I'm not a huge boba/milk tea fan so I guess take this as a review from someone with pretty superficial knowledge. I tried two drinks, a Vietnamese iced coffee made less sweet and a 3/4 sweet peach... peach something. I forget the name, but the menu is small it's the peach one. Both were fantastic. Definitely on the sweet side but not "this is melted ice cream" sweet like I've had at some places. I'd still probably get the peach one 50% next time. The Vietnamese iced coffee was very intensely flavored, had a great texture, and for whatever reason wasn't as hyper-caffeinated as some I'd had. I've had some Vietnamese coffees that made me feel like I was going to bounce off the walls, this was more mellow. But it still has the strong coffee flavor I'm used to. The peach drink was super refreshing, full of peach flavor, but again the level of sugar wasn't cloying at all. And the little chunks of peach added a nice texture to the experience. Again, not an expert on milk tea/boba, but this was probably some of the best I've had, definitely the best I can remember. Inside the shop is a bit spartan but there's seating for a few groups. You order via a kiosk and then someone brings the drinks out to the counter, so it's a bit impersonal. They take credit cards and the parking lot is a little tight. read more

I was using the ATM at Meriwest C.U., and my daughter went to the M TeaShop to get us drinks. (First time here) Once I got my cash, I joined her inside the teashop. My daughter showed me what she had ordered me at the kiosk. I thought great, and took pictures of the inside of the shop (it was empty) We sat down, and noticed the height of the table was very low to the benches, and the stools were very squat, more child sized. I did think the shop was nicely decorated, and appeared clean. I asked my daughter did she see any employees when she arrived, and she replied no. I thought that was weird, and she laughed and said she ordered and paid through the kiosk. After a while a lady appear from behind the curtain, and said "Your order", no eye contact or smile. We grabbed our drinks, and walked out, taking sips of our different teas. Mine was very sweet, and my daughters was very strong, it tasted over brewed and too sweet. When I went back to politely inform the staff about the mistake, the employee named Chloe was visibly annoyed, made faces, and told me she could not provide a refund or replacement because she had too many orders to handle. Also no one answers the call as i did call multiple times before heading back to the store. Mistakes can happen in any busy store, and I would have completely understood if the issue had been handled professionally. What was upsetting was the dismissive attitude and lack of customer service. As a paying customer, I expected a simple acknowledgment of the error and a reasonable effort to correct it. Instead, I felt ignored and treated as if I was inconveniencing the staff for bringing up a problem with my order. I had a craving for a sweet drink, and this was the only place nearby so I stopped in. It was in a small, not busy plaza across from Target. There were no one inside. You order from the kiosk on the counter which I liked. I waited for about 5 minutes and someone came out with my drink. The shop felt kinda depressing because no one was there and it was super quiet. I ordered the matcha, half sweet, with house milk. It came with boba. The matcha drink was ok, but the boba was really good. It was the right amount of chewiness and sweetness. I walked down to the back to find the bathroom and there was a sign saying to "see employee for code". Their menu has so many yummy sounding drinks. I decided to go with the white peach milk tea. I ordered it half sweet and less ice cream with caramel boba. While it was very good, I did not taste any peach flavor. My son said he tasted it a little bit. My friend and I were looking for a new milk tea shop to try out and picked this one as it was close to her house and looked promising. Inside is on the smaller side - there are some bar stools near the front of the shop and a few tables/chairs in the lobby area. It has a nice, relaxing atmosphere and I could imagine hanging out with some friends/family or date on a nice day out. Ordering is done at the kiosk with staff preparing drinks behind the curtains inside the kitchen area. They offer a good variety of drinks - teas/milk teas, matcha series, coffee/espresso and some specialty drinks. M Teashop also offers milk substitution, toppings/foam and customization of sugar/ice. After looking through the menu - we both decided to try the same thing - the brown sugar milk tea. I ordered mine with boba, while my friend did not. After waiting a few minutes, the staff (owner?) came out and informed us that the boba would take another 10-15 minutes and asked if I wanted to wait or get some other topping instead. I opted for the lychee jelly and our drinks came out a few minutes later. It was delicious! I enjoyed the flavor and lychee jelly is always a nice addition. Since it was a nice day out and the shop was quiet, we sat there and had a nice time catching up for a bit. The staff came back out and since she noticed we were still there - asked if I wanted my boba now. I laughed, thanked her and said I'll have to try it next time since I already had the lychee jelly. I thought that was very nice of her! A few weeks later, I went back and ordered the brown milk tea again - this time with the boba. Happy a new boba shop opened up in the area! The ordering system is done all via kiosk/iPads and the menu is well rounded and less complicated than other shops. We got the choco slush (yum!) and the Thai tea tornado (was able to adjust sweetness which is not always the case with Thai tea). Both were really good but quite pricey (around $7 without any toppings). The inside seating area is more spacious than you would think and parking is easy with a shared lot. The only qualm I have about this place which knocked off a star is that they took quite a while to have our drinks ready - I'm used to many other boba shops, working a lot quicker. A new locally owned and operated boba shop in SJ! The interior is very aesthetic and the name is a play-on-words of the Vietnamese word "Em" or "big sister". A cute homage. Here's some drinks that I have tried: + ChaTraMue Thai Tea (5/5): I loooove the brand "ChaTraMue" and the fact that they use it here is awesome! Rich and custard-like Thai Tea. Surprisingly my favorite drink here. I normally never order Thai Tea from boba shops, but I think I might come back here to have it again. + Avocado Slush (4/5): Very creamy and clearly made with a fresh avocado! It's refreshing and has a pleasant sweetness. However, the lychee jelly overpowers this drink for me. Replace it with boba for less sweetness! + Pinky Milky (3/5): Strawberry milk made with fresh berry puree and pink cheese foam. A simple drink made with quality ingredients. Maybe a 3.5? We got the brown sugar boba matcha latte and green milk tea with egg pudding. The matcha was a bit strong for my liking, but my boyfriend liked it. The green milk tea sounded interesting as it was supposed to have a hint of matcha, but it kinda tasted like a bland jasmine milk tea. The egg pudding was really good tho! I wanted to try some other drinks, but the menu was really limited. A lot of drinks on their physical menu wasn't available, even though it wasn't listed as seasonal. I do agree with another review that the location does seem a bit sketchy. I came on Saturday around 6:30pm and it was dark and empty outside, with a few cars.
