Ice House is a neighborhood dive bar with cheap drinks and a competent kitchen. Pulled pork sandwiches are popular at $4 each or two for $7. I also recommend the Frito Pie, chili cheese fries, or even the caesar salad. I've been coming for a couple of years, not often enough to be considered a regular, but many regulars do exist and they know how to ask for what they want. It can be pretty hectic at peak hours so make your server interactions cordial and precise; if they want to gab, they'll let you know. The backyard is a fun scene on warm evenings or for weekend brunch. I was back there on a windy day last Fall and the shade umbrellas were blowing all over the place. The poor bartender was very exasperated and I tried to help wrangle the furniture. Glad they've bounced back from those difficult times. This is a classic bar, no frills, though you can obtain a slice of Steve's authentic key lime pie for dessert. You'll definitely feel like a newcomer your first half dozen times, but it's familiar and inviting nonetheless. Leave your bullshit at the door and have an old-fashioned good time.

Came here after hanging out in the area for a few hours for some drinks. The inside is real divey and can get full pretty quick as it isn't all that big. What makes this an even bigger draw is the back yard area which has several tables and chairs so chilling here with drinks and bar grub was great. Unfortunately this makes it limited to the warmer months of the year. The drink selection was pretty decent best I can tell. I had some beers and a few of a cider that I'd never seen before so that was cool and the staff were pretty cool despite how busy it became as the evening crowd rolled in. I didnt have any of the food but some of the choices sounded pretty good. If I find myself outbthis way again maybe I'll try something. Again the best part is the backyard area, so if you're coming through, make it a warm night.

Nestled in one of the last "real" parts of Brookly. You will find a little spot called Redhook, and within it a Haven called Brooklyn Ice House. One of the best dives ive ever experienced. Diversity, quirkyness, nonjudgmental, and the best thing. THE FOOD OMG the service is unncanny and the cocktails are lovley. As a very hughstrun SanFranciscan this place is boss TREAT YO SELF

Went here for some late night dinner. Local hole in the all bar with a nice vibe. They have a nice outdoor back patio. They do seem annoyed that you order food though but maybe that was just my perception. The food was good for a bar and I would def go back if I was a local!

This no frills dive bar in Red Hook is a great spot to grab a cold pint of beer and good eats. The interior is teeny, but walk through the bar to the outdoor patio out back to sit and chill. My husband and I enjoyed their brussel sprouts (they were amazing), brisket, burger, and Frito pie. We will definitely be back!

Yes, I had a cheeseburger ? there about a month ago and it rocked. Juicy, fresh and grilled just right.

As someone who has come to this bar regularly to watch Knicks playoff games, I can confidently say…read moreI will never return after what happened during the NBA Finals last night. What this bar pulled was completely unacceptable. They were openly reserving seats at the bar for certain people while telling everyone else they were unavailable. There was no advertised reservation policy, no advance notice, and no opportunity offered to regular customers. Apparently, the only way to get a seat is to know the owner, know the bartenders, or be part of the inner circle. What made it even worse was that my group had been sitting at the bar, ordering food and drinks starting around 7:30 PM, only to be forced out of our seats at 7:45 PM. The reservation signs on those seats clearly stated they were reserved for 8:15 PM. We were paying customers actively spending money, yet we were removed 30 minutes before the supposed reservation time. That is absolutely egregious behavior. I've worked in sports bars and have owned sports bars in New York City. In all my years in the business, I have never heard of reserving seats directly at the bar--especially during a major sporting event. It goes against everything that makes a sports bar successful. Bar seats have always been first-come, first-served. That's Sports Bar 101. I've spent plenty of money here over the years because it was always a great place to watch big games: good atmosphere, sound on the TVs, and a fun crowd. Unfortunately, last night proved that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing. Regular patrons were treated like second-class citizens while preferred customers received special treatment. For a bar that markets itself as a neighborhood sports destination, this was incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. If you're planning to watch a major game here, don't assume you'll be treated fairly. Unless you're friends with the right people, don't expect the same experience as everyone else. There are plenty of other sports bars in Brooklyn that understand how to treat customers. After last night, I'll be spending my money there instead. I won't be back, and I certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone. Let's Go Knicks
