I love Hmart. I come here almost every week for the vegetable and seafood. They are fresh, various, and quite cheap compared to Uwajimaya. I cook Thai food and they have so many veggies that I can use. The seafood is comparable to Uwajimaya but cheaper. I always get shrimp, squid, salmon and trout here. They also have a lot of meat and chicken choices. The meat here look better than Jing Jing or Asian Family Supermarkets. They have many different beautiful cut pork and beef for shabu-shabu or Korean BBQ. However, most of products here are mainly Korean products. I still need to get seasonings, sauces, dried noodle and many others items from Jing Jing. They have more Thailand/Chinese products there. For example certain soy sauces, oysters sauce, meat balls, dried herbs, and Vietnamese sausage. Overall, I am very happy with the selection, price, and quantity of the food here. Don't miss the fresh mango. They always have fresh sweet mango almost all year round. The price is unbelievable cheap for the Eastside. I paid $10 for 15-18 small yellow mangoes!!!! The best part of this store is their fruits and veggies. I always see something new every time I go to the store. Parking lots are tough sometimes and tight spaces. I enjoy shopping groceries at H mart but isles are small and cannot go through other cart. So better take a small cart or basket. A very small Hmart where you will find pretty much the essentials. I buy my Korean spices, produce and meats here for at home Korean bbq. I love beef tongue but really hate that the precut beef tongue slices don't trim the hairy outer layer/hairy skin from the slices. I don't recommend buying it since it's very expensive and improperly trimmed. This wasn't a one off, but consistent. read more

While the store is still small by H Mart standards, I am upping to 4 stars because they have what I am looking for at a good price. I shop at this H Mart weekly for fresh produce. Primarily for their Asian veggies like baby bok choy and yu choy as well as staples like green onions and spinach. It is comparable to the prices or cheaper than in the I-District, though the selection is smaller. Sometimes the quality isn't so good, but still acceptable. But shopping here saves me a trip across the water. As for grocery products, this is the main store I buy blocks of tofu since they have it on sale often for $1. They also have had some good deals recently on meat like packs of sliced pork butt for $2.48/lb. which is good for Korean barbecue. I would suggest checking their Facebook page weekly as they post their flyer specials on it. I have also tried some of their deli items. Occasionally, I pick up a container of fresh soup here like their kimchi stew as a starter and mixing in other items to make it a meal. Like Uwajimaya, H Mart also marks down their hot foods in the evening. 30% off discount here instead of a dollar amount. I thought they started doing this at 6 pm, but when I shopped here today at around that time, everything was still regular price. Maybe the staff hadn't gotten to putting the stickers on yet. I was a periodic shopper here when they first opened, but their flyer specials and produce pricing has made me a regular here on the weekends. It's a little crazy sometimes and I have walked out at least once because the cashier line was too slow, but I keep coming back because it's a good spot to get salmon sashimi and sometimes other food (like miso soup, udon soup, salad, etc.) The other issues I've had: - The prepared food area frequently has issues or isn't totally available. Sometimes it looks like they change their mind about how to do something and sometimes they say their equipment is broken that day. - The sea urchin I got one time had too many... shell or something?... bits. I want to give H Mart minus 1000 stars. I purchased SEWEET TAMARIND Friday, June 1, 2018. I ate 1/3 of it, and I found dead bug and eggs. I throw up after I saw it. I looked at the Box and it requires "keep it refrigerated" but these items were not in refrigerator. It was on the shelves with regular snacks. I went to the store, and the cashier refund it. I asked to see a manager and I asked to stop selling items ASAP since it supposed to be refrigerated. The cashier said "no manager on duty" and there is nothing they can do. I asked to cashier then call to manager. The cashier told me that manager did not answer the phone. They do not even move items from the shelves. They even ask my phone numbers or anything. "Unbelievable" I got so upset and left the H Mart. No more H Mart for me. I still feel like throw up. read more

We all know this parking lot kinda sux, but the store is pretty good! Came by here during the week when running some errands in Bellevue. Wanted some lunch, so I decided to hit up their hot food section/deli and see what they got. Nice looking selection of hot & cold items to choose from. I decided to get the chicken katsu and a small bowl of seaweed salad from the deli. Tasted pretty good, seemed fresh and also affordable for a quick lunch. Wasnt too busy inside, so I decided to have my lunch at their little food court table area and reflect on how I can get cheaper cable tv. Walked around the store and noticed they have good selection of rice cakes! I go mad for those! Overall...I liked the store, prices seemed reasonable, staff was friendly. SO DISGUSTING！ I went to H mart Bellevue store today and bought a box of salmon，When I opened it I found a lot of huge visible parasites in which part was covered by a price tag，and it was so DISGUSTING！The scariest part was they did it on purpose ，Because the only piece of fish infested with parasites was hidden just below the price tag. So I called bellevue store，a Korean woman who answered the phone told me there was nothing she could do cause the manager's absence, not even a word of Sorry. So I drove to the H mart store in DT Seattle, and the Korean people told me they were different owners from Bellevue store, so they didn't care what happened and storngly suggested we calling the police. H Mart was my staple grocery store back at home so it was nice finding one so close to work. The store is a lot smaller than its cousins and in turn offer a smaller selection of produce, meats, and packaged foods. It still has the charm of a Korean supermarket and all the essentials I need and crave. The interior is clean and brightly lit, produce is well kept and all the aisles are neatly arranged. The vegetables and fruit are for the most part fresh, though I was disappointed in the selection of lychee they offered. Their prices are actually a lot better than the neighboring grocery chains so I end up buying most my produce here. All the Asian veggies and fruit are here which is great. The meat department could be a little better. They don't have a lot of the western cuts of meat available, and I end up having to go to Safeway to buy my meat. The meat they do have is a bit pricey and my wallet hurt a little when I was trying to grill up some KBBQ. In terms of shelf items, I found everything I needed. Actually scratch that, they didn't have any honey butter chips to my disappointment. How can you be a Korean supermarket without honey butter chips!? I know the hype died down from a couple years back but I still crave them every once in a while. This H Mart surprisingly fit a Mozart bakery inside which is pretty nice. As much as I don't like to venture out to the Eastside, I was excited that H Mart opened up in Bellevue. Finally, I don't have to stock up when I make those occasional trips to the H marts in Lynnwood or Federal Way! Location wise, it's a walk away from the Bellevue Transit Center which is nice for those who commute by bus. Since I don't live in Bellevue, I think its great that they chose to be in the downtown area so it's really convenient that I can get all my shopping done in one area. H Mart was a lot smaller than I anticipated. During my first visit, the salad bar was not set up but is now stocked with various banchan to pack. The bakery section is currently under construction so I can't wait for that to finish. Aisles are also cramped and I prefer to not use a cart if I can do without it. In terms of selection, its not as varied as the other H Marts. Fresh meats section is pretty limited, where you'll just find cuts of beef for hot pot, "kobe" beef and a variety of pork cuts (well at least the last few times I have been here). There's a brand of dumplings I like to get (CJ's) but its a hit or miss when it comes to finding it in stock in the frozen section. Product section seems ok but I probably will stick to my usual produce stand in Pike Place Market, unless if its something like dragon fruit. What I love about this H Mart is their deli area. Their nigiri is way better than other grocery store sushi you'll find and at a reasonable price. I also like their vegetable bibimbap. They do have a menu where you can order other dishes ranging from sashimi bowls to hot food but I don't think its fully launched yet. The place is still working out some kinks but I can see myself making frequent trips to Bellevue to stock up on necessities such as kimchi, dumplings, noodles and sauces. read more

Here is my captain obvious comment, this is primarily a Korean market. I came in searching for items to make Thai food. I knew they would have most of them. Light and sweet soy, fish sauce, palm sugar (bottom row in the sugar section). I was hoping that they would have a fresh wide rice noodle for pad se ew, but they did not. They do have green papaya, they weren't as good looking as what I normally find in the Bay Area. If I lived locally, I would shop here on a regular basis. What did I learn today? Hmart is a chain that my family frequents fairly often, especially now that we're stuck in quarantine and sometimes want nice, quick options to change up our day. There's no doubt that this particular branch is very crowded in space, but generally things are clean and the selection is usually nice. Prices are reasonable too. Our usual picks are imported snacks, frozen treats, Murasaki sweet potatoes (sounds weird, but we've always gotten the best potatoes here), seasonal fruit, and stuff from the hot bar. Their kimbap is well priced, filling, and tasty - our nine month old son loves chowing down on them for a nice lunch. read more

Okay, so this H Mart is definitely smaller than a lot of the other H Mart locations but it still packs a big Korean punch. If you're in the Bellevue area and need any Korean ingredients, this is the place to go. All of the basics can be found here and many other items as well. They not only have Korean ingredients but you'll be able to find a lot of staples from other countries as well. The snack section has my favorite sesame cookies and peanut cluster crunch snack that I like so I will usually pick up one of them and take them home. There are a few snacks that I did not see but they were more of snacks on the fringe. The Banchan section has all the different kinds of Banchan you might possibly want. They had the same stuff as the other stores so you won't leave disappointed. They also have kimchi but I prefer to buy my kimchi at Mommy's Banchan. The household section is also much smaller than the other stores as is the hot food section. At the other stores there are also several places to get food and here the only outside business is sKorean Bakery chain, Tous Les Jours. Make sure to stop in and get some baked goods before leaving. If you're looking to make your own bibimbop or some other korean dishes, check out the refrigerated section by the hot foods area. They have pre-made packs of fresh ingredients for you to do it yourself at home. What could be easier? The quality of the veggies and fruits is always fresh from what I have seen. I have also never had any problem with the meats and seafood I have bought. I like the pre-marinated meats they have for BBQ. Staff at the counters are always polite. Sometimes in the front of the store by the register they have fresh duk. It's hit or miss as far as the selection. If you've never been here it's worth a trip to check out the korean products. read more

I love coming here -- better than the one in Lynnwood! I have to give props to Lynnwood for having a variety of a food court there. I can actually find stuff here than at the Lynnwood location; cold noodles, the little yogurt drinks, snacks, baked goods and the best part, the deli section! Their poke is great, I love their unagi bowls. And they're the only place I know that sells those wheat cakes -- they're $5.99 so a bit expensive for 4 in 1 bag but to me, it's so worth it! My favorite is the chocolate. I haven't been to their bakery since coming here so that's another place I will have to visit within the store. The parking lot is much better here than Uwajimaya for sure. read more

Great fun place for Southeast Asian and Korean food in Bellevue. I used to go here all the time when I lived across the street in Bellevue. The parking lot can be crazy and store is chaotic sometimes, but there's nowhere better around. The staff is helpful and they let me pay with credit when it's only like $5. The store is clean and stocked well. The seafood and meat areas look fine although I've never bought anything there There's a great little French Cafe there called Tous Les Jours. They have some great little macaroons. Still the best around! Great selection in such a tiny place. Tons of bakery items and it feels more like NY or Paris. Overall great local stop and food store. H Mart is a Korean grocer, located in the shopping centre by PetSmart and Tully's in Downtown Bellevue. I'm not one to cook or know much about Korean cuisine, so I only come here to check out the hot food items. If you go after 6PM, the deli items are 30% off, which is nice. And quite honestly - it's the only time I'd really buy any of the deli items. There hasn't been anything here that I've tried that I had to have again. The food is simply, just fine. I've had the beef bulgogi and spicy pork bowls which is served over white rice or japchae, and there is hardly any meat, as most of the bowls are filled with sides. But the meat isn't the greatest either, as oftentimes, it tastes dry, as if it's been sitting under a heat lamp all day. The poke bowl is not the best, as the cuts of fish are super tiny and again, the portion is small. The bowl is mostly filled with rice. I do think the sushi rolls are better though. And they have fresh kimchi in containers for on the go, which is great because who doesn't love kimchi on the side of your rice? For dining inside, there is a small dining area where the deli is located. So, when I come to H Mart, it's always a trial and error kind of situation with the deli items. I've found items I wouldn't mind having again and some I'd avoid. Overall, it's not my first choice for Asian takeout, but if I'm in the neighboring businesses it's worth checking out. read more

The Bellevue H Mart is definitely one of the fancier ones in WA. They have a decent prepared food section, clean fresh seafood area, and a diverse selection of produce. I have been to my fair share of H Marts throughout North America, from Edison NJ to Manhattan to LA to Vancouver, thus my review might be a little clouded from having experienced the massive, well-stocked behemoths in the Korean enclaves of Fort Lee NJ, Flushing NY and Koreatown Los Angeles. While not the smallest H Mart out there (that award goes to Manhattan), Bellevue's location still falls behind the average H Mart. For me, the most notable items they lack are: 1. Watercress 2. Sashimi (oh how I miss the $6.99 uni at Fort Lee and Flushing). They only had salmon and fish roe when I looked 3. Meat selection and cuts 4. Variety of Korean drinks and snacks. I need my walnut cake () and banana milk fix! 5. Cold noodles/naengmyun (). I know this is a smaller H-Mart compared to the ones in Lynnwood or Federal Way, but I still dig my H-Mart because I am not going to either Lynnwood or Federal Way just to shop in a bigger store. This is located in a little shopping center off Main street where the Tully's Coffee is, next to Petsmart. They have all the basics that I need in a Korean supermarket, but then again I just get the basics of an Asian market versus a Korean supermarket so there might be some items that I may or may not know about that Koreans are more specific on. H-Mart carries my favorite vegetarian frozen potstickers, for $6 this has lasted me for many, many meals. After a certain time of the day, they mark their packaged meals for cheaper because otherwise it would go to wasteland. Oh yeah, it's opened every single day of the year no matter what holidays at normal hours which is 8am-9:30pm. read more

I'm so glad to have found this place. It's around the corner from my massage therapist so very convenient. Definitely better than having to drive to Lynnwood from Redmond. It's a smaller version of the one up north but they sure pack in a lot into a small space. They share the same parking lot as PetSmart and Office Depot so parking may not be available some times. Be patient and someone is sure to leave soon. Fruits and vegetables in the front then your refrigerated items the back then the seafood counter. Fish, shrimp, oysters, clams and mussels are all available there. In between are the dried goods such as sauces and instand noodles. It's an Asian store so lots and lots of instant noodles. Hmmm packet full of MSG. Then the new discovery is the lunch counter/deli with bento box, curry rice, and also sushi items. Average price for the lunches. I grabbed the chicken curry and that wasn't too bad. I wished there was more curry sauce to go with all that rice though. Oh I didn't find fresh kimchi up front with the others but instead next to the deli. That's the good stuff. I like them because I think they are also slightly cheaper then Uwajimaya so this is my go to Asian grocery store right now. Stopped by to pick up some produce and even though it's a much smaller store than their Lynnwood location, I was extremely impressed by their deli selection. Not just the run of the mill Japanese/Korean deli stuff. Sashimi donburi, seared salmon salad, chicken katsu, Korean pancakes, gyoza, assorted wild vegetables, seaweed soup, kimchi stew, seasoned bean sprouts, stewed seaweed/soybean curd, boiled pork feet slices, seasoned tofu, seasoned eggplant, seasoned beef eye of round, stir fried wild aster, seasoned boiled eggs with soy sauce. In their hot section: shrimp tempura, seaweed rolls, udon soup. Freezer section: individually wrapped mochi ice cream. Small seating area which was nice and clean. We were very impressed by this Korean grocery store (they sell most Asian items but with an obvious emphasis on Korean goods). The variety of products is good. It is a big enough store that you can do general grocery shopping easily. Some of the produce looks a little past it's prime, but I am used to that with most Asian grocery stores. And I'm ok with that for the most part as I believe most American stores tend to throw out older items a bit too aggressively. Since a lot of produce ends up in the trash and not in people's mouths, it is a big drain on the environment. But enough with the eco lecture. If you aren't into overripe bananas, be careful with picking your produce out. They do have a beautiful selection of fish, which again seems pretty typical of Asian markets. Take out food section was awesome! We walked away with a huge sashimi salad that fed both of us for $11. It was super fresh too. Finally, customer service is excellent. The cashier rung up one of my items for a ridiculous amount of money. I didn't catch the error until I was all the way back home. When I returned to the store, they were very apologetic, completely credited me back the money and let me keep the item for free. read more
