    Nova lox on sesame
    Maggie W.

Basket Bagel is a mom and pop ran store that serves a bevy of bagels, croissants, and beverages. My boyfriend got the chicken provolone on a jack bagel, and I got the salmon lox on a sesame bagel. These bagels have an excellent texture when toasted, the tough crunchy exterior paired with the chewy soft interior is perfect. I liked the salmon lox a lot, they did not skimp on the onion, tomato, or salmon for mine! My boyfriend liked the chicken provolone a lot, this scratched the bagel itch that the both of us had. It was a little wet though, there were juices dripping from the bagel so definitely don't eat this in your car!

I've come here 2x so far & would likely be a regular if I lived in the area haha. Very clean & welcoming spot - breakfast and lunch bagels have been a hit. I got the turkey avo club as well as the sausage egg cheese & both were very well made. Viet iced coffee and black coffee is strong! Service is quick and they have lots of snacks and drinks as well. They've been open for 5 months - definitely come check this place out!

This new bagel shop opened in one of those "cursed" spots in this complex that has been a bunch of different places. We are hoping that Basket Bagel sticks around! This location is relatively easy to park at since there is a huge lot, though there are a lot of businesses in the area. When you walk in, you can see the huge variety of different sandwiches and a case full of fresh bagels. There are plenty of places to sit. I got the lox sandwich on a poppy seed bagel. All the bagels looked really fresh. The bagel was nicely toasted, and the sandwich came with onions, tomato, and capers. I also tried one of the sandwiches on a croissant last month that someone brought me, and it was really good I definitely want to go back and try one of the coffees since it looked like a good selection. Also desserts looked good as well. I think this is a good place for brunch or lunch!

Very cute new bagel shop in the center at the corner of Meridian and Hillsdale. Had no idea this place had opened so decided to give it a try. I am a bagelholic and am always on the hunt for the perfect bagel. And this one is in my neighborhood so that's a huge bonus. The shop is open, spacious, and clean. I was greeted immediately. Service with a smile. The place felt welcoming and comfortable. A nice spot to relax with friends or to get some work done (they have free WiFi). We need more "third spaces" and this one is perfect for that. There's even a little outdoor patio with plenty of tables and chairs. Was craving something with a little spice so opted for a jalapeño and cheddar bagel toasted with cream cheese. The bagel was toasted well and had just the right amount of cream cheese. Quick prep time without a lot of waiting around. The bagel texture was on the softer side, probably optimal for their bagel sandwiches, versus the more dense kind you'll find at a place like Boichik. The jalapeño was abundant but not spicy. It wasn't the perfect jalapeño and cheese bagel I'm on the hunt for, but it was good. I give the bagel a 4/5. Overall I'd give them a 4.5/5 but the service and ambiance really push it up to a 5. I plan to come back to try a different bagel and a boba tea. Happy to support an independent shop and hope they do well.

Nice variety of bagel sandwiches and cafe drinks. We ordered the pesto chicken and pastrami bagel sandwiches. The fillings were generous and the toasted bagels tasted flavorful and chewy. Service was caring and prompt and the cafe is spacious and neat.

    Vietnamese coffee. Delicious!

Delicious! The owners own the Donut Basket on Ross and Branham ave so you'll get the same delicious bagels and coffee at their new location. This new location offers their delicious bagels and pastries but keep in mind this new location does not offer donuts. There is plenty of parking and ample seating inside. I ordered a spinach, ham and egg sandwich on a plain bagel and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both were delicious! The lady who helped me with my order was super nice too, I wish I got her name. Give their new location a try!

Their turkey , egg and cheese sandwich is TOO DIE FOR. It is freshly made and tastes so incredibly well. Great service, super clean environment and conveniently located near a few shopping plazas.

Phenomenal bagel sandwiches for great prices. So good. Great place to get some work done or just grab a quick bite with your friends. My go to is the sausage egg and bacon on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. I literally have dreams about this order on some nights.

Half of a Roast Beef Sandwich and Half of a Turkey Avocado Sandwich both on Sesame seed bagel.
    Lena A.

Wonderful customer service! I purchased the Roast beef sandwich on a sesame seed bagel for my mom and I had a Turkey Avocado Sandwich on a Sesame seed Bagel. They were Amazing! The bagels were perfectly toasted yet soft. The sandwiches had fresh produce that made them so flavorful and delicious! The cafe was very clean and was set up so nicely.

Basket Bagel Cafe is the latest newcomer located in a busy strip mall along Hillsdale Avenue with ample parking. I just happened to passed by when I noticed their banner out front upon entry I was greeted by two staff employees and the place is clean, spacious so inviting that I chose to dine-in since there were no other customer. By the way they do have a large outdoor seating which is real nice on a day like this. Browsing through the menu I chose #22 chicken provolone and a large cup size Vietnamese iced coffee. I must admit the asiago bagels were a good solid healthy meal generous portion fresh veggies tender juicy chicken crispy simply delicious would definitely have that again. Judging by the reviews I can see why Basket Bagel is rated very highly giving the competitors run for their money. They're opened seven days a week during daylight hours and not in the evenings by the way they do accept cash.

When the two young girls finally walked out they didn't wash their hands (which I appreciated) and took my order. I was gonna get a bagel but then when I looked at the case I saw a "hot link and cheese". I assumed it was a croissant and that was my bad for assuming that bc it didn't say croissant. The girl asked if I wanted it heated up- I said yes- I thought they'd toast it but it was definitely microwaved. And then biting in, I was expecting a croissant but it wasn't flaky or light- it was the dough of a pork bun. It was sweet, but it was as heavy and I wanted a croissant. Looking back at the case- It just said "hot link and cheese", it was next to a "ham and cheese" which I also initially assumed was a croissant but if the hot link was a bun, I'm guessing the ham and cheese was also a bun. For the actual bun, it wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything special. It was a boiled hot link inside of a bun. I would have preferred a char to the hot link and the bottom of the bun had cheese but I think it all fell to the bottom. I think I should prob try a bagel before writing this off completely. Again, it wasn't bad but I don't think I'd ever crave a boiled hot link in a Chinese like bun in the future.

I was first introduced by my high school teacher and ever since then, i've been coming back. Once i got the cinnamon crunch, i've never gone back. I love that when you order a dozen, it gets you an extra bagel and 2 whole cream cheeses or 4 small ones! You do need to ask for it to be cut if you like, I believe it's an addition charge. This is a small place tucked into a larger retail center. It's located next to one of their smaller lots, and there weren't any spots so I parked that one of the bigger lots in the retail center. It's a tiny shop with a handful of tables indoors and out. There doesn't seem to be a lot of pride and maintaining the space, it kind of gave me old-school donut shop vibes. I greeted the person out the register and asked them how they were doing, not a lot of personality coming back my way. It almost seemed like I was disturbing them. I went for a lox with the works on a toasted everything bagel. From the crunchiness of the bagel to the healthy portions of the ingredients, this sandwich held up to others that I've had elsewhere. I was surprised that my bagel and coffee came out to 20 bucks, which is definitely more expensive than I pay at some of my regular spots.

Their bagels are delightfully dense and slightly chewy, with a great snap from the crust. They're a little bit heavier than my average NYC bagel, but they've definitely mastered the NYC-style ginormous schmear of cream cheese and/or loaded breakfast sandwich. I've enjoyed their bagels in both sandwich form (huge fan of the whitefish salad with cucumbers and tomatoes for a more protein-rich / substantive meal) and with just a generous helping of cream cheese (of which they have quite a few flavors, including several vegan options). They don't have a _ton_ of bagel flavors, but they do have all the classics. Boichik also has a surprising love for pumpernickel; while the classic pumpernickel is delicious, I'm a huge fan of their pumpernickel caraway salt for a bit of extra herb flavor and savoriness.
