In June I took my vehicle in to have some work done, one of those things being a battery replacement, also one of the main reasons I took my vehicle in. I had also taken my vehicle in to get an alignment in months prior, but even after my second visit here my car was still handling irregularly. I took my vehicle to a dealership mechanic a week or two later, only to find the battery from 2019 I paid to have replaced was STILL in my car; as well as no evidence of a proper alignment being done within the past year. Mine and my family member's experience working with this company is they are like every other mechanic, looking to make a quick buck off people rather than focus on doing decent work. 1 star for lack of integrity. read more

I might have gone on a bad day, and it didn't help that I am a woman. I didn't mind that no one there was "friendly" because I don't need that, what I need was upfront, honest, service. Unfortunately that is not what I received. I was not at all heard, was charged more than I was told for the upfront diagnostic, and spoken to like a child. Both Steve and Arik were borderline rude and condescending. they assured me the problem was the battery. Almost $500 later it was NOT the battery! Air conditioning on 2006 pickup was only blowing hot air in July. Friendly Auto Center got it in right away and I picked it up in a couple of hours. Blowing cold air again. I've been happy with their repairs on various vehicles. One major car dealer claimed my car needed multiple repairs and it would be multiple thousands of dollars. I declined. From all the rain and winter weather, a lot of potholes have opened up on the streets in Phoenix and Northern Arizona. These potholes caused my car to start driving in a wobbly manner. Luckily, I brought my car into Friendly Auto Centers and they were able to diagnose the issue within an hour AND even got my car fixed up and returned to me within 24 hours! Horrible experience!!!!! On the surface, this shop seems to be a great place to take your vehicle to be serviced or repaired. I have used them in the past for a couple of things, and everything went smoothly. We really thought we had a shop close by that we could count on for honest auto service at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, this is not always the case with "Friendly" Auto Centers. I brought my Honda Accord to this shop on Thursday last week because it was overheating and leaking oil. I dropped it off early for the day, and Steve called me about mid-morning to explain what was wrong. The primary urgent issue was a combination of a broken thermostat and cracked radiator. They also discovered an oil leak at the valve cover, and a possible leak at the oil pan. He said one of the rear wheel cylinders needed to be replaced as well, but that was not urgent. Steve explained that he could take care of the first issue which would include a coolant flush and new hoses, and then clean the engine and confirm the location of the oil leaks before removing parts to replace them. I explained to Steve that I could not afford to have them perform the repairs at that time. I explained that I have some experience with working on cars and I will have to do some of the work myself. I explained that I would bring it back at a later time to have them fix any remaining leaks at the oil pan if applicable, and the wheel cylinders. My girlfriend and I picked up the car later that day and paid them $93 for their time to diagnose the vehicle. I replaced the radiator, thermostat, hoses, and valve cover gasket myself that weekend within a few hours in my garage. This morning (Monday), I get a rude call from Steve asking me why I disputed the credit card charge for the diagnostic fee. I advised him that I did not do that, and that there must be a mistake or error with the bank. He continued to accuse me, saying that he already spoke to them and they told him that it is coming from me. I advised him AGAIN that I did not reverse or dispute the charge, and that I would look into it. His tone and voice was accusatory, and he treated me like I was some kind of criminal. After confirming with the bank that the charge is in fact processing and was not disputed or reversed, I called the shop. I was put on hold by the kid answering the phones, and waited on hold for OVER 6 minutes. The kid answers again as if I was a new call, I reminded him that I am holding to speak to Steve. After another few minutes, Steve came on the phone, but he unprofessionally failed to introduce himself when he answered. I began to explain who I was and that I confirmed the charge was not disputed, and he cut me off saying he already got it figured out and it is being processed, and that it was a technical issue with the bank. I politely told him I did not appreciate him calling and accusing me of ripping him off, and he continued to speak over me and was unapologetic and rude. He did not think he did anything wrong. He tried to point the finger at ME and backtracked the whole prior conversation!!! DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY UNLESS YOU ARE PAYING THEM TONS OF MONEY FOR LABOR TO DO A SIMPLE JOB. IF YOU DECLINE THEIR RECOMMENDED SERVICE, YOU MIGHT BE HARASSED AND ACCUSED OF STEALING. read more

I have a 2018 Range Rover sport in excellent condition so I didn't trust it was just anyone. I went to Land Rover first and they were going to charge me $2300 for a 30,000 mile service ( they do things that don't need to be done).I talked with friendly and they agreed not to charge me anything. They had my truck for 10 days. I took my truck is because the temp gauge was staying on cold and I had a power steering leak. $149.65 to diagnose the cooling system. $1,106 in cooling system repairs. AND THE GUAGE STILL STAYS ON COLD. When I asked what they were going to do about it, they said I'd have to leave it. Power steering leak they fixed. They found a leak in the brake master cylinder; $558 in repairs and now the ABS light stays on. They don't know why. They said one of my fuel tanks had BAD gas and showed me what looked like somebodies spit plastic bottle. Being on in a time crunch, I said fix it. $702. When they removed the tank, the gas in it looked just like the gas out of the pump and no rust in the tank. At this point I was totally fed up. When I picked up the truck the tech said he thought I needed front wheel bearings. not so Friendly quoted me $433. The local Ford Dealer did the front bearings AND BRAKES for $155 less. It was time for vehicle registration renewal and emissions tests. My 'MS 1999' VOLVO started flashing her ODM signal, the CHECK ENGINE (light) The light would go on once I started the car and run for about two minutes, then off again. This lasted for about a week. I knew we could not pass the emissions test. Took her to FRIENDLY AUTO CENTERs. (Would I take her anywhere else?-NO!!!!!) DIAGNOSIS: She had a cracked ODM box and a new one was necessary in order to pass ANY emissions test. The part was ordered. While waiting for the part they also checked battery, belts and a host of other parts. Found out I needed new tires. Gave the ok for it all. Over the years, they have helped me keep her together, running almost like new! I would not take her to any other service center. Their staff of mechanics and techs are knowledgeable, trustful, and professional. They remember you and your auto and also go out of their way to help with small things. My car is a bit over 25 years old. Thought of getting a newer one, but WHY when FRIENDLY AUTO CENTERS keeps us legitimately on the road. I highly recommend them. They are the DOCTORS and SURGEONS for my Ms 1999 VOLVO! Thank you Friendly Auto Centers for all your help. read more

IMO, if they offer a AAA discount of 10% then it would make sense for them to ask the customer if they are AAA member as a part of regular dialogue with the customer. I was looking for a place to get my oil changed as well as a tire rotation when I stumbled upon this place. When making the appointment I had informed the gentlemen on the phone about some concerns I was having with my brakes (my car in general). I brought my car in and the lady who helped me was so sweet and talked me through the entire process of what they were going to do to my car which included topping off all my fluids if needed. When it came time to pick up my car, they had informed me that they were able to check my brakes since I had some concerns. I needed an oil change. Sunland, who I usually take my vehicles to was booked a week out so I called Friendly Auto Center. They were able to take me in next day. I arrived on time. Unfortunately, I waited for an hour and half for them to do the oil change. Then one of the mechanics told me I had an oil leak. The reason no oil was left in my driveway or anywhere else I parked it was because it was "a slow leak that did not drip oil but caused it to cake up". He said they would have to stem that area of engine to clean it up then put in a colored dye so they can figure out where this "leak" is. Well, I was not born yesterday. If it was simply "caking up", then you simply look for the area with the highest mound. Duh. No need to spend a couple hundred just to diagnose that. Of course, my respected auto place (Sunland) said there was no such leak. It is a new Tundra by the way. To make matters worse, which is why I am writing this is because apparently there is a mark on my CarFax about not having the oil changed because I did not return to Friendly Auto Center. Friendly Auto lives up to their name. They are indeed friendly just not to your wallet. They took the time to diagnose and explain everything that was wrong with my car to me. I brought my car in due to lurching that was occurring after running my AC for a period of time. They first did a valve adjustment, which did not fix the issue. Then after bring it back they replaced the coils and spark plugs. They replaced my coils x4 ($510) , recommended to replace spark plugs ($90), and did a valve adjustment ($465) to my car plus labor ($300) for a grand total of $1525. They did put in factory grade parts so I understand the cost for those parts however the labor is definitely on the high end. The first time I brought my car home the issue was not fixed and two parts of my car were missing. When I brought my car back for them to look at it again they did replace the missing parts at no cost to me and they were able to fix the issue of the lurching. read more
