    Vietnamese Iced Coffee
    Bridget O.

Stopped in to kill time while waiting for my reservation at the restaurant on the corner. The shop is small but clean. Tried the Vietnamese iced coffee, talk about strong and sweet. The lady behind the counter was very polite and the coffee was made fresh to order definitely worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

I was working in the area and saw this place conveniently nearby. I stopped by to see what would speak to me and that I'd like to eat that morning. The ham and cheese croissant w jalapeño really hit the spot. I know donuts and croissants are kinda generic so you don't really expect things to be different from other places. I've actually had some below average ham and cheese croissants so this place was a pleasant surprise with the above average performance lol.. You'll find plenty of parking here being that they share a parking lot with a bunch of businesses including Safeway. I'd say the main reason why I felt inclined to write this review aside from the quality and top customer service. I was helped by a young man with a great attitude and speedy service during the morning rush.

Ate these 2 lovelies on my balcony with a creamy glass of whole milk! Yummy yummy nom nom nom..... LoL

Dang I love donuts! As a self certified donut connoisseur I can say with all conviction these donuts are delicious! I got 2, a chocolate old fashioned and a pink glazed cruller. The old fashioned was perfect, with the added taste of nutmeg which I definitely liked. The cruller was a true light and airy cruller which is hard to find anymore and the pink glaze had a lovely strawberry flavor to it. I took my donuts home to enjoy with a glass of creamy whole milk. It cost me $15 for 6 donuts for me and the fam bam but this is to be expected in today's inflated economy. Although technically it was like free for me because I found $15 cash yesterday ..... so hey.....

Business hours not accurate they open whenever they want, don't come here if you planned to bring donuts. Unreliable

Update ordered just one donut for myself while i was here just to try, and it was cold after the young guy with glasses told me they just came out also telling me the apple fritters i was curious for at 5 am were glazed just waiting to be boxed but couldn't cause they were wet. Waste of money yall im so serious and i hate leaving reviews

    $30 worth of donuts

I've been coming to this shop for over 20yrs, mostly under previous ownership when I lived around the corner in WG. Now I live in the RoseGarden neighborhood but stopped this morning to pick up donuts on my way to the office. It's my third time back under new ownership and first time picking up donuts for the office, so let's just say I was shocked at the price tag. Just under $30 for a dozen random everyday donuts, a small coffee and a cinnamon twist. Donuts are fine, but man, this is unbelievable pricing. Are all donut shops this high? I wouldn't be surprised to pay this for Stan's hot and fresh donuts, but for this? Also, can we stop using these flat boxes for donuts? They are horrible for carrying. Finally, is it too much to ask for real creamer or half and half? Just a giant jug of powdered creamer. No thanks.

    UBE Cake Donut

The ube cake donut is unique and tasty. There are very few donut shop that have a good ube cake like this.

Delicious fresh donuts and great drinks! Friendly staff & clean shop with a good variety of items on the menu.

Awesome chocolate glazed cronut. Soft flakey layers without being oily.

Cronuts and the sugar donut are great! Love that the yeast raised donuts are pillowy soft. Their iced Vietnamese coffee is also good!

I'd read in the Yelp reviews that a line forms out the door in the morning, but I thought that was only on the weekends. Nope. I got there on a Thursday morning right as they opened at 6am and there was already a line. It took about 15 min. to get to the counter to place my order. Stan's makes the donuts right there in the front of the shop, so they are completely fresh. I ordered one chocolate French cruller and one chocolate crème-filled glaze. The cruller was wonderful. Airy and soft with delicious chocolate on top. Should have ordered two of those. The chocolate crème-filled was not as good. It was too crispy on the outside and had too much warm crème inside. I might have liked it better if I hadn't first eaten the perfect cruller. Stan's only takes cash, but they have an ATM machine in the shop. There is a large shared parking lot. Phone orders must be placed 24 hours in advance. I'll be back for more crullers and to try an apple fritter, which are only served on Mondays.

When you walk in, youre greeted with a huge display case of their beautiful donuts! I came in for the first time the other day and I was greeted with a warm welcome upon walking inside. (It wasn't busy at the time i went so i got to take my time choosing my donuts). Amber was so sweet, she helped me box up my order and went over the flavors of the donuts i chose before closing the box in front of me. I got the black sesame, churro, matcha hazelnut, chocolate hazelnut, melona and the blueberry cream filled. Let me tell you these donuts are perfect if you dont like anything too sweet. My mom who usually splits one donut over the span of 3-4 days to finish, ate her entire blueberry donut in one sitting without even sharing. They do recommend that you enjoy them asap or to place them in an airtight container so they don't dry out. I did not do so, so my donut dried out (eating a dry but delicious day old donut as i write this). All in all my experience was amazing and I will definitely be coming back to try that guava donut if its there!!! I also recommend checking out and exploring their website. They have a gallery of the donuts they've created and case studies of how they come up with their flavors!

I've been seeing videos of their poke and decided to try it out. After having it two times, I would say the poke is okay. Also, they forgot to give me seaweed salad the first time I tried it. While the poke is budget friendly, you get what you pay for in quality. It's decent and filling, but quality doesn't compare to higher priced poke shops ($18-$20). The poke kind of reminded me of Basa Seafood in SF, which I wasn't a fan of, and Basa is also known for cheaper prices. MoDo only offers tuna poke and I am a salmon girly. I'm not sure if they plan to expand their selections, but if you wish to try their poke bowls, get the half n half. BTW, I believe staff should be mindful of the rice temperature. My friend visited on a BOGO day and said her bowl was super hot. By the time she arrived home, some of the poke was half-cooked. I also came on a BOGO day but did not experience this.

I was delighted from the first bite. The prefilled donut holes are different from the regular ones. They are glazed and more similar to a cream puff which makes them super tasty. If you like fudge brownies you'd like these. My issue was the burnt almond cake, both vanilla slices were on the dry side. Customers usually come in, grab what they need, pay, and head out, which keeps things moving smoothly. One of the best things about this bakery is the incredible variety of pastries and breads. Don't skip the refrigerated section either! They carry fruit sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, fried bread, donuts, somen noodles in a cup, and other delicious grab-and-go items. They also offer rice balls and drinks that can be ordered at the register. If you're in the area, definitely stop by and give them a try. Small businesses like this deserve our support!

Clover Bakery & Cafe is a small Japanese-style bakery and café that feels like the kind of…read moreneighborhood spot you randomly discover and keep coming back to. We walked into a cozy, compact space with shelves filled with freshly baked breads, pastries, and prepared foods, all arranged in a way that makes you want to browse slowly even though the shop is small. The atmosphere has that simple, welcoming feel reminiscent of the small bakeries you find throughout Japan, focusing more on quality and variety than on a large café setup. Seating is limited, so it is better suited for grabbing something to go rather than spending a long time inside. The biggest draw here is the combination of Japanese baked goods and savory items. The bakery selection offers a great mix of sweet and savory options, with classics like melon pan standing out for its crisp sugary topping and soft interior that stays light without being dry. The curry bread and croquette bread are also popular choices, both feeling comforting and freshly made rather than overly sweet or greasy. The bakery items are reasonably priced, which makes it easy to pick up multiple things without feeling like you are spending too much, and the variety means there is always something new to try. The onigiri selection is what really makes Clover stand out compared to a typical bakery. They offer a variety of rice balls with fillings like spicy tuna, tuna mayo, and unagi, making it a great option for a quick breakfast or light meal. The rice is well balanced and the fillings give each onigiri a different personality. The spicy tuna has a nice kick that comes through without overpowering the rice, while the unagi adds a sweeter, more savory flavor that works especially well with the slightly salty rice. The onigiri are a practical, satisfying choice for anyone looking for something more substantial than a pastry. Beyond the baked goods and onigiri, Clover also has drinks, sandwiches, and desserts including cakes and other pastries. The strawberry cake is a nice lighter dessert option, and the overall menu gives plenty of reasons to visit whether you are looking for breakfast, a snack, or something to bring home. The offerings feel thoughtfully selected, with enough variety to cover different cravings without making the menu feel scattered. Service is friendly and efficient, and the small size of the shop adds to the charm. Since it has become a popular local spot, some items can sell out during busy hours, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Parking can also be a little challenging during peak times, but the quick grab-and-go style makes the visit easy to manage. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a great stop for anyone who enjoys Japanese bakeries. The combination of fresh breads, affordable prices, and unique savory options like onigiri makes it feel different from a standard bakery. It is the type of place where it is worth picking up a few items and trying a mix of everything, leaving you with the sense that you have found a little neighborhood gem that delivers on both quality and variety.
