I went here earlier this week with my mother and my son. My order was wrong and had to be sent back due to an allergy. My mother's order was completely wrong. She asked for only lettuce and tomato on her sandwich, it came with bacon and cheese and other things. Our reciept showed a sandwich that my mother didn't order and was more expensive than what she did order. My son ordered chocolate ice cream and received vanilla. Both sandwiches ordered were toasted with a stick of butter on each. That was very hard to swallow. I have been here a few other times and each time the food was okay. Typical Friendly's food , not anything special. But the service is so slow it is unreal. Last two times we went, the time from sitting down at the table until was about 1hr and 45 minutes. I'm not sure how chicken fingers and sandwiches takes 45 minutes to prepare or how putting two scoops of ice cream in a dish takes 10 or 15 minutes. The service was horrible. We came in and I watched the people that came in after me and my family get service at their table first . The waitress finally came and we order our drinks and on her way back she coughs herself forgetting my coffee. She took our order and said it shouldn't be long. Twenty minutes later she brought my daughter her food and didn't have neither my food or my wives . Fifteen minutes later our food finally arrived . When she brought it she mention sorry for the wait but you guys just miss the time frame to get a free meal . I couldn't believe she said that . I also notice that when the manager notices that you are not having a enjoyable experience she doesn't come to your table and greets you . I recently had the unfortunate pleasure of dining here this past Saturday night around 9,, and I had a terrible experience.. Our server was a blonde named Tiffany, and she had a very poor attitude. She was rude throughout our meal, slamming our plates down, and was not a happy person at all. She ruined our dinner. I had to leave quickly and did not have time to complain to management. Worst dinner experience ever. The food was less than average (I am talking friendly's quality level scale here) the waitress I think was on crack and the ice cream was 90% whipped cream and 10% ice cream. Hadn't been to friendly's in awhile and decided to try out an old favorite. Service was great and were seated quickly. Food needs a total overhaul. They either need to increase portion sizes or decrease prices. I ordered a clam chowder for an appetizer and did think that this particular item was reasonably priced and slightly larger than I remember. The entrees were a different story they were much smaller than I remember and also higher priced. I ordered a crispy chicken salad and the person I dined with ordered the munchie mania as their meal. What came out was appalling in size and for the price. The munchie mania had about 4 waffle fries drizzled with cheese and bacon( they forgot the sour cream and had to ask after it was served) and two small over cooked hamburger sliders with very little cheese and about five mini mozzarella sticks with emphasis on mini all for the inflated price of $10.49. My salad was served on a small plate, gone are the days of when they would serve them in a large salad bowl with grape tomatoes now they use underripe tomato wedges that tasted awful. Again this item was$9.99 for a very small portion. We were going to get some ice cream but after seeing the prices we declined. I really wanted a small fribble but thought $3.99 for a kids size was a lot. We paid are check and left deciding friendly's just charges way to much for the portions they now serve. I will say their ice cream still tastes great but with most grocery stores now selling their ice cream I see no reason to return to this location. read more

All these reviews are absolutely absurd and bothered me so much that I made this Yelp account in the first place. The service was great. Our waitress, Colleen, was incredibly friendly and appeared to be familiar with a lot of regulars that were attending at the time that I was, all the while she was able to provide quick and pleasant service. The food was great and I left feeling fully satisfied. Shame on all you other yelpers. read more

Went here for breakfast because I haven't had their breakfast in a long time. I been here a bunch of time for a light dinner and of course ice cream and the ice cream is always on point. So as soon as we walked in I got this whiff of old dirty carpet....NASTY! We should have walked right out because that is all I smelled the entire time we were there eating. We were seated right away, but it took a while for the waitress to come over to take our order. My wife looked at me and said 2 more minutes and we are out of here if no one comes over I didn't have a problem with that. I can understand if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't, there was 4 to 5 tables max. We both order 2 coffee's and 2 waters. Drinking water in CP is like drinking water out of a swimming pool....so much chlorine....LOL! I ordered meat lovers skillet but I told the waitress that I only wanted bacon. It was served under home fries and a side of toast on the side. My wife order french toast with sausage. The food came out and looked good, mine was good, my wife seemed to like her as well. Arrived on Sunday at 11:15 AM for breakfast. Numerous tables available however we were put on a list to wait Grossly understaffed. Went back in at 11:45 and we were still down on the list. I asked if we were sat after noon would breakfast still be served. The answer was no, and there would be no exceptions. So because they scheduled poorly we would not be able to eat breakfast. Pretty poor customer service. So we are down the road at IHOP enjoying our eggs and pancakes. read more

Waited an hour for food. The chicken breast strips were dried out and hard for a salad and a kids meal. Took the waitress a long time to come to table after delivery. Got one new breast immediately, took a long time for the second. Ordered ice cream, waited forever. Cancelled ice cream because the toddler was bored after being there for an hour, took bill to the front, continued to wait for box for leftover food. I call this place 'unfriendlys'. Boo read more

Not sure why this place has gone downhill so much in recent months...always a long wait to be seated, even when there are tons of open tables. Seems to be perpetually understaffed leading to stressed out servers and managers...food quality is mediocre, and if the kids didn't like the ice cream so much I doubt we'd go anymore....sad to see this once favorite of ours just disappoint every time we go read more

i placed a take out order of a burger and turkey sandwich.before i paid for the order i asked how long it would take as i had an appointment to get to, i was told 10-15 minutes, 35 minutes later i had to go inside to ask a waitress where the order was as the take out waitress wouldn't make eye contact with me or open the window to speak to me, my order still wasn't ready. while i was waiting i watched a family of seven place an outside ice cream order. 5 people got their order and 30 minutes later the two small children finally got their order...a cone of ice cream with sprinkles! no wonder Friendly's is disappearing from the map ! i will never go there again. read more

Went to Friendly's after a movie. For a fairly remodeled restaurant it stinks, odor sticks inside.

Walked in the place for ice cream at 11:00 on sat it closes at 12:00 the people had a attitude the minute we walked in never mind u they looked like they never seen soap the lady making the icecream was picking her nose.... We went here last week with my sister and brother in law from Arizona who always like to return to a friendlies when they visit. Food was ok, as was service. My main complaint is that it was freezing. Waitress said that the ducts blow hot air for 20 minutes and then cold air for the next 20. There were ceiling ducts all over so it was impossible to have a table that was not directly under a duct. If this is truly the case and not an aberration that happened on our visit, then they should get the heating system changed because we will not be back at all until the weather warms up. Wait staff was very matter of fact that this is how it is and they were uncomfortable also. read more

Yeah, it's a Friendly's ... wooo. But if you are in Clifton Park, you have to go there at least once. This Friendly's has history man. Go there any Friday during the school year and you'll find at least one member from any class of Shenendehowa High School. Go there during the summer and wait in line for an hour for a freakin' sundae. It's where all the seniors skip to. It's the very place that made all the children cry when it burned down a few years ago. But it's back, and better then ever. This Friendly's, once boasted as the most visited Friendly's in the Northeast, is Clifton Park. read more

This friendly's is soo slow and dirty I'm not sure how they stay open, and I've recently been told that the cooks there, the people who make your food are also in charge of cleaning the toilets. Now ask your self how can this be sanitary? Isn't a janitorial staff member supposed to be the one taking take of the DIRTY work? I for one will be saying good bye to the restaurant that i once loved, the many changes they have made over the years have really made an impact on my opinion of them.
