Spicy Chicken Cutlet 辣味鸡排
Tina N.

I decided to try this place after walking by it so many times before. It initially gave me Shihlin chicken vibes, but the chicken is very different. There are 2 kiosks you can order from, and there is very little interaction with the staff. I got the chicken breast cutlet and some skewers. Overall, the food was great but I would stick with the chicken as it's their specialty.

My favorite thing from Taiwan? THEIR XXL FRIED CHICKEN!! The ji pai is something I am always craving, and I knew I needed to try this place when it opened here in the Bay Area. The Original Chicken Cutlet with Plum Powder would be my recommendation! Normal size for an individual serving, or a upgrade to a bigger size to share. It came out perfectly hot, juicy, and crispy. Tasted just like the ones I ate in Taipei! Their special featured sauce is sooo delicious as well - a spicy mayo mustard of some sort? The customer service here was great too! Our Assam Milk Tea came with complimentary boba in it, but the pearls were super hard... Probably cooked early morning. The staff happily remade the drinks AND offered a refund. Very kind and reasonable. Despite the boba being hard, the milk tea itself was pretty good AND only $3.99! I will definitely be back here.

Rating: 2.8/5 [take out] This place used to be Quickly/Tapioca Express, and the quality feels about the same. Spicy Chicken Skewer ($1.99): I got the cumin flavor. The chicken was a little rubbery, didn't have any heat, and the cumin didn't really work for me. Squid Tentacles Skewer with Salt & Pepper ($2.99) + Squid Skewer with Sweet Plum ($3.49): I didn't try these, but my husband said the texture was good. The issue was the seasoning; they just sprinkled powder on top, so the flavors didn't come together and felt flat.

This is for To-Go orders only, tried a few fresh in the car tho. This is my favorite "Chinese"- ( Edited) fried chicken spot I've tried around the South Bay. The Spicy Chicken Cutlet is always so juicy and crispy. I get the Chicken Spicy. Regular is $7, or you can pay $5 more to get the size upgrade which can feed two people. P I would not recommend the spicy chicken leg burger. It was overly sweet, saucy and mayo-ee ? The chicken itself didn't have flavour. You also can't adjust spice level. The burger came with lettuce and tomatoes. Parking in that plaza can be tight if you go during peak hours. Many popular businesses all around. If you get lucky, there is a loading zone right in front.

3.5 Food was solid but I wouldn't say anything I need to come back for. It's also quite pricey. Pepper chicken cutlet($10): I didn't really feel the portion size warranted the price. The chicken was really good tho. And the meat was tender Chicken Wing skewers($7): You get two wings. They were fine. I do like that they aren't as breaded and fried compared to actual wing places. I got a BOGO on Uber eats to make this $3.5 per skewer for better value Spicy chicken skewer($5): Flavor was solid. Ultimately it's grilled chicken on a stick. Ribs skewer($10): Also got this BOGO for better value. It's basically spare ribs on a skewer. You get 3 ribs per stick. It's not bad not nothing id go out the way for Ribs rack: this was interesting. It's like pork chop ribs all fried up. Taste was really good. Hard to discern the bones from the meat sometimes. I dunno if that's supposed to be a thing or not. I prob would prefer meatier chops tho. Overall, enjoyed the chicken cutlet the most. I don't think anything here was bad but at the same time nothing was so good that I was like I gotta go have this again

Grabbed dinner here on Sunday evening. Ordering was easy at the self-order kiosks. There were a few tables inside for dining in, but I took my order to go. Enjoyed the chicken leg burger (got the non spicy version) which was made fresh and took more than 10 minutes to be ready. The chicken came in pieces (not a single patty) and was juicy on the inside, a bit soggy on the outside by the time I got home, with fresh toppings of lettuce and tomato in a soft bun. The sauce was not very noticeable. It was a pretty mediocre sandwich in terms of quality, but the taste wasn't bad, and the large size made for a filling meal.

Original Taste Chicken Cutlet Rice Plate Did someone eat the corn?? lol

Ordered the original taste chicken cutlet rice plate for take out and let me just say first impressions weren't great. The veggies and corn looked like they were half eaten by someone already (see photo)... Overall tastes good though but the presentation is definitely lacking. If they want to provide less ingredients, then use a smaller container?

Boba Assam Classic Milk Organic Tea

I didn't try the food yet I only tasted the boba milk drink since it was on a discount? It's...okay, but I noticed the menu to order had no customizable prompt? They need to add this because the drink comes with excessive ice and no control over the sugar level

The bento price meals caught my interest by how cheap it is by $11. Located in Milpitas plaza along with Ten Zen and other Asian restaurants. They had various main meat options for the bento menu. They also serve an assortment of Chinese street food chicken, sandwiches, and snacks. I was intrigued that they had numbing peppers as a flavor option. Ambiance: Place was empty, felt like this place was new. Ordered through kiosk. There's 3 seasoning shakers if you wanna add more flavor or spice to your dish. Service: Took about 13 minutes for the food to get ready, staff was friendly Spicy chicken cutlet rice plate $11 (4/5): It wasn't that spicy, tasted mild in spice. The chicken wasn't dry and the yummy. The vegetables and the rice with met on top complimented well. I ordered it to-go and the might have crispiness diminished over time but it was slightly crispy by the time I ate it after 20 minutes. I'd come again for the bentos. It was filling and delicious on the go

One of the BEST chicken place I've ever gone too! Definitely would want to come back here again for it !!!!! I got the chicken cutlet and oh dear god ! It's soooooo goood !! Service is amazing! Super clean place!

Golden Crispy Ribs: ordered just salt n pepper seasoning...crispy crunchy and not fatty at all...delicious
Caitlin N.

Ordered thru Grub Hub spicy chicken steak, the original chicken steak, popcorn chicken and garlic fried rib...loved every except the spicy chicken steak which was nothing special...great fast service...food was piping hot upon opening at home...definitely added on to my go to spot...

Big chicken Sandwich
Kelly H.

More of a grab and go kinda place but there are a few tables inside if you want to dine in! There are tablets inside for you to order or you can opt to order the traditional way at the counter. I got the popcorn chicken, big chicken sandwich, fries, sesame balls, and chicken burger to try. Overall their chicken was satisfying and delicious! Popcorn chicken came in a generous portion and was fried and seasoned well. They really weren't kidding about the big chicken sandwich being big.. it was quite massive. The bread was a bit dry but the chicken and the sauce in the sandwich made up for it! Chicken burger was decent as well. The sesame balls I got were a little under and could've used more time in the fryer but good overall. Definitely try the chicken when you're here, everything else can be skipped.

L. 1/2 LB. Chicken fried steak ( 6.99) left . Comped milk tea right.

Zhengxin Chicken Steak opened where Tapioca Express was. Basically same sparse seating with updated decor & new menu. This is lst location of a Chinese fast food eatery with Nearly 20,000 locations worldwide. Offerings: snacks, drinks, sandwiches, wings, nuggets, rice plate (bento box), desserts, chicken steaks.. Ordered at counter. Paid. Food ready in 5ish minutes. Eats: Chicken Fried steak (1/2 lb. 6.99) pepper flava. -cut into "bite size" pieces. Dusted with pepper. Tasted like authentic mala initially. Mala later faded. Should have added more from dispenser nearby. -crunchy crust from panko crumbs. Breast meat within marinated, panko'd, then fried. -didn't understand the process till i found videos online. Zhengxin can demystify their products by posting a simple video about how their product are made. -was speaking to owner the whole time i was eating, forgot to take adequate pics. *Chicken Fried Steak is unique. Eating it involves "dusting" chicken et. al as needed when eating. *CFS has similarites & differences with Shihlin's chicken, Japanese Tonkatsu, German wienerschnitzel, America's southern chicken fried steak. Sips: milk tea (comped by owner) -de fault 30% sugar level is perfect. Would skip ice as it's melting dilutes drinks. -milk had velvety full flavored essence. Probably a premium level or equivalent brand. . *owner says a new line of boba drinks is being developed. Staff has Taiwan veterans with boba skills. 4.5 stars....bbq. Skewers may roll out soon. Excited to taste new products ... **owner sees streamlining their elaborate food making process & supply chain issues as short terms issues. Menu will evolve as slow selling items will be replaced.. Thanx to owner for milk tea gratis, assisting me will ordering flava for chicken fried steak..

The food photos alone never quite explained why it has such light foot traffic--and honestly, after finally stopping in, I'm even more puzzled, because the food is good. Maybe it's missing that immediate grab‑you factor, but my experience was solid. I ordered the double pepper chicken leg burger, and the chicken itself is the star: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and deeply savory. While I personally wished it packed more heat, the execution was spot‑on. The bun, however, felt a bit forgettable, and the sauce leaned heavily into Thousand Island territory...fine, but not particularly distinctive. All that said, it's better than the crowd suggests. With a little more personality, this place could easily pull more attention its way.

One thing I was kind of disappointed was that they charge you for bottled water and have no tap water available for free. I ended up getting a drink from their limited selection of bottled beverages (ranging from sodas to unsweetened jasmine tea). Lesson of the day: bring your own water! Other than that, I thought their crispy chicken leg burger was quite yummy, but there wasn't anything too special about it. The chicken was crunchy and juicy. The bun was on the drier side though. Also, the fries were just okay. I would come back for just the crispy chicken leg burger.

The flavor is still on point, no complaints there. But the portion size... that's a different story. The XXL thigh used to actually feel XXL. Now it's noticeably smaller -- honestly, about half of what it used to be -- while the price has stayed pretty much the same. That's not a small change, and it's hard not to feel a little cheated when a "popular item" suddenly shrinks this much. I get that costs everywhere have gone up in the Bay Area, but cutting portions this drastically without adjusting the name or the price feels unfair to customers who've been loyal from the start. The food is still tasty, but the value just isn't what it used to be.
