The decor is very inviting with one entire side in brick and they have hung up empty picture frames, completing a rustic look.( see photos) I ordered the 1/2 Turkey Sandwich and Vegetable Soup ( see photo). It was the best soup I have ever tasted. And the sandwich was also delicious. Serving sizes very large, so you get a lot for your money. There is both inside and outside seating available. This restaurant has their act together in every way. They do everything so well, including the little things like keeping your beverages filled at all times. i give this place five stars, not only for the service but for the food. this place has definitely upgraded since last owners. heard about the new ownership and had to try it for myself. wow, just wow. FOOD: i had the tri tip salad w ranch dressing. yea salad, boringZz i know. but no! this salad was amazing! haven't had a good salad like this in a long time. the tri tip was sooo tender, and the salad was so fresh. from lettuce, down to the home made croutons. delicious! i definitely recommend. mom had the cilantro lime chicken salad, and wow that looks amazing. the chicken for being breast was very flavorful. the salad was just as fresh as mine. my husband had a burger, don't remember which one but it was sooo good it was gone in less than a minute. NEVER AGAIN!!! We had been loyal customers for several years, even through COVID. But since the ownership changed a few years ago, the quality of the food has been inconsistent and the service spotty, depending on the server. Tonight we, a party of 6, arrived at 4:20 pm before the dinner rush. Noah greeted us at our table and took our drink orders, then brought our drinks and took our food order. That was the last we saw of Noah, or any server, at our table for at least 45 minutes, never receiving our food or any drink refills. In the meantime, other guests were arriving, ordering and receiving their food. We finally got Noah's attention and asked him when our food was coming. He said they were really busy, part of the order was ready and he wasn't sure when the rest would be ready. We asked to speak to the manager or owner and he stated that he was the acting manager. We asked him how he would feel if we left the restaurant. He replied that he wouldn't like it but he couldn't do anything to stop us, then he walked away again to service other tables. We waited a few more minutes then got up and left the restaurant and had a wonderful meal down the street. Wouldn't a good manager be apologetic and go to the kitchen and push things along? This is not the first time we were disappointed with the service and decided to give them another try, but no more. The only reason I gave one star is because zero is not an option. read more

A bit of a rocky start, but service really picked up and food was very good. It was the first week of dine in and they still have outdoor seating so was confusing where to check in. I asked a passing waiter and he said we can take a seat, who we do. A few minutes later, I see another server asking others if they had checked in and would get them a table and looked our way. After a while I realize no one knows we sat ourselves, per instruction, so I went inside to talk to the waitress I saw attending to others. She might have been the hostess, but was also waiting tables so it was a bit confusing. Once I let her know what happened, she told me she would send out a waitress with menus. From that point on, I think things went much better service wise. As for the food, it was mostly delish and portions were huge! We ordered the House specialty Chicken, rib and brisket combo with chicken tortilla soup and red cabbage. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks. First off, they split our meal without letting us know and then they brought out the first tray. I commented how much food that was ad she pointed at the tray and said she would bring one more. I assumed it was an extra "plate" but found out it was another tray with my half of the food!!! Crazy. The mozzarella stick order was huge too! Delish too. Crisp on the outside and sheet goodness inside. The marinara dipping sauce was awesome too. As for the rest of the meal, chicken and ribs were on point with chicken as the standout of the entire meal. BBQ sauce a perfect compliment. The brisket was a little dry but had great flavors. Cabbage salad on point. Tortilla soup had promise. Was outside and cold, so the soup got cold very fast which didn't help but it needed a kick of some kind. They don't have salsa or tapatio (just tobacco), so we decided to pack it to go along with the ton of leftovers to enjoy later, which we did. Definitely worth another visit, but I do have to admit I did go for the hope of roast turkey with mashed potato's and gravy, which was no longer on the menu. We have always loved Frisellas but our visit last Saturday was just not good. The service was very slow and not very attentive. The tri tip was dry and not nearly as good as it used to be and for $31.00 you would expect more. My wife had the BBQ chicken sandwich and said it was dry also. It breaks my heart to give them less then 5 stars as we have had lots of wonderful meals here. We will be back to give it one last try and hopefully I can add to this review and change my rating. I had lunch with a couple co workers. We were greeted by the friendly host! There was plenty of options where to sit .. there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating ! My co workers ordered a chicken salad and a tri tip salad and a fish taco each.. not thinking the salad would be as big as it was... omg when their salads came out our mouths dropped with how much meat and crisp fresh salad was there. Not to mention their fish taco was a huge crispy piece fish loaded with cabbage and their sauce ! They were not disappointed with their portions and food ! They even leftovers for dinner. My other co worker got the tri tip sandwich with their house made chips ! Her meat was cooked perfectly and the chips were tasty and seasoned well! I got the western cheeseburger and tried to be healthy with a garden salad. And when my food came out I was in awe! Not only was it huge but everything about the cheeseburger was excellent! Perfectly cooked medium, nice crispy sweet onion ring, cheese, sauce ,lettuce, bacon ! I could finish my salad or my burger that's how big it was ! We've been coming here for the last 3 years of living in Glendora and it's always been my favorite. Today's visit was disappointing, although the Bloody Mary and food was great. The service was less than expected and the norm for this place. Considering the circumstances I get it but it's still expected that waiters are friendly and attentive. Yeah, no. We came on Friday after work because we've never been here before. The service was ok, and the food was bland. The chips and pico... the pico was good, but the chips were WAY overcooked. The fish in the fish and chips tasted like nothing. The bbq pork sandwich was too sweet and didn't taste like pork. We ordered a burger to go, for the kid at home. It was a hockey puck. The man person decided to come back today (Sunday). The place is less than half full and no one seems to care for the customer. We sat for a while and no one paid us any mind. We had to call out to have someone get our drink orders. Today, the food was better, but the service was non-existent. I counted... 11 tables have people, about 15 were empty. We had to ask for water, we got up and got our own napkins, and we had to cancel the salad because EVERYTGING came out before the garden salad. The Mac and cheese is equal to Kraft Mac n cheese from a box. The red cabbage salad is red cabbage and vinegar and nothing else. We were never asked how I food was, if we needed anything else... like ketchup for your fries. Nada. We gave the joint a second try and it was a waste. I enjoy coming here with family because the portions are pretty large. My family really loves in during lent when they are only eating fish. Well, let me start by saying that I'm a huge barbecue fan and I've tried barbecue not only in this state but in others. The place is a nice little area of uptown, Glendora. It's clean your staff is nice and they serve you rather quickly. My only problem was that the steak was a bit on the dry side, the bread was gummy and chewy. It was hard to even take a part with your teeth. If you're in the mood for chicken come here that was pretty good but if you're in the mood for some good tri-tip, I would stay away. Man, I consider myself pretty hard to upset or make unhappy when eating out, but tonight, I don't know what happened here. I have to have less than 10 reviews here on Yelp. I just don't find it worth it to type much after the fact, usually. My wife and I took our almost 2yr old out for dinner, like we do every so often. Got a table outside, ordered our food, and it came fairly quickly. That's about where the happiness ended. I got the fried chicken breast salad. Wife got the 1/4 chicken meal and a side salad. She had no complaints about the food. She never does. I may complain about service every so often, but rarely the food. My salad was wet and full of mixed romaine greens (cmon). I ate the dry chicken and skipped the rest. It reminded me of a kids meal my nephew would get. Or a meal at some old folks diner. I'm still betting it was a bag of lettuce and croutons purchased down the street at Albertson's. Nothing about this seemed fresh. I could be wrong, who knows. Our waiter delivered our food, came back to fill up my iced tea, and finally to give us the bill and a box for my wife. At this point I told our waiter that I would have liked to have ordered a new meal, but we hadn't seen him more than once. I got a non chalant answer of "oh ok sorry," and no offer to take a new order. We had waited and looked around for our waiter for a while so I could at least get some food to go. By the time he came around, it was way too late. I can't remember the last time I ordered something and didn't like it, or didn't get what I expected. Things happened, I just would have really liked to see our waiter so I could have ordered something else and had food when my wife and kid did. When that didn't happen, and our waiter is taking away a whole full plate of my dinner that I barely touched, something's up man. At least the kids at cheap chain restaurants ask those same memorized lines of "how's everything here?" Or "how's the food?" I shouldn't have had to say that "I wanted to order something else, but you were never around." My wife had made a comment when we first arrived that it "looked slow." That wasn't the case when we left, but it was hardly a full house when we did. My iced tea sat empty for the longest time after the refill. I wasn't looking to have anymore, but to have a drink sit empty for that long seems like a no no. We live down the street. So do our mothers. My wife and myself have been here plenty of times with our relatives. I've had some great meals here. I had the batter-less fried chicken last time (great btw). Burgers and fries are ok. Obviously the meat selections are good and yummy. I've had a couple experiences where the food and was just ok as well. The service seems to be hit or miss, too. I recommended this place to a coworker recently because he moved to the area. I don't know if he has made it here yet, but I'm kind of wishing I hadn't said anything. There's only a couple options in the area, and this place can be awesome on the right night. I just don't think we're going to give it another go. Maybe it was just our waiter combined with my horrible salad. I wanted to leave a $0 tip (would have been the first time ever if that says anything) but my wife said not to, as she eats here with her mom more often than I do with mine. Service - 5 stars for Lowell, who helped save the day in the service department. Was here on a Friday night after work and got seated outside. For some reason, the person assigned to us seemed to forget about us right after they delivered our water. Either that or there were so many other people or things that had to be attended to inside. In any case, even the people who got seated after we did got their order taken and food delivered way before ours were. So more than once Lowell helped us out by getting our wait staff for us so we can get our order taken, he refilled our water, and turned on the heat lamp outside for us. Hard working citizens of America go the extra mile, and Lowell is one of them. read more
