The interior was a bit dark and different than what I expected for a korean chinese restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and nice, but im sad the jja jang myun was a bit too sweet for me. I was expecting a more rustic homemade style of noodles. I also got a side dish to take home, but it was a bit too fishy for my taste. Its not a bad place, but definitely not somewhere I would go back to for the black bean noodles. May try the champong if I do go back.

Finally, good jjajangmyeon! Gimbap also solid. They were big pieces without being overwhelming. The lady who took care of us had packed up my forgotten leftovers with side dishes. The little things add up to make this a truly great place.

A sleepy spot inside a shopping center that provides nice clean eating at a reasonable price. Typically when I think of Asain food, I think of greasy plates and nice full stomachs after finishing. That is definitely not how I felt after leaving Fresh Heim. Instead, I was nice and satisfied but feeling great. I ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbap and was quite pleased with the overall size of the serving. I do wish the plate had just a bit more flavor to it, but nothing a little hot sauce can't solve. If you are in the area and looking for a clean eating spot, this is a great option to have in your back pocket.

NOURISHING I think that sums up Fresh Heim for me pretty well and why it may be my fave restaurant in the area. When I walk in, I know the ambience will be peaceful, the staff the kindest, and the food so thought and fresh. I usually get their protein with salad, featured in my photo. You get a big plate of flavorful abundance with all the nutrients- protein, fiber, healthy fat, and tons of vitamins. Their home sauces and dressings hit the spot for that spicy/sweet/savory (depending) umami flavor. I've tried all their proteins and don't have a favorite, it's all cooked to perfection. In this particular meal you'll get an option of the purple rice or sweet potato noodle, both tasty but I love the rice. They've also expanded their menu to include more class Korean dishes that I haven't yet been willing to give up my favorite dish to try, I imagine they'll be delicious too. So please go support this lovely local spot and nourish your body today : )

I had some time to come for a quick lunch and this place looked interesting. It's in a strip mall with lots of various shops. On a Saturday afternoon, it was a quiet time to visit. The service is quick and my waitress was attentive. When I first came in I hear this disembodied voice saying hello from the kitchen. LOL I couldn't see beyond the panels they've set up to hide the kitchen. Everything was super fresh and my poke was so colorful and tasty. They have various dressings and sauces to choose to add which has a nice selection. I imagine this place is busy during the week for the lunch crowd. I kept seeing big signs for soup but not on the menu. I usually get poke, so I tried that and was pleasantly surprised. A pleasant experience here and I'd come back for sure if I'm in the area again.

Stopped by for a good, clean meal. They have added more Korean dishes to the menu. I ate my usual plate from before. I will have to go back and try a Korean dish. They have changed the setting for the restaurant. The service remains the same people as before. I hope the changes do not change their staples. The prices have increased as expected.

The service is great! The food is incredibly fresh and you can tailor your plate with your sauce selections. The restaurant is quiet and nicely decorated. Super easy to park and a great place to have a healthy meal with lots of fresh veggies.

Great food and service. It's a cute little Korean restaurant with plants and flowers that make you feel very relaxed. The waitress Sarah is very friendly and the food comes out fairly fast. Everything is organic and they are great about working with allergies. The fruit and veggies always look so beautiful, fresh, shrimp spring rolls were delicious and their steak is so juicy and flavorful. This is one of my favorite restaurants here in Austin.

The steak I ordered was made to order perfect, as I like it mad rare and mooing, but had heavy seasoning on it. Not sure if that is signature to Perry's, as I'd personally rather let a good cut of steak speak for itself. It took away from the natural flavor, so I'd ask for no seasoning next time. Between the ambiance, service, and overall quality, I would definitely go back.

I will say though for some reason after we finished our Meatballs it took them quite a while to bring our dishes after that. Bone Marrow was divine and also paired well with the Italian Bread. Overall, I…read morethink Ember Kitchen is certainly worth checking out, but I think I might order a little differently next time. First off - parking is convenient in the Seaholm parking garage. My understanding is that Ember will validate, but it wasn't apparent to me how that works and honestly I walked out forgetting it and having to pay the bill for parking - oh well. I came with a party of six and we were celebrating a birthday. The team at Ember was very accommodating. We were seated downstairs in their "Speakeasy" room. It's a bit dark, but cool atmosphere. There are other dining options if you prefer a bit brighter setting. We were served complimentary birthday shots! These were quite tasty - enough so that I ordered another round of those citrus based shooters. Everyone at the table ordered a cocktail. Nearly all the cocktails on the menu are going to be served in a feminine looking glass and with a flower. The cocktail menu is pretty much for the ladies. On the bright side, they have a good selection of bourbons, tequila, etc available for straight pours at a decent price. Not extensive selection, but I think a good choice - enough that I think you will find something to fit your price point and taste profile. Our waitress was top notch. Very attentive and paid close attention to the orders from our gluten sensitive guest ensuring she ordered safely. We ordered a couple small plates as appetizers for the whole table. Everyone loved the crab cake. I thought it was tasty but wasn't expecting whole kernel corn in a crab cake so that threw me off a little. Market seafood crudo - this is a fish appetizer and as the name implies changes based on availability. The night we ate was a Hamachi or Salmon option. The salmon had a bit more of a spicy sauce so we chose that. It was a hit. We also chose a tuna tartare and it was fresh, good but didn't knock our socks off. When ready for the main course - our waitress had a number of off-menu specials to tell us about and honestly many were very interesting options. In fact, we chose to split a 50oz Tomahawk steak. This was a huge steak plated on a hot platter, already sliced off the bone with some fingerling potatoes. This was honestly the most expensive part of the meal (no surprise), but also the least impressive. Now visually it was a spectacle for sure, but the meat certainly had pieces that were tough with some large pieces of fat. Now I don't mind the fat, but when sliced there were a couple pieces that were nothing but fat, other pieces still that were mostly gristle. We all agreed the seasoning was just missing, it seemed to have no seasoning at all. It was also quite charred. One of the claims to fame here is their Josper oven and clearly it can put a good char on a steak. Some in our party liked it, but I thought it was a bit much. There can be fine line between a good steak crust and a burnt crust. I thought it was a bit much, and maybe why the seasoning seemed missing. On the bright side, it was cooked correctly to order. My only problem was, for the price, this was a complete miss. We also ordered scallops and the morida shrimp. Both were excellent. These were probably worth coming back for. The morida shrimp come served in a bowl with a rich sauce that was enjoyed by the whole party. The scallops come pan seared and were cooked perfectly - which is key to enjoying a good scallop. Be aware that the typical order of scallops though comes with only two scallops - rather light even for a single individual, because these were not on the "small plates" menu, it was supposed to be a full entree. Great experience overall, but we just felt not quite worth what we had to pay for it. Overall, it was just over $150 per person. What could have saved it - for that price, the steak HAS to be on point.
