I like this brewery! The taproom has a nice interior design and decor that feels very welcoming. There's also a warehouse/garage type of space attached that has games, additional seating, etc., and opens up to the outside. I liked all of the beers I tried. There was also a food truck outside (Mastro's Fire) where my husband and I ordered a pizza from. I don't mind a greasy pizza and almost prefer it that way, but this one was unpleasantly drowning in grease. This was no fault of the brewery but I just wanted to give anyone reading this a heads up in case you see the same food truck there ;) Also, this place is dog-friendly! I think I will always remember it fondly as the place where I fell out of my chair trying to pet a dog, LOL. My husband and I had a good laugh at my expense but I think I traumatized a poor stranger's dog. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area! read more

PET FRIENDLY- indoor as well! Liked this spot a lot. Its kinda tucked back off the road. Tons of tables indoors and out. We brought cards and had a couple drinks. Luna was very happy to be with us and even sat on the bench for little bit while we hung out. Lots of TVs around airing sports game. They did have a food truck outside which you can grab a burger or a sandwich (not sure if they always have that one or they change etc). The surprising thing to me was how many kids were there. I dont have a problem with kids, but just honestly shocked there were hurds of children running around and playing. Again- totally fine when the parents are watching them, however we were pulling into a parking spot and kids were running. We saw a kid coming at us so we stopped the car, he almost ran right into our parked car because he was not paying attention and the parents were nowhere to be seen. Loved this neat little spot. It's down the end of a long road with plenty of parking. They have no food on site but have food trucks. I went today for a book event that was being hosted and it was nice to grab a drink and check out the books. It's a kid friendly place with arcade games. Pool tables for the adults. I am an IPA man myself and not so much the sours and fruity beers that they mostly offer here.. so with that being said if you're like me and only like IPAs, they only have one offering and it's not a strong IPA either. One of my favorite breweries in Charleston. The atmosphere is bright and cheery and the locals are friendly as all get out. The beertender and the head brewer are great to talk to and might even buy you a pint. I recommend the Sedona Effect, a very crisp and clean WC IPA. You'll recognize the flavors from the simple hops, but the addition of Nelson Sauvin bring an earthiness to this beer. Of course, the Mercy Cloud (wheat ale and Great American Beer Fest medal winner) is fantastic. Lightly breads with nice flavors of orange and warm spice. A new favorite of mine is the Same Old Sidewalks (saison). Wow, just a little bit funky and a little bit fruity. This beer is crisp and finishes well, no doubt due to the Noble hops. We discovered Hobcaw Brewing because they graciously hosted the Angry Giant Forge event, moved from a neighboring brewery because of inclement weather. I'm so glad they were willing because we really enjoyed our visit. They offer plenty of options for tasting flights, as well as beverages other than beer. Service was super friendly! I went here for a Yelp Burger event and decided to try the beer. My go to choice is a sour so I choose the Before I Go. It has a flavor profile of blueberry, vanilla, and cinnamon. It had a really nice taste and mouth feel. I enjoyed the aftertaste more & the blueberry notes were very apparent. There's a lot of seating outside but not a lot inside. Wow! I can't believe I haven't written a review of Hobcaw Brewing yet. I have said so many great things about it to friends, family, and strangers, I suppose I was mistaken. Hobcaw Brewing is hands down one of my favorite places to hang out in Mt. Pleasant. I was so pleased when I first visited here during the pandemic (a place to hang outside and drink safely and comfortably), and I have been coming back ever since. The outdoor seating is vast and abundant, and often times the brewery has food trucks parked right out front for patrons to purchase and enjoy on site. Inside, the facility seems to never end. I feel like I am always discovering a new area to sit or back room to walk in each time I go. There are places to sit near the tap, quiet and cozy seating midway back, and even a large room with bigger tables and seating areas to hangout if you have a larger group. It is not uncommon to see kids and families spending time at Hobcaw Brewing together, and dogs are certainly welcome, too. Everything is clean - restrooms, beer glasses, sitting areas, and the atmosphere is so laid back and chill, I feel like I can truly be myself there (a nice escape from other areas in town). Importantly, beers are delicious, styles varied, and prices reasonable. The bartenders appear to enjoy their job and don't hesitate to provide their recommendations. I have had so much fun at Hobcaw Brewing over last few years, and I hope this is place that will stay for a long, long time. I would certainly consider this for an event venue for birthdays, retirement parties, and large friend gatherings. Great job, Hobcaw! read more

The location allowed for a very large group of people with their Golden Retrievers to have space to sit, stand or mingle. Food truck on site was delicious as well and their beer selection was nice. I've been here a couple of times for Publik Education Trivia Nights. The beer is good and the bartenders are nice. I do wish they had a food menu here though! It has a VERY Mount Pleasant vibe. 1st time visiting Hobcaw. Was there for a spoken word event. Inside is comfy and trendy. The event was in the back area, which has large bay doors. It was hot outside, but they had fans all over, and we picked seats in front of one. I'm not a beer drinker, but they have wine, sours, & ciders on the menu. The service was quick & nice. Opening a new business is never easy, especially a brewery. Throw in a global pandemic, and it's even tougher. Hobcaw Brewing opened in the Fall of 2020, but they've certainly got the beer mastered. Hobcaw Brewing is a simple brewery that serves beer and a few snacks for purchase. They had nine beers on tap and a good variety with IPAs, hops, a sour, and even a hard seltzer. You won't find frose, wine, beer cocktails, or foods made from beer, at least not right now. Food trucks and pop-ups come out occasionally, but if that's not your thing, this exit from I-526 has plenty of restaurants. Anyway, plan to come for the beer and not the "extras". The outdoor area has picnic tables and is shaded to keep you cool. Indoor seating is limited right now, although there's a large room/space attached where yoga classes are held and people can rent it out for events. I had the Young Love sour, which is basically strawberry lemonade in beer form. It's 5.2% ABV but a very easy-to-drink beer for summer. The brew-tender was nice enough to let me try it first, but if you like sours, you'll like this beer. Most beers are available to go as well. Although I didn't see any dogs, Hobcaw Brewing has dog treats on the counter, so I'm guessing they are dog friendly. Parking is plentiful but located near the building and not fenced, so if you bring your pup, keep him leashed. While it's no-frills, I'd definitely come back to Hobcaw Brewing to relax and unwind. We went to Hobcaw twice in the month of May 2021. Once for the Forge your Own Forge in Fire Event and then a couple weeks later on a Friday night for Blackout Burgers. The first time I was there was for the forge event on a Sunday. The weather was perfect! The crowd wasn't that big since we got there right when it opened at noon. Besides the perfect weather, the chill vibe of the place and the people who work there make it really easy to just stay and hang out. Plus they had a sour beer, Young Love that was perfect for me. That's the only sour and the only beer I drank both visits. Friday night with Blackout Burger it was a completely different scene. Packed. Lots of kids. Beers are pretty good! The lot getting to the brewery, and the parking lot itself are pretty flooded, though. Service is good, and they have a nice selection of beers! Flights are available, a self pour water station is available, dog treats are offered for pets, and there is PLENTY of seating, especially if you go through the back door and into the garage. Inside, while cool, was just too loud. With a handful of people we were already shouting at each other. It was advertised as "wing night Wednesday" but the food truck that came only did chicken nuggets. If they were in Yelp I'd review them, but they aren't. Loved this spot! We only stopped in for one beer, but we really liked the space and enjoyed their IPAs. The outdoor space was perfect for us to sit with our dog, and the bucket of truck toys was a HIT with the kids. Seems to be a favorite local spot, especially for young families. My wife and I recently visited Charleston for a friend's wedding. Minneapolis-based beer bloggers, we fit in as many South Carolina breweries as we could in the few days that we had. Hobcaw Brewing was the first South Carolina brewery we visited during our visit, and -- we thought -- it was a great start. The taproom is tucked away in an industrial area, but -- once there -- is really charming. We loved the colors and atmosphere -- very clean and modern, almost coffee shop-like. The weather was nice enough to be outside, where a fire pit was going and live music playing from the stage. The beer was good -- nothing stand-out but definitely enjoyable. We had a chance to chat with the owner Chris, who told us they had opened during COVID, which we admired. I've got a hunch Hobcaw will only continue growing and improving in its local reputation; I'd recommend a visit for sure. This is a wonderful, family friendly craft beer brewery. The owners, Chris and Tiffany, go out of their way to make sure their customers have an enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is set up to be social, with outdoor seating, food trucks, occasional live music, and sports on the televisions. A great new little brewery off Longpoint. They have 6 beers on tap right now- 3 of which are IPAs. I tried all three (and the coffee stout) and each of them were excellent. Very family friendly with lots of outdoor seating. They were very busy- so there was a wait to order beers- but the people there are a nice and honest about the fact they just opened and are still working out the kinks.
