This ended up being my last coffee spot, but my favorite one! It was such a hidden gem. There was a line out the door for a reason! When i finally made it to the front of the line, the service was very nice. She recommended either a caramel or vanilla iced latte. I ended up going with the caramel iced latte. The espresso is super smooth, the latte was cold. it was great. The decor in there is also so cute, i love the greenery. There are many seats inside as well as a small selection outside. If i ever return to charleston, this will be my first stop....
Awesome little bakery with coffee and savory bites. I got the breakfast sandwich delicious biscuit, eggs were wonderfully seasoned with an Herby taste. We also got the German chocolate roll, which is really good and I'm not a huge fan of coconut, but I still liked it a lot. The coffees were great. My only complaint was my wife's pimento bacon biscuit wasn't exactly what we were expecting. Being in the south when you see a pimento bacon biscuit you're expecting a biscuit sandwich with bacon and pimento cheese. What was given was just allright. The biscuit was a little dry and not what we expected, there was a laughable amount of pepper jelly, enough for a mouse. Everything else was really good and I would love to go back.
Very cute and cozy cafe. They had lots of seating inside and a cute patio as well. I ordered the iced caramel latte. It was really good! It had a strong espresso flavor and wasn't too sweet.
One thing to note: this is the least stroller friendly spot I've ever been to. Food and coffee is amazing, but do NOT try to bring a stroller - the patio even has signs everywhere warning you.

Harken Cafe was highly recommended and absolutely lived up to the hype! The cafe has the cutest hippie vibes and the staff is super warm and welcoming. Heads up--it gets PACKED on weekends and sometimes even runs out of goodies, so come early. We tried the German chocolate bun and OMG--it was insane. Perfectly buttery, toasted almonds, and rich dark chocolate--it might be the best pastry I've ever had. The Butter Me Up breakfast sandwich was huge and so shareable, packed with bacon, avocado, and egg on a crumbly, buttery biscuit--pure breakfast heaven. To drink, the turmeric chai latte was hot, comforting, and refreshing all at once. Honestly, if you're in Charleston and love cozy spots with epic pastries and breakfast, Harken Cafe is a must!
Did a 10mi morning run from Mt Pleasant to dt Charleston. Stopped near this cafe so decided to have a breakfast there. At 9am there was already a short line outside the entrace of it. I waited for ~15min to order my food. The cafe had lots of pastries and I got a big slice of Wholy City Quiche. But sadly they did not have side of bread!! That's ridciculous, especially considering that they have avo toast on the menu. So I got a bottle of orange juice instead. Then, to disappoint me again, there was no Wifi! I was also told that "reheating the quiche requires ~15min". Ridiculously slow. Maybe the oven had not enough space? Luckily the quiche itself was very good. This vegetarian dish was loaded with eggs, sweet potatoes, spinach, corns, sliced zucchini and some cheese in a Rye crust. I never imagined putting sweet potatoes or corns in quiche, but it worked perfectly. The crust was erathy, crispy, and not too oily.

Great latte + great food I arrived around noon and they were sold out of the biscuit sandwich I wanted, which lets you know how delicious their food is. You order as soon as you come. If dining it, find a seat, place your table top # down and they'll bring your food. Listen for your name to pick up your coffee. Grab your own water from the counter, they don't bring it. The quiche was amazing and loaded with veggies, even corn, and I believe it had ricotta in it too. The flavor was amazing and I loved the crunchy top. Im glad I got it!
Such a cute coffee shop! Came after our bartender last night recommended it as his fave coffee spot in Charleston. Had the Brie and jam biscuit and it was amazing. The iced caramel latte was also delicious!
Discovered this sweet little bakery while out in a walk. The food is delicious, the service is quick and the inside is cute as can be. I highly recommend this bakery
What an amazing experience I had hear. Such a cozy coffee shop with a delicious latte in one of the coolest mug I've ever used at a coffee shop. The baristas were sweet. I ordered an Oat Milk Caramel Pumpkin Latte and it was very delicious. Would definitely revisit this cute shop for another coffee and maybe a pastry next time.

So cute, my bowl was great!!!Coffee was amazing but the Tea cookie the Barista recommended was to die for. Love the ambience, just needed a little more space inside because it was raining outside. read more

Oh my goodness! This easily has become my new favorite coffee shop. The treats are delicious! The coffee is great. In two days, we've tried the maple latte, an Americano, and an iced matcha. Every one was delicious. The inside is precious. Everything is well thought out and planned with the space. It is a little cramped and can be a little loud, but it's worth it. We'll be in the city another two days and will most certainly be back. read more

Harken Cafe was super cute and I really liked the aesthetic of the place, but my experience was a bit mixed. I waited about 30 minutes in line, and while the service was decent, it felt very rushed once I finally ordered. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was very disappointing, which was a letdown because I really wanted to love this spot. From my personal experience, I would probably skip it. read more

Had to try one of the most prominent coffee spots in Charleston. Got there around 10:30 and the line was out the door but it only took about 10 minutes to get through. Inside was super cute. Really old place with charm. Decent amount of seating but fills up fast. They sold really cute stickers at checkout. They had specialty fall drinks but I didn't see until after I ordered. I wish they had it on the menu so I could've known because I definitely would've ordered. I got the honey maple iced latte and my mom got the vanilla spiced latte. We also ordered the ricotta biscuit with honey butter and pear compote. We waited quite a while but it was reasonable considering the amount of people there. The coffee was excellent and definitely the best I had of all the coffee shops I tried in Charleston. They really focus on the quality of the coffee. The biscuit was marginal at best. I felt it was very dry. I was somewhat disappointed because I had heard great things about the baked goods here. The honey butter and pear compote were great, though. Get there around 9am to avoid the line and find a seat. Get the coffee, skip the ricotta biscuit. Would definitely stop by the next time I'm in town to get a coffee. read more

When we walked up to a line out the door I got excited, assuming it would be stellar. The interior when we finally got in the door was so so cute. Loved it. That's kind of where the impressive elements ended. Got a spiced vanilla scone. That was solidly good and I'd get it again. Got the avo toast. It was just ok for me. The miso and sesame seeds were not spread evenly so it was a lot of lopsided bites. I didn't finish it. The breakfast sandwich was extremely dry. I have no idea why it is popular. The eggs are like a premade microwaved feeling patty of scramble. They tasted so dry I couldn't finish the bite. The coffees were good. If maybe go back for a coffee and scone to go. Otherwise, skip it. read more

Great spot hidden in Charleston that I happen to come across while looking to grab a bite for breakfast. Cute little spot with limited seating indoor and out. Line was out the most of the time I was there. I waited about 20 minutes for my Wholy City Quiche to go....and worth the wait. read more
Crazy wait for a breakfast sandwich at this breakfast cafe. We ended up skipping the sandwich and trying different items on the menu that were more accessible because 30 mins seemed ridiculous to warm up a biscuit and put the other ingredients on. And this after a 20 mins seemed ridiculous wait in line to order. It was a special weekend in the city so we understood the busyness but the lack of preparedness seems like something they should be aware of. Anyway, beyond that... the food was good. The coffee was decent. Buying water in a carton was fru-fru and silly but oh well. We enjoyed the food and the old building where the shop is was really cool. There are other things on the menu I'd like to try so I'd go back but it also wasn't the most compelling place I've been recently. read more

Perfect spot to grab a coffee and walk around South of Broad. Small space but there are a few tables to sit at and a cute small shop at the front. The pastries looked great, especially the big cookies. I got the ice spice vanilla latte. I'm excited to come back and try some fall flavors. read more
This was my first stop in Charleston. It did NOT disappoint. It was highly rated and talked about by friends that had been to the city before. The coffee was smooth and they had fun flavors, more than just your typical syrups. The food was outstanding. I got a lot to share with my husband. The quiche had a cheese crisp layer on top than added the perfect flare to make it more than you typical quiche. The pump it up bar was like a moist slice of cake even though it was an oat date type bar. And the spinach artichoke bun had a little hint of spice that made the flavors pop. My husband can't stop talking and wants to go back for breakfast tomorrow! read more

Wow! Simply wow! We found this cafe while walking and since we were hungry we gave it a shot. Had NO idea it would be this delicious! Trust me... YOU WILL WANT the veggie quiche... TRUST!!! Fluffy, cheesy and tasty! ( I added a delicious side of great bacon too) And the added side salad with supple butter lettuce and the most delicious buttermilk vinaigrette... just Wow! Great iced matcha latte also! Highly recommend everything we tried! read more

Any trip to Charleston isn't complete without stopping at Harken! It's cute and quaint with a great ambience. The bakery items are amazing but the best thing is the chocolate chip cookies. It's called the "best friend cookie" with 3 different kinds of chocolate. They're unreal and the best cookies I've ever had. I end up eating multiple within a day lol. Place was busting! This is a quaint hipster spot with all those fancy cold foam drinks and an array of food options. Today we chose the staple Harken breakfast biscuit and it was good but a lot of biscuit. Once you manage to squeeze this biscuit down it's best not to release your grip or you lose all integrity. I should have got a quiche. Great coffee. Don't be in a rush because you will be disappointed. Dining in is tight! read more

I went here last year and recently stopped by- it was just as good as I remember it! I got the spiced vanilla latte with oat milk and the butter me up biscuit! The biscuit is so good it starts to crumble when you take a bite but it's also so soft! It's a small cafe with limited seating so I took my coffee to the waterfront park which is a short walk away. Every time I go here there is always a line outside but that's when you know it's good! :) read more

Is there parking at the storefront or do you need to pay for a city garage?
As a native, born and raised here, parking is dicey to say the least!! We have the easiest walking city in America so just park in a garage or a metered space and walk…
Do they still offer donuts here, or just at The Harbinger?
I don't recall any donuts at this café but as I said in my review everything they made was spectacular.
Do u recommend reservations for brunch time?
Not necessary at all. They may not even take them.
