I recently had the pleasure of trying out Frisco's Carhops with my husband & I'd just like to say, "WOW". The ambiance is stunning with an old school diner vibe. There was great 80's music playing in the background. I love classic cars & the vibe here was just amazing. The service was great. On the day we visited we got here very early & were the first customers of the day. The waitress that assisted us was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. My husband got a breakfast burrito & I got the French toast combo. He liked his burrito & I liked my French toast. I'm a bit of a French toast snob since many places don't make it good. That was not the case here. The bread wasn't dry which is a problem of many places, & I could taste the sweetness, & spice of the cinnamon. Maybe I just got lucky since we were the first customers & the cooks took their time to work on our meal? I don't know but what I do know is that on the day we visited the food was delicious & the price was great. We paid about $30 for us both for these delicious meals. Ps. Good service and great decor. A bit awkward lay out of the serve yourself beverages since it's in same tight area where employees walk out to serve food. And on this visit there was a yellow wet floor sign so made it a bit more difficult for myself and server on roller skates to navigate around. Food was served pretty fast. Burgers were Served on a Parmesan sourdough type bread. The bread was pretty dry and the Parmesan was a bit over powering, salty and crumbly. Ended up eating open faced and had party only. I can find myself returning for the Chili Cheeseburger. It satisfies the craving for heavy chili junk food. Personally, I can't find myself returning for the other items I ordered but to be as objective as possible, I only ordered the items listed below. The Frisco Bacon and Avocado Cheeseburger was a recommendation from the cash register lady. I like that this place somewhat uses biodegradable wrapping and containers. The cups for the shakes are recyclable but I would love to see that they are recycled cups. Additionally, the cutlery is plastic. The straws for the shakes though are paper which is nice. With all of that noted, my review will only be based on the taste of the food. - Chili Cheeseburger 5/5: Very junky but delicious. You have to be in the mood for a bun soaked with chili and flavor. Nicely cheesy and chili drenched. It was very tasty. - Small French Fries 3/5: Taste like average fries but to be as objective as possible, maybe the chili cheese fries taste better seeing that the Chili Cheeseburger was tasty. These fries alone though are just fries. - Signature Milkshake 3/5: I found that the milkshake barely had any shake and had a lot of whipped cream. Again, I'm a BIG fan of themed cafes and restaurants! Sucks that I never got to go to the Frisco's in City of Industry back when it's still open, but glad that this one in Whittier still exists (I'm not even sure if there are any other locations other than this one...). It's open pretty late at night in terms of how everything else closed at 9 PM on a weekday in Whittier. They have menus clasped to stands outside and a drive thru as well. Love the kitschy 50's diner and classic car theme that the restaurant has. There's photos and autographs from famous celebrities who have been to Frisco's, giant dice, a huge garage door to their outdoor seating, booths that are in a classic car, a car hop waitress mannequin, large milkshake art on the wall, and much, much more. And OF COURSE, the waitresses roller skate to your table too! We got the: 1) Frisco's Parmesan Zucchini Sticks: -Huge pieces that are generously covered in parmesan. -The zucchini wasn't too mushy on the inside, went great with some ranch. -I only saw afterwards that they had chipotle ranch as a free sauce option, wish I knew this then, but if I'm back again, I gotta try it. 2) Frisco Cheeseburger: -As it was my first time here, this was the no brainer to try with it's namesake and the fact that it's slightly different from a regular burger as it's made sandwich style with sliced bread. -This is their fire grilled beef patty with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and thousand island dressing. The most unique features of their Frisco Cheeseburger is that instead of burger buns they used sour dough bread coated in parmesan cheese. -This gave the bread the same taste as eating a super large Cheez-it coated flavor. The beef patty was moist and cooked nicely enough. Decent amount of thousand island sauce and the bread is a tasty and yummy enough. Just a word to the wise, if you're not really into "saltier" food choices or are a fan of cheese, this is not the option for you. -Also enough to share too, wish we asked in advance for them to cut it in half. -This came with a sizeable side of crispy fries too. 3) Churro Milkshake: -100% an indulgent dessert drink. It's topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry, along with a small churro too. Throughout the shake, it's vanilla ice cream with churro blended all throughout, adding some nice texture as well. -Perfect for if you love churros and have a sweet tooth, but it is a heavily sweet and dense drink. Since we came near closing, we had iced tea from the fountain drink area to mix with lemonade to make an Arnold Palmer, but once it ran out, it wasn't refilled again. Understandable as it was a duty for the next day. We also got their cute little paper cars for $1.29 (this is going to my lizard, Sambal), but seeing an entire party of people getting it only to throw them in the trash afterwards was a big pain to me to say the least... Looking up the history of Frisco's, I guess the old City of Industry location had pizzas, would be cool if they had those here as well. read more

It has been ages since I've had this place and happened to passed by this new location and check it out. The restaurant itself is newly done/remodeled with modern yet classic diner touches with car-like booths. Waitresses are on roller skates but might be newbies since they really struggled to get around the place with the food trays. Saddened about our burgers since they were mediocre in size and lacked flavor. Price tag is quite hefty for a very skimpy burger in my opinion. What saved this experience was the chili cheese fries which were fresh and tasty as can be. Great to have a cool modern diner experience but I would definitely not come here expecting to get full or even asking for a to-go box. read more

First things first, the restaurant smelled good. We left another restaurant due to a sewer smell, which caused us to come here. Plus the ambiance is very cute. Hubby got a chicken country salad, but substituted the meat for pastrami. Nice size, good texture and flavor. This is his go to now for pastrami salad. I had the chili fries. Again nice size, good flavor and texture. I also had the root beer float which was on par with original A&W floats. The people were incredibly nice and helpful. I really used to love this place they had the best salads for the price. The salads were loaded, now they are almost all lettuce and tomato. I picked up my typical Greek salad and the Cob for my husband. I was so disappointed to find no Greek olives a teaspoon of feta and no red onion!! What is a Greek salad without Greek olives?!? Last time I bought it 5 olives were in it, I should've know they were fazing them out. The Cob was chicken and lettuce. . Met up with a coworker for lunch, looking to revisit a restaurant of my past. Sadly the place seems to be going downhill. The atmosphere is still unique and awesome, but the food quality sucks. I got their supreme breakfast burrito and a grilled cheese (childhood favorite). The burrito was so plain with bland ingredients, and the grilled cheese almost had me crying out of depression. I left hungry and unhappy. On a positive note, the one waitress working was on roller skates and was very attentive to tables. The location is clean and you can tell the owners are looking to keep the place going. Super limited parking, and during day time hours the smog shop behind the restaurant is open, which adds to the limited parking. If you are going for the visuals and nostalgia, do it. Leaving this review on their most recent Pastrami Sandwich at $12.99 I believe. It is not available as a combo so I had to opt to drink water from home and I added zucchini's as my side to make sure I am full. The total for both came out to $22.06. At first I thought maybe there would be a reason for the pricing. Maybe the sandwich is big. . . So I waited about 7 min for order in the drive thru. I got my food home and once I opened the bag I was disappointed to see the size of the sandwich. It was pretty small compared to other places I've gone. Then to add unfortunately by the time I got home 5-10 minutes later and fixed myself to eat it, it was already cold. The texture of the meat was very stringy and rubbery and mid at best. The pickle and mustard gives it a great balance with adding acidity but could not get over the texture of the meat. The bread was soft but not toasted or heated. I am a Frisco's regular and often enjoy a good burger or their breakfast specials. But this NEW addition to the menu should be taken off immediately! You can easily get a better deal up the street at Norms for the exact same price. Norms will include a large fry and drink for almost the exact same price and it is 1000000000x better than this sandwich. Also the portions at Norms Burgers can feed two people. Honestly one of the best experiences, such great customer service, food was pretty freaking great, the fries are great the shake was awesome the FRENCH TOAST IS SOOOOO GOODDD, the burger was just a burger and the avocado bacon burger was pretty great, my bf likes it but it was a bit too much for personally but honestly it's so flavorful it's really good. The chili cheese fries were freaking great, the ranch is awesome. Not were the vibes on point the service was great the food was great, and Arturo was just the greatest and nicest dude ever, I recommend coming here. Years ago, before my yelping days. I'd often go to classic car cruise nights and enjoy a burger at Frisco's in Downey. That location eventually vanished. I recently learned that this Frisco's existed and it has an even better 50's vibe with plenty of cool decor and a couple of seating areas that simulate eating inside a convertible. I ordered a classic cheeseburger, curly fries and a chocolate milkshake at the counter. I was given a number and a couple minutes later my order was delivered by a cute rollerskating waitress in a 50's uniform. I have to take a moment to say that this young woman took orders, delivered food (on skates!), and maintained the dining area to be clean and spotless; a real dynamo who was friendly and congenial. The burger itself was a good diner type of burger. Nothing really special but still enjoyable. The same could be said of both the curly fries and milkshake. Although the amount of curly fries was enough to fill two people! They have a drive-through window here and there's plenty of parking along the side of the restaurant. Not enough space for a cruise night like the former Frisco's had but the fun atmosphere of the place will please families, boomers, and classic car lovers as they dine. read more

A classic burger and fries done right. Love how you get that Classic feel in this 50s diner. Stop in for Breakfast, lunch or dinner 7am-10pm 7 days a week. Staff were very polite and all the food was served fresh and hot. They even serve the good o classic milkshakes too! The spin on the toast bread for the burger is genius! Every bite was full of so much flavor and their homemade zucchini sticks were mouth watering. Atmosphere was just too cool and everything was clean and tidy. I have this place another chance after being completely disappointed the first time. The place in Industry used to be a family favorite, unfortunately this spot does not come close to the original. To start off, you need to order at the counter now and the lady at the counter has no idea what she is doing nor is she familiar with the menu. It was three families so we had 3 different orders.
