It's our last day in Southern California and after getting breakfast from Carrot & Daikon we visited Friendly Doughnuts in Orange County. Starting with the maple bacon donut, it was a decent take on the sweet and savory combination. The maple glaze had a pleasant sweetness, but the bacon wasn't as crispy as I would have liked. Still, if you're a fan of maple and bacon it's worth a try. The flan donut, on the other hand, was just okay for me. The flan flavor itself was nice, but there was too much cream filling, which overpowered the delicate flan taste. Overall, Friendly Doughnuts offers a decent selection with some creative spins. They're worth checking out if you're in the area and craving something sweet. read more

Came for some desserts after dinner and how cute is this place?? The art and decor felt so warm and inviting. We were welcomed by such friendly staff waiting patiently to take our order, as there were so many selections for us to choose from! This donut shop has been around for as long as I can remember. It has been completely revamped though, and even has photo op props inside. They serve some pretty unique items. If you're a fan of cream, like me, then you gotta get the Flan Donut. It's basically a donut sandwich with a massive mound of cream inside! Just be ready to open wide for this one...lol! They also cater for any event. The donuts will be made fresh to order with glazes, sauces and toppings. These large donut holes are crispy on the outside like a funnel cake, but super soft on the inside, like a cake donut. The blueberry sauce is my favorite. I also added a sprinkle of the chocolate cookie topping on top of the Thrifty vanilla ice cream scoop. Everything offered here is mouthwatering delicious! If you haven't been, you gotta make it out...you will not regret it! read more

One you are hooked to this place, you will never be able to leave this place. As a matter of fact, you will bring people you love into the shop. That's how much I love this adorable donut shop. I only took photos of their donuts but their jalapeno ham and cheese croissant is another gem that I always come back for. Warm and buttery croissant filled with savory ham and gooey cheese with a little kick of jalapeno is to die for. By the staff recommendation, I tried Einspanner (Iced Only) since I needed some caffeine and they did it again. It immediately stole my heart with the strong coffee and airy foam on top slowly streaming down. I sipped without mixing and then mixed everything and no matter how you drink it, it's fantastic. read more

Friendly Donuts is a place that you didn't know you needed in your life. The selection of options and the friendly atmosphere make this a must on any go-to donut/pastry shops you have on your list. I know, we may think of donut shops and say "hey I don't wake up early enough to get there when they have excellent selections" - - if that is you, then look no further! Sooooo many donuts to choose from!! All so delicious but very pricey. I got a variety of donuts and none of them let me down. Definitely get the flan donut, banana pudding donut, Ube donut, red velvet donut and a cruller (just because they are so light and freakin delicious). I was surprised they were not overly sweet but just the right amount to finish one without feeling gross. I really enjoyed the flan donut though, I couldn't put it down. I would pass on the cereal ones because the cereal tends to stale after some time and it's not as yummy fresh. I love cereal toppings or flavored foods but for donuts, I'm not a fan. This is a hidden gem in Orange, CA. No line when we came in and they still had some fresh donuts at 2pm. Need to stop by here if you're in the neighborhood. They even have some cute and funny T shirts to buy that you should check out. read more

But turns out she needed to have the offer in the app and the hours were limited and we got there after that. The lady who serviced us was super nice about it though, seeing my mom and I struggle with downloading the app and trying to find that offer, and since we waited in that long line (and were kinda still holding up the line) she gave me an original glazed donut for free anyways along with the assorted Build your Own 3pk I picked out. I got the Lemon Bar (50 cents extra), Cinnamon Apple Filled, and New York Cheesecake (50 cents extra) totaling to $9.67 with tax. The guy working said to the people in front of me that they sold out. It was my turn I asked if they had it and the guy said that they had a line since 3pm and that they sold out of the keg. We ended up getting two beers since we went anyways but that's when things didn't add up. He kept telling all the other people that started to show up the same thing. These are reasons why it didn't add up 1) empty seats inside but had a line since 3pm and beer was released at 4pm 2) I don't think the people going for younger would just order one beer and not try other RR beers? 3) only one guy working beer counter and having to clean the tables and make sandwiches? 4) 12 oz pours of beer and keg with about 1984 oz would make it 166 beers. No way they sold 166 beers in an hour with one person working the bar and shop empty in an hour. They could have posted on their instagram or socials that they sold out but failed to do so. I'm sure a lot of people all night were disappointed to see that they didn't have it or post anything about it.

I used to live up in Cowan heights and would pass Friendly donuts up and down the hill several times a day. Unfortunately for me, fortunately for them I would stop by a few times a weeks d get my fix! They are simply the best donuts in Orange County after I moved about 6 years ago I don't frequent here as much because I simply don't go by here. Tonight I was in a desperate frenzy for a Apple Fritter. I called ahead of time because I didn't want to drive all the way across town Incase they were out. The kid who answers the phone was really friendly, hence friendly donuts and was have a great tome at work. I asked him if he had any apple fritters and if he could put one on hold for me he immediately said yes what is your name. I drove around town to pick up my apple fritter I was anxiously waiting for and when I got there there were three or four guys working there and I have never met a friendlier group of guys. They were so funny I didn't even want to leave . I ended up not only getting the apple fritter but a sugar twist and a cinnamon roll too. I feel compelled to share my experience after receiving extremely poor service last Friday. The employee with dark hair and a septum piercing exhibited unprofessional behavior during my visit. I ordered a donut and an iced coffee, specifically requesting a little less foam, but instead of acknowledging my request, she simply stared at me and walked away. When I paid my total of $7.50 with an $8 bill, she placed my donut down without returning my change. When I politely asked for my change, she claimed it was set down on the counter, but I found nothing there. Her response felt accusatory, suggesting I was trying to take advantage of the situation. She then asked me what I had given her, raising her voice and questioning whether it was a $10 or $20 bill, all while displaying an aggressive demeanor. It was unsettling to witness such hostility over a routine transaction. I even asked if everything was okay, sensing something was off, but she responded by questioning if I was "good." Overall, I have never encountered such a lack of professionalism and hostility in a service setting, and it significantly detracted from my experience. Located at the corner of Hewes and Chapman, Friendly Donuts is one of those mom-and-pop places that are liberally sprinkled through the OC. Everything about this spot is just lovely. Lots of parking, spotless shop and, as advertised, a friendly staff. Note: I would bring cash since there is a surcharge for credit purchases. If you are hanging out at home in your jammies and don't want to get in the car for your sugary sweet donut fix, then you can order through Grubhub. Overall the donuts were just OK. I got three mochi donuts and a regular donut for comparison. They also have cronuts, but I've never been a fan of those. The regular donut was just your basic donut, and if someone brought a box of them to work I wouldn't say no. The mochi donuts were just... meh! I can't say that I would partake of those again. Well Friendly Donuts is the best donuts in town I've seen cops from other cities and stop and get there donuts and coffee. When i went in the afternoon and when I ask them how old was there coffee? they said 2 hours old but they said we can make you a new pot of coffee for me I was really happy with my fresh coffee and donuts. They open 24 hours and they have a spot for day old donuts there from yesterday and there half price and they are still tasty too. The donut shop is own my a Asian Family they have 3 sons from 10-18 help there parents at the shop and they love working there and when I see kids helping there parents I always want to come back to that shop. My wife and I hadn't eaten a donut in months. It was late Saturday afternoon and we suddenly had a yen for one. I went on google to find a place that would be open on Saturday evening and had good reviews. I actually drove 15 miles to this place. They didn't have many cake donuts left to choose from so I just selected a dozen variety, bear claws, a couple of cake, glaze, only one maple bar left, a couple of the cream filled canoles. I must say, they were all terrible. On top of that, I was charged .75 for using a credit card. My total bill was $19.75. He told her that they could work together to make the perfect donuts for her friends, even offering to let her submit drawings of what she had in mind. So she did just that. They are open 24/7 and I can here late at night with my boyfriend and the outside area threw me off because it looked a little sketchy but once we went in we were so surprised by the amount of assortment they had regarding donuts and desserts. Had an ube donut with blueberry glaze for $1.65 (what a rip off). The blueberry on the donut was all shriveled up and looked like it was a week old, so I threw it away because I didn't want to get sick. The donut also had red specks in it??? The donut didn't taste like ube at all, it just tasted like a regular plain cake donut. The donut itself was okay, but to me it just looks like they put purple food coloring in the dough to make it purple and over charge you for it. Wow, I am truly impressed by this donut shop! The variety of flavors here made it so hard to decide which one I wanted to try. This time, I chose the Ube Crossiant Wheel and Banana pudding, but I will definitely be coming back to try their other flavors as well as their mochinuts. Biting into both of these donuts felt like a party in my mouth. The crossiant wheel had the perfect amount of crisp, filling, and sweetness. The banana pudding was so fluffy and creamy. Overall, this donut shop deserves more hype and tops other donut shops I've been to and I have no complaints. Ohmygosh!!!!!! BEST CRONUTS aka DOSSANTS YOU CAN EVER GET AT THIS DONUT SHOP!!!!!! They make 2 batches everyday one in the morning and one in the evening I went during the evening they just told me they just made a batch of there dossants! It's suepr cheap $3.25 for a piece! it was flaky warm it was just amazing it melted in my mouth!!! They only had like 10 left but while eating in there dining room 4 more people came in about those dossants aka cronuts!! They are amazing!! Had to try there "Ube donuts" and I do have a taste of Ube. People that posting saying about they can't taste the Ube ?! Wtf is wrong with you. Obviously they don't know what Ube taste like. The taste of Ube is a light flavor not a heavy flavor. I can definitely taste it in the glaze and the plain one ! And awesome fast customer service keep up the good work! Friendly Donuts are the best donuts In OC. $1.50 is a reasonable price ! Some people complain about the pricing but I see you with a $600 wallet. Let's get real guys if you can drop 600 dollars on something you spend $1.50 on a donut. read more

Amazing experience! We were looking for donuts last night around 10pm. I looked on yelp for 24 hour donut shops in my area and this gem came up! From the outside this place looks like your average donut shop but once we got in we saw the amazing selection. My boyfriend got a maple bear claw and a peanut butter and jelly dossant which they made it to order specially for him. I got the strawberry vanilla dossant it was to die for! I'm so use to the dozen deals I donut places that every time I'm at a donut shop I feel obligated to get about a dozen. Next thing you know I'm racking up 27 bucks worth of donuts. Ah wells thug life. The service was average. The dude wasn't really enthusiastic but it was pretty late and I guess he was getting aggravated with all the donuts I was picking up loll. Ok so I've going to this place for about four months now because I'm working in Silverado Canyon....There donuts are excellent! It's hard to pick one favorite but I think the Blueberry Cake Donut is my favorite! I live in Glendora and live very close to donut man....I must say I like Friendly Donuts better than the Donut Man!
