While out shopping, my wife and I came across BLVD Coffee and remembered a friend mentioning it before--so I figured, why not give it a try? As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Enrique, who had such a warm and welcoming demeanor. We took a moment to look over the menu, and he quickly picked up that it was our first time. After we confirmed, he asked about our coffee preferences--strong, sweet, or somewhere in the middle--and walked us through the seasonal menu with some great suggestions. My wife ordered the iced lavender vanilla, and I went with the iced café carmelita. He also asked if we wanted food, so we tried the lemon blueberry loaf and a turkey avocado sandwich. Everything did not disappoint. The drinks were amazing--Enrique absolutely nailed the recommendations--and the turkey avocado sandwich was especially memorable. While our drinks were being made, we had some friendly small talk with the staff, which added to the experience. The overall vibe was great. The team was super friendly and attentive--when a line started forming, other staff jumped in right away to make sure no one was left waiting. I stumbled across this coffee spot while going to ups in the same plaza. It was quite busy inside and everyone was chitchatting which was nice to see. It seems like neighborhood spot to meet up at. They even had some books for kids there on a small bookshelf. This review is mainly for their chocolate croissant that really blew my socks off. Like this is the best chocolate croissant I've had ever. The chocolate was rich and perfect. I've had most in the area; most are from wholesale bakeries or manresa. But when I heard from the cashier they made these in house, I had to try them! I will definitely be back to try their other food items. Their coffee was great too. A pretty decent size latte for around $6. I've had more expensive coffees for less quantity elsewhere. It seems like a solid spot!! Our favorite cafe for just hanging out of meetings up with friends. The service is always fast and friendly with the cashiers and baristas able to explain the different drinks and offer suggestions. I love that they bake in house. It's so relaxing watching the bakers make scones. Blueberry is my go to favorite. Along with the cinnamon twist latte. They offer lots of different seating options though it gets really busy on weekends so go early to grab a space. read more

My work team had to pivot on a meeting location, so we ended up here to take our meeting! Great place to do work and chat. The service was great and very accommodating. The coffee was good, and they have a lot of great options, I didn't know what to get (in a good way). Always come back to Blvd when I'm around the Almaden location! I used to get the crepes all the time and now have switched over to get breakfast bagels!! The coffee and specialty holiday drinks are also my favorite. Tried the Cozy Latte today probably my favorite so far! I didn't get any today but their scones are also amazing! We live in the neighborhood and love to support our local businesses here in Almaden. But, progressively, Blvd has increased its prices and its service has gone downhill. Since we live across the street, we give them 5th and 6th chances because its a local shop but we literally waited 35 minutes the other day for a Border Bagel sandwich and it was not all that great, especially considering we paid $11 for it. The coffee drink we purchased was also watered-down. Location and ambiance are great though and we always see neighbors and friends there. At some point though, price and service will outweigh location and convenience. read more

The most popular spot in the morning of Almaden. On a regular Friday, this place is populated with friends, laptop workers, etc. we ordered a cobano coffee - it was so good!!! The best that I've drank for a long time. You can order decaf options as well. We also ordered a strawberry crepe and a savory crepe. Both are delicious. While we are eating in the bar, we enjoy watching the staff making the most fresh croissants. The shop is spacious, both inside and outside seatings available. Have their coffee grinding facility out in the shop front area so everyone can view, and barrels of coffee beans. I love this local coffee gem! read more

I recently tried the border bagel and it is AMAZING. I definitely recommend getting it with the jalapeño cheese bagel. The people working here are so incredibly kind and always are so helpful. I went there last weekend and asked to have my bengal double toasted- I was seated close by the place where they have your food ready and I never heard my name being called so I went and asked to find out that it's was there getting cold when I touched it first of all it was cold and second it wasn't doubled toasted. I ask for another one to be double toasted and they didn't like that but they "did" What they did was to toast the bottom of another bengal and used the top of the first one because it was cold and soft. They may think they trick me but they didn't - this is why I'm writing this review... and also the amount of cream cheese was ridiculously nothing to none! Shame on this young kids that think they can do something like this to a customer and even think that the customer won't notice it.... Never ever I would go to this caffe again! read more

A great spot with a family feel to it. I wasn't going to leave a review but my interaction with one of the employees changed my mind. I came excited to try the cinnamon twist latte. I ordered the XL cup that comes with 4 shots of espresso. I then proceeded to order my husbands latte only to be met with "is this for you also?" and a look of concern. I assured the barista it wasn't for me and finished my order with food but felt her genuine concern for my health warranted not only a tip but also a review. A lot of people were dining in and grabbing to-go orders. I ordered an iced cinnamon twist latte with almond milk and a breakfast sandwich. I felt the wait for the items was fair considering they were busy. I thought the latte was good but I like my espresso stronger and the sandwich was good. This spot is the perfect go-to to meet up with friends and grab a cup of joe! The baked goods are amazing and all made in house. You can see them baking on the other side. We had fresh pumpkin bread that they had just taken out of the oven. The hospitality is great. It was pretty good; I just wish there was more ham in it because it didn't fill me up well. I have also tried it in a bagel. Looking at the prices, everything on the menu is affordable. For a drink, I ordered the Cinnamon Twist Latte with oat milk. I would recommend it if you are craving something sweet. The shop also partners up with Pressed Juicery; they have a fridge full of smoothies and juices. The shop is big, and there are plenty of tables inside and outside to study and work. Love this family owned spot. I've been coming here for years and their Border Bagel and Carmelita is my go to! Be aware this place gets busy on the weekend mornings but if you have time it's worth the wait. Mid morning isn't so bad and can be a good study cafe as well. I was quite surprised at how good the iced lattes were. They had a vanilla syrup and a lavender syrup and I asked them to mix the two and the result was delicious! They also offer 3 different sizes which is great if you ever want anything larger than a 16 ounce cup of coffee... because sometimes I do! A pragmatic place for a quick bite. A decent menu of bagels, crepes and sandwiches with a friendly service. We had a couple sandwiches with a nice cup of coffee (Mexican Mocha). Coffee was stellar with a nice aroma and a good shot of caffeine. Sandwiches were decent. However, overall ambience and vibe was subpar (eg., lack of music, lack of warmth from decor) and two wide-door entrances leading to a sterile environment. I love trying boutique, non-chain coffee shops - this place had been on my list for a while and was glad to finally try it today, although a tad bit disappointed. The good news is that there is much room for easy improvements - the menu was perfect and service was great too - just a little work to enhance the atmosphere and vibes can go a really long way!
