Kevin McCallister Pizza

Oh Renzo. You are just so cute! It's this little corner pizza place tucked in one of the best neighborhoods of Charleston. Service was great- all the guys were attentive and friendly. Service was fast, pizza was hot, and wine was yummy! Even their house wine was delicious! If you come during the week they have happy hour from 5-6 where they have discounted food and $6 house wine. Definitely do a reservation if you can but also you can just walk in and try to snag a spot. The place is small so you may have to wait for big parties. Parking is street parking on a busy street so keep that in mind too. We loved the specialty pizza and the OG meatballs. We will be back!

Porco Rosso pizza, house ranch

Renzo never disappoints. It's a must every time we're in Charleston! It's become one of those places we can't imagine a trip without. We started with drinks. My mom had a glass of wine, I had the pepperoni martini (such a fun and flavorful twist!), and my sister had the peach tea, which was really refreshing. We shared the charred cauliflower appetizer to start, and it was delicious. For our main, we all split the Porco Rosso pizza, and wow... the vodka sauce and salami combo is next level. Don't skip the house ranch, it's a must have. The service is always cool and welcoming, and the food is consistently amazing. Cozy dining area too. Can't wait to come back on our next trip!

Charred cauliflower and my fav Aperol spritz!

Great neighborhood gem! Shareable starters such as charred cauliflower and Cesar salad. Both delicious, I would have preferred a chimichurri sauce than the Asian chili oil served with the cauliflower. Definitely need reservations as it is a small cozy place. Service was attentive yet unobtrusive. House wine is very good and my Aperol spritz was perfect! We split the 4 slice wood fired marinara pizza and added fresh basil. Dough was tasty with a yummy chewy texture. Street neighborhood parking was appreciated so we could stroll after dinner! Would love to visit again when we are back in town.

I recently had the chance to visit Renzo, and it was certainly an interesting experience. Overall, I would give it a solid three stars. From the moment we arrived, the gentleman who greeted us was a bit detached, simply pointing us to our table. It felt a little odd, but we decided to go with the flow. After ordering cocktails and appetizers, the service didn't really improve in terms of warmth or attentiveness. It wasn't until we ordered the bottle that the server seemed to realize we were in the mood to enjoy both drinks and food! When the bottle was brought to the table, it was simply placed in front of us--no chiller, no real attention to the details. We made the best of it, even though the champagne started to warm up as we slowly savored it. I thought maybe it was a simple oversight on the server's part but definitely was a little disappointing. As for the food, while I didn't get a photo of the pizza, I thought it was decent. As of right now, I am writing this review a week after dining and I really, truly cannot remember much about our food. I think that says all I need to say about that.

The loveliest little corner spot!! Come at 5 to snag the best seat in the house - the window seat! Reservations strongly encouraged. Happy hour is awesome and actually really affordable.

This place is amazing! It was a bit loud inside but they played great music, service was attentive. The pizzas were the star of the show tho, the crust was perfectly bouncy and charred. I can't remember the names of the pizzas we got but they were both phenomenal. I will say for the price I thought they would be bigger but the outer crust is so thick they're very filling. Overall highly recommend coming. It looks like they also have great happy hour deals as well.

Without a doubt, Renzo is a statement piece. It has a quaint charm to it as it's nestled in a neighborhood near downtown Charleston. In my opinion, it's a perfect first date spot. The small and intimate atmosphere is one that would surely impress a love interest. Matter of fact, there were multiple dates happening around us. If you're looking to step onto the town right after, this is not the place. There's not much on the street other then them and a catty corner speakeasy bar. You'll definitely have to uber to your next location. The menu is petite, which I personally did not mind. It made it simple to pick an appetizer and entree. Again, great for a first date when you want to be focusing on the other person. ;) We chose the Caesar Salad, Wrath of Kahan and The Cheli. The Caesar Salad was unfortunately a big miss for me. It was very heavy on celery, which completely overpowered the salad and masked the traditional Caesar flavors. If you're a celery lover, you'll eat it up! My husband is, and was on a fresh celery cloud 9. The pizzas, like the menu, were petite in size. They were more individual sized, which is not a big deal if you are okay with the price of them. If you are looking to really chow down on lots of pizza, I'd advice going to another spot or go in knowing you are going to spend some dough to get full. We expected The Cheli to be a sweet & spicy mediterranean masterpiece as it said it had feta, lamb sausage, pickled jalapenos, honey and za'atar. We've ordered pizzas like this before and really loved the sweetness the honey provides to the spice of jalapenos. Unfortunately, there was no sweetness or real spice to be found on this pizza. Instead, it had a strong vinegar tang to it. The Wrath of Kahan was our favorite out of the two. I'd order it again! However, both pizzas crust came out a tad too burnt (you'll be able to see in my photo). I'm all about some crunch, but not when the char over powers the pizzas components. Nor when you a paying quite the premium for your pies! Maybe, we just went on an off night? Which is A-okay, things happen! We do not live in the area and will likely not return if we ever travel back to Charleston but I hope others have the 4.5 star experience they have clearly earned. I wish this pocket pizzeria the best of luck! They have potential to shine, that's for sure.

Margarita Pizza

My top 5 favorite restaurant in Charleston! I always get their Caesar salad, margarita pizza, and aperol spritz. Their pizza is thin and soft with the fluffiest crust everrrr it's so good and they have homemade ranch to dip which is 10/10!!! I could literally eat this meal every day. I recommend this place to everyone!

The moment you step inside, the Victorian-style décor sets the tone. Rich textures, warm lighting, and that unmistakable southern charm create an intimate, welcoming atmosphere that feels purposely hidden. Katie, serving as both bartender and host, elevated the entire experience. She was gracious, professional, and genuinely friendly the kind of hospitality that makes you want to come back before you've even left. Her Knob Creek whiskey sour was exceptional, easily one of the best in Charleston. Perfectly balanced with extra froth, it showed the kind of craft you expect from a top-tier mixology spot. If you're looking for a speakeasy that nails vibe, service, and cocktails, Scotty Doesn't Know should be at the top of your list. A standout gem in Charleston's bar scene.

There's a comprehensive cocktail menu and the French 75ish and the tiramisu martini were both delicious ($18 each). The prices are super comparable with other bars downtown. They have a full bar if you'd like a standard cocktail or any other creation I'm sure they could make it. Our server was great and very attentive. The kitchen stopped serving food at 10pm which I wish we had been told when we came in because I tried to order fries at 10:04 and was told I couldn't. Which I understand I just wish I had known. The place is pretty small and dark and very quiet so the perfect place for a calm nightcap.

When we made our Tuesday dinner reservation the day before, there was nothing available before 8:30pm. But when I checked on Tuesday afternoon several slots had opened up and we were able to move ours up to an earlier time. The food was very good. It is a bit on the pricier side but earns it: fresh, quality ingredients and all expertly cooked and nicely plated. Delicate and balanced seasoning, and very tasty but subtle sauces. Especially enjoyed the combination of Brussels Sprouts on a bed of pureed parsnips. We had the flounder and the Gumbo for our entrees. And while they didn't look very substantial, we were quickly full. The ciabatta and parmesan butter that we couldn't resist may have had a little to do with that.

We were told there was no fish of the day and expressed our disappointment. Crickets. So we ordered off the menu which we are very familiar with. Lo and behold I start hearing other servers describing wahoo and catfish dishes at great length. Our server returned and I asked why I'm hearing everyone talking about the fish of the day. He said I'm not allowed to tell them until 5 pm. WHAT???? You start charging dinner prices at 4 pm. At least you could have told me that and I would have sat and enjoyed my wine for 15 minutes. But nope, you did not disclose that until after I asked and our orders were placed. I'm just giving folks a heads up that may be making reservations. Wait until 5pm if you want to hear the specials. I'm giving four stars for food quality only. We have been coming here for 30 years. Made me very sad.
