I have been coming to bbq joint for years now and it has always been the go to for late night snacking. It is in the same plaza as 85° bakery. Plenty of spaces for parking but it's always so busy since it's a popular square. Beef, chicken, pork...you name the meat..they have it cubed here on a stick, and they barbeque it and it's seasoned with a spices. I love their eggplant and green beans. Yes...they are also skewered and barbequed, also seasoned with the same spices but since each thing has it own flavor, having the spices barbequed brings each dish to life with it's own flavor. For those late night cravings this is the place to eat, it closes at 3am. They serve beer and they even have tap as well as bottle. Not much of a huge selection...maybe less than four but hey at least they have that option. read more

Was looking for a snack in the area after a late night workout and stumbled upon Ft Bbq. It opens until 1 AM, so it can get a bit busy and it is a small restaurant as well. Parking is a bit difficult depending when you come, since they are located in a busy plaza. I tried a variety of meat and seafood skewers/kebabs. I even tried the steamed bun slice as well. The meats/seafood were decent, the bun was tasty as well, but a bit on the more burnt side. read more

This is one of the few places open late in this area, great for late night hanging out with friends. The skewers are pretty good, especially chicken skins, gizzard, hearts, and dumplings. Most items on the menu are spicy, but there are some bon spicy items. You can now order using QR code. I come here more as late night hangout place than for the food, but the atmosphere and service are good. Never had to wait too long for seats or food. read more

I understand it was a busy Friday night, however we had to ask 2 times in order to get 2 cups of water (the food came before water). They use ONE seasoning (unless you get the squid skewer) so in my opinion, I got really bored of the taste. FT BBQ is a decent place for a late night fix. Just don't expect anything spectacular. Most of the skewers at FT BBQ typically range between $2-3. The small size of each skewer is made ideal for snacking. The flavors are pretty ordinary, and they sometimes have a slightly burnt aftertaste. Basically, the skewers taste like what you would expect if you imagine your ingredient grilled in a burnt pan. They only take cash under $30, which is definitely the highest minimum amount I've ever seen at any restaurant. If you order anything less than that, they will impolitely shout, "You got cash??" So unless you can eat 10+ skewers by yourself, bring either your cash or your friends. read more

Only been here a few times pre-COVID, service is fine, and the food is pretty good here. I ordered the Pork and Chive Dumplings on a whim and didn't expect much, but I found that they were surprisingly really, really good. I thought I'd get frozen boiled dumplings, but these were big, juicy, handmade dumplings. They gave a lot, too. Definitely try these out. The skewers here are pretty good, especially the Paddywack. I wouldn't recommend getting the Enoki Mushrooms here, though. They're stir fried into a clumpy mess, and the flavor was pretty weird. Overall, aside from the wack enoki, would recommend. read more

They're all BBQ'd kabobs and super tasty. All costs us as little as $1.25 each. One of the most expensive in the menu was the crispy chicken leg at $4.50. It was seasoned and fried and damn super good! The extra bonus surprise was the potato pancake. It was the savory kind. Tasty and the crunch before the full bite was perfect. It was a bit oily but I could use some of that oil once in awhile :) We topped ourselves off like a racing car with an order of the seaweed salad for me and a cucumber salad for Adam. I love lamb skewers and I was lucky to live close by to a couple of good skewer places in SoCal. Since moving back up here, I've been trying to find a place that makes them just as good. I've tried FT BBQ's food twice, once for take-out and once dine-in. The short of it is that I think their seasoning is on point and the lamb skewers are actually really tasty. However, sometimes you do get some fatty/chewy pieces that are difficult to eat. The other items on their menu aren't bad either. Pretty tasty, actually. I've eaten chicken, beef, chicken skin, Taiwanese sausage as well as some dumplings. Customer service is sub-par, but it gets the job done. The restaurant itself is fairly small, but can get quite busy so expect a bit of a wait. read more

I was starving and need food so I'm down to go anywhere. I order Beef, Chicken kebabs, shrimp, quail eggs and tofu for appetizer. The beef seasoned good and it's not too dry. The chicken was cook well but the shrimp was over cooked, they were hard. The tofu was okay very crispy but too much salt on them. The ordering part was tricky got us all confused. Our bill came out to be $26.90 - a pretty hefty bill considering the number of items we got and enough to cover a typical card coverage average (I'd say most places require bills to be $10+ in order to use card). The kabobs are stacks on stacks on stacks! When going out on a food excursion with some friends before an intense board game night, I followed blindly into the world of BBQ Kabobs. This is definitely my first visit to an establishment like this and I'm happy that I learned about it! Located among many assorted "Oriental" stores of many kinds, you'll find this place in a brightly lit plaza. I think the neighboring businesses may share the late night hours (you know, open past 10), but I could be wrong. This is a perfect place if you get some munchies late at night in the San Jose/Milpitas area. I think it was a Friday night around 10 pm when my group arrived, and it wasn't too busy, we were seated and served right away. The servers are pretty nice. They checked up on us constantly. The restaurant isnt too big, so it's easy for the workers to check up on you. There were 5 of us, so we decided to get the 30 for $30 (I think that was the deal, it's on one of those table sign stand thingies). In addition, we got some things for our selves outside of the 30 deal. The way that the menu is set up, is that you can order individual kabobs for about $2 a pop. There are a lot to choose from, like beef, lamb, chicken, and even chicken feet (something my friend likes =P). My personal favorite is beef. I like lamb and all (like in greek food), but the way that it's seasoned isnt my cup of tea, not saying that everyone'll not like it, but not my thing. If you can divvy up the portions from the deal, go ahead and do it, if you and your party can wolf down 30 (which we did without a problem!), but I can see how ordering individually can rack up the bill a little bit. I think I can personally do like 7-10 by myself (which in turn, can be like $14-20 respectively). They have rice too, but I don't think they have individual sizes (maybe, dont take my word on it) Definitely check it out if your'e in the area and have the munchies for meat. Another of those bbq restaurants, I am impressed with FT BBQ. I like how this place is open late till 2. I ordered takeout and even though it was a little hard to understand, they got my order right. The inside is pretty small with a decent amount of people on a Monday night. The cashier was nice and after a tad little wait after the expected time I got my order. Because kabobs are fairly cheap, it's nice to get a variety. The main meats delivered as usual (chicken, beef, and lamb) and the others meat taste good enough (beef tendon and chicken heart). FT BBQ in Milpitas is a simple little restaurant specializing in grilled skewered meats. I have been going here for a few years and it's my favorite Chinese BBQ spot in the Bay Area. While their quality, selection and pricing are similar to other places, their spice mix is what sets them apart. Also they will make the kebabs extra spicy on request. Their flavors are north style. I've had a lot of this type of BBQ in/around Beijing and this is a fair representation. FT BBQ is not great at everything and it took me a few visits to figure out their stronger items. I don't like their chicken much, but the chicken skin is good and crispy and their chicken gizzards and hearts are pretty tasty. I skip the beef except for tendon and go for the lamb. I also like the spicy BBQ peppers, needle mushrooms and sliced buns. I also love the Taiwanese sausage. I know I shouldn't but I do. While the individual skewers are modestly priced, they do add up. Definitely try this one. My friends like the lamb one, but I don't eat lamb so I get the beef, which is pretty good. I would prefer if the steamed bun skewers here were more flavorful like the other skewers instead of coated just with sugar. The squid was ok but too drowned in sauce, I would've preferred a more grilled squid situation than saucy squid. All in all, the food was decent, and I might come back! Super smoky! I wouldnt recommend coming here before a date because you will smell like smoke. We had a variety of things from lamb skewers, chicken gizzard, spicy squid, quail egg, tendon, and chicken hearts. Most of the items seemed to utilize the same spices on it which were pretty strong. I dont usually eat rice, but it was a bit spicy for me so I had to mix it in with rice. Overall its a decent spot for late night food if youre looking for bbq skewers. I was not a huge fan of their heavy spices but I also went with a bunch of my male cousins who seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Yum, I can't stop thinking about this place since I tried it. It's a great place for snacking if you're not too hungry. The skewers here are delicious, well marinated and tender. I especially liked the LAMB skewers which are $1.45, and the beef tendon skewers which I don't remember the price of. The beef skewers are good too, and they are $1.30. Each skewer has about 4 pieces of meat on it. There's also a huge variety as well. We also got the seafood pancake. It was surprisingly crispy, but it was good, pretty basic though. On the table there are some sauces that you can add to your meat. It's nothing too crazy, but just some enhancers. There's chili, chili powder, white pepper and my fave, vinegar. There's probably more, but I forget. Service here is pretty cool. The sever was chill and attentive. The decor was nice too, simple, but no complaints here.
