Honestly, it's such a shame given how beautiful the restaurant is and how carefully crafted the food seems to be ... the customer service brings their rating to 3 stars. I visited Fresh Bites for the first time yesterday and ordered a Vietnamese cold brew. The cashier was struggling a bit but I remained patient. I paid with cash. She was short on change, so I let her know it was okay. She didn't acknowledge what I said (maybe she didn't hear) but gave me a couple cents short. I was okay with it though I found it strange that she didn't say anything about it or suggest I pay with card ... oh well. I brushed it off. The Vietnamese cold brew is good for people who like condensed milk. It was a bit sweet and not as strong as I'd like but it was still good. Today, I visited once again with my boyfriend. We ordered 2 iced oatmilk vanilla lattes. We clarified that they were both made with oatmilk several times. We also ordered the mochi waffle dogs (sausage ones). The cashier, who had red hair and glasses, seemed miserable or stressed -- which I originally empathized with until she was unpleasant with me. There were two older women ahead of me who were waiting on a table. Instead of communicating to these ladies to wait on the side or alerting me that she was ready to take her order, the cashier just stared ahead at me, looking annoyed. I took it upon myself to ask the ladies if they were okay with me ordering, as they were standing right in front of the cashier. They said yes and moved to the side. I ordered and waited patiently for my drinks and food. While waiting, I noticed the red-haired girl and someone who seemed like a manager or the owner did a lot of the work. The other workers looked confused and weren't very helpful. Unfortunately, though the red haired girl seemed efficient and hardworking, she wasn't nice/friendly to customers. Very monotoned and annoyed in her demeanor. The other workers weren't service forward either. The business is cute and fairly new, but so far from efficient. The worker who handed my boyfriend and I our drinks again confirmed "both with oatmilk, right?" to which we nodded our heads. My drink was sickly sweet but I wasn't gonna complain or dock the review stars because that could be an issue of my preference. My boyfriend agreed that his drink (which was supposed to be just like mine) was too sweet. I took a sip of his. Turns out his was made with oatmilk and the one I took was made with what seemed to be a sweetened/flavored SOY milk. At that point, I was already frustrated and didn't think it was worth telling the staff -- especially given it was pretty busy. I went home and doctored my drink. No big deal. The mochi waffle dogs were pretty good and at a fair price. One lady came up to us and said "your order is ready," but failed to indicate where we were to pick it up ... she just walked away. Overall, I don't know if I'll go back to this place as I've witnessed and personally experienced bad customer service. I think this place is still worth a shot as they are figuring things out and staff members are undergoing training. We were in the area, and hungry, and looking for a place to get a late lunch. Fresh Bites fit that bill. Pros: fish was fresh. We both got California dons, my friend got hers with ahi and mine with salmon. The spicy sauce was unique and unlike other spicy ahi/salmon I've had, so points to them for that. Drinks were very good and refreshing. They had various iced teas and lemonades and they all sounded great. Cons: menu here was pricy. I believe each poke bowl was $18. Not sure if it's inflation, but I guess I'm accustomed to $10-$15 for poke bowls so $18 just seemed a bit high. It also took quite some time for our poke bowls to come out. They have our drinks right away and I had pretty much finished by the time the poke bowl came out. I would rate Fresh Bites 3.5 stars for overall experience but decided to round up for my Yelp review. read more

Another place checked off my list & so pleased with my experience! Not the biggest inside, but decent amount of seating! Parking was fairly easy as there are a lot of stalls in the lot. I tried their ahi poke bowl. I love how they have a variety of sauces to choose from, as well as toppings :) I got spicy mayo, of course, because I just loveee spicy ahi ~ I also got ikura as a topping (not pictured because they forgot to add it - i got it later on). Their spicy ahi was soo good!! highly recommend! Good amount of sauce and great flavor! They have a regular & large size, but the regular was pretty filling. My mom got their mochi waffle & wow it was so delicious! The waffle was dense (in a good way) and chewy ~ anything with mochi in it is always a win ~ The ube ice cream on top was also perfect & creamy. Going to the UH Baseball game today (Sunday 5/1/22), they don't have a lot of healthy food so we decided to eat before the game. My husband found this place through Yelp. All I knew it was a Poke Bowl place. As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted with a friendly welcome and smile. He asked us if we eaten here before, showed us the menu and if we had any questions he can assist us. I'm try to eat healthier so I ordered the Salad with Smoke Salmon & Avocado and my husband ordered the Kakuni & Egg Don. When my order came it was Avocado & Smoke Salmon on toast and a small portion of green salad. I figured they got my order wrong but I love avocado & salon toast so started eating, it was so delicious. We just found another breakfast place to go too. We stopped by for brunch and it was awesome. This was our second visit. We had eaten here 9 months ago and enjoyed the fresh poke and Mochi waffle selections. Our second visit was even better. We ordered the Kakuni Don which is a warm donburi of slow-braised sweet shoyu pork belly with a soft poached egg, Kim Chee, and Takuwan on a bed of white rice. We also ordered the Bites Bomb which had 6 pieces of inari sushi; spicy mayo spicy ahi, spicy salmon, spicy shrimp, immitation crab salad, ocean salad, and ginger onion hamachi. There were two of us so we shared bites of everything, and everything was delicious. The restaurant is very small but not crowded today (Tuesday). The 2 ladies working today were friendly. I came here recently for Food-A-Go-Go Week. They're located in the strip mall right across of old stadium park. The parking lot isn't that big but we didn't have a problem finding a stall. The staff members are very nice. If you're dining in, just order at the counter and have a seat. I really enjoyed their Matcha & Fruits Mochi Waffle. Sooo good! It's wasn't too sweet and not too chewy -- it was just right. And the ube ice cream it comes with was amazing too. Their bites bombs spicy combo was very delicious too. I don't remember exactly, but I think it include spicy ahi, spicy salmon and spicy shrimp. Overall I would definitely come again. We left no leftovers so I left super full. Ordered delivery from Fresh Bites via Door Dash. Opened the bag, saw the Spicy Ahi Poke Bowl and Ginger Scallion Poke Bowl with everything kind of disheveled and scrunched in the corner and was at first like uhh... Then, I took a bite. DELICIOUS! I ordered from here on a whim because I really wanted the spicy ahi and ginger scallion ahi poke bowls from Off The Hook Poke Market in Manoa, but Off The Hook isn't on any delivery service and it's super deep in Manoa. Today is a potato and Netflix type of day, I'm treating myself to takeout and not driving. So anyway, took a chance on Fresh Bites and the reviews aren't kidding, this fish is FRESH. Dare I say juuuust as good as Ono Seafood and Off The Hook's fish quality? Their sauces are really quality too, it definitely satisfied that craving for great quality ahi with poke sauce made right! I chose this place based off the stars and pictures. The eggs Benedict looked yummy, and that was before I found out it was over Mochi waffles. I'm not a fan of Mochi waffles in general but this place makes them perfectly. The hollandaise sauce was light and fresh, thick cuts of smoked salmon, and perfectly poached eggs. The tots were bag tots but could have been fried crispier. I think they were deforested before being fried because they were soft. My aunty ordered the matcha waffle with fruit, and the ube macapuno ice cream on top of it made the dish superb. It didn't need the syrup. The best part on top of all this were the chirashi don I picked up for my dad and the poke bombs. Man, that fish is fresh!!! Fresh Bites had been on my radar for some time, but there wasn't anything that had REALLY caught my eye. Yes they had poke bowls, but with so many places to get poke bowls on this island and many experiences of being disappointed with it, I get weary about trying new places for a poke bowl. However, one hungry afternoon, my stomach finally gave in to trying them out because other options were a fail for different reasons. I went in with the thought of getting a poke bowl, but after previewing the menu I knew exactly what I wanted...a SMOKED SALMON EGGS BENEDICT! When a restaurant has smoked salmon eggs benedict, my cravings usually immediately gravitate towards that menu item. But let me tell you...Fresh Bites takes smoked salmon eggs benedict to a whole new level! Instead of the usual English muffin on the bottom, they use mochi waffles. In my head, I thought, "Huh...that's different...let's just give it a try." I didn't know how blown away I would be by it, though. I am forever more spoiled with eggs benedict. I had never really tried mochi waffles before (although often saw it) so I can't really say that I have anything to compare it to, but I was impressed by the way the mochi waffles were made. The texture was just right and didn't get soggy throughout the meal like how English muffins would eventually. What also usually makes me decide whether to get an eggs benedict menu item is what comes on its side. Fresh Bombs gives you crunchy tater tots and a salad. Even at the end of the meal the tater tots were still crunchy. I enjoyed it to the very end! I must say this menu item was also very reasonably priced compared to other salmon eggs benedicts I've seen at other places. We also tried the Bites Bombs Mix Combo - spicy ahi, spicy salmon, spicy shrimp, ginger onion hamachi, crab salad, ocean salad. Although many of the foodies on social media have been raving about this, I wasn't all that impressed. Don't expect spicy if you like spicy. It wasn't anything that sparked my tastebuds. We weren't given a bill at the end of our meal (even after waiting for some time for it), so after doing the 'should we...should we not' dance of deciding whether to go to the cashier to pay for it, we decided to just do so. To our surprise, an extra item was added onto our bill for FREE. Thanks to 'kanakattackks' on Instagram, anyone who purchased a large poke bowl or Bites Bomb combo until December 24 would receive a FREE bubble mochi waffle with matcha gelato! The post said you could also get a café beverage, but we weren't given an option. I had seen a couple get one on the house when we were eating our meal and had thought about getting one, but was full from my meal so we didn't order it. But hey...free is free so you make room for it! Lol...It was delicious, though! The bubble mochi waffle was just as amazing as my mochi waffles that came with the salmon eggs benedict. What I liked about it was that you could pull off each bubble and use it kind of like a spoon to eat the gelato. COVID note...we weren't asked for COVID vaccination cards or ID when we stated that we wanted to dine in. I found it odd at first, but thought maybe I missed the news and the requirement had been lifted or something. But they did ask the couple after us for theirs so I realized they just forgot to ask us for it. But other than that, they're good about cleaning up and wearing masks. Wow! The food, ambiance, service ALL 10/10. Extensive menu I only captured the front but the back has much more to offer. Went for breakfast so I skipped on poke and sashimi but have no doubt I will return to try for lunch/ dinner. The hours are great so you can try everything and anything. I had the pastrami eggs Benedict on mochi waffle with tasters, so filling I couldn't eat the second half and took it home happily. I asked what the most popular beverage was and ended up with the lilikoi calamansi lemonade SO AMAZING! Sweet and sour. I loved the music playing in the background. My partner got a macadamia nut latte with the pastrami sandwich on the waffle. Fresh Bites, Fresh Vibez, awesome food, drinks and service! We watched their segment on KHON this morning and bookmarked Fresh Bites as a destination to try. So glad we did! Once inside their small but bright and fresh eatery, we were immediately greeted by Gaven, one of the owners. We ordered the Poke Bombs and Gaven was nice enough to allow us to switch out the shrimp for Hamachi with a slight surcharge in price. OK with us, as Hamachi does cost more than shrimp. Having also seen their refreshing looking drinks on TV we asked Gaven what he recommended that was not too sweet. He immediately offered suggestions and also mentioned that it was their Happy Hour (10:40am) which is 50% off their awesome drinks, so we decided to order 2 different flavors that were recommended. The "Lilikoi Calamansi Tea" with no sugar and the "Butterfly Pea Honey Lemonade" which has a nice purple color from the flowers used to make the drink. Drinks were awesome and refreshing and best part is they accommodate your requests to be, No Sugar Added. Just wished the seeds were somehow removed when making it so it didn't end up in our mouth and swallowed, yikes! The Poke Bombs were the Bomb.Com too! Spicy Ahi, Yum! Spicy Salmon, Yes! Sometimes I crave more "classic" spicy ahi and this is the place to go. I wish I knew what the difference between a mini and regular but now that I know mini is definitely enough for me since I order some breakfast items also! I think they are dog friendly, I saw a party with 2 dogs dining in while I was waiting for my take out order. They always seem to have a deal if you follow them on IG. We were excited to try this spot after reading so many good reviews! We ordered takeout and decided to go with the Kahlua Eggs Benny and the Salmom Eggs Benny along with the waffle dogs. The kahlua was the best part of the entire meal. The tator tots we upgraded to tasted like they had been microwaved. Poor texture and lukewarm. The waffles themselves that came on the bottom of both eggs benny were thick and heavy and very sweet. Not the typical kine of mainland waffles. The salmon was very fishy and had very small portions. The waffle dogs were okay but definitely reminiscent of a mini 7-11 Lupchong. The order was not ready when we arrived even tho there was only 2 customers in the store. New poke place? Yessss. Def going to check this place out! It's located in between Lunar Tea and Cocina De Roja in this food plaza after Ross on S King St. There's a small parking lot, and parking can get relatively difficult to find when it's lunch and dinner hours. I got the triple poke don which consisted of ahi, salmon, and tako. It originally comes with shoyu as the sauce, but I asked if I could change it to spicy mayo and the worker said it was fine! YAY! The don was absolutely delicious! So much flavor with the spicy mayo (tho could be a little spicier) and sweetish with the unagi sauce. The poke was so good that I didn't realize the rice was sushi rice until my friend mentioned it LOL. My friend got the Fresh Bites Don. It looked like a mainland styled bowl which had Hawaiian shoyu ahi, edamame, seaweed salad, topiko, and radish. The shoyu poke wasn't too bad either, but I did prefer my bowl over his. We also got the brownie mochi waffle, and it came with two options: ice cream or fruit toppings. Not too sure if it was choose one or the other but the worker was nice enough to allow us to have both options! It also came with a syrup drizzle of either regular syrup, honey, chocolate, or caramel. We chose the chocolate drizzle. The mochi waffle was sooo good! I was kind of worried it would be super sweet but surprisingly, it was not! Great consistency and also blend of the mochi and chocolate. Overall, a delicious place to check out! The food is always delicious here. Poke is fresh. Brunch and hot donburi plates are amazing as well. The coffee drinks are hit or miss depending on the person who made it so the coffee taste isn't consistent. Their iced tea is really good though. I highly recommend checking out this place. The reason I gave this place a 4 or 4.5/5 is that some employees seem to not speak English very well so I sometimes get my order wrong. I was feeling more simple so I just opted for green onions and furikake. The mochi waffle that my sandwich was served on was so chewy and fluffy, very delicious. The green tea drink was so refreshing and a great price for what you get. Fresh Bites is a tiny little place located at Old Stadium Square. The place is cozy and has a really nice layout- if you can, you should totally dine in! The food itself was good, they give good portions & honestly everything on their menu sounded so good it was hard to choose just one! I decided to try their Mochi Waffle California Avocado Eggs Benedict with tater tots. The egg was a little more on the hard boiled side which I didn't really appreciate, but it still tasted good. The mochi waffle part of the dish was AMAZING! It was the highlight of my meal. The workers themselves were very nice. They are all up to date on the COVID guidelines. The only thing that bothered me was that it was hard to hear them through their mask. Also once we were done and ready to pay, it took them 4-5 minutes to see we were ready. Discovered this breakfast spot from social media... I'm clearly all about trusting all things TikTok! My friend and I decided to start our day here. No line or wait at opening, 9am. I won't lie, I came here for their homemade Belgian mochi waffles. Yes, I have a sweet tooth to say the least! I ordered the matcha waffle. Really wanted the ube ice cream to top it off but they were all out so settled for the vanilla ice cream. I couldn't quite make out the mochiko center to be honest, but it was good nonetheless. Very filling and couldn't finish it all. Also decided to try their avocado veggie toast. It was delish. It came with some sort of sauce on the side that I basically soaked my toast with! Lol. Came here when it was super busy and people ordering after me got their orders... I don't think it should work that way esp if we're ordering the same thing. It took over 30 mins to get my order. It's super frustrating waiting and watching ppl order after you get their order. Thought it'd be a lot quicker because I've been here before and they never took this long. I'm really disappointed with their service. Even another guy before me was complaining about the same thing and Idk if they need to hire more staff but something should be done... probably won't come back for a cool while and remember that you need to allocate a lot of time if wanting to eat here read more

Wonderful lunch and dessert here . We all had a mochi Benedict . I had the Kalua pork which was delicious. We also had the beef sukiyaki Benedict and Portuguese sausage Benedict . All were amazing ! For dessert we had the brownie waffle with Ube ice cream . Service was a little slow but they were so nice. The same song plays over and over but overall a great experience. read more

The freshest and best tasting sashimi salad in Honolulu. If you like cooked fish salad, Pioneer Saloon is good. But if you have a craving for raw fresh fish, this place has the best. The sashimi at most of the other nearby places (Nijiya, Genki) don't come close to the quality found here. read more

Had brunch here ! And the service was so attentive The sukiyaki beef is flavorful and we had it in udon and in donburi style both were satisfying. Then had the matcha flavored mochi bubble waffle with Ube ice cream flavor explosion! Oh and they have tader tots, we didn't get a dish that had it included them so had to order a side just cuz lol.
