Went here because Fat Straws closes early. We ordered 3 different drinks and all were great. I ordered the El Diablo, because it was different and I love mango. You need to try this if you like mango and salty/chile. If you're not big on spice, it's ok, because it wasn't overly spicy. I'm sure you could ask for more spice if you want more heat. Both the others got drinks with strawberry and with other jellies. We will be back; the Josey location is just south a bit from George Bush Turnpike and it has later hours than some other bubble tea places. read more

OMG. Finally a place in the Metroplex and is good. I'm from LA and Taiwanese, so my standards are incredibly finicky. The boba pearls are great. Soft on the outside, firm on the inside WiFi is lousy. Rated at 2 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. Plenty of power outlets though. Ample seating. They have a combination of high to tables and standard ones as well Easy parking. Service is phenomenal. It was my first time here and the cashier was super helpful and friendly. I ordered 2 drinks. First one was just a regular Milk Tea with Bubbles. The tea was kinda weak, it didn't bring out the taste of black tea at all. The bubbles weren't cooked all the way. The second drink was a Strawberry Green Tea, it was okay. Came here with a friend, definitely not impressed. The Jasmine Green tea was very watered down and had no green tea flavor nor could I taste much of the mango flavoring I added. The boba was sweet and a good consistency, but I didn't like the tea so it wasn't really worth the drink. The tapioca bubbles are chewy, and they advertise that they're made fresh every day at 11am! I also like that you can adjust your level of sweetness (I usually get 75%). There is a ton of parking (it's right next to an Albertson's) and it's never been too crowded. I like how they have lots of board games, so you can play jenga or apples to apples with friends. If we were just going off of name alone, this place would probably get 31 stars for sheer creativity - I'm a sucker for puns. But then again, all the puns in the world cannot really help you out if your product is lame or inefficient or makes you smell like pork, or something. The best thing about Fruitealicious is not that it avoids all the pitfalls of the previous sentence; the best thing about this place is that it delivers a great experience, from consumption to considering the beaten up copy of Jenga while you enjoy your time in the spacious setting. A friend and I arrived here one Saturday afternoon, and even with her directions, I had a hard time finding the place. It's a couple storefronts removed from the sidewalk in front and is very unassuming. Nonetheless, once you finally find the place and walk on in, you're in for a friendly couple of minutes. Now I know the girl I was with was a fan of this place, and we were coming here based on her recommendation. But wow... You would have thought the girl had signed the deed to the building that put this place in business given the reception she got. I felt like I had just driven a local celebrity to a meet-and-greet and I was the limo driver who doubled as her red carpet escort. But even for a guy who had literally been in the building for a whopping 16 seconds, the staff was incredibly cordial and engaging. The gal working the register complimented my shoes, which clearly means this place only employs MENSA membership holders. So if you want to come in and swap fashion advice with really energetic and bubbly (no pun intended) personalities, this is your place. If you also want some delicious smoothies and bubble teas and drinks, well, you're in luck because this is also your place. I wish I could tell you what my friend ordered but the staff pretty much knew what she usually got and started making it probably before we even left the parking lot to walk on in. I panicked and went with a passion fruit smoothie because "passion" is something I am in constant search of. Sizes were "medium" and "large" and "medium" might as well not even exist because chances are real high if you got one, you're going to get back in line and order another one - "large" is the way to go. As we waited, I took in the sights of the shop because I usually try to be detail-oriented and want to know what kind of establishment I've been shanghaied into visiting. It has a real community feel to it, with a shelving unit housing local business cards and a posting area where more nearby opportunists can share their advertising - I almost snapped a picture of the "Toddler Yoga" advert since the very notion of that is both horrifying and hilarious. Next to the stand were shelves of T-shirts to purchase, and opposite those were a few racks of board games and card games to entertain any customers who want to sit, drink and argue over Cranium. So I'm standing there digging this laid-back vibe when it dawns on me... there's music playing! And it's like someone unearthed my high school experience and crammed it into an iPod connected to the speakers as I don't recall hearing a song recorded after 2003. They were missing "Stacey's Mom," but maybe that was playing before we arrived. And that's not a bad thing! It's just one of those things that I thought was awesome because music was better then and kids today need to stay off of my lawn with their hula hoops and their hip hop and their YouTubes... The drinks were done and brought over to us with a smile and a skip and I was about to skip right on down the hall to the other half of the place because my smoothie was equal parts refreshing and tasty. It was enough to make me want to call the number on the "Toddler Yoga" sign and tell whoever answered that even though their idea is bogus, this smoothie and bubble tea my friend was enjoying can bring us all happiness and peace and unicorns without the risk of looking insane. Yes, the drink really was that good. From staff on top of their game to a community spirit, an extensive menu that would take you a couple months of daily visits to work through and an atmosphere that does not take itself too seriously, you really owe it to yourself to stop on by. What I like most about Fruitealicious is the huge menu they have, and if you want something that isn't on their menu, they are willing to try to make it for you! I've been coming here for many years, I have a good handful of recommendations from here! Don't forget to sign up for the reward system to earn points for coupons- and during holiday times they usually send coupons for their drinks. Right when you hit the door. That didn't happen today, but idc I'm not a super sensitive needy customer. Today there was a girl there I don't usually see. She snapped off her gloves (maybe she's mad she just put them on) and met me at the cash register. She still didn't say ANYTHING, so I proceeded to order a spotted cow- she interrupted me and said she doesn't have boba yet-looking extremely annoyed. I asked if I can still order that without boba. Yelp is running a check in offer here: upgrade to a large size for free! So that's what I did: got a large iced classic milk tea with boba. I wanted to see how well they made the OG bubble tea drink. Annnnd they nailed it. The milk tea was wonderfully smooth, sweet (but not overpowering), creamy yet light. And the boba were my favorite part. I typically don't get boba at other places because they're never "right" i.e. too soft, too hard, too tasteless, etc. But the boba here were just the perfect consistency for me. Had a great chewy resistence without being too tough, and also tasted of very nice tapioca. Minor gripe is that they're so far away in Carrollton, but I will definitely be stopping by more often when i made my treks to Super Hmart, because they're relatively close to each other. read more

The three young girls working today were all leaning on the counter when we walked in. This wouldn't have been a big deal if they hadn't all tried to not be the one to serve us. The girl who took our order could not remember which of the two drinks I had ordered when I requested light ice for my drink, not thirty seconds after ordering. She also very obviously corrected us when we ordered our teas with boba, enunciating the word tapioca when she repeated the order. The one girl who appeared as though she might actually know what she was doing spent the entirety of our visit bent over, elbows on the counter, half instructing the other two on what to do. The girls had a loud discussion about how gross almond was as they were making my almond milk tea. When the first drink was ready, the girl called out "coconut milk tea" and the other girl said "no, it's the almond mik tea" and they all giggled as the first girl said, "no, it's coconut." They did the same thing when the second drink was ready, leaving us wondering which was which as they tasted similar. Lastly, Fat Straws puts 2-3 times more boba in their tea. I would be surprised if there is even a tablespoon of boba in my cup. The bad service combined with mediocre tea has ensured I will never be back, and I will tell everyone I know. read more

I believe it was black tea with all the jellies and a mixture of fruits. I have not turned back from that drink since. Get it? Fruit - TEA - licious? So clever this place is. Not only clever with their words but their bubbles as well. Surpassing the 'norm' of bubble tea, they provide bubbles in smoothies as well! I thoroughly enjoyed my strawberry & banana smoothie with tapioca balls, mango burst balls AND yummy watermelon flavored little 'jellies.' Their options of drinks, flavors and fresh fruit add-ons blow my mind. There is literally a 'Willy - Wonka' factory of flavors from which to choose. And just like Willy Wonka it can be a tad overwhelming (in a good way). The supplementary texture and flavor they add to your already delicious smoothies creates a whole new dimension of mixology. They certainly have created a cool concept. There service is very personable and prompt. A unique part of their service is their method of sealing your drink. Fruitilicious was the first place I tried popping bubbles and the moment I had it, I was hooked. Mango lassi with passion pop is my favorite. The only downside are their prices which are a lot higher than a regular bubble tea place (especially since more shops have popping bubbles now), but it's good to spoil yourself once in a while. Love this place!!! I've tried just about every boba place in Dallas, and being from Taiwan, I have pretty high standards. Fruitealicious imports all of their ingredients from Taiwan, and their boba is always perfectly chewy, never soggy! What I love most about this place is the ambiance. I have never been able to come here and simply buy a drink and be on my way. Typically, I'll get wrapped up in a game or conversation and then when I go for a sip, my cup is empty, half an hour has passed, and I'm thinking about my next order. The staff is always amazing, helpful, and amicable. To be honest, I'm not even a big fan of bubble tea but I do love every drink I have had here. I live on the West Coast, and yeah, we have tons of places that one might characterize as more "authentic," but at the end of the day bubble tea is just bubble tea. Fruitealicious, on the other hand, offers a welcoming oasis of sugar and good company amidst the suburban hell that is Carrollton and all of the other soulless towns north of 635. I have had bubble teal at several places in Dallas, and this continues to be my favorite. Their boba is always perfectly chewy, and never hard or overcooked, and their bubble tea flavors are so good! The fruit chillers in particular are what I would recommend. I got a mango strawberry one, and it had chunks of fresh mango and strawberry in it. It actually tastes like juice, not some powdery mix that you get at a lot of bubble tea places. And now, in addition to regular boba, they have "pop" boba, which are little pearls filled with either mango or lychee juice that you can get in your drinks. I'm not a huge lychee fan, but I tasted a sample, and they taste like, well, like lychee. So if that's your thing, I'd try it. The mango ones, however, are what I opted for today, and every time you bite down, it's like a little burst of cool mango juice exploding in your mouth. And granted, I know the idea of little things exploding in your mouth may not sound like the most appealing thing ever, but in this case, it is fantastic. I've been coming here for as long as they've been open. The quality of the bubbles and the drink has always been consistent and always fantastic no matter who the mixologist (their term for drink mixers) is. This is the only drink place I ever go to because they are the only place I know that offer a myriad of fruit jellies to put in your drinks as well as the usual tapioca balls. However, once you try jelly, it's pretty hard to go back to the bland chewy tapioca. The girlfriend always gets the strawberry mango slush with double bubble because she's extremely pick. I'm pretty sure she's ordered over 25 of those. Anyway, the the strong strawberry taste with a subtle mango aftertaste is just fantastic. My usual is the Thai Tea Slush with green apple jelly. It tastes just like caramel apple. It's a combination that I came up with that I only order :] For some people it might be way too sweet but it's just right for me. Make sure you say slush and emphasize the slush because if the mixologists miss it, you'll just get regular thai tea with ice that's not as good. Come here and try out their specialty drinks. Purple Oreo, Strawberry cheesecake, Frozen Hot Chocolate just to name a few. The owners Jon and Carmen are some of the nicest, most genuine people I know. I've been coming here since they opened in 2008 (I think?). I'm sorry Jon and Carmen (the owners), for not writing a review for all these years... but... ahem: THIS. PLACE. IS. THE. BEST. I'm a Plano native who moved to the OC almost a year ago. There is nothing, NOTHING out here like FTL. There are good boba places, don't get me wrong! But nothing will ever compare to this joint. The variety of fruity options, along with coffee and tea selections, sets this place apart from anywhere I've been in Anaheim or the Dallas area. The point collection system for coupons is like boba icing on the wet tea cake. What started off as a small "ma 'n pa" shop has since now expanded all over the metroplex without losing any of it's wonderful charm. Every time I'm back in town, I make it THE point of my trip to come back here. I wish I was exaggerating. I have had everything on their menu and nothing has been anything but stellar. When its cold, I get a peach black tea with mango jelly and boba - the staff that I'm familiar with (hi Mark, hi Steve!) named it after me, the Sangrey Special. Alllllllways hits the spot. For the rare occasion a hot drink is in order, though, get a hot milk tea with boba and flan. I like it with jasmine tea. The flan just melts in the warmth, and the boba is perfectly chewy... its an experience, kiddos, lemme tell ya. Speaking of boba, of the PLENTY of things worth noting here, their boba is by far the best anywhere. Never mushy, never sticky and hard, and they give it a nice honey baptism before allowing it to bless your tastebuds with its holy presence. I'm getting homesick just from writing this. Damn good bubble tea. I'm partial to the "fruit chillers" which are basically fruit smoothies with tapioca pearls added. Looks like they use lots of fresh fruit, which is always way better than the goo from the giant pump bottles. When I hear bubble tea I don't think smoothies or fruit juice where someone throws in tapioca pearls to be cute. I think black milk tea, the way it should be. This drink should be standard in any place that has bubble tea as their gimmick. This place is a tad out of the way from me, but I was returning from Ft. Worth, and figured carrollton was on the way back to Dallas. So logical, it's one of my best features. I saw the yelp offer on the front page and asked the cashier if she would honor it without having a print out. She agreed, very green of her. This was probably the best part of my visit. I ordered the large size because it was only .40 cents more than the regular, or small or whatever. In hindsight, should have went with the regular size. I got a strawberry milk tea. And let me say right now, that I have never been able to get a good strawberry milk tea out side of Mimoko's in austin. Sad days. This was my next mistake, should have went straight up classic. Friend of mine did get a regular milk tea. Drinks came out quickly, and as I was walking out I sipped and was shocked at the taste. Mine was tart and not much of a milk tea taste. I tried my friends, figuring I screwed up by adding strawberry, but his tasted super watery and not very milky either. I do agree tapioca was cooked well but not exactly a saving grace.
