What I ordered: - Churros with cajeta, lechera, and strawberry jam I'm so glad that Churros Don Abel moved their truck from LA to OC so I could enjoy them more often! The best churros I've eaten so far. The churros are fried wonderfully, crispy outside and soft inside. The trio of cajeta (mexican caramel sauce), lechera (condensed milk), and strawberry jam is dangerously decadent!
Churros Don Abel is quite good... My favorite is Don Churros Gomez in Anaheim. However, the wait there is long so if you're in a pinch and craving churros, you can drop by Churros Don Abel. I only waited about 3 minutes and my order came out! Incredible service! The only downside here is you have to order a minimum of 5 churros for $10. The churros were piping hot, crunchy on the outside, and doughy on the inside. They felt light and airy, and within a matter of minutes, we had scarfed them down! They also sell cajeta (caramel sauce) for $5 and $9, depending on the size. The guy was very nice and also asked us if we wanted to buy their aguas frescas, which came in a variety of flavors. This place is located at the Haster Basin Recreational Area, so you can go for a walk around the loop after if you'd like to burn off them calories. They're open every day at 4:30pm and are closed on Mondays. I've been meaning to try this place for a while, and I'm glad I did. This is a great place to buy churros in bulk for a party. Saw on social media that they were open on Thanksgiving. We drove out to grab a tray for the family dinner. I went with the 50 pieces ($74). They are made to order, the tray was nice and hot and only took a couple of minutes. The churros were perfectly fried, and stayed nice and crunchy throughout the night. They were a big hit at our family dinner. Will be picking up some more in the future.
Yes! Golden churros with milky cajeta!! The churros are so light and soft on the inside and nice and crunchy on the outside. Pairs so well with the cajeta. It's sweet and creamy and anyone with a sweet tooth would definitely approve!!
So....went to the Angels game yesterday afternoon, and then after, wanted some churros. Went down to my usual spot, but they were closed. Quick Yelp search and I found Don Abel. Glad I did! I went with the #1 which is a bag of 5 churros. It was $10.00. Maybe just a tad high $$ for the churros? I also got a small container of their cajeta $5.00. (My buddy paid for it). Dude....I was in heaven! The churros were super hot and crispy and crunchy, and that cajeta....the best I've ever had. On the sticker, it says its made exclusively for Churros Don Abel. It was so creamy and rich! I mowed down all my churros all while dipping it in this great cajeta. Service was very friendly from the guys in the truck! They have free coffee too, if you want! I will definitely come back at some point when I am in Anaheim.
These are the best churros i've ever had! Forget Disney churros, these are perfectly crispy and airy and have the right amount of sugar on it. The man also offered us some coffee while we wait, superb service. Will always come back whenever i'm in Socal!
My all time favorite churro spot! I usually do the 6 churros with Fresca and Lechera. I love how crunchy, but soft it is on the inside. It isn't overly sweet, but with the sauces it can be sweet. They accept card!
Decided to venture a little further North in Orange County. Stumbled upon a little park with a slew of food trucks parked on the road. Each truck was brightly lit with neon signs and even music. Parking: there is street and lot, be careful not to enter through the exit as it may puncture your tires! Service: quick and simple Menu: it's a number system; I ordered the number 2 (which is an order of 5) I walked down the block to check out the other trucks and to my surprise each truck had a little something different so I'm excited to come back and try the rest. I got my order, walked back into my car and to my surprise I had a little more than 5 churros so kudos to them! Perfectly fried, right amount of sweetness, and chewy but pillowy soft center. I cannot wait to go back. Try it! You won't regret it!

The golden churros arrived piping hot with a crunchy exterior and pillowy interior. Each churro had a generous coating of cinnamon sugar. Every bite translated into pure joy across our faces and the utmost safisfaction for our sweet tooth. Don't just get 1 single churro. These are wildly addicting - You'll want more and more! It's better to start with 5 churros at a minimum. I recommend bringing cash to avoid the $1.00 credit card fee!
Deliciousness Crispy fresh and pipping hot little churros with a little bit of a chew to them. They are a perfectly fried sweet treat - there might be a little but if a line but overall delicious. There's plenty of parking and the service is fine they have some drinks as well but those are also pretty sweet.

This is another place I have Ben driving by and and finally stopped in-- there are about 4 or 5 food trucks there ( all of trucks offer solid food btw) and CDA isn't hard to find. First thing that I love is their prices -- you can get 20 for $18, or 10 for $12 or so. You can also buy caramel, strawberry sauce, and other toppings that go along with Churros. They make them after you order, so you get them hot -- a few times we will just eat them right there. Because they are made fresh they will be slightly greasy, make sure to grab some extra napkins to handle the hot churros. I think people are so used to buying overpriced churros that were made hours in advance ( sports events, amusement parks) they think the grease is a bad thing. I know they have several locations in SoCal and the staff is always super friendly and will help you make a decision. If you are looking for something different for dessert that is price conscious ( $10 gets you dessert for a family easy) and just delicious, give CDA a shot. Thanks!!! 12
My absolute favorite place to get churros! I always get the churrochiny and it is so fresh and delicious every time! These churros are different compared to regular churros because it's crispy all around and it's so addicting to eat since it's lighter and not as doughy. I definitely recommend this place for a late night dessert!

You really can't beat a fresh churro - and these churros are just SO DELISH! We lucked out - and there were only about 5 people in line when we arrived. We have actually waited about 45 minutes in line then another 15 minutes for our order - so you know they're good when people are willing to wait an hour for them. My favorite is just the classic churros - or the little bites. We tried the churros con cajeta but I wasn't too impressed with it. If you're a first timer, be sure to try a variety of churros like we did. But I'll bet you'll find that you just like the classic churros the best!! read more
They always have churros made fresh! Live stopping by here at night. They are perfectly thin and crispy on the outside and not doughy on the inside. Their food truck is usually parked on the side of the park, so there is plenty of parking available. My go to is the churochiny item on the menu. I think this is better than Don churros Gomez. Highly recommend getting the churros with cajeta (caramel) and condensed milk! read more

Churros Don Abel is a food truck located at the corner of Lampson Ave and Hester St. You can use the Haster Park parking lot. However, the entrance into the parking lot is from Haster St and the exit is out Lampson Ave. You cannot enter from Lampson Ave, if you do, the spikes will pop your tires. We ordered a bag of 10 churros for $17. It's made to order and took about 10 minutes. It was piping hot and came with caramel dipping sauce. Took us 10 minutes to get home and it was still crispy crunchy. I was full from eating two! They were about 11-12inches long! I have heard these were the best churros but had no idea until I tried it myself. Reminded me of when I was in Spain. They open late night. $1 charge will be added if you pay with credit cards. read more

Learned of this food truck from my neighbor who said best churros would be from a food truck out in garden grove and so I had to do a little research and I found the truck he was referring to. Boy was he right, these churros were crispy and light! They even have a free coffee flavored with cane sugar to pair well with the churro! Would come back for these crispy churros any day! read more
Been coming in for a good minute after getting some tacos. The churros are always freshly made and delicious. The lines can get long depending when you go but it goes by pretty quick! Definitely eat the churros there when it is fresh or it won't be as good. The location is on the side of the street so you are just standing and eating outside which is chill so don't expect a sit down place read more

These are by far the best damn churros I've ever had!!!! My cousin put me on this spot located near the park on Lampson, there is a parking lot with lots of parking and street parking alongside these food trucks. There are tables and chairs set around to enjoy the meal then and there. Limited so might be a safer bet to consume at home or in the car. I actually assumed that it would be quick to get the churros as if they're sitting there out in the open but no, it took a handful of minutes and they came out fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. It's soft, not doughy, and not too sweet - they're simply perfect and soooooo crispy 10/10 Went here around 8:30 on a Tuesday night no line read more

So good! Reminds me of the churros they serve in Spain. This is going to be different than your regular Disneyland or Costco churros. Super authentic. Perfectly fried, and not too oily. We ordered the #6 - 6 churros with lechera and and caramel. Was ordered the toppings would be too sweet but it was just right. And they came out so hot and fresh! read more
This is the same owner as the original spot in East LA. Seems like they expanded to different locations and I'm glad. Still Consistent. The churros will probably be the best you ever had. They are light tasting, not heavy and just perfect amount of sugar. Not overly sweet. Honesty if close your eyes and eat and don't see the food truck, you think you ate a high quality pastry at a French restaurant or something. Some people I know even said it's better than ones sold on street in Mexico. Im also a fan of Amara in Pasadena, a well known Venezuelan style churro. It's in a more classy area with a few thousand reviews. But honestly Don Abel churros wins overall vs Amara. And Don's cost 4 times less. I even had Horchataria that has high reviews, Don Abel's hands down also win. Don Abel will knock out any other churro opponent in the ring hands down! Haha This location here closes in Mondays and this location come 3:30 pm or after. Before that you won't see them yet. I came early and waited 30 minutes for them to set up and I tell yah it was worth it. My tip to foodies, grab some black coffee, just black. Get a bag of churros here and enjoy life lol Also please eating them fresh and hot is good, but the best way is wait for them to cool down room temps, the texture and flavor really comes to life. read more

Friendly people and amazing churros at fair prices. The churros are very fresh with a nice crisp on the outside with an almost mochi-like chewy interior. I don't know a lot of churro spots, but this is probably the best churros I've ever had. Goes great paired with the taco trucks nearby. Parking is available at the park right next to it. Be careful around the park though if you're alone. It's not incredibly dangerous but it's very dark and definitely not the safest neighborhood. read more
This churros are so good, for real. Slightly firm on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The smaller size makes them even more addicting. With the caramel sauce, good game, it's easy to down 5 churros in one sitting. Roughly $1.50 each for a churro and is cheaper per each as you buy more at a time. If you're solo, just buy 5 churros, you won't regret it. Made fresh to order so it's going to be amazing when you return back later that day. Good bye Costco churros, I'll never order you again. If you prefer the larger style churros and are not open to a different style, this spot is not for you. read more

Churros Don Abel is a food truck that is located in Garden Grove off of Lampson. Sometimes the wait can get a little crazy but they do take cash and card. I def recommend getting a side of the caramel sauce although on the pricier side as it is $4.50 which is more then a couple of churros but its a decent size container and it is so good on ice cream, pancakes etc. The leche icing is also divine with the hot churros. Staff is also friendly and welcoming. Recommend stopping by all means! read more

Amazing churro truck! You order, pay and wait for your churros to be handed to you. I love that ordering system as you won't be going up randomly and asking if your order is ready. Churros are piping hot, crunchy and thin. Reasonable price and they cater. Great caramel sauce that I like to take home and drizzle on ice cream. Closed on Mondays. read more
