This opinion of mine is in regards the store after reopening... It was very crowded on day one and on day two but it slowed down tremendously afterwards. The vendors cleared their opening stands and things went back to normal (not a good thing) ... The vegetables stopped being as fresh as on day one, the mushrooms were the same and you could tell they are a few days old... The "handmade from scratch" bread is not baked enough and is not good at all... So, YES, it went back to normal. Most frustrating is the ID check if you got yourself some beer or a bottle of wine... I'm over fifty and I said: Seriously? After arguing I found out it's their "house rule" because legal age is still 21. In a state in which cops are prohibited to ask criminals of their emigration status, the Fred Meyer employees ask senior citizens for their ID BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT MANAGEMENT WANTS... The front desk excuse is they serve beer now inside, but do you serve it without asking at the serving point for an ID? It might make sense to ask for identification by the moment you pour someone alcohol into a glass, not at checkout; basically, this excuse is a BS. So, Bellevue FM management, take your house rule and stick it deep where the sun doesn't sine! P.S. Your floors suck (badly)! read more

Would have given negative star if possible. The worst customer service. Supervisor named Martin, hid and refused to come out from hiding. Issue was on return of an unopened merchandise purchased mid August and Martin insisted that the return policy was visibly posted when their sales associates didn't even know where the policy was posted. Nothing stated on the sale receipt either. After an hour of arguing, he refused to also provide a merchandise gift card as refund and insisted or shorting the refund even when its clearly stated how much was paid on the receipt. Finally got a refund from an associate who could not believe how the supervisor was treating customer. Martin needs remedial training or just be demoted. There's no room for that type of attitude. read more

Update May 2017: Returned today since I had a few hours to shop and wanted to fully check out the store. The remodel is pretty nice. Wine bar, nice size deli, beer station and growler fills, wine cellar, although it is just a small room with an automatic door, Starbucks, and it seems the vegetable section is much bigger. I explored most of the store. Looks much nicer and the layout is more open. Went through self checkout because I despise using check stands. I'm not there to socialize and become their best friend, I just want to check out and leave. The girl running the area was very pleasant, smiling, said hello, and was right there to help people. The prices are still just as high as before. I really thought their beer selection would substantially improve, but it's not that good. It is nice they have growler fills now. That is coming more popular in stores. I'm only giving it 3 stars because this place doesn't really blow my socks off. The additions mentioned above are nice, but not trailblazing, since many stores already have this. The remodel was long overdue. ****************************** I have been to this location several hundred times since I moved here. Never really had a problem with it. The prices are a little higher than other stores, but I always figured that is because of the location. Everything in Bellevue is expensive. Once it closed for remodel, I had to go somewhere else. I waited for it to reopen like everybody else. The rumor is there would be a gas station. It finally reopened a year later. No gas station. I went in 2 weeks after opening, about an hour before closing, to check it out with my lady. We bought a handful of microbrews. Both of us are clearly significantly over 21. Gray and balding. I wanted to use self checkout because I despise using checkers. They are slow and want to have a long discussion. She insisted on going to through a check stand. They are ALWAYS slower. Fine... two young girls, no older than 22, were working. First thing this young girl does is ask for ID. WHAT?? We both have plenty of gray hair and wrinkles. Do you really think I'm underage? I should have told her no, if she can't figure out that gray, balding, and wrinkles means you are not a minor. If this happens again, I will not return. read more

If you're going to lock up baby formula, at least place a "call button" with the security camera like Walgreens does. I had to grab a self checkout employee for help, they dont have a key, so they had to call someone on intercom multiple times and I ended up standing there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to show up to open the locked up formula. I understand why you have to lock it up, I totally get it, but if you're going to have anti-theft measures in place they should at least be more efficient. In my case today, I was rushing out to get formula because I was out of it at home and have a 4 month old...I was just trying to get in and out and back home fast and this delayed me more than I anticipated it would. I usually dont buy my formula from you guys because of this, but today was the day I thought it would be faster to just stop at Fred Meyer, and it would have been faster to go somewhere else. Just coming at it from a human perspective. Still love your store, and shop there a few times a week I just wanted to bring this up, because it's been an ongoing thing I've noticed and feel like there could be an easier way to manage this in particular :) read more

This Fred Meyer location has undergone a year long renovation process. They've added a couple thousand square feet, along with extended grocery floor plans reminiscent akin to Top Food and Drug. The aisles are better stocked and organized, but the employees are mostly new and undertrained. They are constantly understaffed and don't have nearly enough cashiers. Consequently this leaves you at the checkout lines for 15 or more minutes on every visit, regardless of how few items you have. Today was no exception as I stood in line for over 20 minutes. If you are picking up any groceries which require a produce code or state ID, then I do not recommend the self checkout lines..... the machines will double or triple charge you on those items when the float cashier comes over and punches in her authorization. I paid for four bags of tomatoes when I only bought one. I also found quite a few dead insects in the bags of produce after opening at home....Also, their sushi section is divided between several open display refrigerated shelves. The bottom shelf has poor refrigeration and barely blows cool air, so the sushi is a bit closer to room temp than I would like.... Overall you'll save maybe 5%-7% on your grocery bill at this Fred Meyer compared to Safeway, QFC, or Albertsons......but it's really not worth the ridiculous lines. read more

Fred Meyer - bug in lettuce - Grocery Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

I have been shopping at this Fred Meyer for 20 years, so I can put myself in the Expert category on this one. "Freddies" has the cheapest overall prices of all the stores in the Overlake area. The store has had its ups and downs over the years, but today it is doing pretty well. Given its close proximity to Microsoft's main campus and the high density of condos and apartments within walking distance, it arguably has the most diverse set of customers from around the world from any Fred Meyer I have been to. It feels like the United Nations. The vegetable section is where we focus a lot of attention. Because my daughter is allergic to chemicals sprayed on them, we buy a lot of organic foods. They now have all organic vegetables in on aisle, which makes it much easier than when they were scattered about. They have a full line of organic fruits and vegetables. If you shop later in the evening you can likely get the freshest stuff that is being laid out for the next day. (Store closes at 11:00 PM) To service their international clientele you'll find several "foreign" vegetables in one case back near the meat section. They also have a fairly large organic foods section adjacent to the vegetables, and you can usually find what you need (although PCC and Whole Foods do have better selection but higher prices). The meat section is rather small compared to other stores, stuck in the corner. They oftentimes have whole fish, and they will fillet them for you at your request at no additional charge. The women butchers seem to do a better job at it than the male butchers, BTW. One item I find to be a consistently great deal are the pre-made crab cakes, $1 a cake. Bargain. Recently they have started stocking bison, which tastes exactly like hamburger but with far less fat. It is pricier, though. They have a modest amount of cheeses and fresh-baked breads. Other stores have more (QFC). There is a modest bulk foods section, and they also have machines for grinding your own peanut butter or almond butter. They do well in the ethnic food department. They have a lot of Mexican, Chinese, Thai, and a growing Indian selection. If you can't find what you want, there are several nearby ethnic markets (Spice Route, Taj Market, a large Chinese market across the street to the south, and a Mexican market down the hill on NE 20th). And then there is the non-food stuff, which is about 2/3 of the store. They have clothing, electronics, pharmacy, eyeglasses, books, magazines, camping equipment, houseware, automotives, jeweler, and a garden center. I probably forgot something. But the prices in these sections are also among the lowest around as well. They recently started stocking Mountain House freeze-dried dinners for you backpackers. You'll find it in the camping section. It is a bit cheaper than REI. On the down-side, getting through checkout quickly is a hit-and-miss deal. The checkers are usually fairly quick and competent, but oftentimes shoppers have their own issues that slow things down. They do have eight self-checkout stations and two express lines if you want to check out yourself or only have a dozen or so items. Is it the fanciest Fred Meyer? No, Redmond's is far nicer and much larger, but not so much so that I am going to drive the extra distance to get to it. Do they have a ton of variety in food selection? No, you aren't going to find things that are "rare" like balsamic fig vinegar or orange ketchup. They do seem to have at least one bottle of every kind of wine or beer on the planet, though. Walmart is opening a new store a few miles down the road on 148th in the fall. I am interested to see how it affects Freddies. For those living south of the Overlake shopping area it may draw many people to it. For those of us north of Overlake, not so much because of the many traffic lights that we would need to get through, and the heavy Microsoft traffic. But until then, Fred Meyer is a default store based on price and selection of the stuff we need. read more

I would give starbuck's customer service 0 stars at this bellevue fred meyer location if I could. Number 1 there is only one cashier. There were 10 people in line and she didn't want to give me a cup of water instead I waited over 10 minutes for my water. When I went to complain the starbucks manager was rude she's like your not the only one waiting. It's just a cup of water do u really have 0 customer service skills. The manager was like well I was on break and I'm like for 15 minutes? The starbucks manager was the rudest person that I've ever met. It's just a cup of water it takes 5 seconds. read more

We've waited a year for our Fred Meyer to reopen and first impressions were mixed. Pros: Large (Enormous) well-lit store with very wide aisles and plenty of parking. Several checkout stands and self-checkouts. Employees are plentiful and very helpful. Cons: This store is so big, it is an ordeal getting all the stuff on your list. In a smaller FM like the Kirkland store, back-tracking isn't an issue - here it is a major hike and the polished concrete floors don't make it easy. You can't see the other side of the store because of the curvature of the earth! Ambient noise levels are so high you have to nearly yell to be heard by the food service people (sandwiches, pizza area) Last time in, I was after 5 things. Took me 30 minutes of walking to find 4 of them - they stopped stocking the fifth. Also bought a cherry pie that was horrible - it looked like a pie and tasted of cherry, but the thin, red pasty filling was the worst. We will be using the Kirkland store going forward. read more

Gardening is a fun hobby. Perusing around nurseries is an enjoyable experience usually. However, at Fred Meyer I was faced by tension from the girl working there. She appeared in willing to help make customer experience enjoyable. She seemed awkwardly talking to customers. She responded with less than politeness. Too bad. read more

So I called this place before I decided to mosey on down to the Kirkland Fred Meyers. Not even sure if this place has a jewelers section but apparently they transferred me to it when I called to confirm. The lady answered the phone and I told her I was looking to get my watch adjusted. Clearly she was with sales cause she quickly mumbled something about the specialist getting back at...... Yeah I didn't catch at what time cause she mumbled and spoke way too fast. Then before I could get her to repeat the time orrr get pricing or make sure they could even work on my watch she just hung up on me! I was literally down the street when I called and I went out of my way to drive to Kirkland to get my watch done. This place gets one more star cause sometimes I'll roll in here for a cold drink and they have a good selection. read more

I still don't understand why they have the clothing/apparel section, it must bleed $$ like no other. The parking is VERY tough here nd makes no sense why its so difficult to get in/out.. They really pissed me off. My daughter saved up some money to buy fireworks from them. Turned out they were not fireworks. They were pull pop. She went back for a refund or store credit. Some callous Korean manager told her no. Because she didn't have a receipt. The store clerk tried to speak on our behalf. But the bitch was adamant. I'll just go to Walmart next time. read more

Fred Meyer stores are ripping off their customers. I returned a picture frame purchased by my boyfriend. Everything was in tact - including the sticker price of what we paid for the item. The boyfriend lost the receipt but considering the sticker was still on the item, we didn't think it would be a problem. WE WERE WRONG! I head to the customer service desk and tell them I want to return this item. She asks, do I have the receipt, No. Did I purchase with a rewards card, Yes. What's the number, I give it to her. She punches in the wrong number and tells me she can't find a record of the purchase. She then informs me, store policy is she can only give me the lowest price on the item within the last 90 days...and on store credit. WHAT? This same picture frame is on your store shelves at a price of $49.99. Why would you only give me back half the value on the item you're going to turn around and sell it for at the full price of $49.99. You're steeling my money simply because I don't have receipt? She tells me, "this is our policy and we don't know when you purchased this item." Really? I just told you when I purchased it and told you the value rewards card number it was purchased on.... I realize that, but I can't find the item on your rewards card - I asked her to look again. She asked for the phone number (third time at this point). I then asked for the store manager - who then punched in the phone number and low and behold - found that I had purchased the item at the price I said I did in the timeframe I said I did...and I got all my money back. Imagine that, your customer was telling the truth!! What if this was a gift? What would I have gotten back in that case without a gift reciept and the wrong value rewards card number? Fred Meyer could issue me a refund for the lowest ticketed price within the last 90 days on that item and profit from the remaining money. This is steeling people! I wouldn't be so irate if they had returned all the value of the item onto a gift card - they wouldn't be out any money this way and It would have been an equitable solution to the problem. I'm no longer going to give Fred Meyer my business. I'm team Target all the way! read more

About the only thing in this place's favor is that it's close to apartments on 148th. That's really the only reason anyone would want to come here. It's also probably why they get away with such an awful store. Most people go to Freddie's for groceries, and they barely make a passing grade. They've got... bread... and frozen dinners... and salt. Don't get your hopes up for anything more. The aisles are laid out so confusing that I didn't even find peanut butter or jelly. And if you're a vegetarian, forget trying to find a nice meal. They've got the bare minimum of meat alternatives. What's outside of groceries, you say? You don't wanna know. Don't go there. The non-grocery sections have an unpleasant, deserted feeling. First off, the atmosphere. There's way too much floor space, meaning most of it's empty of customers and thus unpleasantly lonely. The lighting is limited, giving the place a dim and depressing feel. The ceilings are way too high (which makes for a weird soundlessness). The signs are very dated. The whole place feel like the 1990s. The products are awful. Their clothes are extraordinarily tacky - you'd find them cheaper and more stylish at H and M. Their furniture is staid and boring - you'd find them cheaper and more stylish and Ikea. Their selection of books and magazines is limited to the worst of the tabloids - just go to Barnes and Noble. The service is terrible. I was checking out once and had purchased something from the electronics section, but the clerk had the nerve to ask me for the receipt. Really? If I was stealing something do you think I would brandish it in front of you? It really annoys me when staff members don't trust their customers. The inextricable part of it all is that this is fairly close to Microsoft. You'd think with the higher-income clientele they'd have more money to spend on cleaning up the place. Worst pharmacy ever! The absolute worst, they can't do anything correct and wonder if they are pill popping back there. I have had issues with them all this year. They don't call when they don't have prescription and when they say it will be ready it never is...I have waisted so much time waiting..I hate that, they are time crooks, they rob u of time because the whole lot of them are incompetent! They seem to have most of the things I am looking for when I go there but I HATE those yellow sale coupons they have throughout the store. They are such a lost leader unless you are trying to buy a couple bags of socks but most of the time a buy one get one free ends up having so many exclusions that you don't qualify for the sale. I had really bad experience in this Bellevue location. Their store assistants are just horrible along with their store manager Richard. I am customer myself and when I have time I shop for other customers via some Shopper app. Sometimes shoppers cannot find some specific item (stores change aisles , shelfs etc), so I asked for help. Assistant Richard said he has customer and run away (in fact I watched he had no customer at that time). I waited, he returned back - I asked again. He pretended he did not understand the name of item, so I showed him photo in app. He asked if I work as shopper for different customer, I said yes. He told then they have no item I needed. I said Ok and continued to shop. There was big order. I could not find specific product, so I asked other assistant to help. She was willing to help. But somehow this Richard guy showed up and whispered to her ear something (OMG, IN FRONT OF ME) . It was so rude, I asked what is going on? He said they not supposed to help shoppers. I told him that I work behalf of customer and could not find product. I had no time for arguing, so I just shopped myself. And he followed me and watched me to make sure I did not ask help from assistants. It was horrible. I don't know why he was so rude and nasty. I usually have good experience with store assistants. Probably he is racist ( he is white, I am not). I reported this to Shoppers support and they told me that store assistant should help ALL customers ( even if they shop on behalf of other customers). I have been to many Fred Meyers in my life and this one isn't anything special compared to others. I find the Freddy's in Oregon much more clean and classier for sure. This Freddy's is noticably designed for Mircosoft employees and is always jam packet with their contract employees and families. For a quick place to get just about anything, I would say it's a decent place. It has the Starbucks inside which is always a plus. read more

My brother considered this place heaven because of the size of the place, and the amount of variety they have. When I called them to make sure of an item, the person that was looking said no. When I went to go check...there it was. I hope the workers will be a bit more thorough, so minus one star. There is some clothing for men worth looking through for shirts pants and sweatshirts, and even shoes. So it is a little bit all purpose and not really good for any particular section. read more

I love shopping at Freddy's. I don't do it often but what i've bought there in the past is beauty supplies, healthcare, medicine, movies, clothing & food. I have to say the prices for many of the items are overpriced & the clothing is cheap material that falls apart easy, but its still a great store to shop at & has many things. You are always going to find what your looking for there. It does get over crowded & the parking lot is always full, so those are the only two things that seem to be a problem other then price & clothing materials. So yes, im a fan of Fed Meyer's. :) read more

This Fred Meyer is OK on the inside, terrible on the outside. Good selection of groceries here, but prices can be expensive (Buttermilk Pancakes for over $3!?! Root for WinCo!) Good selection of electronics and home items too. If I only reviewed on the inside, I would give it a 3. Did buy some tasty blueberries here (one pint/$2.99). Outside is terrible. This used to be a department store decades ago (I think White Front) and the parking kept the same when Fred Meyer moved in. So, with that, it is crammed and I've gotten a few dents on the car from this. (Other cars not paying close attention!) Worse than the Bothell one, but that one has a problem: Too many people in the parking lot! I always have to park by the Garden area at that location. Rounded up: Inside is somewhat expensive for groceries, etc, outside is crammed for parking. read more

Although I miss not overhearing 4 roommates debate about which orange to buy, the ample parking, thinner crowds, and lower prices of the Wal-Mart is an acceptable tradeoff. read more

This store isn't that nice and yes there are a lot of varieties of people that shop here and the staff isnt friendly BUT if you want cheap groceries go here. They have a good selection of organic, gluten free, vegan groceries for me so I dont have to go spend my whole paycheck at whole foods every week, I only need to go there for more special items Fred Meyer doesn't have. I can buy almost week groceries here for 60 bucks, instead of shelling out 150 plus at Whole foods. read more

I bought a sectional furniture from bellevue Wa fred meyer,it came in 2 pieces a sofa and chaise ,When i came to pick it up the manager mike loaded only 1 piece , when i asked about the other piece he said this is all he has and showed an attitute towards me.He was dismimsive as if i am asking for more. I knew i had to get another piece and he showed frustration toward me . I said i can show him in the store what i purchased. Reluctantly he was willing to come to see and .When he saw it he realized the missign chaise peice and asked me to drive back to the loading dock. At the end he loaded up the missing piece .Right now i am good however i am not happy with Mike and the experience i had with him. read more
