Great service, very polite staff from the time we entered to the time we left. Was average noise, nice Christmas music playing at mid level, crowd was average, no wait on a Sunday! We got the cinnamon swirl pancake and shared as well as the French toast sandwich with sausage and I got a cinnamon bun flavored ice coffee. All were great and price was average to be expected for the food and atmosphere. Will return.

Crab cakes with a side of macaroni salad ($14.99)

After a sunny walk around the lake and sandy play at Sylvan Beach, our little family of four enjoyed a highly satisfying lunch at Pancake House. Located on Main street across the lake and other main attractions, it has a charming, quaint interior with an even more welcoming staff. We sat at a booth and were grateful they were able to provide two high chairs for our two tots. Arriving close to 1PM on a Wednesday, the space had only a few straggling diners and thus no wait. We ordered a tall stack of pancakes ($9.99), crab cakes with a side of macaroni salad ($14.99), and a Utica bowl ($16.99). A fan of Utica greens, I found the hash browns and fried egg in the Utica greens novel. It was a touch bland and could have used some more salt and seasoning. However, I especially loved the generous melted cheese. The crab cakes tasted fresh and were well-executed. The macaroni salad was the most disappointing. It had too much mayonnaise and too little salt; this, too, was bland. The best, undoubtedly, was the outrageously humongous plate of pancakes, each one larger than our face. We could barely finish one. Our waiter was very friendly, responsive, and helpful. Overall, we had a lovely experience. We ordered way too much food, but were happy to take home the leftovers. We continued to eat the pancakes the next few mornings, even split among three people. FYI--The prices on Pancake House's website are outdated. The actual menu seems to be about $3 more expensive than what is posted online.

Although am loyal to Waffle House, pancake house is a cool spot to grab some breakfast. Sylvan Beach is a really great town with a beach town like feel so walking in to pancake house makes me feel at home. Waitresses are super nice and have food out promptly and quickly. They also have real southern style hasbrowns which is awesome and some super great pancakes. This place is a must try.

The breakfast was delicious, they served huge portions, and our waitress was on top of everything. She was very attentive to refilling our coffee and was very friendly. We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were visiting an air b and b in Camden and saw great reviews on Yelp. We live 2 hours away and will absolutely be visiting the pancake house next summer when we're in the area again! Next time, we will try the lunch options! The menu is gigantic. It was so hard to choose what to eat!

Well are expectations were low but holy cow!! Great friendly service, great tasting food and good prices. This will be a great eatery if they keep it up. Bacon, pancakes, toast, omelette were all amazing.

My boyfriend and I ate here for breakfast while on our weekend getaway. Food was delicious and filling! I got the cinnamon roll pancakes. They were very good and had a delicious cinnamon flavor within every bite. My boyfriend got the Asiago crab omelette. He enjoyed it. I had a bite and it was delicious! Real crab also; not that imitation crab crap. For sides we shared sausage, bacon and hashbrowns. All delicious! Prices didn't match the menu though. Everything was $1 more than what the menu said.

Had breakfast at Pancake House on Sunday morning. A solid diner with pancakes that should not be missed. Quality: Pancake House is a classic breakfast spot that seems to do everything pretty well and in large quantities. As the name implies, the pancakes should not be skipped. The Blueberry Pancakes were perfect, soft and sweet, and would absolutely be my order on a return visit. The Sausage Gravy & Biscuits were not at quite the same level, but we left nothing behind. My issue was the gravy, it was very light and could have used larger chunks of sausage. Quantity: Huge portions, the pancakes were spilling over the plate. Value: $11 for a Tall Stack Of Blueberry Pancakes. $14 for Sausage Gravy & Biscuits. Ambiance: Pancake House is a small breakfast spot located in Upstate New York. The space has assorted tables and booths, along with bar seating. The front patio looked like it could have some additional outdoor seating, but on the day we visited snow filled the majority of that area. Country music played quietly over the speakers. Crowd: Every seat was full on Sunday morning. Service: Friendly and considerate staff. Parking: Parking lot located behind restaurant.

Super yummy and great breakfast place! My only complaints were that I paid $2 for strawberries to be added to my pancakes and I only got 2 strawberries.

Both a 16 Oz bottle of Coke and a glass of iced tea cost $4 each. $8 for two drinks is a ridiculous price. The food was pricey. The Elvis burger is $22, with fries. The burger was okay, just a little dry. The thinly sliced onion rings were the best part. The fries were covered in large salt crystals so you had to wipe each fry off before you could eat it. Definitely tell the server no salt if you get the fries. The grilled chicken sandwich for $17 was also 'okay'. Chicken was a little dry. The baked beans were very good. Most of the desserts have nuts on them. The desserts without nuts should be on the top shelves in the display case to reduce the possibility of any nuts falling on the ones below. Ideally, they'd be stored separately. Just a friendly head's up for anyone else with nut allergies. For those kinds of prices, the meals should be 'great'. $47 for lunch for two ppl is a lot. These are not prices that have increased because of gas prices or inflation. They've always been a little high. We knew that going in and high prices give high expectations.

Who doesn't want to go to a joint that says food, slots and drinks in the very front of it? It just screams fun. My daughter and I headed inside. We were stopped by a security guard. He carded us since it's an 18 and up only. The security was really nice! We got carded and made our way in. All the slots were bright and calling my name. They all looked so fun but we were here for food so we headed to the restaurant. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. As beautiful as the weather is, of course we had to sit outside. The setting couldn't be more perfect. The sun was starting to set so the sky was shades of pink and blue. The clouds sprinkled the sky and the water was still. It couldn't have been more perfect view for us. Anna came and greeted us. She has the prettiest smile. She asked us what we'd like to drink. We got our sodas ordered and since I had already looked at the menu, we asked if we can go ahead and order food as well. My daughter and I both got a bowl of clam chowder and some calamari to share. Our clam chowder came out first. It was beautifully topped with bacon and green onion. The chowder was hot! I added the oyster crackers in it so they can sog up. Soggy oyster crackers are so good! The clam chowder was fantastic! It had chunky pieces of celery, potatoes and clams. It was hearty and thick. I ordered a bowl and the bowl was on the smaller side but it was actually the perfect amount. The calamari was some of the best I have ever had! The calamari was so tender. It wasn't chewy or rubbery. They were perfectly breaded and fried. The breading wasn't thick, it was light and crunchy. There was also fried pieces of banana peppers. They were so good! You dip it all in the aioli, chef's kiss. You get a generous amount of calamari. We couldn't finish it so we boxed the rest of those babies for later. The whole experience at the Lake House was phenomenal. From the setting to the service, it was all fantastic. This joint is the perfect setting for a date night. I enjoyed every minute sharing a meal with my daughter here. I'm happy my curiosity brought me to this joint. It's definitely one of my top 3 core memories from this trip. I look forward coming back, enjoying another meal and sunset here.

Okay so grab a cup of coffee, this read might take a minute…read more.. First off, I've read some of the comments that have been left by other people, and all I can say is that some of you need to lighten up a little bit. This is not a five-star restaurant. Quite honestly this isn't even a four-star restaurant, it's a freaking diner. Eddie's restaurant started in 1934 as a hot dog stand. My parents used to go here back in the 1960s before I even existed, they used to bring my sister and I here in the 1970s. I'm pretty sure all they had back then was probably a deep fryer and a flat top. So anyway, partially because of the fact I haven't been here in about 40 years, and my mom hadn't been here in a couple years anyway (her and dad still used to frequent the place from time to time).. I picked her up and took her for Mother's Day. Upon entering this place, not a lot has changed. The basic layout of the dining room is the same as it was back in the 1970s, I think the chairs and and the booths might even be the same, I mean yeah reupholstered I'm sure but the golden color on the chairs I believe I remember from back in the 1970s. I'm sure this is actually part of the reason that people still frequent this place as often as they do. It's modern as far as I'm sure the kitchen is concerned however the dining area is almost like a step back into time. So anyway, we were seated and a waitress came up rather quickly. Her name was Anna, and she rocked. I like to bust chops from time to time and I will occasionally try it with wait staff at various restaurants, and although it doesn't always go very well, Anna picked up on this and fed it right back to me beautifully. She of course also did everything that a good waitress should be doing like checking on us a couple times and making sure we had everything. The food itself, I'm not going to lie wasn't that great. Okay I know you're thinking wait a minute this guy gave the place five stars but now he says the food isn't that great. I didn't say the food was bad, but I will go back to my previous comment and remind everybody that this is basically just a diner. I had the chicken and biscuits which was on special. It was good but it wasn't spectacular. Honestly it was a little bland I found myself using salt and pepper a couple of times. I'm 99% sure it was not made to order they probably had a big 10 gallon bucket of it on a burner somewhere in the kitchen, and they just gave me a couple scoops. Regardless of the fact that I didn't think it was spectacular it was just as I had expected it to be. I've had chicken and biscuits at many places and it tasted exactly right. My wife ordered a honey garlic pork dish which in my humble opinion was awesome. Kind of wish I had gotten that instead but, when I saw chicken and biscuits I just ordered it because that's what I do. The overall experience was perfectly fine. Like I said it's what I expected from this particular restaurant . The place was clean, including the bathrooms, everybody was very professional, it was rather busy being Mother's Day and it didn't really take that long for anything to come out to the table. (Yeah I know how long does it take to grab a couple scoops of chicken out of a 10 gallon bucket and put it on a plate but still they had to prepare my wife's meal so... the service was good) If I lived closer I would go back to this place a lot more often. I will also admit that my giving it five stars, some of you may be thinking well this guy has fond memories of Eddie's restaurant so of course he's going to throw it a high score, and yeah you're probably right. But this is my review and I can pretty much do what I want . So anyway, I definitely recommend Eddie's if you're in the Sylvan Beach area, and Anna, if you're reading this, awesome job...

While we were waiting, we checked out the menu and the delicious pies they had on display. We were finally sat. Kristy took care of us tonight. It did take a minute for her to get to us. She was hustling a few tables. Drinks were ordered and we all breezed over the dinner menu. The menu is quite broad. Breakfast, lasagna, seafood, sandwiches... You name it, they got it. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder and shrimp cocktail for dinner. My daughter got the famous fish plate and my son got the tuna melt. Of course I was going to have a bite of their meals too. Clam chowder came out first. So did fresh rolls and homemade croutons for the soup. The rolls were good. I appreciate the amount of butter they give you. I love some bread with my butter. The homemade croutons were so good! They were savory and buttery! You added them babies to the clam chowder, delicious! The clam chowder was thick and hearty! Lots of potatoes and corn. It was on the cold side though. It was good but I'm sure it would have been better hot. The portion of the soup was huge! We all ordered cups and they were all bowl sized. Dinner came out and everyone's plates looked good. My daughter got two chunky pieces of fish on her plate. My son's tuna melt was thick with tuna. My shrimp cocktail looked really fresh. I honestly thought there would be more than just 5 pieces of shrimp. The shrimp wasn't the biggest. The cocktail sauce was heavy with horseradish and it was so good! The tuna melt was ok. My daughter's fish fry was tasty! It was fried perfectly and not too oily. The fresh haddock they use is so good. The fries were fried soft, my favorite. We were too full for dessert but thier huge dessert menu sounded so good. Maybe next time! Food was decent at Eddie's. The price point is pretty high but you do get decent portions, especially if you order fish. You can tell this joint has been a long time staple for Slyvan beach. I'm happy I got to try this local joint out. Kristy did a great job and it was fun to be with my family at this local joint.

Waitress was friendly but had to ask multiple times for things like plates to share appetizers with the group or drink refills. Food took awhile to come out. I get this was a seafood restaurant but I am a snob when it domes to seafood and do not care for fishy smelling frozen items. Thought salad would be a safe choice after all how difficult is it to put lettuce into a bowl. I would be wrong. My salad appeared to have been left under a heat lamp and lettuce was welted and not good. Cheese was baked into lettuce and melted onto the grilled chicken. Haddock was dried out and appetizers were not good. Even the desserts what few they had on the menu were processed and not made at restaurant or one of the local bakeries.
