Donut Den is located in a tiny strip mall off of De La Cruz Blvd. There are only about four shops in the mall, and it's right next to Subway Sandwiches. Parking could be tough during peak hours. CASH ONLY! So, plan ahead. I picked up a dozen donuts. The signage says $24, which I thought was steep. But, when he rang it up, it was only $16 for one dozen. The donuts are classic flavors. No frilly, wild concoctions. Glazed donut was good, decent. Chocolate Old Fashion. Dark chocolate and the edges were crispy. Overall 3.5 stars.

CASH ONLY. On my drive over to get my massage from Ross Massage, I considered going to Kenny's Cafe but alas they were closed for the day and also on the other side of the street. It was a hot day and I needed a drink and didn't feel like going to Subway next door. I got a sugar cruller donut and decided to relive my middle school days and quenched my thirst with the class Jasmine iced tea. I was promptly assisted by someone in the back. I asked if I could please have a cup of ice (they don't serve fountain drinks here, just hot coffee/ tea and a fridge of drinks). I was asked if I was ok with using the paper cups for the hot coffee (because iced drinks is not a standard item here) and I was grateful to get anything. Considering they were closing in 10 minutes I asked if it was ok for me to take a seat at the table and they said of course. I ended up sitting a little past closing time and a customer after me and I didn't get a sense of being rushed out. I'll return again!

I've stopped here a few times in the past 6 years I've worked in the vicinity. Each time I've been warmly greeted and they get you outta there in record time. They have donuts, coffee, bagels and an array of sandwiches. I knew I had to work through lunch and didn't bring one from home so stopped in. You can't really go wrong with a turkey club on a croissant. Veggies were fresh, lots of turkey and bacon and the croissant was huge. Croissant was flaky and soft. Sandwich comes standard with red onion and jalapeños so if you aren't a fan make the request to omit these ingredients when you order it. Parking can get a little "hairy". If you can park on the curb in front of Subway, you may be safer. The parking lot is tight and shared with 2 other places. I'll be back, I'm sure.

Yum donuts! Have driven by this donut shop a few times and finally decided to pick up a dozen on my way to work for a co-worker's birthday. The donuts were fresh and fluffy! Had a big variety to pick from at 7:45 am and the employees were friendly. Regular donuts are 6 for $7, the jelly and custard are a little more and the apple fritters are $2.25. I picked glazed, crumb raised glazed, glazed old fashioned, chocolate custard and apple fritters. They were all tasty, the chocolate custard could have a bit more filling though. My favorite was the apple fritter! They were nice and crunchy and huge! Will definitely be back for more. Their breakfast sandwiches also sound yummy so will have to try those sometime too. Also, they are a cash only business would be great if they started taking credit cards.

This place is your classic donut shop! Note that they are strictly cash only. They've got the standard flavors, old fashion donuts, bars, twists, donut holes, apple fritters, and hot coffee brewing. I drive by this place every day and have only been able to drop by once since I rarely carry cash, but nothing beats this style of donuts. No over-the-top flavors, no gimmicks, just classic fluffy donuts. I picked up a dozen of a mixed variety which came out to $15. I brought these to work and they were gone instantly. Safe to say I'll be coming back here for more!

I'd read in the Yelp reviews that a line forms out the door in the morning, but I thought that was only on the weekends. Nope. I got there on a Thursday morning right as they opened at 6am and there was already a line. It took about 15 min. to get to the counter to place my order. Stan's makes the donuts right there in the front of the shop, so they are completely fresh. I ordered one chocolate French cruller and one chocolate crème-filled glaze. The cruller was wonderful. Airy and soft with delicious chocolate on top. Should have ordered two of those. The chocolate crème-filled was not as good. It was too crispy on the outside and had too much warm crème inside. I might have liked it better if I hadn't first eaten the perfect cruller. Stan's only takes cash, but they have an ATM machine in the shop. There is a large shared parking lot. Phone orders must be placed 24 hours in advance. I'll be back for more crullers and to try an apple fritter, which are only served on Mondays.

I've been seeing videos of their poke and decided to try it out. After having it two times, I would say the poke is okay. Also, they forgot to give me seaweed salad the first time I tried it. While the poke is budget friendly, you get what you pay for in quality. It's decent and filling, but quality doesn't compare to higher priced poke shops ($18-$20). The poke kind of reminded me of Basa Seafood in SF, which I wasn't a fan of, and Basa is also known for cheaper prices. MoDo only offers tuna poke and I am a salmon girly. I'm not sure if they plan to expand their selections, but if you wish to try their poke bowls, get the half n half. BTW, I believe staff should be mindful of the rice temperature. My friend visited on a BOGO day and said her bowl was super hot. By the time she arrived home, some of the poke was half-cooked. I also came on a BOGO day but did not experience this.

This is the first time I've had Korean croquettes (I'm used to Japanese ones), and maybe Korean style croquettes are like this. The croquette itself was crispy, crunchy, and chewy, so I think they do an amazing job with the crust! Twisted Donuts - like a churro without the cinnamon. It was crispy and chewy and sweet, not bad. I prefer this over normal churros :) Beef bulgogi korokke - a bit dry and wish it had a stronger flavor. The beef bulgogi wasn't the best in terms of flavor either. Crab Meat korokke - a bit dry and didn't have much of a crab taste. It felt like something was missing. However, service was great so I'm adding a star to my review. We walked into a cozy, compact space with shelves filled with freshly baked breads, pastries, and prepared foods, all arranged in a way that makes you want to browse slowly even though the shop is small. The atmosphere has that simple, welcoming feel reminiscent of the small bakeries you find throughout Japan, focusing more on quality and variety than on a large café setup. Seating is limited, so it is better suited for grabbing something to go rather than spending a long time inside. The biggest draw here is the combination of Japanese baked goods and savory items. The bakery selection offers a great mix of sweet and savory options, with classics like melon pan standing out for its crisp sugary topping and soft interior that stays light without being dry. The curry bread and croquette bread are also popular choices, both feeling comforting and freshly made rather than overly sweet or greasy. The bakery items are reasonably priced, which makes it easy to pick up multiple things without feeling like you are spending too much, and the variety means there is always something new to try. The onigiri selection is what really makes Clover stand out compared to a typical bakery. They offer a variety of rice balls with fillings like spicy tuna, tuna mayo, and unagi, making it a great option for a quick breakfast or light meal. The rice is well balanced and the fillings give each onigiri a different personality. The spicy tuna has a nice kick that comes through without overpowering the rice, while the unagi adds a sweeter, more savory flavor that works especially well with the slightly salty rice. The onigiri are a practical, satisfying choice for anyone looking for something more substantial than a pastry. Beyond the baked goods and onigiri, Clover also has drinks, sandwiches, and desserts including cakes and other pastries. The strawberry cake is a nice lighter dessert option, and the overall menu gives plenty of reasons to visit whether you are looking for breakfast, a snack, or something to bring home. The offerings feel thoughtfully selected, with enough variety to cover different cravings without making the menu feel scattered. Service is friendly and efficient, and the small size of the shop adds to the charm. Since it has become a popular local spot, some items can sell out during busy hours, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Parking can also be a little challenging during peak times, but the quick grab-and-go style makes the visit easy to manage. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a great stop for anyone who enjoys Japanese bakeries. The combination of fresh breads, affordable prices, and unique savory options like onigiri makes it feel different from a standard bakery. It is the type of place where it is worth picking up a few items and trying a mix of everything, leaving you with the sense that you have found a little neighborhood gem that delivers on both quality and variety.
