I ordered a single slice of cheese to go. It came out in a timely fashion. It was cooked very well with just enough crisp and black spots but also not burnt or crunchy or anything unpleasant. It was a great slice of pizza. My friend order two slices of pepperoni. We waited 15 minutes until my friend got back up and asked them about his slices, it seemed they had forgotten about it and then they quickly handed him his slices after apologizing for the long wait. Despite mine being great, his was not unfortunately. His looks like it was pulled out of the oven early and was still floppy. No crisp to it at all. That's what some people like but I don't believe it's the standard. Despite this, his slices tasted good, I mean, how can you mess up a pep slice. The prices were alright for the area, I think my slice was like almost $4 after tax. At the time that we were walking along King Street; my dad, brother, and myself became hungry. The cumulative high Yelp-rating led us to Sabatino's Pizza. It turns out, the reviews let us down. Located on Calhoun Street, a shouting distance from King Street and Marion Square, Sabatino's Pizza is primarily a take-out restaurant serving New York style pizza and other comfort food. In the ambiance of this take-out restaurant, we landed the only seat. It overlooked the food counter and menu board. Off the menu board we each ordered the $10.81 lunch special featuring two one-topping slices and a can of soda. The service and food just barely made three stars. Even though we were the only ones there when we walked in and left, there was zero interaction from the woman at the register. We had to look for the plastic utensils, even though she could of told us where they were there when we ordered. She did tell us that they were out of a few sodas. That included diet. The guy making the pizza served two of our pizzas together, then when it came to my brother's order there was only one which made him have to go to the counter to ask for the other one. In truth I wasn't here to make friends but to enjoy a supposedly four star New York style pizza. The two slices just barely made three stars. Although the pizza was decent at best, especially when I was hungry, there were areas of the cheese that were stuck to the crust. Ahhh definitely had high hopes for this pizza. This was supposed to be our first good meal for Bach weekend. I must say we were definitely disappointed by the quality of the pizza. Very think and cardboard tasting. They advertised a no cheese pizza for non-dairy consumers. It was a very thin layer of sauce with sporadic onions and peppers sprinkled throughout. You can't really go in and just order by the slice for the non dairy option, we had to buy it whole. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. Staff was an easy 5 stars. This was so great to stumble upon for some "after dinner pizza!" We walked up to the counter to order and service was helpful and friendly. This spot has true jumbo slices and they were pretty good! It's a small side street shop, so you would benefit from getting the pizza and taking it back to you hotel, but there are a few tables inside and outside if you want to eat your pizza while it's hot. They have a cold case inside with salads and a few desserts to round out your order. I would definitely come back again and try out some other pizza flavors besides the classic cheese. read more

If i could leave 0 stars i would. I ordered 3 slices one Sicilian one grandma and a plain and all 3 were not hot or crispy. They all tasted like cold dough and sauce. The Sicilian slice was open like a book with the cheese falling off of It. The sauce tasted like jarred tomato sauce with oregano in It. The only thing edible was the garlic knots. It's nearly impossible to get lunch for ten bucks these days, but you can still get two slices and a drink at Sabatino's! I got pepperoni so it was slightly more, but what a deal. The pizza here is super thin NY style, but they're big so two slices will fill you up at lunch time. I even saw some CofC girls come in and split the two slice deal. It's a tiny spot on the corner of King and Calhoun, but they have a few seats inside and a couple tables outside too. The services is pretty quick, but they do get busy at lunch time. I was so hungry I forgot to get a picture! I stopped in around 9:45p for a slice after not having a satisfying dinner (imagine that). I ordered a slice of pepperoni and after about 5 mins or so, I had a piping hot, crispy slice of delicious pizza. The crust was awesome, as was the sauce, cheese and pepperoni. It was a little greasy, so I had to dab with some napkins. Ok, It was a lot greasy. The napkin was soaked in red delicious grease. Others who had some loved it as well. Great place to stop for a big slice. It's small, so seating is limited, but there was seating outside too. If you're staying at the Francis Marion Hotel, it's right across the street. I visited Sabatino's for the first time about 6 months ago and I was very impressed. I had the cheese pizza and I loved it. SABATINOS is a cute little pizzaria in downtown Charleston really close to the main shopping section of king street and it's also pretty close to the college. There are only a couple of tables to eat at inside and a couple more outside but pizza is easy to eat just about anywhere and downtown is not short of places to sit for a bit. I went back today and I was not disappointed. I have to say, the crust on this pizza is incredible. It's just the right amount of thin that you get a good supported bite, but it's not the only thing you taste. And the edge crust is definitely the kind that you eat. It is so crispy and flavorful. The slices are really big too. I ordered 2 but I was satisfied with just one and I took it home and reheated it later in the microwave (not the best way to reheat, I know) and it came out still quite good. I was impressed even more than I was the first time I went. Today we went at a slow time on a Sunday evening so we had really fast service, but even when it's busy inside they do pretty good at keeping it moving. This is one of the best pizza places I have ever been to and almost certainly the best pizza in Charleston and the price point doesn't hurt either. read more

For $10 I got 1 large slice of pizza (you can pick any kind available - I got the meat pizza), 2 garlic rolls (really good) and a canned drink (I got a can of sweet tea which really really hit the spot on a warm day). There really wasn't much space to eat in the restaurant, but I walked back to the hotel with it while drinking the tea and eating one of the yummy garlic rolls. For the price, this really was amazingly good food!!!!!!!! Also - the workers here were really friendly. The building is tiny and might have seating for a total of 6 people at a time inside and the same outside. There are 5-6 pies ready for slice orders and a massive menu with loads of customization.
