I've been using this Fred Meyer's for years. Every time I need to go to the customer service desk I usually get this particular associate that has never been particularly good at customer service. I've always thought that maybe she was having a bad day and always try to approach her in a friendly manner.I work in customer service and know that it is difficult to continually answer questions and handle people that are difficult. But it doesn't matter, she's always salty and a couple of weeks ago she was the worst. Admittedly, they do have a few people that are always helpful. I went into this Fred Meyer to check to see if some merchandise was on the shelf from my family business and was happy with the variety and selection of their merchandise. I thought that the store was cut up into too many areas that some stuff was redundant. The store is huge so it is easy to spend a lot of time and money here. This is more a reminder for me. Stop going to Fred Meyer in Bend. It used to be a great one stop shop. Now, it doesn't have a good selection, customer service is terrible, the veggies (greens) they did have were wilted already. The layout of the store is way less shop able than ever despite the makeover. Every single time I give them another shot, I leave disappointed. Don't waste your time. I've been shopping at Fred Meyer for years now, since it's so close to home. Lately though it getting ridiculous with their lack of enforcement on dogs in the store. People continue to bring in their non service dogs and none of the Fred Meyer staff does anything about it. There are always a number of employees that are everywhere stocking shelves, but they just ignore it. I am a HUGE dog lover, but I don't want dogs around my food. I'm sure they still won't do anything about it though, even though it it's against the law. read more

If I could give this store a minus 10 I would. Went into the store to buy a flashlight. The flashlights are locked up and pressed the help button. 20 minutes later zero help and walked out of the store extremely upset. Looked as far as I could see in the store and not one person in sight to help. This was about 2PM. My wife tried to download the Fred Meyer app and for a digital coupon and the site was unavailable. She went into the store for a digital coupon and went to the help desk and after about 30 minutes they could not get the app downloaded and said there was problems with the site. Few months later another great deal on a digital coupon. Once again from home she tried to download the app and once again said the site was unavailable. She got the items and went to check out and explained about not having any luck with the app and the teller was very rude to her. As usual lack of checkers in Fred Meyer and as people lined up behind her the teller kept abusing and embarrassing her. This is our go to shopping center when we go to Sunriver, Oregon. It is their version of Walmart Superstore but way better in my book. You will find just about anything and everything in this store. This place is amazing! Everything is under one roof! From clothing to home goods to groceries and also a seafood counter! It is almost like a super walmart but less ghetto! We bought groceries here as well as OTC medications to a laptop! I love love how they don't have sales tax here!!! Each time we came here, there were hardly any customers in the store and there is no wait at the cash register! Visiting Bend, this is our go to for the majority of things we need. Needed a price check on unmarked item. The person who's worked here for decades and is helpful was helping someone else on self-checkout. There was a very young person doing something on computer, and I asked him for assistance. "Just a minute. I'm doing something". Then, he took item, looked it over and flatly stated "it is unmarked", to which I said, "yes, I know. That is why I asked you for help. Can you price check it for me?" He replied "I don't know how". We stared at each other for a moment. He looked bored and completely unconcerned with the problem. Then, another person with a name tags came up, uninterested person handed item to her, and she said "it is not marked". There were a group of employees now present, and NOT ONE of them were interested in a price check. Out of exasperation, I finally said "I guess I don't need it that bad" to which they all shrugged their shoulders and walked away. By the time I got home, my level of irritation was sufficient that I placed a comment on their website for resolution. I got an auto reply back that stated they're too busy to respond. That pretty much sums up what Fred Meyer has become. read more

By far this is the best pharmacy in town. They are extremely reliable, fast, and friendly. We switched over from Walgreens which unfortunately turned into an absolute nightmare. We also use Costco for our dog meds the only thing about this Pharmacy is their turnover for refills is very slow. I love that Fred Meyer can turn over a prescription in about 30 minutes while you shop. The refills were extremely easy to take care of. They promptly deal with any issues. Great store. A little on the pricier side but quality for the most part. Don't bother with getting online delivery service though. CS will give you the run around whenever there is a fuck up and blame their partner, Instacart and their shoppers. My rating is for the online delivery service. I tried using it a few times to see if it was worth it to get it delivered instead. I paid $10 each time on top of tip. The shoppers were obviously trying to get around my small shopping list by listing things that were obviously in store by just refunding it. Husband pulled a muscle and wanted a few items delivered instead of him going to the store. So he wanted them delivered. Why not I go instead? Because I would take longer and get distracted and he said I should just stay home and enjoy my Sunday too. But mostly the former reason. Lol. So the only way it would be true is if it was literally the last pack of Bubly soda water in the whole store. CS blamed Instacart and their shopper and said it was not their fault and was there anything else they could help me with? Last straw. Always issue after issue. Walmart has better CS. I signed up with Walmart+ instead. We're close enough to FM if we need something quick we will just go in instead of having it delivered. read more

The Bend Fred Meyer did really well during the time I was living in Bend, Oregon during the Pandemic. It's better if you are shopping with an idea of what items you want to buy. I recommend taking a list or a rough sketch of the item(s) on the list. Also, there are plenty of options for shopping at this Bend Fred Meyer. I noticed that during Pandemic most of the employees that were working (that weren't at the end of their shifts) wore a buff or a face mask or were given those disposable masks at the Checkout (the register)... by managers on duty (MODs). There were a few other shoppers who didn't bring their spectacles (prescription glasses) who didn't also bring a magnifying glass (I have a pocket one for my darling Husband when he needs to read the fine print on some of the packages). Those few other shoppers usually went to the reading glasses section and "borrowed" those readers. I could see the tags still on those readers while the senior citizens were reading the bottles and packages. I don't recommend buying readers unless one has gotten a prescription for a pair before. I recommend paying the co-pay for prescription glasses for reading. Also, if one doesn't have insurance there are options. Most of the other shoppers that were my age were looking for deli sandwiches or other picnic type items because on those afternoons I spent in Bend, Oregon there was sunshine on at least four days and evenings. Most of my trips to this Bend Fred Meyer... I stop and look at the Fred Meyer Jewelry counters... to look for charms or other items for my Pandora style bracelet. I've located a few that I liked over the years. Nobody at this Bend Fred Meyer is as friendly as the associates at the local Fred Meyer stores in Portland, Oregon (who worked between 2008 and 2012) though. I've noticed that some of the people who have worked retail are tired of the drama and bullcrap from specific customers. It's the same few customers who are the most vocal. Bought a couch online at Fred Meyer. I was told I could pick it up today since it was in stock. When I tried to pick it up, I was transferred back and forth between customer service and the furniture department. They were very rude and stated they have other customers to assist. They suggested I cancel my order and reorder the couch, I explained that I would lose the promotional deal if I did that. Their response was "I am sure we could figure out something." So I cancelled my order and reordered. I did not get the promotional deal and was told I could not pick it up today since they did not know if it was in stock, they already confirmed it was in stock. So I left with no couch and a bad recommendation for Fred Meyers. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM THEM. Absolute nightmare! read more

I like this Fred Meyer. The prices are decent and even comparable to Wal-Mart in some instances. Their meat selection is good as well as the fruit and veggies, although I avoid their fish (it seems to be fishy most of the time, or old). They have a good home section and I've bought furniture before. They also have a dvd department with some older movies you can't get anywhere else, which is kinda cool when you don't want to watch something newer. The store itself is usually well organized and clean. The bathrooms can get a little gross sometimes, I will say that, but I've usually only had that problem in the middle of the afternoon, not in the morning or at night. I've been going to this one for about 13 years, and only had issues rarely. The parking lot is kind of a cluster, but it seems like Bend is just that way now. The gas is cheap too, and I switch between getting gas here and at Chevron and haven't noticed any mileage differences (I buy premium fuel only, because of my car). The gas attendants are generally polite. It's rare that I get someone rude, same goes for the store employees; usually they are helpful and polite. I will say to avoid their self check out machines! The sensors on them are not very good and I have trouble almost every time I use them. Hopefully they will get an update soon. read more

On the morning of Friday, March 13, 2020, by way of the Fred Meyer mobile app, I ordered 2 packages of Charmin Ultra Strong Mega Rolls bathroom tissue and 1 gallon bottle of Clorox bleach. The mobile app indicated the items in question were in stock and would be available for pick-up the following morning, Saturday, March 14, 2020, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Therefore I paid for the aforementioned items and reserved the pick-up time slot and was prepared to retrieve my items the following morning. The next morning I arrived at the store, parked in one of the designated pick-up parking stalls and called the number on the sign. One of the clerks picked up and asked for my name so they could fulfill and deliver the order to my car. The clerk began to pause and stutter about not having the items I ordered in stock. Needless to say, I was angry. I was transferred to a manager and he told me the items I had ordered the day before were not in stock due to the store being extra busy the previous day. When I asked why the items I had ordered were not set aside and reserved he told me they had to sell my items to accommodate the shoppers in the store. What gives this store the right to charge me for items, then sell the very items I had already paid for to someone else? This technically falls under fraud due to the fact that I had already paid for items and the seller had accepted payment for said items, which constitutes a legal and binding contract. In addition, shortly afterward I saw through the mobile app that Fred Meyer had cancelled the order without my consent and still (it is now Wednesday, March 18, 2020) have not refunded the purchase. Now, according to the statement made to the Cincinnati Business Courier, shortly after I placed my order, by the CEO of Kroger, Rodney McMullen... "We believe that everyone deserves to have access to fresh, affordable food and essentials, especially in times of uncertainty," McMullen said of the company's efforts to keep items in stock. "That's why our teams are working so hard to keep our stores clean, open and stocked. That's why we took the precautionary step on March 2 to limit the number of cold, flue and sanitary products per order...so everyone can have access to the items they need. And that's why our supply chain teams are working to ensure that the food, medicine and cleaning supplies our customers need are reaching our stores as quickly as possible and are available through our pickup, delivery and ship services." Obviously, that statement does not apply to the Bend, Oregon Fred Meyer store. How can I embrace the statement made by Mr. McMullen? I ordered a mere three items, paid for them, and was promised they would be available the following day, but due to the integrity of the store employees, I experienced a level of fraudulent service that left me speechless. Please tell me what will be done about this situation and when I can expect remuneration. In all seriousness, funds were withdrawn from my account on the basis of a purchase of goods. When no goods were delivered as a result of the purchase, this is an illegal act and will be filing a law suit with my attorney if my funds are not returned by end of business tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, 2020. After being a loyal customer of the Fred Meyer franchise for more than 40 years, I expected more from them. Regardless of the outcome of this situation, I will never again be frequenting any Fred Meyer or associated store again and I will do everything I can to prevent others from doing so. I am a pretty avid Fred Meyer shopper, whether it be in Bend or Portland. I am continually disappointed in this location. It appears that Click-List has taken over bend and Fred Meyer couldn't be happier.... Meaning that you continually have to dodge the large carts sitting in your way. Ohh while your dodging that, watch out for the 10 workers restocking the shelves and leaving their cart in the middle of the walkway or in front of the item you need! Don't worry, they wont offer to move or even say hello.... It makes shopping quite hard! Terrible customer service at the electronic store!! It is 4:10 on Monday feb 24h. I was harassed by 2 different employees multiple times. I just wanted to be left alone! This is one of the Fred Meyer that offers Click List - an online order system that allows you to avoid the holiday rush and order ahead. We are on vacation for the holidays and booked a cabin in Sunriver. I spent a week with an online cart "open" adding things as we thought about it. Closed it the day before and scheduled pickup for shortly after our arrival. Drove up to Bend last night called the number and my food magically was loaded into my car no crazy holiday shopping. No long lines. No stress. So I can't tell you what the store looks like inside but I can tell you I love them. Five stars for the pickup manager Bob P who sent me a personal response detailing the challenges he and the Bend location are facing in the pandemic, including unpredictable deliveries from their suppliers and finding trainable staff. I applaud him for hanging in there, but as a customer, I have stopped shopping there, because of the slow turnaround (6 hours +) and unpredictability on curbside pickup orders, and because I do not feel safe going into the store with the current execution of sanitation and social distancing measures. Seems every time I leave Fred Meyers I want to write a review. Unfortunately most of the times it's not for positive reasons. Today, I felt I had to write something, with the hopes that store management reads it. Talking to someone at the store usually ends up with being sent to Customer Service, to talk to incompetent personnel who advise you to call an 800 number. The only grocery stores I go to are: Costco, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Market Of Choice, and Fred Meyers. I like the variety of products at FM and I'm not writing this for the quality of the market, but mainly for the people they hire, who don't seem to have a clue. Also, they don't seem to want to be there and are preoccupied with chit chatting amongst themselves behind the counter, especially at the deli. I feel my hair getting grayer as I stand waiting for my order. Today I was being questioned by a rude deli employee, that the salami I requested, 'thin slices' was going to be too thin. I gave her two more orders and specifically mentioned that I wanted thin slices, to which she made a face and mumbled under her nose, in front of me, complaining about my order. I noticed that the first order was the wrong deli meat and when I told her, she insisted it wasn't, until I pointed it out to her. She sliced the meat then threw the bag on the counter without even asking if there was anything else I needed. Which I did, I needed some cheese, but after waiting there too long, and being treated rudely, I decided to leave. At the cash register.... another story of waiting. I know they're trying to be friendly, and most of the time they're good people and polite. However, I don't want to hear their questions/ comments, regarding the items, as they scan them, in as slow motion manner as possible. I don't want to talk about the weather - it's always cold and dreary. I don't want to hear about their dog or have lame chitchat small town conversation. I want to say hello, get my stuff out as fast as possible, pay and get out. Most of the time, I go to self check out for these reasons. I haven't lived in this small wannabe town too long, and I do realize the labor pool is shallow. However, you would think Fred Meyers would at least pay more attention as to the people they're hiring and most importantly offer more training in customer service. read more
