I came here for dinner on a Thursday night. I had just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to check out Industry City. This was probably the only sit down restaurant when we went. A lot of restaurants have not opened yet, still waiting for Hometown BBQ! The place was pretty crowded despite the fact that it was a weeknight and there was rainy weather. There were happy hour specials but I wasn't in the mood to drink that day. We ordered the fish tacos appetizer, the Maine lobster roll, and the shrimp banh mi. The food was surprisingly fresh and tasty. I really liked the shrimp banh mi. The bread was toasted and the portion was larger than I expected. The fish tacos and lobster roll were delicious as well. The food here was better than food at most bars. They also have a game room ($5 admission for all you can play games) and a yurt outside to hang out which was cool. It was a pretty fun place. I really wanted to love this place: they have good food (lobster rolls yum), a great bar, fresh lemonade... but man oh man the service is so terrible I have to give a bad review. I used to own 3 restaurants, all of which were highly rated for our service. I have to say I would never hire the girl who took our order last night. I can't eat wheat- I don't ask fir special things- I just order items with no bun, no bread, pretty simple. In this case, I ordered a lobster roll sans roll- and since they also serve tacos, I asked if they could just put a tortilla or two on the plate. The girl said no (not even sorry) they were too busy. I explained they didn't need to build anything, just throw the tortillas on please. Nope. They weren't that busy. Trust me, I know busy. Industry city has become the go to place for a lot of people in Brooklyn especially on the weekend. I visited Frying Pan with my daughter for a birthday party at their arcade recently (a week ago). The atmosphere was pretty decent. There were a lot of kids running around some of which were unattended. It's $5 to get in & play all the games unlimited. In my honest opinion I do think their games could be better. There aren't many actual arcade machines. I saw about 5-6 machines. Ping pong tables, a miniature golf area, air hockey and just a few other things. It isn't a big arcade and doesn't have a lot to keep most kids entertained. After about 30mins my daughter wanted to leave. She became bored and complained about the games. They have menu options for kids such as chicken nuggets with chips, grilled cheese, & hot dogs. Overall this is a pretty cool place and the food is good. However if you're a parent like myself that doesn't like to have your children around alcohol then beware because you'll see a lot of adults with beers & wine standing around. read more

My wife and I came to IC on the hottest Sunday Brooklyn has ever experienced (at least this season), and he coolest us down with some ice cold refreshing cocktails. He makes a mean watermelon margarita and the best mojito I've had this side of Central America. To boot, he even poured our 2 1/2 year old son a ice cold glass of orange juice (no vodka). His kind demeanor made the drinks even more palatable, and frankly if I was in IC anytime soon I'd get drinks from him again for the pleasure of his company. Great way to wrap up your trip to Sunset Park/Industry City. It can be quite loud, so probably better for a young crowd. There has been live music each of my visits. Visited my friend in Brooklyn and we stopped by this area. It is not a fancy site, just casual, laid back, family friendly. Loved the margarita and the fish tacos were to die for. Came for drinks and lobster rolls around 6:45 on a Friday. I got the featured spicy watermelon margarita- quite good and a bit different from your typical margarita. While we were there there was music and dancing in the area immediately outside the bar- it was fun to watch! I just wish they'd been a bit more aware of the acoustics, as a few of the pieces had all three of us covering our ears. The lobster rolls came, and at first looked pretty good. Unfortunately my roll was quite burned (like, if I toasted bread this much at home it's going in the trash type of burnt) and imparted that taste to the rest of the roll. Unfortunately the rest of the roll didn't have much flavor to speak of to begin with- the lobster wasn't in chunks like you can find in other establishments in the city, and we all agreed it BADLY needed salt/seasoning. I was eating it and thinking "I've had better tuna fish salad," which is a sad thing to think when you're eating lobster. Also the pickle was just straight up run of the mill basic, nothing special. YOU ARE LESS THAN A BLOCK FROM BROOKLYN BRINE. Happy hour prices are fine. Not great, not terrible. Might come again if friends wanted to, but otherwise not too inclined to return. read more

This place has a different happy hour special every day of the week. My favorite happy hour day is when they have the cocktails at bogo price.
