This place is a vibe. Old school all over the place. T-shirt designs toys hanging from the ceiling and even a picture of John McClain on the ac vents. Epic. We ordered the lemon pepper wings. Very nice flavor but the wings were just slightly overcooked. We still ate them all. The loaded fries are exactly that loaded bacon chicken cheese very tasty and huge. It's a lot. We ordered a small pizza pepperoni and pineapple. Yes fruit belongs on pizza. Very nicely done. The service was brilliant. Very attentive and engaging we loved this place.

Frothy's is the best place in Charleston for trivia night! Always a great crowd and good vibes. The strawberry blonde ale is my go to. Pizza is pretty good.

Amazing Staff, Cool Location, Tasty Beer. Now let's talk about the pizza. As a person originally from CT which if you don't know, we are known as the BEST PIZZA IN THE US, I saw that they sold pizzas by the slice so I had to try it. Expectations not high when I ordered it. After trying it, I can't lie, I was not upset by it. The thin, crispy, charred crust with the flavorful sauce and the right amount of cheese and pepperoni, I would be lying if I said that when I go back I wouldn't order the pizza again.

Cute spot in a strip mall. On the outside, it doesn't look like anything special. On the inside the artwork is so cute. They made their own cheesy ads for their beer that they had playing in the background. Service was very friendly. We knew coming in at last call that we would not have the chance to try much. Beers that we did try were flavorful. They also have plenty of non alcoholic options which is great too.

I've only come here on Thursdays during trivia and it's always busy! It's a great time but definitely hard to score a table unless you come in early before trivia. Very laid back and casual environment to hang out with friends. I'm not sure how service is usually but it's been a bit slow the times I've gone which I assume is from the business of trivia crowd. I've only tried their chopped cheese, hail caesar, and loaded fries. ALL 3 have been delicious and filling. I love coming for a nice bite and trivia and my friends do enjoy the beer here.

Huge brewery with great food. Indoor and outdoor seating . Kid friendly with baby changing table in bathroom, ramp on deck for stroller/wheelchair access. Vegan friendly impossible burger. Husband said the wings were just ok but him and my son loved their pizza. Great pretzel, very fluffy/airy. Beer flights were available and I recommend Hero, Villian (sour) and Jeepster.

10" custom pizza with double cheese, spinach, garlic, mushroom and pepperoni. It was amazingly tasty!

I stopped by Frothy Beard last night to get a pizza and beer on the way home. I do like their pizza and salad. I am new here to Charleston and at first wasn't aware that they charged a fee for using the credit card at this place. This concerns me because many restaurants do not, and we already have high taxes here. Anyway, i ordered a burratta salad, a beer, and a 10" pizza to go. Salad is small and is literally 4 slices of tomato and 5 thin slices of mozzarella with a skimpy bit of balsamic on top, for 12.00. When i got my bill I was not happy. 47.00 plus tip. 12.00 salad, 8.00. For 8 oz draft Beer, 24.00 for 10" pizza burned on edges; extra 1.50 for extra balsamic for my salad. I questioned The waiter on the 1.50 charge for the balsamic and he said that the balsamic glaze was very expensive and I said on a $12 salad it was hardly even dripped on there and there isn't any other dressing. He shrugged his shoulders and said we would charge you this for extra dressing on any salad . Yikes. So that, with the taxes and cc fee. 47.00 plus tip. This is too pricey for me. Over 50 for a small pizza, small salad and small beer... at a divey pub with picnic tables and a small bar. Sorry Frothy beard! I do like the food, but it's not a gourmet restaurant, and i think your prices are too high. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. And the pizza was burned black on edges of one corner. Disappointing.

My favorite brewery in Charleston, and we visited more than a few. First off, this is a great space. It has ample indoor seating, a righteous game room, and a sweet outdoor patio. The artwork throughout (murals, cans, signage, merch, etc.) is all the work of the on-staff artist/graphic designer. It was very cool. The bartender was outstanding. The beer was well-crafted, and cold, bubbly, and delicious. My favorite beers included: The Tangalorian Tangerine Sour, Tha CommUNITY, and ¡Andale! Pale Ale. If I ever make it back to Charleston, this will be the first place I visit.

I love checking out breweries when I travel and Frothy Beard is a gem. The beer was awesome - especially the strawberry blonde ale and the jeepster ipa. The manager was very friendly and the bartender gave a good history of the brewery which was very cool. I loved the vibe of different fantasy elements incorporated into the brewery as well, it was awesome!

Such a cool spot! My husband are here on vacation and stopped in since it's near our hotel. The bartender was cool and was chatting with us. The drink I ordered had an infused vodka with watermelon jolly ranchers. It was delicious! I also got the baked and confused pizza that was a special. It was a loaded baked potato pizza. It was 10/10 for flavor. I loved it!! My husband got a monster slice of pizza and loved his too. It was huge! There was plenty of seating. Overall I highly recommend!

Does frothy have any good non alcoholic root beer? I love a good artisan root beer. What other food options do they have beside pizza? How is the pizza?

Same... I've never seen house made root beer here but the pizza is pretty good. Check out the Pizza-Dilla too!

They have a bar to serve your favorite beverages. This is a great place for families or just hanging out with friends. I ordered a veggie pizza. This is New York style pizza and the slices are huge. Usually we prefer table service, but honestly the bar is the way to go here since you get a front row seat to the pizza making. We ordered a half pepperoni and half sausage pizza. As I saw the beautiful pies coming out of the oven they were all getting dressed with fresh parm and basil and I was worried I didn't add that for ours, but after feverishly flaging down our server he reasured me that all the pizzas come with the special treatment at the end (unless otherwise noted). As I calmed my nerves I sipped on some delicious bottle of sweet tea. It was only the slightest bit sweet and so refreshing. Plus we ordered a salad as well. We were concerned about the size of the salad when we saw our neighbors come out, but our server let us know we could get a half Caesar if we preferred. The salad is a must have. I love how they just chop the ends off the romain and add the perfect amount of dressing, crunchy bread crumbs, and loads of cheese. The pizza came out shortly after and it was perfection. If you're looking for thin crust northern style pizza then you will definitely find it here. They also use top notch ingredients making this a pizza one to remember. Surprisingly I enjoyed the sausage even more than the pepperoni. We were stuffed after only eating half the pie so we boxed it up and took some cannoli to go. They did half regular and half strawberries that had local strawberries mixed into the ricotta! We enjoyed all of it so much that we ordered the same items for takeout only a week later. I definitely enjoyed dining in more than takeout, but both are a great option. The online ordering was super easy and even though it was slammed when I arrived, they had my pizza, salad, and cannoli ready to go at the window when I arrived.

We waited 15 minutes until my friend got back up and asked them about his slices, it seemed they had forgotten about it and then they quickly handed him his slices after apologizing for the long wait. Despite mine being great, his was not unfortunately. His looks like it was pulled out of the oven early and was still floppy. No crisp to it at all. That's what some people like but I don't believe it's the standard. Despite this, his slices tasted good, I mean, how can you mess up a pep slice. The prices were alright for the area, I think my slice was like almost $4 after tax. I'll probably be back because of the convenience of being able to just order and pay right away and then get a slice a few minutes later. I would overall recommend.

Pizza is also available by the slice, which is what I ended up getting. Originally, I wanted to order an 18-inch cheese pizza, but the waiter told me it would take about 30 minutes and recommended ordering by the slice instead. I tried the cheese pizza by the slice. The pizza had a classic New York-style feel, but my slice was a little dry and slightly burned. It was decent overall, just not the best pizza I've had. If you're looking for a quick carryout spot with New York-style pizza options, it may be worth trying, but I'm not sure it would be my first choice for pizza.

So it's entirely possible (and understandable) that I don't always get the best of what a place has to offer. That said, this was the worst pizza I've ever eaten. I was happy to see a place offer NY style pizza by the slice; you don't find that a lot in Charleston. Well, you won't find it here either. It was, generously, a home cook's first attempt at making pizza. There's something fundamentally off with the dough recipe, such that even a wood fired oven can't save it. The slices were overloaded with cheese. It was like eating wet cardboard. The meatballs were pretty good! The bartender was super pleasant and the space is attractive and welcoming. But they cannot make pizza. Normally I'm loathe to air out my business on Yelp like this; I prefer to communicate with the server if there's a problem with my food. But this wasn't an execution issue that could be fixed. A do-over would've produced the same result. Maybe, MAYBE they crush it with the neopolitan specialty pies. But I'll never know.
