Sweetest lady at the donut case! She was very friendly and answered all my questions. Note: I heard about the ube and matcha donuts at this location, but they don't make them anymore. If you would like them, you can pre-order them and they will get them from a different location. Donut prices are reasonable, if a little high. Every place is increasing their prices from what I've seen so far though. All donuts pictured was ~$43. Donuts are good and standard. I ate the chocolate glazed and it was good. Love this lil shop. The owners are soooo nice. I got a large sampling of donuts and they were all so good. The standouts were the cinnamon roll-like twist and the blueberry cake one. So decided to try this donut shop as it was nearby. Annoying thing is they open very late at 6:30, other donut shops open by 5am (maple leaf) or 6 am etc The vibe of this shop was very unwelcoming and the lighting was dim. No place to sit or eat. Also the coffee wasn't delivered serve . The donut selection was very limited and not very exciting. The donuts also had an over tanned look. Sure they were a bit soft at first but then tasted crunchy. They do not take credit card, you need cash handy. That is a huge negative since customers rarely will have cash on hand. The looks of the glazed and even chocolate didn't look tasty but atleast tasted a bit better than how they looked. 2 donuts and small coffee was $5.15 Coffee tasted alright, I would recommend this store to take credit card, open earlier, maybe fix the inside of the store to have seating room, have more donuts available. Spotted this place randomly after getting gas and decided to try it and was absolutely blown away at how delicious, fresh and soft the glazed donut was! I did get the cronut holes which I wasn't too much of a fan of but then again I'm more of a glazed donut type of gal. Great people, great place, great donuts! I stopped by to grab a few donuts for a friends graduation gift, and I was happy to stumble upon this shop. I came on a Saturday at noon and was greeted by a friendly lady behind the counter. She was so sweet when we spoke, and even added in two additional donut holes with my order! The donuts themselves were light and fluffy with delicious glasses, I tried a Matcha glazed donut which is something you don't see yet every donut shop. It was delicious! I was driving while hungry so I missed the opportunity to take pictures. My first impression of the donuts right away was how the donuts looked sloppy and inconsistent in shape and size. It's hard to do donuts wrong but unfortunately the quality and taste is underwhelming. The taste of these donuts seems off like it's cooked in old oil or something I can't pinpoint. The old fashioned was softer than expected and broke off on its own with a poor shape that resembles nothing like old fashioned. Donut holes have the same odd taste. Bummer. The donuts are enormous, and walked out with 13 donuts and a few donuts holes for $12. Cash only, of course. I'm pretty much a fan of any and all donuts that aren't Krispy Kreme, so I thought my chocolate old fashioned was pretty good. This donut shop was pretty meh. I had driven past it a few times and finally decided to stop in and grab donuts for my family. There were a few people inside ordering so I waited outside to practice social distancing. When it was my turn, I was able to order a dozen donuts (but not a baker's dozen, which kind of annoyed me). The shop itself was pretty grimy, like it really needs a deep clean. For example, there were huge spiderwebs hanging in the corner of the shop. Also, this might've been because of the heat, but a lot of the donuts in the case looked melty and not very appetizing. By the time I got home and had a couple of the donuts, they also tasted pretty basic and nothing to write home about. Overall, I'm sure there are better places to go for good donuts. read more

Ok, I tried this place again today as it is on the way to work for me. It would really be nice to have a good donut place on the way to work. Stan's is great, but traffic is tougher for me to go that way. Anyway, from now on it will either be fight the traffic to go to Stan's or no donuts on the way to work, which is maybe a good thing. This place has quite a variety of donuts and OK prices. The donuts themselves are just not that great. I go in there this morning around 8:30. It's dark and dingy inside on a bright sunny day. Most of the space behind the counter is covered by stacks of various cases of soda and misc. boxes. There are a couple dead 20 year old arcade games in the front window. There is only the one chinese lady working there and she is talking on the phone in chinese. Me being there looking to buy something appears to be an inconvenience to her, but she did impatiently pause her conversation to serve me. I ask her which are the freshest donuts, pointing to the ones on the rack and she says no and points to the whole glass case, which is obviously not true. Well I order a couple donuts and a coffee. The coffee is OK, but no better than the standard bunn coffee machine from the 60's. The donuts are barely above the quality you get out of the self service case at Safeway. If there was a decent grocery store in that area, I would go there instead. Lack of same is probably why this place survives. read more

I went here for the first time since I was near this part of town. The place is really rustic and has a real local business feel for sure. I had a French twist and asked if he had any custard filled donuts and he said, he could make anyone of the ones i pointed to filled with it. Since it's my first time, the French twist donut and powdered donut filled with custard are really light. It was already post lunch and I wanted an afternoon snack, but these donuts were very delicate and not stiff as other places. The vanilla? custard filling was good. I liked the old video games, even though they didn't work. I remember playing some of them when I was young and it goes to show how long this business has been around. If you want some donuts that get you the bit or lot, of sugar you desire with a cup of coffee, try this place out. I'm also a fan of helping out hard working folks with local businesses who deliver their own version of what donuts are vs. the big franchises. When I'm in this part of town, I'll plan to go there and pick up a few donuts and try something else next time. read more

This review is strictly based on their donuts. I ordered two chocolate glazed donuts and a chocolate krueller. The donut has chocolate sloppily applied to it and it tastes like artificial chocolate and oversaturated sugar. The donut itself was mushy and not not really formed at all. It was horrible that I didn't even eat my entire donut which never happens. I won't make this mistake again and will turn back to Stan's Donuts even though I'm closer to the other side. read more

These were definitely not the best donuts. They weren't the worst either. But I ordered a half dozen which apparently did not warrant being laid out nicely in a box. My glazed Old Fashioned got chocolate frosting all over it and my chocolate frosted donut was nothing without it's topping. They were edible. Not memorable. Not stale and not fresh. Plus one star for finding a half dozen donut holes thrown in for free. Written in my travelogue: Sometimes "on-the-way" isn't worth it. So much better now! We had stopped coming to this shop because we found the donuts to be super oily a few years back. We live in the neighborhood and wanted to give them another chance and are so glad we did. We find their old fashioned style to be one of the best we've had and we like to try the same donuts at different shops to compare. My friend recently turned me on to this donut shop, it's a little out of the way for me, but unless you preorder the day before, Stan's (my regular/childhood donut shop) can be a hassle, since it's always crowded & the donuts go ridiculously fast. I have been here twice now, and so far i've only tried the chocolate glazed. It is too good!! I already crave them every morning! The donut itself is perfectly cooked, fried to perfection.. The chocolate is rich and quite delightful. The place's interior needs WORK, the walls are stained yellow from the old times when smoking was allowed in almost every building. And the seats, stools, and counters are outdated. There are all sorts of other snacks to eat (stocked up behind the counter everywhere and in plain sight) but i'd say stick to what's in the name "DONUTS" I will definitely be back to try more donuts, and everytime I come back I will always get a fresh chocolate glazed with whatever else I decide to try!
