Title: Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations As a Google Local Guide and frequent traveler, I always enjoy exploring regional grocery stores and sharing my experiences with the community. On a recent trip from Texas to Seattle, I researched the best grocery options in the area and Fred Meyer consistently came up as a top recommendation. With that in mind, I made a special effort to visit the Fred Meyer location on June 6, 2025, around 5:00 PM, eager to explore their offerings and write a helpful review for others. Upon arrival, I was initially impressed by the store's size and variety, particularly in the produce section, which appeared fresh and well-stocked. As part of my normal reviewing process, I began taking a few discreet photos of the produce displays to accompany my review. However, my experience quickly took a turn for the worse. While photographing, a white male security guard approached me and instructed me--rather curtly--to stop taking photos, stating that photography is not allowed inside the store. His tone was unnecessarily stern, and his facial expression felt dismissive and unwelcoming. The encounter was both surprising and disheartening, especially since my intent was simply to provide a fair and informative review for other customers. After leaving the store, I reviewed Fred Meyer's terms and general policy and found no clear indication that personal photography for review purposes is prohibited--especially when done respectfully and without disrupting other customers or staff. As a consumer and content contributor, I felt disappointed and, frankly, disrespected by the interaction. I can't help but wonder if my appearance played a role in the guard's behavior. As an Asian visitor, it's hard not to question whether bias--conscious or not--may have influenced the way I was treated. I sincerely hope that was not the case, but the experience left me feeling unwelcome and excluded. Regrettably, the interaction ruined what could have been a pleasant shopping visit. I chose not to make any purchases and instead left the store feeling frustrated and deeply disappointed. I had genuinely looked forward to highlighting Fred Meyer's variety and value to others traveling through the Seattle area, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this location based on how I was treated. While I acknowledge that Fred Meyer likely has quality products and a loyal customer base, customer experience is just as important as product selection. I hope store management takes feedback like this seriously and reviews staff conduct to ensure that all guests--regardless of background--feel respected and welcome. For that reason, I am leaving a one-star review. I believe in honest feedback and hope this helps improve the experience for future customers.

This Fred Meyer is my local one and all things considered its OK. It's my preferred supermarket because even with an abundance of grocers, this one is the cheapest overall even though the others are closer. It's large and fairly well stocked. Spanning furniture, appliances, home needs, electronics all the way to groceries. The customer service counter needs work. The staff are all nice that I've encountered but my first time there there was only 1 person working it and there was like a line 10+ people. The aisles are a bit cramped here particularly in the grocery/dairy areas which is not good. I constantly am worried I'm blocking somebody and have to be real careful when turning in and out of aisles. The lot is large and ok with Slanted parking so that the drive aisles aren't traffic heavy or at least is usually the case. So Fred Meyer gets a pass. Wish there were more of them nearby for comparison but this Fred is OK

Maybe if they open more checkouts, they wouldn't have to deal with so much loss prevention and spend time restacking shelves because people have abandoned their carts.

    Parsley, out of stock?!

There were none in the greeting cards aisle and none near the souvenir t-shirts. I asked the Security Guard and he suggested Aisle 4... Nope. That's the beverage aisle. I thought that I should check Aisle 1 since I looked in every other aisle... Of course the post cards were there! The last place was the winner! I grabbed a bunch and waited in line to pay. The customers ahead of me didn't have their wallets out and one woman had questions about a gift card. I give these store clerks credit... challenging customers test your patience... LOL! I just wanted to hurry outta there because I wasn't sure if I was in a free parking space on the street or not!

Maybe it was the appointment I made with the pharmacist for a vaccine and when I showed up the pharmacy was boarded up and there were 14 people waiting and the pharmacy assistant screamed "there's no pharmacist! Apparently one will eventually show up." Spoiler: they didn't. Or maybe it was today when I tried again to get a vaccine. I made an appointment, showed up early, checked in and there was so much spit on the plexiglass between me and the pharmacist that she was literally blurry. At one point an assistant made eye contact with me, made a gun out of her fingers and pretended to shoot her self in the head. So yeah - this place is a stain on the Walgreens brand and our downtown. I'd rather drive to another pharmacy than walk to this one on my neighborhood.

As someone who works in healthcare with cancer patients who need a reliable pharmacy with decent human beings working at it I would NEVER recommend to one of my patients that they put their life in the hands of these lazy, rude, couldn't care less about patient people at CVS Pharmacy inside of Target on 2nd Ave in Seattle. I called the store to explain that 34 photos were missing. The associate I spoke with, Princess, stated that she could not reprint the photos and said she would ask someone the next day if they had been left out by mistake. This response was confusing, especially since the store offers same-day photo printing. She repeatedly insisted there was no one available to reprint them and said she "wasn't going to lose her job" by doing so. She then abruptly ended the conversation and hung up on me. After being hung up on, I went to the store in person. A different cashier again claimed there was no one working in the photo department, despite there being customers actively waiting in line for photo services. After waiting a few minutes, I spoke with another associate, explained the situation, and she was able to reprint the photos without any issue. While I was speaking with this associate, Princess repeatedly inserted herself into the conversation and began arguing with me unprovoked. The entire interaction was extremely unprofessional and frustrating. This was the worst customer service experience I've had at a Walgreens. Due to the lack of professionalism and poor handling of a simple issue, I will not be returning to this location.

I went in to make an online return and the woman at the front register flat-out refused to help. She was arrogant, dismissive, and clearly unwilling to assist--wouldn't even tell me how to process the return. Thankfully, someone from the photo section stepped in and helped (she was great), but the cashier's attitude was unbelievable. The store itself is poorly maintained with mostly empty shelves. After my return, I tried to buy oat milk with a gift card and was rudely told "gift cards aren't accepted for dairy products." I couldn't find anything on Walgreens' site stating this policy, so it felt like she was just throwing up roadblocks. Her tone made it obvious she was purposefully rude. While in line, I saw her being just as hostile toward certain other customers--and it came across as targeted, even racial, based on what I observed. She should not be at the register or in any position where she can make customers feel bad. This was hands-down one of the most horrendous customer service experiences I've had in years. Unless you need the pharmacy, avoid this store entirely. I left regretting I didn't just walk out without the oat milk OLD REVIEW This place is close to my home in Capitol Hill. This is where I pick up my prescriptions. Always had a smooth experience here. Only thing is that, there is designated parking at this location. You will have to find street parking.

I was trying for weeks to obtain some critical (and potentially life saving) medication for my daughter who was going abroad. They cared about the outcome & sat on the phone with either myself or my daughter's doctor's clinic for literally hours. They also found a discount code to use that helped us financially afford the medicine when our insurance wouldn't pay for my daughter to have enough of it to be able to go abroad.
