Food is great. Service was attentive. The food was delicious. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the frittata.

Today is our last day at Slyvan Beach and I have been eye balling this place all week. With our prearranged schedule with my mother in law, it's been hard to get in for breakfast. Well, today's the day. I looked on Google to see what time they opened. It said they open at 8:30 on Tuesdays. That's wrong, they open at 7:30 like every other day. So, we totally could have went there earlier but 8:30 was still great for us. This venue is absolutely cute! I love all the tables for outside dining in the front. It was a little muggy out this morning so we opted to sit inside. Walking inside, I love how charming this place is! I can tell this used to be a bar in it's previous life. The way they remodeled it to change it to what it is now is just beautiful! I love the breakfast bar area. I really wanted to sit there but my daughter wanted a booth. Adeline greeted us with her beautiful smile after we sat. She got drinks started while we looked over the menu. The menu is quite broad and they have a little of everything. For breakfast I ordered the rise and shine. Your traditional breakfast of eggs, toast, home fries and toast. My daughter got the crab cakes and eggs. While we waited for breakfast, we enjoyed coffee and orange juice. The coffee wasn't the hottest but it was still good with the vanilla creamer. Breakfast came out on huge plates. Everything looked so good, especially the home fries. I'm a sucker for potatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and runny in the middle, the toast was buttery, the home fries had a nice light char on them and soft in the middle. I did get a side of sausage gravy for my home fries but it didn't tickle my fancy, The potatoes were good without it. I did get to try some of my daughter's crab cake. It was very tasty! I initially was going to get the crab cakes but I got a couple bites of my daughter's so win win on having a little of everything. I also got a ham breakfast melt to go for my husband. It was so good I went back and ordered another one for my sons. Both sammys were demolished. I think it's a must go come to the Pancake House while you're visiting Slyvan Beach. The venue is darling. The staff is super sweet. And they push out good food! You can't get any better than that. I look forward to eating here the next time we are visiting. read more

Let me start by saying that if you want to get a seat on a Saturday morning, get here early! We were lucky that we arrived at 9:00am and there was only one table available for the 6 of us. Soon after there was a line that nearly went out the door. Next I want to let you know to arrive exceptionally hungry. Portions are insanely huge and I don't know anyone who could possibly eat as much as they bring out. The Dutch Babies were a rare treat, the pancakes gigantic and hearty, and the three-egg omelet was massive. No one at our table was able to finish everything, and we hadn't even had dinner the night before. Service was great in spite of the busyness of the place and our coffee was refilled every time our cups were nearly empty. A great place to try when you're in the Buffalo area. read more

Went with a group of friends for breakfast. Haven't been in quite sometime but did not disappoint. Weekends can be very busy especially over the summer. We got there early and did have a short wait but went quickly. Restaurant has gone through a make over and is really cute inside but we opted for outdoor seating. Food was reasonably priced and portion sizes were huge so bring your appetite. Only issue was food did not come out all at the same time. Food was good and menu offered many options. Great service, very polite staff from the time we entered to the time we left. Was average noise, nice Christmas music playing at mid level, crowd was average, no wait on a Sunday! We got the cinnamon swirl pancake and shared as well as the French toast sandwich with sausage and I got a cinnamon bun flavored ice coffee. Been coming here for over 60 years and it's a great place for breakfast. I had the Irish Benedict and it was delicious! My wife had the lobster omelette special and she liked it as well. We went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and it was packed. Luckily seating was open for 2 outside so we were seated immediately but the wait for our food was over 30 minutes long. After a sunny walk around the lake and sandy play at Sylvan Beach, our little family of four enjoyed a highly satisfying lunch at Pancake House. Located on Main street across the lake and other main attractions, it has a charming, quaint interior with an even more welcoming staff. We sat at a booth and were grateful they were able to provide two high chairs for our two tots. Arriving close to 1PM on a Wednesday, the space had only a few straggling diners and thus no wait. We ordered a tall stack of pancakes ($9.99), crab cakes with a side of macaroni salad ($14.99), and a Utica bowl ($16.99). A fan of Utica greens, I found the hash browns and fried egg in the Utica greens novel. It was a touch bland and could have used some more salt and seasoning. However, I especially loved the generous melted cheese. The crab cakes tasted fresh and were well-executed. The macaroni salad was the most disappointing. It had too much mayonnaise and too little salt; this, too, was bland. The best, undoubtedly, was the outrageously humongous plate of pancakes, each one larger than our face. We could barely finish one. Our waiter was very friendly, responsive, and helpful. Overall, we had a lovely experience. We ordered way too much food, but were happy to take home the leftovers. We continued to eat the pancakes the next few mornings, even split among three people. FYI--The prices on Pancake House's website are outdated. The actual menu seems to be about $3 more expensive than what is posted online. read more

No service. Group of seven, arrived a couple minutes before opening time on a Sunday morning, at least two staff members saw us standing outside and looked away. That's fine, we knew we were early. But when it got to be six minutes AFTER the posted opening time (according to the restaurant clock we could see through the window) we left. Even if you were still setting up, couldn't you at least have unlocked the door and let us come inside? Can't comment on their food since we didn't get to try it. read more

Although am loyal to Waffle House, pancake house is a cool spot to grab some breakfast. Sylvan Beach is a really great town with a beach town like feel so walking in to pancake house makes me feel at home. Waitresses are super nice and have food out promptly and quickly. They also have real southern style hasbrowns which is awesome and some super great pancakes. This place is a must try. read more

My boyfriend and I ate here for breakfast while on our weekend getaway. Food was delicious and filling! I got the cinnamon roll pancakes. They were very good and had a delicious cinnamon flavor within every bite. My boyfriend got the Asiago crab omelette. He enjoyed it. I had a bite and it was delicious! Stopped in here twice and impressed both times. If I was living in the area I would be a frequent regular here for weekend breakfast. It just has the nice and inviting atmosphere you'd expect from a local owned breakfast spot. I am sure during the busy season they get slammed since it is quite a small spot. Staff were friendly and attentive along with food and drinks arriving very quickly even when busy. My favorite thing I ate was the French Toast Melt by far. Three of us ate here three days ago. We got there around 8:30, before it got crowded (after 9 am). We had two different kinds of pancakes and both were excellent. Note that the pancakes are huge. We got a short stack (two pancakes) and could only eat about half. One pancake is not on the menu, but the waitress did offer it and it would be plenty for a normal human being. This is my favorite spot to go to every family vacation every year. We have to stop by here and either get breakfast or lunch and we love it. The owner is very sweet. The weight is a little long but is only long if you have 15 or more people but other than that, so as soon as you sit at the table, you have a cuppa coffee or a drink right at your service the food is always fresh and hot. Had breakfast at Pancake House on Sunday morning. A solid diner with pancakes that should not be missed. Quality: Pancake House is a classic breakfast spot that seems to do everything pretty well and in large quantities. As the name implies, the pancakes should not be skipped. The Blueberry Pancakes were perfect, soft and sweet, and would absolutely be my order on a return visit. The Sausage Gravy & Biscuits were not at quite the same level, but we left nothing behind. My issue was the gravy, it was very light and could have used larger chunks of sausage. Quantity: Huge portions, the pancakes were spilling over the plate. Value: $11 for a Tall Stack Of Blueberry Pancakes. $14 for Sausage Gravy & Biscuits. Ambiance: Pancake House is a small breakfast spot located in Upstate New York. The space has assorted tables and booths, along with bar seating. I love a good breakfast place and this one is exceptional. I have eaten hear on a number of occasions. I would recommend it to anyone who comes into the area. I had the crab cake Eggs Benedict. This was a very good breakfast and was very tasty. I felt the crab cake was flavorful and my portion was just the right size. My wife had a typical two eggs over easy with extra crispy corned beef hash, but she also added avocado toast. Their take on avocado toast is slices of avocado with a drizzle of honey and some red pepper flakes. My wife loves this dish. By the way, if you can sit outside during the nice weather it adds to the experience and we were lucky enough to sit outside and it was pleasant weather. read more

Under new ownership as of a few years ago. I wish I knew this sooner! We went for Saturday brunch. Then loved it so much we went back the next Saturday. Service is prompt and friendly. Just the right amount of attentiveness. They have excellent gluten free pancakes!! GF toast option too. Other food is great as well. We walked over during our girls weekend in Sylvan Beach. We came on a Saturday morning during college graduation weekend so the place was hopping. We were greeted immediately by the staff and were told they'd have a table in a few minutes. The restaurant is on the smaller side and was really loud so we decided to sit out side since the weather was nice. The menu offers a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items that are available until they close at 2 pm and they offer gluten free options (although we didn't try any so I can't vouch for how carefully allergen food is prepared). Our server was absolutely delightful. We started with a round of delicious cocktails, followed by an equally delicious breakfast. We had the quesadilla, ranchero bowl, bacon and egg on Asiago bagel and French toast. Everything was great. Prices were reasonable and the staff could not have been more friendly, especially considering how busy they were. If you're in the area and are looking for breakfast or lunch, look no further. There were plenty of families with young children, be be warned that because of the tight space and bustle this is not the place where they'll be able to run around if they get fidgety. read more

Finally, a restaurant that does not disappoint in Sylvan Beach. Went there for breakfast with my dad and it was excellent. Our waitress Kaitlyn quickly came over and told us the special which was a sausage quesadilla. I decided to get that without the sausage and it was so yummy. It had eggs, Monterey Jack, peppers and onions all in a quesadilla served with probably the best home fries I've ever had. To top it off I had a sunrise mimosa which was persecco, Orange juice and Grenadine. It was as good as it sounds. My dad had a basic breakfast sandwich but he enjoyed it as well. Was in town for the Chicken Wing Run this weekend. Had our name an number added waitlist. Waitress was a rude from the moment we arrived. Stated we would have to wait they were very short staffed and slammed with customers. We waited an 1 waitress told us to sit a table an the first waitress told us to go outside to wait. We were seated an waited for menus an a waitress for over 20 minutes. In that time frame they waited on 5 other tables that came in after us. Another person at our table went to ask the first waitress for menus an if we could get a waitress as well. An she told him we would not be served any food due to having a dog. Then why would we be seated an not told this from the get go. This waitress was very rude in her manner and how talked to us. Would not recommend if you have a pet. If you don't want a dog in the establishment that is fine but don't seat us an then ignore us and be Rude About It. read more

I want to love the Pancake House so we keep trying it. After my initial review last year, things went a bit off the rails with an over ambitious menu and a novice waitstaff made the wait for breakfast a very long one. Because of this we stayed away most of the summer. They are back open for the season this year with a more typical albiet a bit expensive breakfast menu. They've gotten rid of all the benedicts and poutines and now have pancakes, waffles, eggs, omelettes, etc. Having said that, when we visited on Saturday, we were seated right away but the wait for our food was longer than we would have liked. Once we get into the busy season in the Beach they'll need to pick up the pace or it will be back to long waits (or worse than that, turning people away as they did to use twice last summer). read more

Great breakfast! We had been here a few years ago before the ownership change and really liked the improvements to the interior. Coffee and food was great, highlighted by hand formed sausage patties and tasty hash browns. They have a liquor license so we enjoyed mimosas. read more
