This was the earth wind n fire made as a banana waffle with walnuts, banana, honey and powdered sugar.

First off the place is way bigger than I expected and so cute with all of the artwork I wish I could have returned to experience the nightlife because I saw that they had a stage so I had the the earth wind n fire made as a banana waffle with walnuts, banana, honey and powdered sugar which was absolutely delicious. I also had a side of bacon but that was over done. I also had a drink which I can't remember what it was called, but I think mostly because the drink tasted like juice. It was like it had no alcohol in it. Other than that, I would absolutely return and try at least seven more items on the menu. It's so funny because I asked around for breakfast places and no one even mentioned this place. I just decided to Google my own places and go off my own judgment and ended up at this place and I am so glad I did when I come back to Syracuse I will be returning

Another Take Out Thursday If you asked me if I'd ever thought id have a chicken parm waffle id have been pretty sure id say no but I've never had funk n waffle so I figured if im gonna do this might as well go weird with it. The waffle is literally made of spaghetti like the pressed a pile of spaghetti into the waffle iron. The sauce is sweet with chunks of tomato which I like. The chicken parm piece was good but a little small. 2 entrees for $30 so reasonably priced. The people are very nice and thr various options mean of course we have to go back.

How have I been from here and even hung out at this place and just now finally ate here?! Absolutely delicious and kicking myself for not eating here sooner. So many delicious waffle combinations missed! Super nice staff at register, was kind and answered questions. Love how funky and hole in the wall it can feel here even though it's cleaner and more open than what I remember from "back in the day" on Marshall street. Loved my waffle and can't wait to come back for another one!

I have been wanting to try this place out for a long time. Never knew I was going to be in this area, but I had it on a list of places to try. I had seen it on Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives, I also saw the guys on Guy's Grocery Games, and I had a friend I formerly worked with that visited and raved about the food. Now I can say that I got the chance to try one of the waffles. I showed up after lunchtime and found the place nearly empty. I translated that to quick service and stellar experience. I had looked online before coming here but I still gave the menu a once over when I got to the place. I did this all at the counter and wouldn't you know it, someone walked in as I was looking at the menu. I ordered the Jive Turkey and an order of their Disco Fries. After ordering, I got my drink, was given a pager and told I could sit wherever I wanted. In time my buzzer would go off and I would just need to come grab my food. Pager went off, I go up and grab my food. Grabbed silverware and went to the table. I went back to grab napkins as well. Let's start with the fries. Disco Fries: fries, mashed potatoes, gravy, and bacon. I know, potatoes on potatoes, seems a bit overkill, but it was delicious. What pulls it all together is the gravy. I finished this while sitting there. No so lucky with the main course. Jive Turkey: stuffing waffle topped with mashed potatoes, smoked turkey, gravy, with cranberry sauce on the side. You can get this in quarter, half or whole. I went with whole, I shouldn't have, but I wanted to. I did end up taking what I didn't eat back with me, but when I dug into this, man...so good. Turkey day meal in a unique presentation. I made sure each bite I took had a bit of the cranberry sauce on it. Get the whole flavor experience in each bite. Totally a meal I could see myself getting each time I would visit here. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great options, but I could see myself getting this over and over again. The staff here, amazing as well. Greeted as soon as I came in. Making sure I had everything I ordered and needed. Thanked me on the way out multiple times. I would definitely be back if in the area.

Food/ wasn't for me I actually love trying different ways of food but a lot of things didn't add up My waffle was a bit hard and it didn't taste well with what I got The only thing that was taste was the turkey'But the whole thing didn't taste authentic enough for me Service was nice Ambiance calm cool and loud because ope lm mic next door I wouldn't revisit!

I would definitely go back to this restaurant. They family loved the food selections and recommendations by the cashier. Our meal was really good. Loved that it was attached right a music venue. It definitely added to the ambiance of the restaurant.

Yelp lead me to this amazing place. From the decor to the friendly people to the chicken and waffles! Superb!

We decided to get some yummy waffles before our flight home! This is a walk up to the counter and find a seat ordering situation. The waffles are so good and very unique. One of the waffles had cheese and sauce on it! The seating was nice and there was a lot of art work.

Love the concept of funky fusion waffles. The music was great. The cooks were friendly and the food was good. The service was interesting in that you seat yourself, head to the counter to order, and then pick up your food when it's ready. The location looks like maybe it's a bar or a club after hours, artwork on the walls was intriguing and definitely true to the heart of Syracuse. The menu was probably my favorite part, the names were so funny and clever. I ordered Carry On My Wayward Spud, a waffle filled with potato and bacon served with chives and sour cream. It was incredible. Just based on the menu, you're able to order whole waffles or half waffles, I opted for half, thinking a whole would be too much food. I was surprised to see alcoholic drinks on the menu, also with clever names, I got Cold Sweat. Overall, I loved Funk N waffles and I wish I lived closer because I would definitely make my way through the menu.

Food was fantastic. The savory Jive turkey was exactly what I imagined and I was not disappointed.

I first heard of Funk-n-Waffles from a friend who used to visit this place often. Years later, this place was featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. About a decade later, we finally made it to visit, and I wish we have been here sooner. The service was great, the food was good, and so was the ambiance. I ordered a chicken and waffles, something I've ordered from many places. This was surely the best chicken and waffles I've had. The chicken was very flavorful, light years ahead of some of the chicken I've had from some establishments in my area. I was a fan of their house sauce too. We also ordered coffee drinks, which were good. They also have music playing, but as we were here on a Saturday morning, we didn't get to experience this. In the future, we may need to come here to experience the funk of Funk-n-Waffles

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, cus let's be honest who doesn't love waffles?! The service is friendly and the atmosphere is super cool with paintings and live music playing. The menu is HUGE!! But literally the BEST waffles I've ever had!

All shook up with chicken and waffles

A great atmosphere with friendly staff. The options were endless and it was hard making a choice but what I did get was pretty awesome. I would recommend

I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.

We've always enjoyed coming to The York in the evenings for drinks and the atmosphere, so we decided to make a dinner reservation to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends. We booked in advance, specifically noted the birthday, and had a 7 PM reservation. Despite plenty of other tables being available, we were seated at a tiny table right at the entrance to the dining room. Hardly the setting you'd expect for a special occasion, particularly at a restaurant positioning itself as an upscale dining experience. Unfortunately, the food didn't redeem the experience. I ordered the filet butterflied and cooked medium, specifically because I wanted it cooked more thoroughly. It arrived medium-rare, if that. One of our guests ordered the scallops and simply requested a little extra golden color. Instead, they arrived burnt. The salad was average at best, and the pork chop was unremarkable. Nothing about the meal stood out as particularly well-prepared or worthy of the prices. What really surprised us was the complete lack of acknowledgment of my wife's birthday. I'd made a point of including it in the reservation, and even punctuated the occasion when I checked into the host station... yet there was no effort to make the evening feel even remotely special. No small gesture, no dessert, nothing. As we were leaving, someone simply said, "Happy birthday," which honestly felt more awkward and obligatory than thoughtful. We certainly weren't expecting an elaborate celebration, but a little hospitality and attention to detail would have gone a long way. The saving grace was the atmosphere and the wonderful company of our friends. Without those two things, the evening would have been a significant disappointment. The York has a great vibe, and that's what originally drew us in. But ambiance alone doesn't justify upscale pricing. At this level, you expect properly prepared food, thoughtful service, and some attention to the occasion, especially when you've communicated it in advance. Sadly, none of that came together. We'll likely still consider The York for an evening cocktail, but for dinner, particularly a special occasion, there are simply better options that deliver a much more complete experience.

The Evergreen's menu itself is accessed through a QR code where their full list of options and specials are listed. My group opted to share the beer fries and they were taaaasty, pillowy soft, crunchy, and amazingly well seasoned. The vegetarian options are a regular part of the restaurant and the fried tofu I had was genuinely satisfying and well done. My cajun pasta was maybe a touch over but I was okay with it since it had my condiment obsession of chili crisp in it. The menu is well marked for dietary needs. A great thing of note is that they have women's, men's, AND an all-gender bathroom. I appreciate the inclusion in the food and restaurant itself. Car parking is street parking, it's accessible via the Centro bus system, and there is an artistic broken-chain shaoed bike rack just across the street from the restaurant. My group was happy with the prices and service for an early Wednesday dinner in a wintry March.

I read up on the menu and discovered they offered lamb chops which is one of my absolute favourites. A taste of home for me! Friendly and efficient staff welcomed us and showed us to our table. So far so good. Very nice young woman looked after us. My wife ordered the rigatoni and I had the chops. She loved her rigatoni so much she's finishing it off 2 days later and still loving it. Sadly my dish was a bit of a disappointment. My two large chops were extremely fatty. It's the kind you simply can't cut through on a slippery plate. Trying to separate what little meat there was from the fat was impossible so I had to give up and bring it home to a cutting board and an extremely sharp knife. I haven't tried to eat it yet but it looks as fatty as the first. Both had been totally covered by a condiment that I think should have been served in a separate container to allow the diner to regulate the amount desired. The base was a pilf which made trying to cut the chops even more difficult because every time the meat or the knife slipped, the table was showered with grains....all a bit slapstick....! As I previously said, my wife loved her meal and the previous visit was epic so I hate to criticise but I'm just trying to be honest and fair. I think $45 for a couple of very fatty chops with not much meat and smothered in a vinaigrette you might not like is a bit cheeky... In different circumstances I would have sent it back. Oh well, you live and learn...
