Great park down a VERY STEEP walkway ( you'll get winded going back up). There was lots of parking and two handicapped spots right near the sandy beach. The beach itself is somewhat small but two lifeguards were on duty on a Sunday. About 1/4 of the water had a lot of debris in it but the rest was nice. There are several grassy areas to enjoy and a nice paved walkway lined with fragrant flowers. Bathrooms, boardwalk and a free-standing dock are also included. A great free way to spend an afternoon. read more

Scattered among the sea of King County parks sits this beautiful and quaint spot that boasts some of the best views of Seattle over Lake Washington! We discovered this place on accident, and have returned so many times that I've lost count. Most of the time it's not crowded, but the summer is busy with families swimming at the beach, picnicking with kids, and couples enjoying the warm sun and numerous lookout points. The surrounding trails are a fun escape and easy to find. They have benches scattered throughout so if you want to sit and relax to soak in the sun's rays, you can do that too. Most aren't strenuous or long, perfect for a casual stroll. Above the beach area is a good-sized lawn area that gives a birds eye view of the Lake, and designed for a picnic. Pre-COVID, this spot had to be reserved and there are posted placards with instructions on how to do so. Since then, that has been banned. Parking is plentiful, though gets a bit tougher to find when the weather is nice. If you need ADA accessible parking, there are a small number of spots on the lower side of the park. You will need to hang a left off 98th that leads you to a small entrance so keep an eye out for that. Restrooms are clean, plenty of picnic tables for social distancing, and my perfect hideout to enjoy the quiet in the city. Highly recommend paying a visit, but be respectful of surrounding neighbors as this is a private residential area as well. read more

A hidden gem! There's a nice trail and several picnic spots along with a nice play structure surrounded by some good sand for the kids...this park is a little slice of heaven. The bathrooms are clean and the park is well-maintained. On clear days, you can look across the lake and see Seattle! read more

It was a warm weather late afternoon....I came to Chism Beach Park. Parkings are available. I walked bay side and saw few groups & couples picnic and walking with dog....everybody happy faces. I walked lakeside and took beautiful pictures. I wished I could walk more long lakeside but kinda short walk distanced. It's a nice to come here and sit lakeside and look at nice views or come with someone to picnic here. read more

Nice private beach between private neighborhoods. Small sandy playground with beach access and couple tables for picnic.

Went here to kayak with the solstice kayak. It was fun and beautiful. There is a restroom but it's far out so be prepared to walk around for one. The water current is pretty active. I would highly suggest a plastic kayak but, the inflatable will do if you are at your weight limit or under. read more

It looks close on the map, but that's not showing the contours. One of the pics I'm putting up is this part of the peninsula of Bellevue. If you live around Meydenbauer/Main Streets, walking there is a nice workout, for sure. (I'm fond of walks that have a "reward" at the end.) Relatively tiny park, compared to say Golden Gardens, but it's still attractive enough for people to have weddings there. And if you want a dock to boat off of, here you go. My favorite part about Chism Beach Park is that it's a hidden gem. Unless you're from the area or someone's spilled the beans you know about this place and when we finally get sun, this is one of the parks that come to mind to visit. It's located in the southwest part of Bellevue and when you drive there, you go through an older neighborhood, close to Old Bellevue and get an idea that these are the residents who visit this park. And that's always evident whenever I go here because the park is usually frequented by families. It's a nice park, with its biggest bonus being its located on the waterfront. You even see Seattle on clear days. I only wish it was bigger. This beach park is on the smaller side, so the place seems busier than actually is when you're there on sunny days, especially since the families and children stake out a place all around on the sand and lawn. There's also a small playground on the sand, hence the popularity for small children and families. So, imagine how busy it gets when it's sunny. But I suppose that's Seattle for ya - anytime there's sun the beach parks gets filled up quickly, so the same can be said here. Get here early if you want a place to lay out and chill for awhile. There are some trails, though not very long. There are also a few picnic tables, restrooms, park benches, a dock to swim off of, and a spacious private parking lot. However, this park does not allow dogs during the summer season (lame). Overall, it's a nice park to visit, particularly for families with small children. read more

This place is a jewel, it has the water, kids playground, water, and it's on the lake so there's water too. The grounds are beautifully kept, there are some trails through the small amount of woods that kids might enjoy exploring. Right now it is bursting with spring flowers.There is a bunch of parking and if you need ADA access you should be aware that there is a back entrance that allows handicapped to park right down near the water. The reason I like this is because it's a practically private oasis. I loved that the few times I went here that I was the only person there except my first visit a lady was letting her dogs play in the water. You can sit and have a picnic on the grassy area or you can just relax and watch the sunset. There isn't much else to do here but sit, read and relax and have a picnic. There is a small playground for kids. Like another reviewer has mentioned the bathrooms were not open so keep that in mind as you're hydrating. If I'm back in Seattle I will visit again. Although what I hear from locals during the summer this park is a bit more packed. There is also a lifeguard on duty for the swimmers. There is a lower parking lot for those who need handicap access. read more

This might be the biggest beach in the Enatai neighborhood. It's a really nice clean one with a very large parking lot, multiple grassy areas, and a fair sized sandy beach with a kids play toy. It also has a dock and picnic tables! Beautifully landscaped. It can get really crowded on nice days, as do all Bellevue beaches and parks. I've had a couple weird experiences here such as a creepy old man who hit on my friends and I. He wasn't actually scary and a nearby mom who saw it happen came over after to make sure we were okay. Could have (and does) happen anywhere, but it happened here that time. Another time my friend and I came here on a very overcast summer day, and literally no one was here. We decided to go sit on the dock (fully clothed) and chat a while. Despite our obvious lack of interest in swimming here, the lifeguard on duty followed us onto the dock and proceeded to stand right behind us. Awkward! We left after about 5 minutes of this. You probably won't get hit on here, and I'm sure that particular summer helper is gone. Give it a go! read more

This is a beautiful park for a picnic and swimming in the lake! I like the real sand beach a lot. Even though today was very hot and sunny, we had no problem getting a parking spot. Tucked away in a very quiet Bellevue neighborhood with gorgeous trees and landscaping, this park feels like a lakeside getaway, just a few minutes from the freeway! Note to those with access concerns: The path from the general parking lot down to the beach park is on quite a steep hill. There is also a handy, more-level path for easy wheelchair and stroller access to the beach, leading from the parking lot down to the beach. This path, however, is quite a bit longer than the steep hill. There is also a different entrance to the park at the lower level, which leads to several disabled parking spaces that are right next to the beach park (on the same level). However, I think I only saw two or three of those spaces, and they were full at the time I was there. It might be a little difficult for anyone who has difficulty walking, but is not in a wheelchair and does not have a disabled parking permit, to make it down to the beach. This was the case with one of my companions today, so I thought I would mention it, so that others would be informed. read more

There is the upper and lower parts of the park. For semi-private beautiful events, rent the upper portion. You will be surrounded by a woodland tree type of feel, yet you will have spectacular views of the lake. Parking is abundant, but you will also have the flat well-kept grassy lawn to set up in any way that you like. Many people are unaware of this little beach park, because it is in a residential area, down a steep hill. It's definitely one of Bellevue's best parks. read more

Chism Beach Park is a green beach like no other located not far from Downtown Bellevue. It is surrounded by beautiful nature. A well trained swimmer can cross to the other shore of the lake in no time. This is a good location for a barbecue or just to have fun with friends. Chism Beach is somewhat clean comparing to other beaches in the area. Many families come here to enjoy the sun and swim. read more

I came here with my 1 year old on a weekday afternoon for some sand and water fun. I'd come here again because the playground is on the sand so we don't have to choose between the two. However, I don't know if the steep hill is worth the tiny beach - definitely not if it's crowded. Pros: -good sand -play structure is great for young toddlers -play structure is right on the sand -plenty of parking based on the size of the beach Cons: -not easy to get to - the address took me to a different part of the park -extremely steep hill from the parking lot to the beach - my own parents and my inlaws would never make it back up. -water is so-so, there are clear parts and gross parts -limited amount of sand - kids get territorial about their sand area and it leaves none for the rest of us. read more

This review is more like 3.5 cause I like chums. It's right down the street from my buddies house and it's a great little place. However it doesn't have much going for it, the trail is small and dingy the bathrooms are always closed and if you have kids the park is less than impressive. The dock is nice enough to relax on and hangout. It's usually pretty close to me so I don't mind going to it for a walk but there's better options like Enatai nearby. I'm sure I'll be back sometime in the summer but once again so many options that are better than this. Feel free to come by here if you're in the area and make your own observations. read more

Great secluded sandy beach on lake Washington

Really, it should just be called Chism Park. If you're from a state with actual beaches like I am, lower your expectations, because this is not a beach. That being said, it is a nice place to come and relax. We didn't bother trying to sit on the couple of feet of sand that wasn't already overrun by children. There was plenty of grass available and some shady areas to move into when as it got warmer. Decent place for a picnic. read more

A hidden gem! A few roads up and down from downtown Bellevue lies this beautifully hidden beach park, on Lake Washington. Perfect to spend a warm summer afternoon if you love the sun. There are very few spots with shade, so it can get a little hot sometimes. As mentioned in earlier reviews, the path from the parking to the park is a little steep, but if my 50 year old friend with a stiff knee can make it down, and then back up, I think that shouldn't be a problem. From a few spots you get a good view of what I figured might be another park on the opposite end, in Mercer island. There are a couple of picnic tables, but you can definitely arrange your own picnic in case you don't get one. read more
