    Espresso martinis
    Riley S.

Stopped in here for drinks, yes DRINKS, after a meal at Post House and was blown away by how incredible the vibes were!! They have a full blown bar and the man working said he made the best espresso martini so we had to try (it was phenomenal). It's just so cute and cozy inside and the perfect low key spot for whatever you are feeling: coffee, hot tea, pastries, wine, or cocktails! If you are in the area you HAVE to check it out and if not you still should! A place that I can go to in the morning or the evening is just so fun to me!

I had such a pleasant afternoon at Gala! The cafe has a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, plus a few seats on the beautiful front porch. I was lucky enough to snag a front porch swing to enjoy my sparkling juice and veggie sandwich. The atmosphere, food, and service were all great. I didn't have a chance to try out their selection of baked goods, but they all looked delicious!

What a little gem of a find on Main Street in Old Village in Mount Pleasant. I was dying for a cup of coffee and a little snack, and I'm so glad I stumbled across this spot. I had a cappuccino that was superb, and my fresh turkey and cranberry panini was insanely scrumptious. The setting was so inviting, super clean, and smothered with Southern charm. Grab a brew and something to eat, sit on the patio, and enjoy... you won't regret it.

Gala is a nice little oasis in a, well, another oasis called Old Village Mount Pleasant. It's the perfect spot to stop for a coffee and a pastry or cookie. I'm not sure what the entire menu offers, but it was a nice mid morning stop for us. The have a nice outdoor seating area, which on a nice day like we had was perfect for relaxing.

I truly wanted to like Gala Cafe, but our cake slices were terrible. Everything was dry, tasted old. It was extremely disappointing. Also, when someone orders coffee it should come with the cake, not 20 minutes after you served the cake. You know it was bad, when most of us left our cakes on the table. Sorry, management/staff should have known that the cakes served were old. They should have been pulled and thrown out. I say that as a bakery-pastry worker . Also, when someone enters the cafe, you should greet them...welcome to Gala Cafe. The 1st thing you shouldn't say is we close in 40 minutes. Charming place, nice ambiance...felt homey. Gala has that going for it. Honestly, I would skip Gala and either go to Kaminsky's or Page's Okra Grill if you're looking for dessert.

Loved loved loved everything about this great little place... additionally, much bigger inside than I expected. Didn't know they had a full bar either... dessert selection was awesome. We stayed for lunch and had a panini sandwich and the chef salad; we also had a couple desserts and a coffee... Everything was amazing, Staff was great super helpful & We very much enjoyed, will definitely return. I also want to say that for old village their prices are very reasonable.

It was about 30 minutes before closing time & my friends and I wanted a quick night cap and dessert after our dinner. The service was so great here! Our bartender/server was so sweet and welcoming despite our late arrival. I got a spiced cider mule and it was delicious. For dessert I got the peanut butter mousse cake and it was heavenly. My friend that doesn't even like sweets kept taking bites of mine too! It was past closing by the time we were wrapping up and the bartender said we could take our time and stay. Although we didn't, it was nice that they offered that. This is such a cute spot that I would love to visit again soon!

Unique little spot in old town Mt. Pleasant. Nice small porch outside. Interior is a bit dated, but quaint and they capture their comfy, homey style very well. Coffee was only okay, might go for an iced tea or something instead. Food looked pretty good but I was only there for coffee. Staff was very kind and nice.

I've left so many reviews in the past for here but it's because I love it so much. I love sharing this spot with friends and family and recommending it to travelers. It's such a cute spot overall, the food never fails me. The coffee definitely never fails. The people there are sweet and passionate with you and event when they are busy they always know how to fix something. It's cute for pictures or just to have a coffee on their outdoor patio. Recently tried their egg sandwich it was so fluffy and the bread was yummy that came with. I always grab either a hot vanilla latte or an iced coffee. Everyone that I bring there love the atmosphere, it's so cute. Perfect spot to go work, or grab a coffee and explore old village. They have a clean restroom there, and WiFi, and outlets at some seating spots. They also have a bar!!! They also have events there which is so fun.

Lemon Blueberry Scone and Mocha with almond milk

Love the vibe in here! Super cute and casual for a quick coffee with friends! The lemon blueberry scone was amazing. My friend got the avocado toast and loved it as well. Very fresh! Coffee was not too sweet & was perfect. Quick service!

Cute little family run spot we stumbled across while exploring Mount Pleasant which is a picturesque charming town with this cafe, like the town, looking like it belonged in a Lifetime movie. It was very homey with a small coffee bar and tables inside, on the porch, and side of the house. We ordered lattes and cheesecake to go. I only ordered one and my bill came to $31 which I was taken back, however, ended up being charged for 2 which they caught so we left with two.. so they were likely about $10/piece. The lattes took quite some time and were very strong.. they were not made correctly, definitely had to fix them up. The cheesecake was great.

    Bailey's cheesecake
    Kyle D.

Overall: A great stop for a dessert treat or casual lunch. The good: The Bailey's cheesecake is delicious and filling, good to split between two people. It is rich and decadent, yet simple, with a crumbly base and thick middle. The atmosphere is cozy, and there's a lot more seating than you would initially think (including outdoor seating). Staff was friendly and let us take our time ordering. The fruit smoothie was refreshing. We'll be back again I'm sure - so many desserts to choose from The not-so-good: Not much honestly. Prices are a little high, especially for the non-bakery items, but that's also just the way it is anymore it seems. Smoothie was a little small (again, for the price). Food/drink: 8.5/10 Atmosphere: 8.5/10 Service: 8/10

Before I tried anything, I learned that they source ingredients locally including the strawberries and cream from local farms. I was also really pleased to learn that they minimized added sugars which is another big win in my book. On to the product itself -- I tried both the Banana Pudding and Strawberry Cheesecake bars. They were fantastic. Truly they tasted fresh and had just the right amount of sweetness. I greatly thank the Wich Cream team for coming out to our neighborhood. From the feedback I heard, everyone who tried their ice cream was a fan.

They are handmade in North Charleston and sold at several restaurants around the low country. The first time I ever tried one was from a food cart at the Charleston farmers market and I've been hooked ever since! They have different seasonal flavors because all of their ingredients are locally sourced from the milk to the berries. My favorite I have ever tried is their strawberry though a tried and true is the chocolate, it is so creamy! The texture of the sandwiches are unique and what keeps bringing me back over and over. The sandwich part is almost a little gritty but still soft and chewy, almost as if it were made from almond meal though it is not. This past sandwich I got was blueberry Cheri and though good it was not as flavorful as others I've had. I could see where they were going by adding chamomile but it just wasn't enough. I would recommend a different flavor to try, though if they were to have the sandwich part lemon flavored with blueberry ice cream it would be amazing! Overall if you see a restaurant or shop selling these pick one up. Though they are a bit pricy at $4-5 they are totally worth it!

Luckily, we were able to be seated immediately but it was very close quarters with surrounding tables. The menu is vast with different dessert options. If you want to know what cakes are available, you should check out the display stand right when you enter. Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. I would probably come back here again, but not so late at night so there would be fresher cake with more options available.

We waited about 5 to 10 minutes to be acknowledged while two employees stood nearby. The two layer chocolate caramel pecan cake, which our waitress initially could not find, was dry and tasted stale. That's the best thing I could say about our experience. The food, pricing, service, and ambiance all fell below average. When you are located downtown with so many great dessert options around, you really need to step up your game. We will not be returning.
