My Virginia pharmacy asked them to supply 4 tablets of Metoprolol which costs retail without insurance anywhere between 50 cents and 1 dollar. This place charged me 20.00 for 4 tablets. Westside Pharmacy in Bend OR Recommend that you avoid doing business with Westside Pharmacy. I have never been treated so poorly. The staff is unprofessional, extremely rude and aggressive. Including Throwing prescription bottles and yelling at their customers. I thought maybe it's because we have a number of prescriptions to refill until I read additional reviews of customer experiencing the same thing. Because my experience was not good I think I have to write a review so the business can learn. What made us upset was the lack of accountability. 1. Poor communication from the get go (several phone calls) 2. Insisted on a fax from my NY pharmacy when they were in the other end of the line and could have done it by phone; it was never made clear that fax was required, felt like a preference. Please make it clear if that's necessary. 3. They don't take GoodRX! and I wasn't offered any other cost reduction 4. Unwillingness to help at the counter; someone sitting on the ground, maybe 4 or 5 employees and we had to wait? 5. After finally getting the refill ordered, my dad and I sat in the lobby for 10 minutes before another employee approached and asked whether we were customers (yes) 6. Another 15 - 20m passed before I went back to the counter asking for an update. There was so much time to let us know we didn't need to wait. 7. It all made me feel b a d. We were treated like dummies, but never have I had such a confusing experience like this in any other pharmacy. And I'm from NYC, so that's saying something. read more

Westside Pharmacy used to be great. Unfortunately, this business has gone downhill. I no longer recommend them. It appears they accepted too many new clients and more than they can handle. They can't keep up with the demand and the service is now terrible. Every month we have to chase down our Rx's that are needed on a daily basis. They are consistently over a week or two late refilling them. This is NOT continuity of care and can cause serious side effects for patients. They don't send text updates, and they don't answer their phone (what business doesn't answer their phone?). If you send an email, you receive an automated response that states they will respond in a week or so, and recommend coming to the pharmacy in person if it's important. We have been patient and kind while they get caught up. However, this has been going on for at least 6+ months and the situation doesn't seem to be improving. On several occasions, we have driven to the pharmacy to inquire/try to pick up our Rx's only to wait for hours and have to come back because they are not ready. Oftentimes, the staff is clueless regarding the status of your refill(s) and not always friendly. In addition, several months ago, we were scheduled to get our Covid booster there. We specifically requested Pfizer. We arrived for our scheduled appointment and were informed they ran out of Pfizer. We were told we would have to get Moderna or reschedule. A call, text, or email would have been appreciated to save us a trip to the pharmacy. Our time is valuable, and we will be switching pharmacies if this poor service continues. This place was great when I first started going there and I would have given them 5 stars then. It was a breath of fresh air compared to Safeway. Then sometime around June of 2021 they imploded. Now they seemingly can't do anything right. They don't fill prescriptions on time, sometimes making you go two weeks without your meds because they are late. They don't have common drugs in stock. And to top it off, they no longer answer the phones which they are unapologetic about. We have to drive up from Sunriver sometimes six times a month just to get our monthly prescriptions filled because unless you are there in person they won't even begin the process of filling your prescriptions. Multiple follow-up in person visits are then required to get them to complete the task. I thought maybe this was just a temporary glitch and they would eventually get things straightened out. After six months it's not clear they are even trying. They claim to be short staffed, but it seems to me if the owners haven't hired anyone in half a year maybe they just don't intend to or aren't willing to pay what the market requires. Oddly unprofessional & unwelcoming- Would NOT recommend anyone new to Bend to go there. The medications are handed to you by what seems like teenagers- kid was super sweet but wondered if they're allowed to be back there handling all the meds, seemed like the owners kids or something. What really got to me was the pharmacist and I'm assuming also owner. GoodRx listed Westside pharmacy as one of the places that work with them. Pick up my meds and was told that they in fact do not take GoodRx. Wasn't really too bothered, was gonna pay and just let them know that they were on GoodRx's site in case they were not aware. Her response to me was "Yeah, they're a scam. Wish they wouldn't do that." With a subtle laughter under her tone. It honestly felt borderline discriminatory towards those who cannot afford insurance and use GoodRx. Well here to tell ya- GoodRx actually HELPS when people NEED medications daily and cannot afford insurance. I know that if I didn't need my medication daily, I 100% would have transferred my Rx elsewhere. This place was the one leaving me feeling scammed, not GoodRx. Work on getting yourself off their site instead of leaving your clients feeling disrespected with a not good enough excuse. I wouldn't even be writing a review if it weren't for how uncaring her response was. There are people in tougher spots than I am in. It mostly angered me for anyone that has to go through this experience after me and id like to bring awareness to it if I can. read more

This is a wonderful pharmacy and is a real stand-out especially appreciated compared to the big corporate chain pharmacies and grocery store operations. They are friendly, fast, flexible, and focused on filling your prescription rather than selling you other stuff. In this difficult time when major pharmacies are trying to become health care providers and their drive-up line is clogged with long lines of people getting vaccinations and the indoor pharmacy lines are packed with people who are obviously not well or properly masked, it is literally a breath of fresh air! read more

First time here! My dermatologist (Bend Dermatology- Ali McKean PA-C is the best!) sent over my prescription since she knew they would have it. They were super friendly when I called! They even added a coupon because I was paying cash (Medicare wouldn't cover it). It was filled quickly & they texted when it was ready. Everyone is very nice & friendly! If I lived closer I would use them all the time! They also carry my new favorite Kombucha "CABOOST: Coo Coo Cachoo (Tropical Paradise)" It's made in Bend! Thanks for recommending it! read more

Like anyplace else, these folks are busy and I've always had to wait in line, but Westside Pharmacy is efficient, friendly and goes the extra mile. Westside Pharmacy provides excellent service. I particularly appreciate being listened to and treated with respect. There have been times when they have needed to contact my PCP because I was out of refills which they did promptly and without complaint. They educate me on new prescriptions and advise me of important information that I need to know. I realize that some of this information is on the prescription info pamphlet, however, I can't read the very tiny font. I doubt that I'm the only one in this position. They have way too many clients and can't provide any normal service. They have an app to handle refill requests but they don't have time to process the request. You can't call because they don't have time to pick up the phone. I feel bad for the employees who are buried. I've needed to go to the pharmacy in person at least 3 times to get an Rx. One to tell them you need to refill. Again to see if it's being refilled and another to pick up. read more

Unfortunately they messed up one of my prescriptions and when I called to the know one of the pharmacist Erika was incredibly rude and hung up on me, as well as, raised her voice. I called back and she continued to be rude and while I stated again why I was calling she left the phone and said she did not want to hear my complaints. I asked to speak to an owner or supervisor, but no one has contacted me since my original complaint nearly 10 days ago. West Side is an excellent local pharmacy with friendly, well-informed employees who give prompt, efficient service and go out of their way to make customers feel welcome. I just moved to Bend, and I needed an out-of-state prescription filled right away. My insurance company was a little hard to get information from, but the people at West Side patiently and cheerfully navigated the bureaucracy for me. There are so many things to love about Westside Pharmacy, but what truly makes them great is their customer service. The women (I have only met women every time I visit--so if you're a man working there, and I haven't met you i'm sorry!) who work there are incredibly kind, patient and actually helpful! I say helpful because since living in Bend have used big chain pharmacies who have treated our family of 3 horribly. From just fluoride tablets, to psoriasis ointments among other things the big chain stores can just be MEAN and do not care about your wellbeing. Westside Pharmacy does care! When we made the switch, I did not know what to expect but I loved that it was a locally owned store. From day one they took over our prescriptions from our last pharmacy and could not have made it easier. The employees always seem like they enjoy working there, and it comes off genuine. They are not judgmental--Once I had an issue using their app for a refill (not their fault, they tried calling me and left me a voicemail on a house number while I was gone) and I accidentally kept reordering the same refill so many times--not knowing what I was doing. I heard their super nice voicemail and called them back, they explained the issue and just kindly laughed at my error without making me feel terrible (or stupid) for my mistake. It was very refreshing, and as silly as it may seem.. it is little things like that, that put my mind as ease when choosing a pharmacy. Would you rather go somewhere that has employees who treat you terribly..(like we did at Fred MeyerPharmacy) or somewhere that has kind people who want to help you and your family get better and FEEL better. They are closed on Sundays, which has not been an issue for us--They have a great drive up window if you don't want to leave your car, the typical "over the counter" cold and pain meds along with other supplements you might want. It's clean, well set up, and again.... after leaving the large chain store pharmacy... I can NOT stress enough how wonderful all the employees we have encountered are--from the pharmacy techs, to the pharmacist and everyone! They are wonderful. We have been going for about 6 months now, with no plans on switching as long as we are living in Bend. Westside Pharmacy, we are so thankful to you and your whole staff. For making the phone calls to doctors, for dealing with our insurance, your patience, kindness and the quality of service. This is a great local business. Much better service than the big chain pharmacies. The staff really takes the time to do a good job & obviously cares about their work. I switched here after having problems at Walgreens (they are just took busy & rushed) & am very glad I did. The only drawback is their hours - could be a problem if you work long hours.
