Friendly Auto has become my only go to for all my auto repairs. They installed a new motor in my truck a few years back and I have become a loyal customer since then. They are honest and offer various payment opinions. My last visit I was not charged for my battery cable they replaced. Thank you guys! read more

Had regular service work, oil change, AC service and a few other items performed. Front desk & shop personnel are great, friendly, polite, easy going. Prices are more than reasonable. Great experience all the way around !! We have found our go to garage !! We highly recommend their services ! We'll be back !!! read more

Steve and Mike are the Bestest. The biggest issue with most service department and auto shops is lack of communication. Steve was always letting me know the progress of the work being done... Great Service.. Highly Recommend. I traveled from Arcadia/Biltmore because I trust their work and know I will get more value then the cost.. Jerry read more

I own a Smart Car. They are the only ones in the area that seem knowledgeable on how to service them. I have sent other Smart Car owners in the area to get their Smarties serviced there too. Thanks for your help guys. read more

I just moved here for graduate school to AZ and I don't have a trusted auto repair store yet. I went online because I had a AAA coupon and they are AAA certified. I made an appointment and as soon as I showed up they took my car back Manny told me it would be an hour, I left in an hour. I felt he was so incredibly honest which is hard to come back with auto places and being a female. He explained everything to me and not just told me what was wrong he showed me and brought out my filters. He was so wonderful from beginning to end. They also had a great lounge with water and a/c. Will definitely recommend in the future. Thank you Manny and everyone at Friendly's. Nothing like great service to keep a customer. read more

Very friendly and kind staff. I was given a full car diagnosis and the car was fixed within 24 of dropping the car off. Great service. hopefully i'll never have to see them again, but would recommend to those who need repairs. read more

I have to say, Friendly auto centers is by far one of the best shops in town...I purchased a new/old Range Rover, went in for some preventative maintenance then it turned out it needed some serious front suspension service, I do have a warranty and since it's pretty early into the warranty, 1 week after purchase, they're trying to say it was a preexisting condition, Steve hasn't stopped fighting them on my behalf. I'll be taking my ride to his shop whenever I need service, hopefully I won't have to see him for a few years but let's face it, it's a 10 year old RR...take your vehicle to Friendly AC. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews, and we've felt taken care of in the past by Friendly Auto. But we took our car in for a mere oil change, and we were told the coolant had leaked a gallon of fluid caused by a leak; and then they proceeded to tell me how we needed to change out the hoses, and thermostat, and all this stuff with it for a total over $900. I mentioned, "Shouldn't I have over-heating issues, engine lights, and/or noticable leakage if this was the case (all of which wasn't happening with the car)? Then the service rep started getting frustrated with me telling me how if I'm going out of town soon I shouldn't drive away with this the way it is. I told them we just wanted to pay for the oil change and leave it at that. We then took it to another shop who did a thorough diagnosis and didn't charge us a dime after letting us know nothing was wrong with the car. We will never go back to (Un)Friendly Auto again. I left 2 stars because usually less stars are crap reviews and I feel like people should know what they might be dealing with. And maybe it's just the luck of the draw with who works on your car, but there you go. read more

Zero stars should be an option just for people like this. I've never left a 1 Star review but The guy behind the counter WAS A JERK! Then they quoted me 150 bucks more than aamco. And aamco's already expensive. Kept feeding me bs and saying "it's no problem, we do this every day". I now see that "ripping people off" is what they do every day. Won't be back and suggest you look elsewhere. #fraudlyautocenters read more

So VERY THANKFUL for the service and HONESTY shown to us. We have been in Arizona for 7 years and have struggled to find an auto repair place that we felt actually cared about us and our cars safety and not just our money. We took an older vehicle that we bought for our daughter to go to college in. It unfortunately started to have a major engine issue. Steve was up front and honest about all that was wrong with it. Told us what needed to be repaired and why. Made a couple of other recommendations to help avoid any future issues while she is away at school. He taught us about how these issues happen and then went above and beyond to insure that the car would be safe for her to take to college out of state. He treated us like family and that made all the difference. We will only go to Friendly Auto Center for our car repair needs. read more

Friendly Auto Centers - Auto Repair Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

I scheduled an appt. for 2:00 to get a full check-up of my vehicle and what I'd need for a brake repair. My daughter arrives early, sat there for 30 minutes. Telling her repeatedly that there wasn't a scheduled appointment because I didn't confirm it. Not sure how I was supposed to confirm an appt. That wasn't mentioned when it was scheduled. Then they told my daughter I must have gone through Quest. No clue what that is either, no worries. None of my three vehicles will be services by this place, no matter the reviews. It's about CUSTOMER service. Whoever the lady that works there is she's rude. read more

Went here to get a second opinion about my AC and was very impressed with the honest and excellent service. The AAA discount was also a nice bonus! Will definitely return and recommend this business to everyone!! read more

Very friendly staff. Very helpful. I know almost nothing about car mechanics, but when my car go brokey, they fixy. And when what they repaired broke again, after almost a year, they fixed it again, FOR FREE! So when they say lifetime warranty for parts and labor, they mean it. read more

*** New management maybe???? I first went to Friendly Auto a couple of years ago because of their positive Yelp reviews. For the longest time, they were great. Lately, specifically over the last few visits, their service has been awful. Last week I took my car in for an oil change. They said "an hour, tops" so I waited there. 90 minutes later I go back into the lobby to ask about my car, and the guy says "shouldn't be more than a few more minutes." I look around, my car isn't in the bay, it's actually parked outside. So I ask him if it has even started yet, and then he decides to look around and notices my completed paperwork is on the counter. God knows how long I would have had to wait had I not asked. Why say "shouldn't be more than a few more minutes" before even looking or knowing what the real answer is? I chalk it up to a bad day. No big deal. Today I bring my wife's truck in for a serpentine belt replacement. "Should be an hour - we get the part, and then 20 minutes labor. We'll call you." I leave to go run errands. Two hours later I call asking for a status, and they said they just realized they had the wrong part, and it would be another 30 minutes or so. It took them over two hours to figure out they had the wrong part, when the original estimate was an hour? When I picked up the truck, I told them I was very sad that their service had declined and to take me out of their customer list. He replied "well, you're free to do what you want..." No ownership, no responsibility, and no apology. Back to looking for a new service shop ... good help is truly hard to find. I'm sad to see this shop decline so significantly. ***** I wanted to comment on the reply that was left for this review. Yes, I missed the call that my car was ready. What the responder failed to mention was that I called back within 30 seconds. How is that relevant or mitigating? This doesn't change any of the facts, that I was told it would be an hour, that they didn't realize they had the wrong part until over two hours, and that no call was made to tell me it would be longer than quoted by more than double. The only call I received was when the car was finished, almost three hours later. I'm not sure the statement "well you are free to do what you want" counts as profusely apologizing. An apology would be something along the lines of "I'm sorry we screwed up your afternoon plans, twice, and we will counsel the employee(s) responsible to minimize the chance of this happening again." Mistakes happen, sure, but blaming the customer for being upset about delays? I've said my peace, take care. read more

I don't even know where to begin with my experience here. Steve is the Owner and rolled out the red carpet for me! I am preparing for a long drive to New Orleans and he checked my car bumper to bumper. Not only did he make the necessary repairs in a day but he also fixed some other minor things LIKE MY TEMPERATURE GUAGE! Sheesh who wants to travel 1500 miles without that information? I am so grateful for Steve and the top notch customer service experience I recieved here. As a woman I have many times felt like I was treated poorly in the auto shops but Steve treated me like he would want the women in his life treated. I can't express how much that means to me! I can't wait to hit the road now that I know I am safe! read more

Was told on Wednesday to come in at 8:00 am this morning to have my vehicle looked at, as I need to pass emissions. Apparently a tech no call no showed and rather than empathize with me as a customer and try to make it work, I was turned away. I explained again I needed it done today as they previously installed the part. Was told by the guy at the desk who sits next to Adam, they need to do a diagnostic test to ensure it is the same issue. I was under the impression from my initial visit that there already was a diagnostic ran as I used a coupon that included a multi inspection, oil change and other services. He looked me up and said no it was not done. He asked me to come in during the week but I work Monday through Friday, and after I said that he didn't even offer for a next week Saturday. Unbelievable. I get that's it's Saturday and you don't want to be there, but don't go to work if that's the case. I felt as I walked in I was already judged by my age and the way the guy turned me away he might as well said "get out of here kid." Aren't you supposed to be "Friendly" Auto? There wasn't anything friendly about this visit. I have 3 vehicles and I will not be bringing back any one of them. I see there are great reviews on here so this must be during the week. Cause they clearly don't want to be there on Saturday's. And apparently I wasn't old enough to get the respect and service I deserved as a paying customer returning to have my vehicle looked at (that Friendly Auto previously worked on.) Now I'm going to buy a temporary tag and look for another mechanic in the valley who actually cares about their customers 24/7 and not at their convenience. 1 star for the review, though if it were up to me I'd rather give no stars. The guy didn't give me his name, but I sure hope he wasn't the supervisor. read more

Steve and his team took great care of me and my car. They ran several tests and gave me an honest diagnosis for my air conditioning. After finding Friendly's on Yelp and sending a quick message to Steve with a quick question on a leak we had in our car, he promptly responded and asked for us to come on down for their guys to check out the car. They were very quick with getting back to us and shared with us what was leaking and gave us a couple of options as to what to fix and what they would also recommend that we fix. They were not pushy at all and told us to take our time to make a decision. We chose to go ahead with their recommendations since the car was getting older and we felt their price was fair. They did the repair very quickly and when we picked up the car they had even washed the car and cleaned out the entire inside! That was a great surprise to us all as we did not ask them to do that! All in all we were happy with their work and their communications. read more

Do I begin with the front desk is clueless or do I move straight into the inept mechanics to identify a problem. Took my truck in for the belts to be changed and a squeaking noise related to the belt issue. Four hours later and a cost of $450 and still have the squeaking noise. A month later scheduled the trucks air con and heater to be fixed as it wasn't working properly and identify a squeak in the front drivers front wheel. Another four hours and $450 dollars for the replacement of the water pump and the heater still doesn't work. After speaking with Steve the 'owner' (I believe he sold the company and makes occasional visits) on Monday and scheduling an appointment for today to fix the front driver side squeak and the air/heater issue, I was referred to the $800 quote I was given in January. Was also informed it wasn't advisable to wait as it would be at least an all day repair. Having one vehicle, this was no time to tell an ex-customer to find transportation to wherever. Will pay a little more and take it to experts. I recommend not using this company read more

The guys will treat you right. Steve, owner, is serious about standing out from the other guys in the industry. His staff put my tires on quick. Steve later showed me something about the oil filters that a distributor was trying to sell him. He said they were crap and had cut one open to show the inferior quality. He said he would not be using such items on people's cars. It's the little things that you wouldn't be aware of that show they are trying to do right by you. read more

I found out about Friendly Auto Center through a networking group and didn't think much else about it. Then about 6 months later my car had a mid-life crisis and the dealership wanted almost 2K to do the work. So I gave Friendly a call and talked to Steve. He got me right in to do an eval and the quote was significantly less then the dealership to do all the work and some. From start to finish working with both Steve and Mike it was a dream come true. No double talk, no dumbing down because I'm a female and honest advice. I will be bringing my car here for all service from now on. Thanks guys! read more

Great service!! Went in for an oil change, they checked out my whole car and let me know everything was good. I'll be back, for sure!

Had a great experience, first with Uhaul rental and then with my oil change. They brought up a couple of concerns that i knew about already and didn't try and force the repair down your throat like so many others. Sent my girlfriend in the next day for her oil change and learned about her issues. They also told her that I could fix some of the stuff for her to save her money. A auto service center that does that gets a 'A' plus in my book. Great job guys. "I'll be back" read more
