This place is under new management and OMG what a complete 180 turn around. The establishment is very clean now and the donuts bring me back to my childhood. Very traditional in all the best ways. I'm so happy we have a local donut shop that makes delicious donuts. No more driving 2+ miles. Don't hesitate guys. New owners have resurrected this once dead shop and absolutely deserve everyone's business. Especially from the locals. Get out there and support small business owners.

So decided to try this donut shop as it was nearby. Annoying thing is they open very late at 6:30, other donut shops open by 5am (maple leaf) or 6 am etc The vibe of this shop was very unwelcoming and the lighting was dim. No place to sit or eat. Also the coffee wasn't delivered serve . The donut selection was very limited and not very exciting. The donuts also had an over tanned look. Sure they were a bit soft at first but then tasted crunchy. They do not take credit card, you need cash handy. That is a huge negative since customers rarely will have cash on hand. The looks of the glazed and even chocolate didn't look tasty but atleast tasted a bit better than how they looked. 2 donuts and small coffee was $5.15 Coffee tasted alright, I would recommend this store to take credit card, open earlier, maybe fix the inside of the store to have seating room, have more donuts available. (I went at 6:35/40am) as well.

New ownership and new name is Rainbow Donuts. OMG so delicious and consistent, tried three times before writing this review. Our new neighborhood favorite. We've tried the chocolate raised, glazed raised, krullers, apple fritters, and donut holes. All excellent.

I'm so happy that I moved into a neighborhood with such an amazing donut shop! My father would buy donuts pretty often for our family so growing up I had my fair share of donut eating experience; however this place is phenomenal! Maybe it's the best because of the amazing family that runs it, or maybe it's because the donut holes melt in your mouth --whatever the reason, I love this place and I tell anyone with ears about this place.

    Glazed twists, and chocolate glazed

While the presentation of the glazed donuts are not ideal (glaze runs down the sides which makes them sloppy looking), they are fresh, doughy, and taste pretty good. They also good variety. They accept Venmo, Apple Pay, or cash only (no credit cards).

Maple glazed, matcha glazed, maple old fashion, glazed old fashion, donut holes, chocolate glazed

Hands down the best donuts! Thick, doughy, dense, and light all in one. I compare all other donut shops to BEST and nothing compares. She really does make the BEST maple glazed donut.

Sweet lady, and sweet donuts! Would recommend.

We got half a dozen of nearly all the flavors and they did not disappoint. Ube, black sesame, cookies n cream, matcha, glazed, and dark chocolate (tasted more like milk chocolate though). Soft, chewy, warm, and the glaze was the perfect amount of sweetness for the Asian palate, which is to say: NOT TOO SWEET; the highest compliment, of course. They also have poke here, which I may try next time. And while you're waiting for the glaze dipper to do their magic, there is a fun 10-second buzzer game to try your luck for a freebie mochi!!! We did not win. 9.84 seconds was our best attempt. :( but our mochi cheered us up :)

While there wasn't an option to customize the poke bowl with additional toppings like some other poke places offer, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of salmon. The fish was fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the bowl. To finish off the meal, I had the Churro Mochi Donut, and it did not disappoint. It had a crispy exterior with a soft, chewy mochi center, coated with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar. It was the perfect sweet treat after the savory poke bowl. Overall, the meal was satisfying, the portions were generous, and I would happily order from MoDo Hawaii again whenever I'm craving fresh poke and a delicious dessert.

This is the first time I've had Korean croquettes (I'm used to Japanese ones), and maybe Korean style croquettes are like this. The croquette itself was crispy, crunchy, and chewy, so I think they do an amazing job with the crust! Twisted Donuts - like a churro without the cinnamon. It was crispy and chewy and sweet, not bad. I prefer this over normal churros :) Beef bulgogi korokke - a bit dry and wish it had a stronger flavor. The beef bulgogi wasn't the best in terms of flavor either. Crab Meat korokke - a bit dry and didn't have much of a crab taste. It felt like something was missing. However, service was great so I'm adding a star to my review. The lady at the front was super warm and welcoming. I know they haven't been around for long (last time I was here, a Katsu stall was at this location!), so I wish them the best!! Would be open to trying some of their other flavors.

Plus, they have raised vegan donuts in flavors like sugar, glazed, chocolate, maple, and coconut. There are two vegan donut racks that are clearly labeled and several racks of non-vegan options. I think the pricing is reasonable. All the vegan donuts are $5 each, and I believe the non-vegan options range from $2-$5. They also have coffee, smoothies, and gluten-free options. My favorite donut is the matcha pistachio cake donut. Today, they only had plain matcha, which was fine because it's also really good. The cake is fluffy and not too crumbly, and every time I've been here, the donuts taste fresh. I decided to try something new today, so I got the coconut raised donut. I loved the coconut flakes and texture of the donut. What I really enjoy about this place is the friendly young man who usually works here. He's so kind, welcoming, and always greets everyone. His positive energy is a huge help when the line gets long and he never makes you feel rushed. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the mood for a donut!

By the time I arrived, all the donut holes had already sold out, but thankfully there were still apple fritters left. Given how big and satisfying they are, I wasn't complaining. This is one of those classic donut shops where the display cases are loaded with options, but sometimes all you need is a box and a cup of coffee to make your day.
