I found this shop after having brunch with friends at Sabine Café. They had parked around the corner just past the shop and since I was visiting town, we decided to pop in. I'm glad we did because the store was a great place to pick up gifts. It's merchandised really well, too. So it feels like there's a theme in each section as you go around. Lots to look at and it's kinda hard to choose what to grab since everything is well designed. I'd say there's a little something for everyone here. Lots of candles, skincare, trinkets, home goods, stationery, art prints, and even chocolate. There's a whole wall of cards for all occasions, too. I ended up grabbing a birthday card for a friend who's got one coming up soon. There's even a small section of outdoor goods. The vintage flashlights were really cool, but I went practical and got a pair of socks for the hike we were taking the next day. I highly recommend stopping in here if you're in the area or happen to be waiting on a restaurant reso. They're open til 6 p.m. most days!

I love these candles & have ordered a couple times from their site. Delivery was quick and candles individually wrapped. My favorites are Tulip Field, Island Getaway, and Biscayne. They last a long time and burn them daily in my home office. Highly Recommend! Enjoy ~

Good & Well is a nice little shop right off Ballard Ave. That sells among other things, one of my simple pleasures - scented candles. Oh yeah there are bunch here and new ones are added depending on time of year. Their candles are made from U. S grown soybean wax and ethically source their materials. All that sounds good but but I love how powerful their candles are. Seriously after I blow out a candle the aroma stays for awhile which is great. There are other gifts in here such as t-shirts, reusable bags, backpacks and more. The shop is off Ballard Ave and as busy and popular as it is, it's easy to overlook. If you're in Ballard, amongst all the other shopping and browsing you can do, check out Good & Well, they may have the gift you're looking for yourself or another.

Incense is terrible. Doesn't light quickly and then doesn't stay lit. All the cones just smell like burning, not the scents they claim.

I don't buy myself candles because I'm sensitive to fragrances, they usually trigger migraines, especially cheap candles. So I had no recollection how I got this candle, but decided the cinnamon vanilla smell was worth a try. A few moments after lighting the candle I got really quiet and was trying to figure out where this static sound was coming from. I realized it was the candle crackling and took a video. That was such a unique experience. It was relaxing, like sitting by a fireplace. Especially as the aroma spread through the room. It was like being wrapped in a cozy blanket by the fire. I lit that candle almost every night until one morning I accidentally knocked it off my bedside table and the glass broke. I immediately looked up Entity Candle and saw it was a small family owned candle store in Seattle. My husband contacted them to see if we could attend a candle making class the Wednesday after my birthday while we were in Seattle. Originally they weren't having any classes that day, but the owner's plans changed and she let us know she could accommodate the two of us. We smelled all the candles and so many scents reminded me of various times and places in my life. We made two candles, Onyx and Mt. Rainier, and the spend some time cutting and getting to know Shanise as our candles set. I 100% recommended this little shop for anyone who loves candles or melts. Anyone looking for a fun activity for a group should check out the candle making class. Support local family owned shops. Support quality made items.

He made the whole process a blast, walking us through each step with energy and enthusiasm that kept things fun and easy to follow. Even while assisting multiple guests at once, he made sure we always felt supported and never left waiting. Once you're familiar with the process, you'll select a vessel and explore 30+ scent options displayed along a scent wall. The team helps you discover which fragrances blend well together to create your ideal combination. This is where Mikey's expertise really shined! He suggested scents I hadn't considered, and they worked beautifully with my favorite scents. After creating your perfect scent ratio, the oils are blended into wax, and left to set for 2-3 hours. Prices were comparable to other handmade candles you find at farmers markets, plus ELM uses a coconut apricot wax. Be sure to book a reservation, they fill up quick!

I know Elm Candle through work and remembered some of my work colleagues coming here to do a team bonding event. My girl friend was turning 30 and said she would be doing a birthday activity here! Our scent specialist, Mikey was super helpful! They had everything prepared for our ladies to partake in the session and the instructions were on the card which was super cute since it also had a 'Thank You' at the back in support of their small business. You put your name and select which item you want to make. I chose a room spray since I have SO MANY candles at home! Mikey had us choose which container (room spray only had one kind) but candles had a variety. I wanted to make the reed diffuser initially but they were sold out! Next, they had a variety of scents on the wall so you could write those on your card and star your faves! Coffee beans were provided to help with your nose since you smell so many scents! Mikey was so patient with all of us and walked us through the process! I was super pleased with my scents. He evaluated each of our cards, asked us what kinds of scents we are into, and then gathered 3-4 essential oils to smell -- you can mix and match. You can omit one or add another depending on your preferences. We left with cute little bags! It was such a wonderful experience! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.

I love that Noir is a Black and woman-owner business, that was birthed from Covid. The concept of candle making is an amazing way to spend a special occasion. I also enjoy their pre-made candles as well as the other products that they sell in collaboration with local creators, like the body oil that smells amazing! This review is solely for my most recent candle making experience. I brought my sister for her big 13th birthday, along with her 5 other friends. Their candle vessels start at $10 for a mini, so there are affordable options. They go through the same process every time, explaining how to sniff and pass each scent, record your favorites, and then get time to mix scents before pouring. Each time I've gone, there were different workers. The ones that were working this time around didn't seem like they wanted to be there and although they weren't rude, they also weren't exactly friendly or welcoming towards any of us. I'll be trying out the other candle making place next time but Noir still has a special place in my heart!

We're always looking for something different to do instead of the usual dinner-and-a-movie routine, and this totally delivered. Vanessa and Jon made us feel like we were hanging out with friends who just happen to be candle experts. Jon's storytelling at the beginning was unexpectedly immersive he took us through the history of candles with this meditation that actually got me relaxed and present. Then Vanessa shared her story about starting Pumarosa, and you could feel how much heart she's put into this business, honoring her mom and her time in Venezuela under a Pumarosa tree, where those cherished memories began. The hands-on part was so fun. Smelling all the different scents and trying to pick just three was tough because they're all really, really good. My husband and I chose completely different combinations, which made sense for our personalities. Pouring the wax and getting the technique right felt like a little accomplishment, and now we have these custom candles that we actually made ourselves. I went back two weeks later to pick them up (you can also have them shipped), and of course I grabbed a few more. Vanilla, Cashmere, and Eucalyptus are my go-tos now. Whether you're celebrating something or just want to try something new and creative, I can't recommend this enough. It's thoughtful, hands-on, and honestly just a really nice way to spend an evening. Thanks for everything, Vanessa and Jon!

After a number of emails back and forth, they were not able to send me the original mailing receipt which is required to file a claim with USPS, so it seems unlikely I'll get anything from the claim anyways. They even gave me a "tip" that I should look into getting a secure mailbox, as if that would prevent an empty box from being delivered in the first place. In the end, I spent $140 for a box with nothing more than tissue paper and promotional material. Oh, did I mention they generously offered to send me the products again if I pay 60% more than I already paid? Thanks, but definitely not going to throw more money in your direction only to lose it again. Update: Just to clarify, this is not a case of mailbox theft...I was physically delivered an empty box by the carrier. There is always risk involved with shipping, and as the shipper, it's your responsibility to ship in a way that reasonably reduces risk and puts shipping liability on the carrier. Since you put more than $100 of your product in a box that's only covered for up to $100, you put the risk on the customer. I can't possibly be refunded now. You also could have reduced risk within reason by not advertising on the outside of the box that there is jewelry inside.
