Three years ago, while visiting Salzberg, Austria, I came across an "Aunts & Uncles" brand messenger bag. I loved the bag, but my travel situation made it difficult for me to carry the bag home. I figured I would simply contact the store via email when I got home and purchase the bag that way. It wasn't so easy. While they agreed that the bag was awesome (and their best seller), they couldn't sell it to me in the U.S. I contacted the manufacturer directly in Germany and got the same story. They suggested I wait till they got a distributor in the U.S. For three years I waited, every so often trying to buy the darn bag. Then, one day I was searching the Internet and I stumbled across re-souL in Seattle selling Aunts & Uncles products. But, they didn't sell the bag I wanted. I wrote to them in the hope they just maybe they could help me. Legh wrote back and offered to help me secure this bag through a special order. Finally, I had a way to get my bag. So I called him immediately and placed an order. It arrived today - here in San Diego!!!! I am so thrilled with it. And I am so happy with the terrific service that re-souL provided me. I've never been to their store - it's far away. But they went out of their way to help me in my quest to get the bag I had wanted for so long. I couldn't be happier! I think this store is one of the most overrated (and outrageously expensive - $550 for ankle boots?? Come on... Most of us are not Kim Kardashian - or work for Amazon/ Google/Facebook with stock options for that matter - FGS). Once again, this is just my humble opinion - but their shoes are not that 'great' that it justifies me spending that kind of $$ - ever - unless they are Gucci or something (which I would never buy).... The selection is just OK. Salespeople are friendly, but not enough to convince me to buy anything there (only Jesus/God could do that - LOL). read more

So I have bought shoes here and then I bought an amazing ring. This place is my second stop after A Mano, but not a distant second. Great Chie Mihara selection at times and I bought a pair of sandals that have a faux wood look (trust me they are rad squared)! But my real passion at this store is the jewelry. Last time I was in I came darn close to buying a Michelle Lenae cocktail ring. Everyone who loves Jamie Joseph absolutely must check out this Seattle up and comer. Her prices are $100-$200 less and she has some crazy geode pieces. I am planning on gifting myself one for Christmas...Ye-Haw! Lastly, they do have killer sales so check it out! read more

If I buy my comfort shoes from Market Street shoes, I come to ONLY re-soul shoes for my sexy, sturdy, I-mean-business shoes! I hesitate to say my favorite line because I think they only get one size of each--but suffice it to say they are Italian built, clunky-sleek heeled and make me feel like stealthy Amazonian woman (even if I'm only 5'4 in real life ;) Beware: this is one of those insanely shoe-addictive shops. This store is fabulous. Last visit I bought a pair of incredible grey-green boots with buttons up the sides and haven't worn them once without another woman coveting them. I can' t go back for another few months because they have such an excellent selection that it's truly dangerous. A welcoming, fun shop full of good design. Every time I pick up the German leather satchel I bought there a few weeks ago, I smile -- not just because it was a killer sale (check their website! they have killer sales!) but because visiting the store to buy it was delightful. It's incredibly rare that my husband tries to drag me to a shoe/jewelry/etc boutique (ok, this is the first time - he'd seen the perfect belt there), so off we went. The satchel was a happy accident, amazing piece modeled on an Italian postal bag. When I asked, almost as a reflex, about a leather protecting spray, the woman who owns the shop said they don't sell such things - they prefer to let leather age. She encouraged me to take the bag out in the rain to start the process, which I did immediately - it's Seattle, after all. I've also purchased an Alessi watch from them and they cooed over it, helped me size it, showed me other colors, commented on why the design worked with my style, etc. I smile when I put it on as well - the watch is playful and classic as well. (Or, as one of us put it, "so preppy yet so Wednesday Adams." Which, um, welcome to my life.) What they've got so right is a carryall and a watch are incredibly personal pieces. You wear them (almost) every waking hour of every day. You need to choose them well and feel like you've chosen them well. The same is true of shoes, too, you're in them a lot. While mostly known for their gorgeous and very trendy shoes, this place has a lot more to offer. Especially for those who don't mind paying for quality. The smell of shoe leather hits you as you walk in the door, and really, that can be practically an aphrodisiac to a shoe lover. In fact, I had to hold myself back from buying a pair of Faryl Robin flats that I still haven't convinced myself I don't really need. Furnishings, jewelry, sushi dishes I'm going back to get, and really cool vinyl wall decor stick ons that I may also go back for. Those and also the glass block vases in vibrant colors I haven't seen elsewhere. There's a lot going on here and if you've wisely left your credit card at home and just want to browse, this is a great place to do it. Unique, fun, trendy, beautiful and of course, SHOES! read more

Even though they hardly ever have shoes that I personally like, this is still a great little shop with lots of other cool "lifestyle accessories" (like wallets and laptop bags) besides shoes. However, I was once persuaded to spend $180 on a killer pair of MOMA's here - hey, they were originally $350, it was the only pair left, and it was IN MY SIZE. How can you say no to that? read more

This might be the best shoe store in Seattle. The selection for both men and women is edited carefully, is unique without being "strange". They also sell great ceramics by Jonathan Adler, Alessi home goods and great handbags for women. I've been shopping here for as long as they've been open (2002?). SHOES. I love their shoe selection - some unique, some familiar, some crazy expensive, some moderately priced. I confess I've spent alot of money here... but I'm willing to spend money on things that I'll wear for several seasons/years. PEOPLE. Great owners. Great staff. We're on a first name basis at this point in our "relationship". :) MY ADVICE. Stop by often and check out the new stock. So disappointed. I have shopped here for over five years. My husband bought me a pair of flats made under their own brand and unfortunately after only one month the sole fell off on the heel. If only this place sold coffee then it would be the most amazing died and went to paradise place, as it is it's impossibly wonderful! I just bought two pairs of Italian boots which is, given my impossible size (10 1/2) and deep and abiding love for lace-up boots, a minor miracle! At last I can end my internet shoe addiction, which only means trips to the post office. The staff is attentive and very, very nice - which given how cool (there's Jonathan Adler stuff here, people!) this place is, I would have expected haughty or at least disinterested. But nope, they're great! By all means, go forth and buy! But save me the size 41's! read more

Beautiful shoes, lousy service. I purchased a pair of shoes that through a default in the shoe they were ruined after one wear. Several months, calls and in store visits later all I have to show for it is frustration and ruined shoes. won't be shopping here again. read more
