Sadly disappointed with the Downtown Disney location. Family and I went to the Downtown Disney location yesterday 2/22 and was sad to see that the experience was not the same as other locations. We've been a huge supporter and advocate of Cathy's Cookies for YEARS. We brag about them to all of our co-workers, friends and family across the US. We first learned of them at the LA County Fair where we actually met the husband and wife owners. Although prices have gone up, we still end up buying buckets every time we go. And yes buckets (plural) from them. Probably a minimum of 3-4. We've also followed them to Lowe's, Angel's stadium and Super A Foods parking lots. What addicted us was the crunchy buttery hot and chewy goodness you get in every bite. We love how the buckets are over flowing so much that the lid can't close so they angle the lid inside of the bucket sideways. You basically have to eat 4-5 cookies just to close the lid. Yesterday was just not the same. Here are what we experienced: 1. They ran out of bucket lids. How is that possible. Don't they come in a set? Thank goodness they didn't run out of buckets. It was only 4pm. 2. My 2 buckets were not overflowing, they weren't even filled to the top. Probably rookies to Cathy's don't even know the difference compared to the LA County Fair. 3. My cookies were not HOT and didn't seem fresh out of the oven. They were given to me too quickly. I know this because when we order it's always at least 2 minutes before they're ready. These were sitting on the counter and handed to me in seconds. 4. Odd and small shaped cookies. I know they're still good and readers are shaking their heads thinking I'm picky but we'll probably pass on the Downtown Disney location next time. I'm guessing it's probably because kids are running the location. The lines can get long there so they're probably scrambling to keep up with demand. I mean, I've had better at the Lowe's parking lot. If the owners are reading this, not trying to hurt your business, just trying to make you aware of how things are being run at that location. I first noticed Cathy's Cookies truck in Downtown Disney closer by the hotel entrance. I was so full that night and promised I would try it another day when I'm back at downtown. I'm not sure of their schedule but every time I looked for the truck, they were never there. Months passed and I finally spotted their truck again on a random Wednesday evening, I didn't hesitate this time to try it! They only serve chocolate chip cookies and I got the sleeve of cookies. They were warm and tasted fresh out of the oven. So good! The cookies were soft with crispy edges. I do like my cookies on the chewy and doughy side. However, as soon as the cookies cooled down, they lost that chewiness since they're on the flatter/thin side. Although it still tasted good, I didn't quite enjoy them after they became just crunchy. I get inflation and try to be understanding... but man a bucket of cookies for $28 is just too much! I love these cookies.. I love their customer service but I don't think we will be frequent customers anymore just based on the prices. I am a baker and have a small catering business.. We were fighting jet lag by staying up late late to watch the Bruins do what the Bruins do, the only good part about Saturday night at the Rosebowl was Cathy's Cookies! My brothers girlfriend spotted them and b lined for a bucket, she told us they were not taking any home and the four of us had to eat the entire bucket. Challenge accepted. I'm not sure if we polished off all of them but we put a very admirable dent in this bucket. They were warm and fresh and remained so through most of the game, on a cool evening.
