First time here and on Father's Day. 4:00 reservations to beat the crowds. The mozzarella triangles came out cold in center. Likely because restaurant just opened and perhaps the oil wasn't hot enough yet. They brought a new one and it was delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The baked pasta with pink sauce was cheesy and delicious. I highly recommend. It's a huge portion so I had to tap out and bring the rest home. My son opted for the baked haddock and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the chicken parm but said it was dry and tough. He is a tough crowd. I'm Italian and make an amazing chicken parm so always big shoes to fill. Our server was so kind and offered something else so he opted for the fish with a side of truffle fries. The truffle fries are basically steak fries with a side of truffle sauce. They're not hand cut. Likely frozen, just mediocre. You can skip these. Overall I'd say this is a pretty great restaurant

Came in for the Sunday Rst Chicken dinner and was blown away! 1/2 a perfectly roasted chicken, Pasta, fries, a fresh homemade salad, and bread/dip for $20! Of course I added a cocktail from Sarah at the bar - service was on point and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious! See you weekly!

We were greeted by our excellent server Bob. So friendly I recommend asking for him. Busy Saturday night and he had many tables. I watched as he handled each table with his upmost attention and how warm and welcoming to his guests. Bob came and greeted us and explained it's a busy night but he'll bring us Italian bread. Bob came right back with two delicious baskets of warm Italian bread with a tasty garlic spread. Then our drinks arrived. Then our salads and more hot Italian bread. Our delicious tasty dinners arrived with more drinks and more soda refills. Lemon was brought to table for our water. Dinners were all delicious! Two free tiramisu were brought to our table for our birthday quests. Bob kept checking in on us and asking us if we need anything. The staff took pictures of our table. Drinks were full to the top ! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful clean place! Bathroom was immaculate![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is cozy and warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They even have a large place to sit outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually visit all of their locations! I recommend this restaurant highly!

Been here on Several occasions and haven't had a bad meal yet. Prices are moderate, service is good and an extensive selection of food to eat, give it a try, I think you'll like it!

Eggplant Parm - my wife almost stabbed me when I went in for a bite! Enough for two dinners!

We had a great meal with cousins Michael and Cheryl at Fresco Smithfield. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a beautiful night so we sat outside. Weather was just perfect[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Our waitress Lori was top notch - personable, professional and completely knowledgeable about the menu. We opted for their Monday night $49 dinner for two with a bottle of wine. There were multiple wine offerings, two salads, and a wide array of entrees to meet just about anyone's tastes. Being from RI but living in Florida we had a hankering for traditional Italian. We both had a Caesar salad along with Chicken and Eggplant Parmesan's. Wow. The salads were properly dressed with large shavings of cheese and a handmade crouton. The entrees were delicious. The sauce was spot on. The eggplant and chicken cooked perfectly with copious amounts of melted cheese. These entrees were enormous, even though you expect smaller portions on a special menu. Nope - huge! And my, my, my, the bread service was equally spectacular! Served with a spicy cheesy oil, seriously wow. I was a glutton when it came to that bread! Three hours later, we had a perfect night with our family! Come - eat - enjoy!!!

It's the old Blackies! I want this place to succeed because I had my first date with my husband at Blackies. Looks totally different- very chic Italian restaurant now. They take reservations and plenty of parking. It was Mother's Day. I requested Italian. My husband delivered. We were seated very quickly (we took advantage of making a reservation) but then I think we were forgotten about. We sat at a booth that was under the stairs, all by ourselves. It took between 10-15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and it wasn't our waitress it was another offering to get us menus. At the 15 minute mark bread was slid across the table. 17 minute mark we received water. Then a waitress apologized (thank you) and we just gave her the whole order because we were sure when we would see her again and I am glad we did because we didn't see her again until our food was delivered. Now lets talk about being under the stairs- you can hear anyone going up and down and one waited is EXTREMELY heavy footed. Even as he walked by our table it was like an elephant (not a big guy at all) was walking by. Next time- I don't want to be Harry Potter. The bread was fresh and the dipping sauce was heavy handed with cheese- I like it. I had chicken parm. Large size and it was good. It was even better as leftovers! My kids had the spaghetti and meatball (it was one HUGE meatball) and ravioli in vodka sauce. The vodka sauce was delicious! My husband kept raving over it (as he kept dipping into our daughters!) Overall the food is worth the visit but the experience fell flat. I can share the young guys delivering bread and water were on point!

My Birthday Cake :) lemon blueberry cake with mascarpone & vanilla ice cream nice n light with fresh strawberries on top ! Excellent

We went here last night on our dinner date. We were served with warm bread and oil and Parmesan cheese and that was really really good! My friend and I both got sangria, I got red and she got white and they were both watered down not good at all we should have sent it back. The appetizers looked really good especially the prosciutto with Burrata the presentation was definitely A+ but it lacked taste it was just blah. The entrées where not bad but not good enough to return. The place seemed to be busy and it is a nice restaurant the staff was also good.

Not sure if it was because it was busy but she was a bit short with customers and there was a clear difference between her and the other staff. I've seen on social media that people complained about the new location having mainly street parking - we both found parking easily on the street - quit yer b*tchin' people lol. Besides I believe they have a lot behind the restaurant that we didn't have to use but it's there if needed. We were the only ones there when we first walked in but more patrons came in as the night went on. Made our way to the bar and orders were flowing - one warning if you're sitting at the bar, it is an open kitchen so there will be alot of aromas flowing through and may get on your clothes but really it'll just remind you of how good the food was. Also, the barstools are not the most comfy - metal stools with no backing so after 2.5 hours, we were feeling a bit achy. We ordered way more than we should've but everything just looked so good! We got the croquettes (our absolute fave), the cauliflower, the pizza du jour (I think it had spinach, pepperoni, ricotta and garlic) and for entrees we got the fish tacos and the Orecchiette. Not one complaint - everything was divine. Croquettes were melty, smoky little nuggets of heaven and our favorites bites of the night. The pizza had a great balance of flavors and the crust was thin and crispy. We were so full but had a few bites of the fish tacos and pasta - the fish was cooked to perfection and the aioli it came with topped it perfectly. Pasta was different - had a scallion cream sauce that was a nice change up from your typical Alfredo. Don't sleep on this place - the street is busy being on a main road but so well worth the visit, I didn't catch our bartender's name but he and a few other servers were super personable and friendly - gave us just enough time in between meals and personal space to not hover. Absolutely will return!

The atmosphere is very relaxing, with a comfortable yet slightly upscale atmosphere. The food and drinks are both amazing. Drinks are well prepared and the menu rotates with the seasons. Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Bistro is upscale in the best way. Dark wood, brick floors, pendant lights over a small bar. The lights are dim but the room is inviting and intimate. When we arrived, it wasn't empty, wasn't slammed. Nothing felt rushed. Everything moved at the right pace, giving us time to talk, time to savor, time to just enjoy being there. Even after we paid, no one hurried us out. The room was filling up around us, but we never felt it. Fresh plates for every course. Water refilled when it emptied (not before we noticed, exactly when). Every time we said thank you, our server said "of course" like she truly meant it. The focaccia came out warm. Tear it open and you see irregular holes. That takes hours, not shortcuts. They bring whipped garlic butter because it spreads easier, but the bread's good enough alone. Four meatballs arrived, tender enough they fell apart as I tried to work them through the sauce. Took surgeon hands. Pool the red sauce on your plate or spoon some over the top of each bite. Without it, they're bland. With it, they're quite good. The pepperoni pizza came out right. Char on the crust, pepperoni curling into little grease cups, cheese stretching six inches on those first bites. The sauce is light. The crust ends taste a little like char and semolina. I'm a sauce guy. Always have been. This pizza wasn't what I look for, but the people around us all looked happy to be there and with their food. Giuseppe's making the pizza his customers want. Fruit crumble for dessert. Fresh blueberries and peaches, vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed the peach side more than the blueberries, which was unexpected. The peaches were a little less sweet. The blueberries? Really sweet. Fresh and enjoyable. Giuseppe's fills up for a reason. The service is the best I've experienced in months. People were taking their time, talking, enjoying everything that was in front of them. They seemed like they knew they were somewhere special. They got it right.

I like their tequila and gin drinks - they usually ask if you want a single or double shot for your cocktail. Their slider selection is good too- each other comes with two and you can add an additional one for an up charge. I like their " big mac " sliders with a side of waffle fries, but their shoe string fries are also tasty. They also have shareable " fish bowl " cocktails for 2 - 5 people, and I like the " Shark Attack " - you get a rubber ducky and candy on the bottom! They also have desserts - churros, smores, & fried oreos. So delicious and good portion. The outdoor patio is nice to sit at for large parties, but there's a good amount of seating inside as well. The staff are also really nice, and service is quick and attentive - even on a busy night. Wish there were more spots like this in RI!!
