So far they have, croissant, butter mochi and a pate chaude. My friend originally found this spot and he went, had a good experience, and now came back because I wanted to try it. Overall, very sweet employees and very cute shop. Location is a little iffy, but they do a good job with the drinks overall. Definitely a 4 stars for me. Food: Pate Chaud: 3.0/5 Hmm...might be more of a personal preference if anything. The three stars mainly comes from the pastry itself. Super flakey and crispy. Nice golden brown on the outside and the egg wash is pulling it's weight. The filling really wasn't my favorite. There are various ways to make this pastry. My preference has always been to fill it with uncooked meat and then bake it all together. This prevents the meat from separating like ground meat. Others will cook the meat first and then fill the pastry with it. This could help with preventing any additional moisture to soak into the pastry that could prevent those flakey layers from forming. You'll see that the layers of the pastry is beautiful. Its just the meat for me. I've always just preferred the whole meatball though. Meat was more on the salty side for me too, which again, might just be my own taste bud. Others may be more ok with this. Butter Mochi: 4.0/5 Not pictured because this was just a little taste that I got. The texture is so similar to bánh khoai mì (casava cake). Very chew, light sweetness, some grit to it too. I like how thick they made this. Drinks: Strawchacha, 50% sweetness, light ice: 4.2/5 This is their ceremonial-grade matcha with whole milk and homemade strawberry puree at the bottom. Very typical strawberry matcha latte. Something different that I noted was that they lather and spiral the side of the cup with the strawberry puree versus just dropping all of it at the bottom. It 1) gives it a nice color, 2) lovely aesthetic, and 3) makes it easier to distribute the flavor when mixing. There is an optimal amount on the sides too and perhaps a better ratio of puree to milk to matcha. I find that the flavor of the fruit can sometimes just overpower the matcha. For the flavor, I like the matcha that they used. Very smooth overall. Color is nice and vibrant. Sweetness is also good for 50%. That combined with that slight tartness from the strawberry puree was chef's kiss. Cococha with Coconut Jelly: xx This was my friend's drink. Did not try it today, but per my friend, it was amazing. This is their refreshing coconut water with coconut jelly, topped with matcha cream cheese foam. Visually, very aesthetic. The cream looked thick and that's perhaps from the cream cheese foam. This made the layering very nice. I don't know how I would feel about the cream cheese foam combined with the matcha because that flavor can be very overpowering against a lighter flavor like coconut water and matcha. My friend really liked it though, so perhaps worth trying if you want a refreshing drink. --------- Quality: Optimal Their matcha quality actually looks really good. When it wasn't mixed yet, it looked amazing, but when it was mixed together, the color really held up well. Of note, their coffee also looks really good. I haven't tried it yet, but the look of it is similar to what my homemade Viet coffee would look like. Very deep and dark coffee as all Viet coffees should be. Price: Depends Their prices will range from $6.50 to $6.96 + tax. This honestly is quite a good price for what they give. They do sell pate chaud and a few other pastries/cakes. The pate chaud is $3.50 and that's honestly so expensive for me. If I were to compare this to my favorite spot to get them, which sells them for $2.75, then this price just pushes it too far for me. The size of the pastry is relatively small too, which adds to my point. Of note, perhaps they make their doughs by hand. The pastry was super flakey and I find it somewhat hard to achieve that from the storebought puff pastries. Service: Very sweet We had pretty limited interactions with them, but with the interactions that we did have, they were really sweet. All ordering is done on a kiosk and they you just pick up your items from them at the counter. My friend did go here once already and he noted the same. They were very inviting and nice. Plus points for that little sample of the butter mochi they gave us that day. Ambiance: Quaint If this place were closer to the San Jose area, I would for sure go here more often. Could definitely study or work here. Cute and small interior with just a few tables. Quaint little space for me. Location/Parking: Farther South This spot is located in the Braham Center. This place is farther south from San Jose area, which is where it's fully saturated with matcha, coffee, and boba places. I'm honestly how sure how well this location does. Beautiful new spot in San Jose! This is a great place to work, they're playing indie covers of songs and they have wifi, plenty of seating, and delicious coffee. The workers are all incredibly nice Vietnamese aunties They took such good care of me! I tried the egg coffee, lychee green tea, and oreo salted foam coffee. The egg coffee comes with some grass jelly which is a yummy yummy surprise. It's a little sweet (to be expected for viet coffee) but SOOO delicious (and I'm usually an Americano drinker). I was starting to think that I had run out of boba/milk tea places within about a five mile radius, and then I saw a sign for Saigon Sip. This is located in a busy complex near Pho Luc Lac which is one of the best Vietnamese pho spots around. The parking lot can be super busy at certain times, but there is always plenty of parking nonetheless. You order from a kiosk. It didn't seem for the drink I ordered Kumquat Honey tea that there were options for adjusting the sweetness, not sure if that's the case of all drinks. The drink was really good, and not too sweet since the kumquat adds a sour taste! It was served very quickly. I remember when this was a Greek place a few months ago. Stopped in on Labor Day, this place is new for me. Really nice minimalist aesthetic and mellow music playing. Seems like a nice pace to read or spend a bit of time with a friend. Stopped by today after lunch to grab a quick drink and decided to go with the Strawchacha. Wow what a delicious treat made of matcha, creamy milk and strawberry puree. It's the perfect blend of matcha cream strawberry sweetness. Even though I had just ate lunch, I couldn't resist grabbing one of their Patechaud pastries. Patechaud is a pastry that was influenced by the French colonization of Vietnam between 1858 until 1954. It combines French puff pastry techniques with local Vietnamese flavors and ingredients, resulting in a unique fusion. If you never had one, it's flaky outside like a croissant but the body is a bit more dense and once you bite into the flaky exterior you get to the soft seasoned meat inside. The toasted and warm Patechaud with my Strawchacha was both satisfying and delicious! I'm not sure why someone said the patechaud they had was salty. I don't like salty foods at all and found the patechaud here to taste perfect. I could easily come here and grab two patechaud pastries with a drink and call it lunch! read more

Saigon Sip opened 3 weeks ago. They feel very much in warm-up mode, so I am excited to see when they get more established. The shop is owned by a Vietnamese woman and her non-Vietnamese business partner. I ordered a Pistachio Coffee and an Ube Matcha. The Pistachio Coffee was pretty good, and I liked the 25% Sweetness. I believe they use Coffee Robusta beans, which may be a bit too bitter for me personally, but others often enjoy it. My mom got Ube Matcha at 100% sweetness. I found it way too sweet, and I think they could have used more matcha. As the photos show, it seems to have a lot more ube than matcha. The drinks are so pretty and aesthetic, so if you appreciate that, you will be happy with your drinks. The interior is a bit sparse. For a coffee shop named Saigon Sip, I think they should live up to their name and incorporate more Vietnamese art onto their walls. read more

We got the lotus tea with pistachio cream and boba then a coffee with salted cheese and included coffee jelly. The lotus tea tasted mostly like jasmine but more earthy the pistachio cream was okay but not too much flavor but they gave so many pistachios on top that it was worth it. Most places don't include coffee jelly in the base coffee order so this was a nice surprise to find a place that does. The presentation is excellent. As for the interior, it's barely furnished with just old tables and chairs of what they had on hand. No ac but I do see the potential once cleaned up. I love this new addition! it's the only boba spot in the plaza and it's truly a hidden gem. they have a unique menu ~ offering a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Taiwanese. I've tried their Lotus Milk Tea W Pistachio and Bacxiu W Caramel. Both drinks were really good. However, I believe they use half-and-half to make their Bacxiu, which I do not prefer and didn't enjoy as much. I hope they can add more (specific) details/info on the beverages description because I would've asked to substitute. It also states it is made with milk, but it was pretty thick and extra creamy. My partner and I came here to try out this hidden gem after learning about this place through social media. We both got the egg coffee, with the 25% and 50% sweetness. It was yummy - the coffee's strong and sweet but not overly strong or sweet to where it gives you the jitters or anything like that. We may have ordered the pistachio coffee on accident and she ended up giving us the pistachio cream separately to try anyway after clarifying our orders with us.
