Me and my friends came here for lunch. We all ordered small phos for 13$ each. We also ordered spring rolls. As I was swiping my card and it didn't read the cashier laughed at me. My card worked on the second try, and I waited approximately 10 minutes for my food. The spring rolls were delivered to the wrong table despite there only being two tables in the restaurant. That being said, I later ordered a drink in which the cashier laughed at me again for the card not working. Then, when we asked for the spring rolls, they gave them to us without apologizing in which we could overhear the cook telling off the cashier/waiter in Vietnamese. This is a good size Vietnamese restaurant that is next to A1 pizza. We went about an hour before close. Surprised to see no one or any DoorDash orders. We got a couple of Lemongrass tofu Banh Mi. It was decent. They could have served it with a fish sauce on the side as the sandwich gets pretty dry. It is good value for money. We also ordered the Tofu and Veg spring roll. This was pretty good with the peanut dipping sauce. Service was good and quick. Decor is primarily from IKEA. I want to try their soups the next time. I would recommend this place for a quick meal. They have been open for a while now and the service quality seems to have actually declined. I want to like this place and I have had good meals here but lately they have really, really messed up my orders. If there is a guy and a lady(and the guy may no longer work there since I haven't seen him in a while) then the service is good but if it's two ladies they are scrambling to get the door unlocked in time for when they are supposed to open. Not only that I wanted a vermicelli rice bowl once and they gave me one but without any noodles. Another time I wanted the rice bowl with chicken and instead they give me a chicken banh mi sandwich. Maybe they are running short on noodles and they keep what they have for their pho? Who knows but after the latest incident of getting a sandwich instead of a rice bowl I think I am finished coming here. There have been other minor aggravations as well but the things I mentioned above are the really big foul up's. They put carrots in their spring rolls, which I loved the texture in there. Two long filling spring rolls in one package. We ordered the beef pho. How can you go wrong with clear clean broth? Lots of rice noodles and just the right amount of sprouts and basil inside my bowl. For under $5, this was an amazing price and we both agreed how delicious the broth was made. It is a no frills shop, so please don't expect it to be some elaborate Vietnamese restaurant. So when I had an appointment near by the other day I decided to Stop by on my way back to the office from my appointment. When I arrived no one was at the register. Someone was preparing food and told me they will be with me shortly. I could not find a menu anywhere so I waited and frantically tried to see if I can find a photo of their menu on Yelp. The price they have on their website for this dish is 10.99, on their menu it said 12.99 but when she charged me it was 13.99!!! So either they don't update their menu and website with the price changes or they just randomly charge what they want. My food was ready in 6 or 7 minutes. Once I arrived to the office and took the first bite I realized that the rice was at least 1 day old if not more. I couldn't even eat the rice. Had to throw it away and just ate the lettuce, pickled carrots and the lemon grass beef. The beef tasted good but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm torn on this review. The rolls were good but their not made in-house like the name might suggest. They were however fresh tasting and big, unlike their egg rolls. The peanut sauce is good but a bit to thick, you can't pour it over the rolls like you can most of the time. They lost me with their bathroom however, it's down a long dark hallway and it's pretty smelly. Very disappointed with this place! I am a big fan of spring rolls, and to find a place that is named for this entree, you would think it would be their specialty! Sure, they have a great variety, and other options as well, such as vietnamese sandwiches. However, it doesn't matter which spring roll option you order, they all taste about the same. No distinct seasoning used. Additionally, they are overpriced. When I ordered mine to go, I walked out the door, and then discovered I didn't have any peanut sauce or hot sauce to dip them in. I went back in, and was told 'twenty five cent each'. Usually, these are provided without having to ask, let alone pay extra for! Pho-sure some delicious soup. A little different from a normal pho shop and nothing fancy but tasty and cheap. $5 for a big bowl. Unlike most pho restaurants the bean sprouts, basil, etc. come in the soup, not on the side. They charged me an extra $1.50 to add carrots and broccoli to my tofu pho but it was still super cheap. I order this on Uber eats....it's so FAST! I have enjoyed the food. They use fried garlic for extra flavor and it's soooo delicious. The rice bowls and salads are great. I ordered a salmon rice bowl. The picture on their website clearly shows a cut of salmon with nice glazing on a bed of rice and lettuce. What I received was some kind of thick salmon/fish ground patty, sliced up and undercooked, with no glazing, topped with greens (cilantro?) and tons of chopped peanutes (??) on a bed of rice with a huge side of lettuce and grated carrots. I could not eat this patty, it was so disgusting. Totally NOT what I ordered. I've had many salmon rice bowls in my life; this was not a salmon rice bowl, but something else entirely. Awful. I had also ordered veggie tofu spring rolls and BBQ pork spring rolls for tomorrow night's dinner, so I ate those instead. The BBQ pork one was fine. The veggie tofu has a HUGE rectangular slab just slapped on the greens and wrapped in rice paper. Way too much tofu, with no taste at all. What a waste of money! I'm sorry to say of all the places ive tried pho and Bahn mi in Tacoma this was probably the worst. The bread was about the only thing that was good. we ordered food to go. I ordered 2 Bahn Mis, beef pho and and beef rice bowl. the Bahn Mis we're not filled much so there was a ton of bread for a little filling. need to use more filling or smaller rolls. second the rice was all dried out and stuck together like it was made the day before and left out. lastly the pho was supposed to be beef and they gave us tofu... try getting kids to eat tofu... I did at least get them to try it. but they put a lot of pepper in it along with the jalapeños which made it pretty spicy, and the broth itself had no flavor, I have gotten better broth from a box at the grocery store. So I'm sorry to say we most likely won't be back given all the choices in Tacoma. read more

Ordered Uber Eats. Needed something fast and wanted to take advantage of the August Friday free delivery promo...this was a solid choice...fast. Two orders of rolls and a beef pho. Only four stars for the pricing/value, quality is 3: Reviews say it is overpriced?? Not at all!! You pay more for rolls half this at the Safeway sushi counter (the ones with fresh sushi)-- and I'm saying that despite the delivery upcharge (everything is about a dollar more, but comes with a sauce). Plenty of food for your buck. Loosely rolled and a little short on herbs, but nice and fresh. I knew the pho would not be amazing, especially for being so affordable. Decent portion, actually, but a little odd they serve takeout with noodles already added (they fall apart). No big deal. Again too few herbs (need more basil) and the broth clearly is the same they use for chicken and tofu, tasty--but very light. My main complaint is the beef is sliced with the grain and a cheaper cut. Even in broth it dries out. They don't call it rare beef pho, didn't expect that, but dry chewy beef pho is not so great, I ate around the beef. I will try again, the lemongrass tofu sounds worth a go. read more

I really don't understand why this restaurant is called "Fresh Rolls" when they actually don't make FRESH spring rolls. Even when I ask for fresh ones, they point me to the ones that have been sitting out. I don't think they understand that spring rolls that are left out (even when refrigerated) hardens. The wrapper and vermicelli noodles hardens, the herbs and veggies spoils faster, and the meat (including shrimp) looses it taste. The meat becomes more chewy and honestly, its often overcooked here. This goes the same with their "noodle bowl" as well that they have sitting out all day. Also, the Thai tea is always bland. If they truly want to achieve the concept of "FRESH", this place should definitely revamp what they got going on. Their location and the restaurant interior is actually nice but customers should come in and watch their spring rolls or whatever dish be made in front of them (e.g., watching someone make your sandwich in front of you and asking what items you want in your sandwich). They need to stay true to what they are "representing". Hopefully this place comes to terms on what they should be serving to their customers. Best of luck! read more
