While parking is limited and it does get pretty busy, we were still able to find a spot without too much trouble. This H Mart is definitely smaller compared to other locations, like the Redmond one, but the quality is still really good. I love their fruits and vegetables, and I definitely recommend checking out their packaged foods since they're often on sale. The hot food and produce staff were also really friendly and nice. We ended up picking up a few things, including fresh fish and some frozen meats for a hot pot night. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping by this H Mart. Solid Hmart located in Bellevue, on 108th St NE between Main St and 2nd St NE. It's a bit smaller than some of locations I'm used to, comparable to the one in downtown Seattle, though definitely larger than the one in Ktown in NYC. Walking inside, the fresh produce section is first, then aisles of dry foods, noodles and rice, sauces and condiments, drinks, snacks and candy, refrigerated beverages and foods, frozen foods, meat and seafood in the back, and a section of prepared/packaged food. Easy to pick up a quick dinner for takeout. I grabbed a California roll $7.99(?), some sweet duk $5.99 (rice cake sweets), a curry chicken katsu rice bowl $13.99, and food was fresh. Pretty good selection and reasonably priced for the area, similar to other Hmarts, maybe a tad more than other Asian groceries offering similar products. Adjacent to the grocery, accessible next to the checkout area is a Tous Le Jour Korean bakery, with a wide variety of pastries and breads. They seem to have a partnership going because I've seen them side-by-side in a few different cities now. There is free parking in the lot directly outside the store, no validation needed. Been to this Hmart before, but first time on foot. It had all the things I wanted to pick up, and some were even on sale. We are staying in the downtown Bellevue, WA area for a week, so needed to pick up some ingredients for my mother-in-law so she could plan out some meals. I was limited to what I could carry back, so walked the mile to the store. My daughter had told me that the building and the businesses around it will all be demolished for a new redevelopment called Main Street Place. So by this time next year, this Hmart will most likely be closed. For a small footprint HMart, it has a large variety of product, just not all the brands one might expect. It also carries a lot of non-Korean brands, focusing on other Asian countries as well. It's fruit and vegetable sections were pretty comprehensive...you just didn't have the huge tub of fresh ginger that you could pick over, or the boxes of gift fruit that are typically sold. It did have a live seafood section (lobster, Dungeness crab, clams, and even Tilapia), which I have not seen in a small footprint HMart before. It wasn't too crowded and the checkout line wasn't too long. Strangely I was told that my HMart loyalty barcode wouldn't work here, since it was from California, and that I needed a WA address to get a WA specific loyalty card. I was craving a cream bun and heard about one at H Mart from TikTok and YouTube, so I went there to get it. Sadly, it wasn't available. I asked the staff, and they were helpful, suggesting a similar bun and letting me know when the cream bun might come back. I tried the bun they recommended, but it was just okay. I went to another H Mart, but still couldn't find the cream bun. Later, on a random visit, I learned that it sells out fast. A staff member suggested trying the cream donut instead, which was somewhat similar. The donut had soft bread and was filled with a lot of cream. I boiled the chestnuts as soon as I brought them home from Hmart and was so excited to eat them. They were advertised as a new harvest. But when I opened one, it was rotten. Another one--rotten. This H Mart has so many great options. It's a tight quarters in there but it doesn't disappoint. Everything at the bakery always looks delicious. We grabbed some sushi from the deli and it was pretty good. It was a tad bit fishy but having the sauce packet options made it perfect. I also got the dumplings and they were a bit bland. I wish they had a dipping sauce specific for the dumplings. I'm not sure I'd get those again but I would get the sushi again. read more

While we love the plethora of imported goods available at H Mart, we arrived this afternoon for a quick bite between meals. The foods in the deli looked lovely, so we chose two gimbap - vegetable and bibimbap, as well as a bowl of sweet and spicy fried chicken. Everyone in our party of five loved the chicken (reheated in the microwave) best. The vegetable gimbap was preferable to the beef one, but both were overly cold and tasted somewhat stale. We will definitely come back for other items, and maybe when their deli is open so we can taste the foods freshly prepared. read more

The reason I'm leaving g a review is because when I called the store to report the problem of visible mold on the frozen chow mein noodle, I was quickly told to:"come by, show us pictures and we refund you". Hella busy on weekends. My only complaint is the same one for every Asian food store around: there's way, way too much plastic when you're buying most mushrooms and veggies. I was in Seattle for work and I was craving Korean foods. This store offered a prepared foods section. Some hot and some cold foods were offered. I was surprised and happy to see this. Since I was staying at a hotel the food purchased there was a welcome! It's Seattle so everything was pricey and that didn't throw me off. I was hangry. I went to this hmart looking for pork jowl, found that, and a lot of other great stuff. It was so hard to not grab everything bc I don't live near one. Pork jowl was well cut and very fresh! I paired it with their homemade kimchi radish which I found on the sweeter side and the bean sprout banchan which was sooo good!! Overall, it was clean, things were labeled, and they had food warnings for their raw food like banchan. This is the only Asian store I could find salted egg fish skin and shrimp head between here, 99 ranch, lams Seafood in Tukwila, and Uwajimaya. Overall I had a good experience. Their registers were packed when I went to check out, but they were going as fast as they could. I will definitely be back! read more

HMart in Bellevue is smaller than the Lynnwood location, but it still has most everything you need. I'd say the biggest difference is the size of the home/kitchenware sections - so if you're looking for the korean style plush comforters/bedding and a selection of kitchenware, you'll find more at the Lynnwood HMart. The parking lot is small and shared with PetSmart next door, so it can be a bit tight. The prepared foods near the back of the store are great for grab-and-go meals, offering items like bulgogi rice bowls, fried rice, kimbap, and poke bowls. For checkout, make sure you are standing in one of the two designated checkout lines marked with labels on the ground near the checkout lanes. Overall, a convenient store despite its smaller size. read more

I really want to say this is a 4 stars H Mart, but it's difficult to say that when it's so small! I feel claustrophobic in the store and in the parking lot. I only come here when I really, really don't want to go to Lynnwood and really, really want to shop at H Mart. In general, if I can avoid coming here on the weekend, I do. The place is far too crowded during these COVID days. Having said all that, this mid-size, over-stuffed H Mart has all the typical departments in a normal H Mart. Produce, liquor (lots of it), seafood, frozen foods, pre-made banchan, typical non-perishables, a small hot foods department, a small durable goods department, and even a small Tous Les Jours bakery within the premises. Everything is there but less, less of everything, but enough of most categories to be sufficient even if not necessarily satisfying. When I shop here, I don't dawdle, get in, get out at the shortest possible time; maybe that's what they want their customers to do. read more

I had heard about H Mart back home and was curious since it was "the talk of the town" and since this H Mart was right across the street from our hotel, we decided to drive over since the streets were under construction. I think the shopping site was the former Babys 'R Us and Toys 'R Us as the signs are still there. But H Mart is on the other side and the parking lot is very cramped and narrow so you have to watch out when you back out of your parking space. The store is even more claustrophobic like people say and I was really not that impressed as back home in the SF Bay Area we have a nicer Korean supermarket. I did find a nail clipper, big fly swatter and some shrimp chips, kimbop and sushi to buy here. read more

I've heard a number of people like to shop at this Korean-American supermarket chain, so I had been wanting to check it out but in the end was met with disappointment. It was difficult to even shop in peace. Even though the store itself is a good size, it gave off a claustrophobic feeling with the crowdedness and disorderly arrangements, especially the produce area. Both the produce and meat are priced higher than the other oriental stores. Daikon radish, for example, is priced at $1.29 per pound, whereas Asian Family Market sells for just $0.79 a pound. Similarly pork belly is $5.98/lb and Asian Family Market is $4.49/lb. And honestly, despite the produce signs all saying "Always Fresh", a lot of the vegetables and fruits were definitely far from fresh: mushy tomatoes, blackened nectarines, mold spots on cauliflower, etc. On the bright side, there is a wider variety of Korean ingredients. The store has all the categories one would expect: frozen items, sauces and seasoning, prep ingredients, dry goods, drinks and snacks, and so on. It's convenient if you are in need of certain items and H Mart is the only option. A household section is present as well. Price scanners are located throughout the store for your convenience. Along the side has a counter selling hot foods such as lunch boxes and side dishes. Make sure to check the freshness of these. In my visit some were packed two days ago, and some only had the sell by date printed. A small seating area of a couple tables and chairs is available, although I'm not sure if it is open at this time. A bakery, Tous les Jours, is connected to the grocery store. Its tiny size makes it difficult to browse due to the popularity as there was a line of people blocking off half the baked goods. I was about to browse the individually packaged breads by the entrance, but left after seeing houseflies crawling outside on top. read more

Fresh seafood department (never tried). 2 stars off for the deli today (July 28)...love the chicken katsu (oyako-style) bowl - delish, but once you have eaten the chicken and egg, you have a bowl with flavorless white rice. Bring on MORE SAUCE! Especially for customers taking Togo orders. Also, I asked for tempura sauce for the tempura shrimp( three times - she did not understand what I meant at all!)...all I received was this horrible katsu in a packet. Ick! Also, very packed - many customers were purchasing from the deli only...why wasn't the deli checkout open? Overall - solid...just don't be in a hurry. read more

Again: Beware!! Do NOT buy H-Mart's "Sweet and Sour Chicken." Same crud; this (again) is disgusting, nasty left-over butchered scraps, dried out, hardened bits. These are trashy scraps dredged in thick flour breading, deep fried, then drenched in heavy sweet and sour sauce, to disguise as fake food. Nearly entire serving is old, hard, dried out, could not chew or swallow, and had to spit out. HMart selling butcher scraps to make money. Just disgusting way to treat your customers. Really pains me to write another negative review, but it must be shared for the sake of health. A friend and I went to Hmart to pick up some side dishes and groceries (as you'll note, my last experience didn't deter me from staying away from Hmart, because generally it's a completely fine grocery store for your basics). But when it comes to their house-made items, it's becoming a little problematic. We grabbed a potato salad that they make in the kitchen, and it was expired two days after the "sell by" date. We realized this after we had already started eating it. We went back and told them, and they were shocked and immediately pulled off all the potato salads items off the shelf. Update on my review, proves to show that hmart does not take extra precaution on selling expired food. I actually bought a sauce here last week, was so excited to use it and when I opened it, it was so watery, I told myself it might just be a new recipe or maybe they wanted a new formula , but when I tasted it , it tasted so weird, when I actually saw the date on the sauce, low and behold it was expired and I have proof. Check out my pictures below, so when buying at hmart, please check the date. This place obviously does not do their due diligence in checking the dates of expired food, they were selling expired food that was already expired more than 9 months. The bellevue location is what I call a bodega lol but honestly for not having to make the 30-6o minute drive to either Lynwood or Fed Way, it does just fine I have notified the inventory is much smaller (again makes sense as the market is about a quarter of the larger locations) but, when you've got a hankering for homemade Korean dishes, they've got you. Also the Bellevue location does offer daily marinated short ribs and galbi that the other locations don't offer! read more

Haven't been to H Mart since I was last in NY and I finally came around for a visit. Just at the edge of downtown Bellevue, this location has an okay sized parking lot (people forget how to park correctly within the lines). Internally the store is cramped. It's like a human game of Pac-Man trying to avoid those who are mindless during these times. I've always liked the H Mart chain for their on the go meals. There's a wide variety of quick food to grab here, but most of it is mediocre tasting and borderline bland. Why doesn't my rice taste fresh?? Only upside is that their banchan sides are decent, and prices are cheaper (you get what you pay for). Grocery wise, most of the the Asian/ Korean products are fairly priced. If I lived in downtown area I'd be coming here with ease to get the essentials. For now I'd choose Uwajimaya or even Asian Family Market, both of which are larger and have more variety. read more

The smallest one was in SEATTLE, but that was supe quaint and actually felt like a Nice Asian Super market. something about this one is off. This place has gone downhill. We were waiting in line and when it's our turn the cashier scolded us because she said we were not in the right place to wait in line. You saw us waiting all this time but didn't say shit till now? At this point she's just trying to fuck with us. She saw me with a limp too because I injured my foot. I've come here a few days in a row to pick up lunch. I'm on a mission to try as many lunch bentos as possible before our office moves out of downtown Bellevue. My favorites have been the bulgogi beef/japchae over rice and the kalbi beef with rice. I want to try to salmon don and the udon at some point. The chicken katsudon was pretty good, but needed more sauce with the rice. It's never super crowded and there's ample seating if you want to sit and eat. This Asian market has been my go-to spot for all my cooking essentials since moving in the neighborhood. There's a great variety of your favorite Asian goods from snacks, meats, sauces, pantry items, produce, utensils, etc. But I was a bit surprised that they didn't carry a specific popular Asian rice brand here and a black bean sauce. On a busy weekend, it can be a little hard to shop because of the amount of people there..make sure you're not just standing in the middle of the aisle in someone's way haha. The store is a bit small and it's hard to navigate your cart through the aisles. Other people standing in the aisle shopping will block most of the walkway for you to get through. However they will still have most things (if not everything) that you're looking for. They have grab-and-go and ready to eat food like sushi and beef/poke bowls which were pretty cheap! I'm not sure about the quality or how long they've been sitting out but if you're looking for something quick that is pretty healthy and not expensive they might be worth a look. This was my first time, and I'm used to relaxed and welcoming cashiers most of the time with the store on 116th. When I came here, I encountered impatient customers. It was unbelievable. Then at the end, I hear someone yelling " Next" like three times. The lines to pay could be more straightforward. Anyways I came, and I had to say hi to this woman. She did not say hello, or did you find everything you needed? Nothing. She barks at me again and asks me if I need bags. I told her, " No, thank you. I have two bags". Again she barks and tells me, " Give them to me." For heaven's sake, she needs to be at the back taking out boxes or stocking shelves. In no way should she be allowed with customers.
