Not a bad store but plenty of room for improvement. The produce selection is of better quality and selection over Albertson. The store is usually clean but almost always hard to navigate through. The front end could use some help in customer service and friendliness , and training on how to process a check from their corporate offices. I get a promotional check every so often from the credit card issued under the Kroger name and it is always a problem to use. I can not take it any where else because it is made out to that store. Awful store! I used to be a Fred Meyer shopper, but no longer. I got fed up with limited choices, congested isles, rude employees, and having the low quality Kroger Brand shoved down my throat. Despite all the stocking carts blocking the isles, they're always out of numerous items. Forget about trying to buy a sale item, because it's not on the shelf. Click and Shop carts block isles as well. The meat and produce departments are the worst! I'll never shop there again. The discount on gas just isn't worth it anymore. read more

Love Fred Meyer, normally. Tried their "click list " one stop, order ahead shopping. I'm still waiting in their parking lot now for over an hour for my groceries. Not a good experience. Don't recommend. Have seen 4 other shoppers drive off disgusted, refusing to wait. read more

I'm all about fred Meyer gas stations. Typically fast service in spite of the crazy lines that they usually have. Also there diesel fuel is high quality and never froze up on me this winter since they seemed to switch to a winterized fuel early. read more

After filling out many request for reviews on Fred Meyer's site, here I am. I swear I am never going back, but keep giving it a try. I know that Bend has a limited supply of employees, Fred Meyer can do a better job of training with what they have. Yesterday, my check out cashier didn't hesitate to complain about her bosses and how much work they have her do. When I was putting my purchases in the car, a young man was rounding up carts loudly complaining about how mixed up they were, big and little ones all shoved into the corral. He then took a bunch of them and walked off, leaving 2 carts in the way of my car! He saw me get in my car and watched as I waited for him to get out of the way and he still left the carts. Cheapest gas I've found around town that accepts Amex. I like how clean the grocery store is and it's nice to have a JC Penny-like department store inside too. Basically, this is a nicer version of Wal-Mart. It is friendlier and it is nicer. read more

Fred Meyer is my first choice over Wal-Mart, The store is roomy and is very clean. When you need assistance there is someone to help you unlike Wal-Mart. The prices on quality clothing is a bit high but worth it, especially on shoes. The food dept. has great sales too.... read more

I love the one stop shopping, but I have been to Fred Meyer twice this last week and it was a horrible experience both times. I have never in my life waited in line longer! And it wasn't because there were long lines. Both times the checkers were moving at a snail's pace! It was like they were deliberately trying to move as slow as possible. Pick up an item, look at it, hold it in your hand for a while, and then look for the bar code. Then take several moments to place it in a bag. Is this what the cashiers are being trained to do? Purchased shoe and the security tag did not get removed. I had to go back to the store to have tag removed. The cashier treated me like I stole the shoes, she stated this is not a valid receipt! (It was a duplicate because when I purchased the shoes the receipt tape was backwards and had to be flipped the day I purchased) I have lived in this area all my adult and have spent countless $$ in Fred Meyer !! read more

My family and I frequently shop at Fred Meyer. Overall we've had decent experiences. However, a member of my family was recently told that they were gluten intolerant, meaning gluten makes them feel very sick. I was very angry to see that in the bakery not only do they 1.) Not have very many gluten-free options but 2.) their limited selection of gluten-free items is extremely expensive. We found a 8 pack of cookies that were gluten-free, they were $10, while a pack of at least 20 cookies was only $4.95. This is completely ridiculous. Even though gluten-free product are more expensive to make, they should still be available for a reasonable price for those people that can't consume gluten. read more

Today the wait time to get to the checker was 15 minutes. The sign said 74 seconds - what a joke. At 10 minutes I visited with an individual and she said she was working to get more checkers. About 20 minutes later when we left there was no additional checkers. This is not the first time we have waited a long time when there were very few check out line open. Someone should visit with the management about customer service because it is a joke. PS i tried to call but no one answered after 20 rings. read more

I spend anywhere between 400-1000 depending on the month here and tonight I was treated so poorly. I went in with an air purifier that I had bout less then a month ago and the bottoms stick and it's difficult to use. I had us d my rewards card and was told to bring it in even though I could not find my receipt. Because of the rewards card my purchase was available to see all transactions actually. Well someone had already returned it and it was not me. So their loss and prevention were able to pull up videos and see that I did not return it and obviously someone had stolen my recept. And they even were able to pull up the day and with their cameras see it was not me. They called me back to the front all the while I was shopping and most likely about to spend three times the cost of the purifier. They said since someone else committed a crime I had to suffer for it. I am hurt I feel cheated and they were so rude to me I will never bring my business there again. I did nothing wrong and an item they sold me was defective or for me difficult to use. I'm so upset and would think my business and future business would mean more then a meesily purifier. I used to think of Costco and Fred Meyers as top stores but now I will be going to target where I never have had a problem or been treated so poorly. I mean why have cameras and crime prevention if they can't do their job and protect the consumers and stores. Thank God for Costco and target. Fred Myers jewelry's Goldsmith does not care about customer service. I was excited to receive a diamond wedding set for Christmas. I needed the set unsodered and one ring resized one size smaller. I dropped this off Thursday after being promised by 3 different sales people that the repair would take one day, and was told no now it will take 3days. The sales women asked the Goldsmith several questions including can he size my ring he answered yes to every one. Then on Saturday I go in to pick up my finished ring to be told he did nothing and did not even bother to call to tell me why he wasted 3days I could have had my ring being fixed by a competent jeweler. All I got was two sales people saying "um Yeah he couldn't do it... I don't know why..." all the Goldsmith did was write on the pick up paper "won't go" how this is a proper explanation of why he refused service is unknown to me. I was impressed by the timing promised and put the fact I had heard from several friends that the goldsmiths skills are very poor. I love Fred Meyers. I've been going to Freddy's all my life, but this store has the worst checkers I have ever experienced. We spend more time in line than filling our cart with a weeks groceries, and despite the long lines, checkers go so slow and barely acknowledge customers. Otherwise the store has everything we need, is clean and has a good layout. read more

Laziest checker I've ever seen. I went through Matthew's line last night with a crying 11 week old and an exhausted 8 year old. I should have known from the beginning to not go in his checkout. There were long lines with the other checkers and when we passed Matthew's area he was not grabbing customers, he was SITTING on the checkstand texting on his phone. When I sent down my reusable grocery bag first, so he knew i had one for packing, he simply placed it behind him and started scanning items. I was shocked when I was done unloading and all the items were smushed down at the end of the stand, unbagged. I spent $192 and bagged 49 items myself while he hopped back on the checkstand, tied his shoes, and began to chat with the neighboring cashier about how "blitzed" her last customer was. I have never had an experience like that and was extremely upset. I would have wanted to see a manager straight away but it was 9pm and I had fussy children waiting on me. I will be calling today to speak to a manager and will suggest if Matthew doesnt want to do his job, they find someone else who would be happy to be employed. Despicable customer service. read more

Visiting this Fred Meyer was the worst shopping experience I've had in a very long time! Because of Bend's wonderful bag ban, the store has only paper bags, and someone forgot to order any. The cashier had some paper bags there, but she wouldn't let me have one! I had to carry out 21 items without a single bag! I'm all for reducing plastic waste, but this is ridiculous! The "lady" that was cashiering started complaining about how many people were in line and asked me and my husband why we didn't go to a different line to check out! She was as slow as those DMV sloths in the movie Zootopia. She couldn't get the theft prevention device off of a shirt my husband was buying so she set it aside, after she rang it up and my husband had to tell her to put it in the cart. Then she had to take the shirt to another cashier to take off the device. I have to travel 100 miles to shop in Bend. From now on, I'm skipping Fred Meyer and I'll just get what I would have purchased there for Amazon! read more
