling trails, nice wide trails and so much to see. Waterfalls, bridges, incredible flowers, unique plants. There was a flower show the day we went, beautiful entries and friendly flower club people to answer questions. The garden offers regular guided tours, but you can roam on your own thanks to their detailed maps- one side of the map is dedicated to accessibility, so you can plan thoughtfully for anyone who needs flatter trails, etc. The park has tons of benches, lots of places to rest. Last but not least the best little gift shop-beautiful, high quality, unique items that are reasonably priced (including Boma brand earrings, which are incredibly comfy and hold up so well). Go to this garden, you won't regret it. It was pouring rain and we still had a blast (we only had lightweight cotton sweatshirts- we were not expecting rain!). read more

Additionally, we got a free tour, though our docent was newer and we didn't feel that they were particularly helpful or knowledgeable on things we were interested in (ie the trees or flowers).
