As a tea-lover, I applaud this, and I enjoy discussing tea culture with them. The owners run the shop in colder weather, when people forget they offer special hot drinks, and hot teas, caffè lattes, and Vietnamese coffee. In the hotter months, the staff expands. The decor is subtle, the music never interferes with thought or speech, good amount of outside light. The tea mocktails are some of my favorites, usually juices or purées with green tea, sometimes jasmine green. I'd love some Moroccan tea, made with gunpowder green tea and fresh spearmint (peppermint is too strong), but it's not from Asia. Drink sizes are 16 (hot and cold) or 24 (cold only) oz. There's teaware, full leaf teas found on the menu (we love ancient black at home for iced tea), baked mochi treats, and tea jellies. We bring our own tea tumblers, more rigid than the plastic cups they use. There are often tea "barista" classes on weekends before they open for customers, should you like to learn something more exotic. On weekends and Mondays, they open at noon, otherwise it's 11am.

We arrived to Wushiland Boba on a Saturday afternoon. The boba spot is located in between UFC gym and Ranch 99 inside the Oakridge Mall in San Jose. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot in-front of Ranch 99. The boba spot is in small booth space with a self serving kiosk to order drinks. There is a big screen that lets you know when your order is ready. We ordered an Ice Cream Uji Matcha Latte and an Earl Grey Milk Tea with pearl boba. Both drinks were delicious and refreshing. In my drink the ice cream went very well with the Uji Matcha Latte. It was a nice blend of sweetness mixed with the matcha. My son said his Earl Grey Milk Tea was super tasty especially with the boba. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Wushiland Boba. The staff were nice and efficient. Price point is fair. There is a vast selection of great drinks to choose from. We hope to come back to try other drinks on the menu.

This location is a walk-up counter service store. There is seating in the mall area where the Ranch 99 hot food is available. It was very busy today. There were a lot of people in line to order. They only have one kiosk to order from, but the line moved fairly quickly. Once it was our turn, I ordered the grapefruit tea with zero sugar and less ice. My husband ordered the orange grapefruit tea with 30% sweetness and less ice. Our order number popped up on their screen where you can check the status of your order. It didn't take very long for our order to be ready. They were working fast back there. My grapefruit tea really had no sweetness. In fact it was too sour. Usually there is some sweetness from the fruit itself, but this grapefruit had no sweetness. I would definitely choose 30% sweetness for this drink, next time. I did like that they used fresh grapefruit to make this fruit tea, but there was way too much pulp. Every sip I took, my mouth would be filled with pulp and hard to chew parts of the inside of a grapefruit. It wasn't pleasant at all. I think they should strain the juice a bit before making the drink. My husband's orang grapefruit tea was too sweet for him at 30%. I think the orange was already sweet so the added sweetness made it overly sweet for him. We ended up trading our teas with each other. I loved the sweetness of his. He was okay with the unsweetened grapefruit tea. His orange grapefruit tea also had way too much pulp in it. The pulp issue, in our opinion, was too bothersome and undesirable to justify ordering these particular fruit teas again. I do appreciate that they use fresh fruit to make their fruit teas but I think the juice needs to be strained before they use it in the tea. If I were to try their teas another time, I'd try the plum fruit tea or passion fruit tea. Customer service was nice. The only interaction we had with the staff was when our order was ready to pick up.

I ordered a large Thai milk tea with honey boba and double espresso shots, along with an order of popcorn chicken. The total came to nearly $24, which would be easier to accept if the quality matched the price. The Thai milk tea, even at 75% sugar and with added double shots, tasted watered down and lacked the rich tea flavor I expected. The honey boba was equally disappointing, with little to no noticeable honey flavor despite being marketed as such. The popcorn chicken was crispy, but I specifically ordered mild seasoning and received something that was noticeably spicy. If you're sensitive to spice, be aware that their definition of "mild" may differ from yours. What disappointed me just as much as the food was the service. There were three young employees working behind the counter who appeared far more engaged in conversations with each other than interacting with customers. There was no greeting, no welcoming atmosphere, and no effort to explain or recommend items from their menu. For a first-time customer, the experience felt indifferent and uninterested. The gaming kiosk tables are unique and appear to be a major feature of the business. However, I left with the impression that much of what customers are paying for is the gaming setup rather than the quality of the food, drinks, or service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location. There are many other boba shops and popcorn chicken spots that offer better flavor, better value, and better customer service at similar or lower prices. Given my visit, the numerous glowing reviews don't reflect the experience I received. I came in expecting a highly rated destination and left wondering if the ratings are based more on the gaming tables than the food and drinks themselves.
