    Juniper Ridge Products

LUCCA great finds indeed! I saw Juniper Ridge Products on Instagram and I reallllllly have been looking for natural, woodsy, inspired products/fragrances. When I went to the website LUCCA was the only Local boutique to carry them I've walked by the store a HUNDRED times and somehow never managed to pop in That changed today. Due to covid only 4 people can occupy the space. Totally find, so since I WANTED to smell these products I patiently waited my turn. I sanitized before I was able to enter and wore my mask even when smelling the fragrances. I found what I was looking for and then continued on browsing. I finally settled on the mini soaps to try as many as possible. I also picked up a tea because I mean of course! The store has a selection of the best find though! If you have an eclectic taste then you MUST pop into this small local Ballard business. You will not be sorry! I had a budget, but I swear I'll be popping in for some of their other candles and items.

This is one of the best gift shops I've been to in the Seattle area. It's part curiosity shop, part vintage art shop. They lean towards specializing into more of the curiosity side of gifts. In the front of the shop, you have coffee table books on centuries past fashion, anatomy, fortune telling, astrology, and vintage themed pictionary dictionaries. You can also find specialty soaps, lotions, and cedarwood & lemongrass sage bundles, tea and dish sets. In the back, they have vintage/antique post cards, posters, vintage scissors, and an abundant variety of writing tools! My favorite of the writing tools are the 'field note' mini notebooks and the group of grid, lined, and sketchbook notebooks that are of great quality. The owners take great care to bring their customers something unique and unusual. This is one of my favorite stores located in the Ballard neighborhood. I highly recommend taking a peak around, especially if you're a mixed media artist or creative entrepreneur. You're sure to find something, even if it's a neat and unique decoration for your space.

The most beautiful and dreamy smelling gift store in Ballard! Amazing array of items, from perfumes to candles to out from heaven soaps to the most intricate adornments for your house. I was more and more amazed as I was discovering more and more the store and for a moment I thought I was back to elementary school times with those old fashioned German made inks in purple, lavender and indigo blue, so pretty! Plenty of old school note books with travel memorabilia, especially portraying creative images of London, Paris and Seattle. Their patio is gorgeous and everything there is on sale too. Lots of kitsch objects and atmosphere. Friendly service that allows you to browse and touch without being on top of you. And oh, again, that smell on the way out, you will never forget that magic smell of Lucca's candles.

I love coming to this store. I could probably spend several hours in here if my conscience and guilt didn't kick in. They have cute finds from stationary, drawing and crafting utensils, to soaps, etc. It is a hodgepodge. Usually I am pining away for all the cute stuff in here because it is pretty expensive. I may splurge every now and then but I can't come too often for the sake of my wallet.

Garden Mint candle - what a heavenly scent!

I only bought a candle from this store - but what a fabulous candle! The Sydney Hale company makes some beautiful candles (the garden mint scent is heavenly) - and they support animal rescue organizations. The salespeople at the store were very helpful and kind and they sell some really nice products.

This is the first review I have ever posted to yelp--that is how happy I am with the service provided by the staff of this establishment. Searching for the elusive "Jewish Wisdom Ball" as a humorous gift for my 92 year-old father (who fortunately needs nothing), it was out of stock everywhere, until it showed up on the gift shop website, on sale no less. I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Within 48 hours I received a cheery message wishing me a "Happy Hanukkah", confirming shipping and actually apologizing for not having mailed it faster in the midst of the busy holiday season! I have since had occasion to contact them again and they are always prompt, professional and courteous. The gift shop is in Seattle while I live in Illinois, yet they treat me as though I am an old friend or longtime congregation member who has been walking through their doors often over the years. Based on this positive experience I intend to continue to support them with future purchases where appropriate. They are the sort of people we need more of in the world today and I can't thank them enough for the manner in which they do their jobs.

And honestly, every time I've come here, it still feels like I don't have enough time to make it through each section and floor of the market to properly see and enjoy everything. So I'll just have to keep coming back to explore more haha. One of my favorite discoveries has been how dog-friendly so many of the businesses were. A few of the vendors even offered my dog a treat, which was the nicest thing ever! Getting to try samples like apple cider, different types of vinaigrettes to dip your bread into, and beef jerky is always a win, and such a fun way to find new favorites!! Plus, there are plenty of great views and fun sights throughout the market if you're open to wandering around the different levels. Getting to Pike Place is super easy on public transit from the airport - it's direct there and under an hour away. Very user-friendly. The market itself can be explored in a couple of hours. I didn't get to see the famous "fish throwing" unfortunately but I did get to check out a number of stores. Places are very generous with samples. I tried bread with a few different balsamic vinegars and oils, salmon, truffle spreads and salt, and apple juice. The area around the market is very walkable and felt safe and clean. Prices are reasonable and it's easy to pick up souvenirs for friends. There are a wide variety of sundries available and most shops had airplane-friendly packaging. Also nearby is the famous gum wall (disgusting!) and the original Starbucks. Restrooms are plentiful although I found them to be a little unsavory in terms of cleanliness. The stall doors were also weirdly short? I'm a modest 5'3" and I found myself towering over them. Worth a stop if you're in the area. Very fun vibes.

I kind of thought you could buy most essentials at the airport, but it turns out children's shoes are not a typical travel need, at least when they aren't being worn by traveling children. Fireworks did carry children's slippers, which caught my eye as I passed, as well as a nice assortment of unique, crafty toys and gifts. Unfortunately, my five-year-old followed me into the store and zeroed in on a tiny, colorful finger puppet in the shape of a parrot. He asked me to buy it for him, and I declined, telling him we weren't getting a souvenir before we even left the airport. He was upset by this to the point of tears, but I managed to get us out of there. We had a wonderful time in Seattle, and to his credit, the five-year-old behaved well the whole trip (and the two-year-old got new shoes). When I saw Fireworks Gallery again by our departure gate, I decided at the last possible second to stop in and get him the parrot. It was one of several Folkmanis finger puppets in a wire basket. I picked it up along with a bunny rabbit and went to check out. There was a short line at the register--I guess this shop gets decent traffic--and by the time I was up, my husband was calling to tell me we were boarding. This is how I paid $36.36 for two finger puppets that cost $10 apiece online. Fireworks got me good, but my boys do love their little puppets, which are soft and cute and well made. The wares here are definitely nicer and less generic than at your average airport store. It might cost you, though, if you wander in there with your kids.
