    Chicken Rossini ... so good!

This is a fantastic side bar to the actual restaurant. I love that I can order ahead and grab and go with some really high end meals. No fuss! The flavors are just as carefully concocted as the restaurant. The options are plentiful. The staff a little more aloof. Overall, highest recommendation for anyone wanting a great quality meal to go! Bon Appetite!

Fabulous entrees for dining in or you can choose from their wide selection of food that is offered for takeout. I had the parpadelle made with truffle oil, mushrooms, asparagus, and prosciutto and it was delicious. My friend had the tortellini soup and the veal Marsala and she really enjoyed it. We finished with mini cannolis made with amaretto cream, very tasty. Their bread was a type of rustic sourdough and it was superb! I was told it's provided by a bakery in Brockton called Montilios. you can purchase the bread from the restaurant which is what I did. I really enjoyed my meal and so will you!

Kind of bummed. This restaurant group is always consistent and the food is always fresh and very good. Second time at this location and both times the food was gross. First time I ordered a lemon torte dessert that did not taste home made and had a stale chalky taste to it. Today I got the Italiano sandwich, about $12 without tip, and there was nothing to it. There's a small portion of meat, couldn't taste oil & vinegar, and it was bland. It's disappointing for how expensive everything is right now, that they knock it out of the park for complex dishes but not for the basics. I would've rather spend the extra $6+ and gotten a pasta dinner dish that was tasty and filling. Would recommend the actual restaurant next door or the pizza place over this location. They made a delicious fresh calzone and about the same price.

Excellent. If you are looking for a cute, comfortable cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, variety and great food this is the place. They're known as Trattoria Express or TR Ginger. Its basically a more casual cafe version of Trattoria Romana. I had a classic cheeseburger with steak fries, and an Italian orange soda. The cheeseburger was so tender, juicy and flavorful. The fries were great too. They also have enthusiastic and professional staff, Italian type music, and food to desserts to smoothies. Waited service starts after 3pm. I'll be back and would definitely recommend checking this place out.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this restaurant yet! It's my favorite Italian restaurant, always delicious and consistent. They start you off with the most amazing bread, it's hard to not eat the whole loaf. Our staple is the chicken parmigiana with rigatoni, great portion and great flavor. Last night we also tried the chicken sorrentino, had a nice marinara/Demi glaze.

My friend knows much more about wine than I do, so he was the decision maker for our wine choices and we ordered a 1/2 bottle of red which we both found to be very delicious. Of course, we had to try some food too and the small bites menu was perfect with something to satisfy nearly every taste. We opted for the meat charcuterie, and it was beautifully presented with enough for the two of us to share. There is also a cheese charcuterie on the menu, but unfortunately there is not an option for a combined meat and cheese plate. We sat, sipped, and tasted for a while and never felt rushed. The atmosphere was so comfortable and we'll definitely consider going back here again.

I can browse a liquor store & pick out a bottle that exactly fits my preferences, my mood, & my budget. I can bring it home & uncork the wine, checking the cork for freshness. I can pull out my special glassware & pour myself a glass of wine & enjoy it on my own couch. So why go out to a wine bar, if not for the wine? For me, it's for the ambience & the experience. Both of those things at Providence Wine Bar were lacking. The lights were too bright (overhead & fluorescent) & the music was too loud (& just bad). The employees seemed both bored & nervous, with not much to do to occupy themselves. I was one of the only people in the bar, so I felt like I was under scrutiny - I'm certain this wasn't intentional but it was unfortunately how it came across. I brought a book but couldn't focus because of the lights & the music. I even caught myself with my fingers in my ears, trying to muffle the sounds of 2010s hyper pop. I have nothing against 2010s hyperpop, it's just that there's a time & place for everything, & maybe that isn't at a wine bar at 8 PM on a Wednesday. I just wanted to be done with my glass of wine so that I could leave. All of that being said, I wish them the best. It seems like they need a good manager's touch.

I lingered with a glass, reading my book while soulful music softly played, quiet conversations among the few other patrons drifted in and out of my consciousness, and the plaintive cries of seagulls outside were occasionally audible. Whimsical posters dressed up the plain but cozy room (a rabbit in a pink bathrobe holding a bottle of champagne and divers leaping into a wine glass). I could have spent all afternoon there, reading and sipping. But I had places to be. If I stayed longer I might have tried some of the food. It's more in the line of light snacks than an actual meal, mostly cold, but they were more interesting than the standard charcuterie plate offered by similar venues, and I liked that they listed the country or state of origin of everything. Menu listed five, all of which I've never heard of, from Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Portugal, sure to interest the connoisseur. The menu that day included 25 wines by the glass. Their high-tech "Coravin System" keeps the open bottles fresh, and my Croation Matsuško was flawless in that respect. Port lovers might try the "100 Years Of Port Flight": the 10, 20, 30, and 40 year vintages of Van Zellers. I'll be doing that next time, with the cheesecake.

Vannaluck talked us through the history & characteristics of cognac. We were given 3 small pours of different cognacs to taste as well as a serendipitous, bonus mini pour at the end. When making our reservation, we noticed there was an option to mark that we were celebrating an anniversary, and I have to say, they truly acknowledged it in such a thoughtful way. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who immediately wished us a happy anniversary. We were then escorted upstairs to our table, where we were treated to a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The restaurant itself is elegant without feeling stuffy, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. Our server, Cailin, greeted us promptly, wished us a happy anniversary, and offered us a complimentary champagne toast. While neither of us are big champagne drinkers, it was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made the evening feel even more special. It's little touches like that that turn a nice dinner into a memorable celebration. Moreover, it was just nice to hear the champagne flutes clink. (Plus the champagne was great!) To drink, we both ordered the dragon fruit margaritas. They were not only delicious but absolutely beautiful, with their vibrant pink color and striking black salt rim. To start, we shared the Caesar salad (without anchovies) and the stuffed artichoke. The Caesar dressing tasted homemade and was packed with flavor. The stuffed artichoke was easily the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked and served with a divine green goddess sauce that I could have eaten by the spoonful. My husband also ordered the clam chowder, which he absolutely loved. I don't eat seafood, but I tried a spoonful of the broth and even I thought it was excellent. For our entrées, my husband ordered the pork, and I chose the New York strip steak. Both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I paired my steak with both the horseradish crema and Bowen's steak sauce, while my husband enjoyed the chimichurri with his pork. Every sauce complemented the dishes beautifully. For sides, we ordered the seasonal vegetables, which were perfectly cooked green beans, the four-cheese potatoes au gratin with crumbled bacon, and the truffle mac and cheese. The potatoes were rich and comforting, the green beans provided the perfect balance, and the truffle mac and cheese was absolutely incredible, not to mention a very generous portion. Before our entrées arrived, our table was presented with beautiful steak knives, another thoughtful detail that elevated the experience and made cutting into the steak effortless. By the end of dinner we were completely full, so instead of dessert we each ordered an espresso martini. They were perfectly balanced and the ideal way to end such an incredible meal. From the stunning harbor views and elegant atmosphere to the impeccable service and outstanding food, every part of our evening felt special. We left feeling celebrated, and we're so happy we chose 22 Bowen's for our first wedding anniversary. If you're looking for a restaurant in Newport to celebrate a milestone or simply enjoy an exceptional meal, this is one I wholeheartedly recommend.
