3 star for asian market in Bellevue. 1 star for typical asian parking lot. The lot is small and the angled parking gets less angled as you go down the lane! The market is small but it has most asian essentials, esp Korean :) i picked up a California roll for $5. It was good, but please look at the type of sushi you have. Someone mixed up tuna roll in the tray (I ain't complaining haha) but those who don't eat raw, should know this. They have a bakery in process and if it's as good as other Hmarts, you will be happy ! read more

Stopped by to pick up some produce and even though it's a much smaller store than their Lynnwood location, I was extremely impressed by their deli selection. Not just the run of the mill Japanese/Korean deli stuff. Sashimi donburi, seared salmon salad, chicken katsu, Korean pancakes, gyoza, assorted wild vegetables, seaweed soup, kimchi stew, seasoned bean sprouts, stewed seaweed/soybean curd, boiled pork feet slices, seasoned tofu, seasoned eggplant, seasoned beef eye of round, stir fried wild aster, seasoned boiled eggs with soy sauce. In their hot section: shrimp tempura, seaweed rolls, udon soup. Freezer section: individually wrapped mochi ice cream. Small seating area which was nice and clean. I will definitely be back to grab some ready to go snacks! read more

Any place that sets my photo as their main image is a 5 star place in my book. Find all my Korean and non Korean needs here. They have the snack selection, ramen selection, sumo oranges, cheap green onion, tasty quick cook refrigerated items, and now with marinated goodies for you to grab and cook up quickly at home with that fresh korean flavor. All the kimchi items are on point. Wrap everything in lettuce and nom on. read more

I love the convenience and the prices at Hmart. Every time I go to Hmart, grab and go section is fully loaded and the chefs are always pumping out the fresh trays of food. The prices are pretty reasonable as I paid 8.99 for salmon donburi amd 7.99 for chicken egg donburi read more

I really like this place. For as small as they are, they have A TON of great stuff. Even a bakery with very delicious treats! My daughter and I come here every Saturday and grab all our favorite foods and drinks-the chicken mayo bowl, kimchi stew, apple pie from the bakery, and various Asian type drinks. It's great! read more

They often discounted ready to eat food by the end of the day (30% off). Good sized and pretty well stocked store. It's clean and bright. even the seafood department doesn't smell funky. They have good variety for seafood and alcohol too. The noodle and snack section are dangerous, don't browse without willpower. Fresh produce seems in good quality, nothing ever rotten. read more

This market is an alternative to Uwajimaya. They carry some items that the other market does not have. Prices are a bit lower, but I like the quality of seafood and meat at Uwajimaya better. Interesting selection of Korean food!! Funny to see a cheese selection, but then they have a wine selection, so maybe for food and cheese pairing? Love the bakery they have near the entrance of the store, Tous Les Jours bakery. read more

A great Asian grocery store in the suburbs. It's clean and affordable. A good place to get Asian products

Yay for Asian Grocery Stores and all of their little perks! While this H-Mart is a little smaller than other H-Marts I've been to in Colorado and Washington, this one still has the majority of your Asian food needs. Unlike some Asian markets, this H-Mart seems to keep good tabs on the quality and expiration dates of its ingredients. When I double check the products to make sure I don't buy anything expired, I've never come across an expired product so far at this H-Mart. The produce section has lots of fruits and veggies to choose from. The meat and seafood sections also have a decent amount of options to choose from. There are lots of pre-prepared foods that you can purchase (seaweed soup, soondubu, etc.). This is an especially great option for me because I'm a lazy cook. I'm a little disappointed that they don't have more banchan options, but the ones they do have are fairly good. Also, they do have some foods from other Asian countries there as well. It's really nice to be able to pick up some Chinese goodies in H-Mart. There is a little bakery located right on the inside of H-Mart. Their breads are always fresh and pretty good. The keep fairly well also, as long as you refrigerate them and heat them up appropriately. The price is decent as well. However, if you go too late in the day, a lot of the bread may be gone because other customers have purchased it. It is honestly really hard not to spend too much money at H-Mart with all the possible temptations. Although small, this H-Mart is as good as any other. read more

This location is so much smaller than the Lynnwood location but they have pretty good selection of items. I used to work a few blocks away so I would come here for a little grocery or get their quick-grab food. I used to get their Kimchi Fried Rice, Kalbi bowl or Chicken Katsu bowl. Their sushi with spicy sauce was burning hot for my mouth. For grocery I love Korean snacks like the Corn Chee cheese covered corn puff, Caramel Maple corn puff, Honey Milk potato chips, and Orion spicy cuttlefish peanut balls, and last but not least, the popular Samyang Ramen in curry or hot chicken flavor (caution: this ramen is super duper hot). read more

This little Korean market is Bellevue is smaller than some other locations BUT it has a nice bakery to grab a snack and it has some bomb diggity doshiraks (to-go lunches). They definitely cater to their downtown bellevue professionals audience and right around lunchtime start churning out a variety of delicious lunches in large quantities. I'll highlight some of my favorites: The salmon bowl. It's just a bunch of salmon sashimi on top of rice. It's amazing. Also, their curry katsu rice bowl. They also have udon bowls that you just add hot water to finish cooking. Bulgogi, gyoza, tempura zucchini, ddukbokki, rice bowls with salmon teriyaki and other varieties of meats, IT GOES ON AND ON. They're great portions but don't expect to eat there - the seating area is minuscule. Grab your Korean lunch and eat it proudly with some kimchi in your office. Your coworkers might resent you but your stomach won't!! read more

I stop here once or twice a week after work. The parking is easy, and even if the lines are all the way back into the aisles, the check out is quick. This store is TINY, so the check out line literally goes into the aisles if there are more than 3 people in line. For how tiny it is though, they have a lot of variety. The produce section is large and good quality for good prices. I love the deli area and always pick out something there (even though it seems a tad on the pricier side, it's so yummy and convenient.) They also have a solid seafood section in the back. The middle aisles have a good variety, but I think is lacking. I love looking at the Korean/etc specialty items that you don't see in Safeway or wherever, but there isn't much variety here. The frozen section is also a little lacking. There are 3 center (very long) aisles and they mainly consist of tons of types of flour, tons of types of ramen, tons of types of soy sauce(and other asian sauces) and tons of types of seaweed. Plus an American section that I think is wasting space. The thing I hate about this store is that they are constantly stocking the shelves. Maybe since it's so small they can't help it, but it is so hard to get around. The aisles are already hardly big enough for two people to walk down, and then to make it worse there are always giant piles of boxes to be unloaded. The aisles should seriously be one way only. There's also constantly 10+ stockers working and they add to the difficulty in movement. I sound whiny but you'll know what I mean when you go in. I'll be back tomorrow and will look for you. read more

I had an awful experience here. First off, I call at 6 pm and tell them I want to eat in deli, and ask what time deli closes...9 pm he says. Great! I arrive 7 pm, buy some deli food, but am told I cannot sit in deli area...WHAT?! I sit there anyway to eat my dinner, but feel like I am doing something illegal. Terrible, terrible customer service!! Then I want to recycle my 2 plastic containers, and all they offer is 1 garbage can?! I took my containers home to recycle them. How can a business that sells all their deli food in plastic containers not offer plastic recycling? This place is trying to kill our environment. I will never step foot in an H Store again! read more

H Mart is the Korean equivalent of Uwajimaya. This store however is very small compared to the others in the Seattle area. The parking lot can get a little hectic too, expect confusion due to the one way lanes. The small store is jam packed with groceries that you can typically expect within a korean/asian grocery store. The thing that I like the most is that they had a wide variety of meat/fish that seemed fresh. However they didn't have a butcher area, all their meat was ready packaged. You can't choose or customize what you want. I heard that they will also sell marinated meats like bulgogi or kalbi but that wasn't ready yet they said. I found their selection of Kimchi kind of on the weak side too. They don't allow you to pack how much you want like they do at south gate grocery store and it doesn't seem like they make their kimchi in house. This grocery store is a much needed addition to the Bellevue area, you can get such good groceries now that you don't really need to go anywhere else. All Bellevue needs now is the addition of a Ranch 99... DON'T USE A CART during their busy times, you'll regret it. read more

IMPORTANT INFORMATION! MUST READ! I have been buying goods from hmart for almost a year for my restaurant. Just 3 days ago i found a horrible truth. They always put MORE price tags on items and when we check out they scan them all. Which is double priced! I bough 3 box of meat and they scan 5 price tags! I told them and they were like: sorry sorry i will rescan it again. Honestly i dont even want to think about how much money they did steal from my pocket! Check your receive carefully before leave! read more

I love this place. They have the best reasonably priced Asian vegetables I've seen since moving here last month. Their bibimbap, and tteok-bokki is delicious at the deli section. I was really excited about the opening of a new asian marketplace near my home. I've been about 6 times and it's a huge disappointment :( Everything is really low quality.. we purchased something today and came home and noticed it had been expired for 5 days. The produce is not fresh.. we purchased avocado and it was entirely brown on the inside. The place may be cheaper than Uwajimaya but you really get what you pay for. The people here are pretty rude as well. gamsahabnida, but no thanks! read more

If you live locally and just need a few Korean staples, then this is the H Mart for you. If you want a wide selection of foods and a broad range of Asian products, then you need to head to Federal Way or Lynnwood. This store is TINY - and it shows in the selection of everything - produce, meats, frozen meats, seafood, ban chan, etc. The deli salad bar is a nice touch, but I honestly wouldn't want most of the foods that have been sitting around all day uncovered. The packaged ban chan selection is a fraction of what you'd find at a bigger H Mart and didn't even look very good. I had a hard time finding good quality produce, and I completely gave up on red leaf lettuce, because they had none. They also did not have sale prices clearly marked, which I didn't realize until I paid at the register. Be warned that the parking lot is also a nightmare. The flow in and out of the lot is terrible. The parking spaces are very small - both in width and length. While walking into the store, I saw an SUV that had scraped the neighboring car, so a police officer was there refereeing between the two drivers. But because it's still H Mart, I can't give it merely one star. I agree with the Yelp two star description, "Meh. I've experienced better." read more

I was very excited to find out H-Mart opened a location in Bellevue and so close to my work place. However, my excitement was short live when I finally got to the store...It was tiny and extremely congested! If you want a wide selection of foods and kimchi then Federal Way or Lynnwood is still your best bet. First of all, I made the mistake of coming in on a Saturday afternoon and parking was a nightmare! Coming in and out of the parking lot was not an easy task, parking spaces are very tight and all the lanes are very narrow as well. Inside the store, everything was nice and clean however I soon realized all the isles are very small! The space is barely enough for one shopping cart to go through, definitely a hazard if there were a fire. Their meat and seafood selections is nothing compare to Uwajimaya. Although they have a deli section, I was very disappointed with their kimchi and banchan selections which was my main reason for coming here. Upon leaving the store, a clerk asked for my receipt and hand me a large frying pan without saying anything. I'm assuming as a grand opening gift if you spent over a certain amount you will get something. read more

Three stars because sometimes I need my kimchi and pork belly and can't be bothered to drive to the H Mart in Federal Way or Lynnwood. This location is new and clean but lacks in quality in some regards when compared to the former mentioned stores. The vegetable section seems to never have fresh lettuce, and their deli/food court section is significantly smaller. The smaller size of their kitchen might account for the cost of the banchan they sell, I hope, because the 20$ sticker on the small tray of veggies are just scraps when compared to the 7$ or so tub of veggies you can find in Federal Way. Aisles are also tight, making it difficult to maneuver your cart throughout the store when it's busy. The pastry store also requires you to spend a minimum of 5$ before you can use your credit card to purchase anything. It's convenient; only reason I'd come to this location. read more

Miniature version of their markets up north and south. Very clean & tidy with a fully staffed crew. Decent prices and a convenient location for the downtown crowd. Go to Uwajimaya if you want big-store selection, but come here for the sliced meats/seafood, kimchi, etc H-mart is known for. From that you pretty much know what to expect, but it's a nice addition to the eastside nonetheless. read more

The best thing about this H-Mart location is the prepared food/deli. Working in downtown Bellevue, while there is quite the selection of food, there is not much selection for Asian fast-food. When I forget to bring a lunch or only have a short time to grab something, I'll take a quick walk to H-Mart. My fave is definitely the Poke bowl - it's about 2lbs, with a generous portion of protein (salmon and tune poke), imitation crab salad, seaweed salad, and ginger. Oh, and a generous helping of rice. TBH, I don't even eat the rice - the meats/veggies are filling enough and all for 8.99 is a steal. Their hot foods (potstickers, donburis) are also fairly inexpensive and pretty tasty. If you're looking for a quick and quality lunch, this is the place! read more

It is cheap and price is always lower than Uwajimaya. The entire store is very small and crowded with a typical mild stinky smell. All aisles are very narrow so they can't accommodate two shopping carts going through side by side. If you think Kirkland Metropolitan Market is small this one is worse as they pile up the merchandise high in a dim store. Produce are standard but I saw some vegetables are way too cold in the fridge so it has iced surface. Seafood section is very small. Meat is quite low quality. Deli food looks ok although the store is brand new. The food looked so dried as if they have been out under heat lamp for hours. I don't mind coming back for standard Asian grocery such as all sauces and tofu since they are from the same suppliers regardless of wherever I buy. Absolutely NO for the rest of the fresh food. read more

A nice little grocery store in a good location. Many more places like this exist, but I will never take that fact for granted. H Mart is fairly typical of Korean supermarkets. I do wish that this place were bigger, although it seems to also include a French bakery with some sweet (and expensive) options. I'm glad that this store is here at all, but I know that it could do better. This location has only been open for a few months, so maybe we'll see some improvement. read more

This location isn't huge, but it is convenient. It's walking distance from my workplace and gym, so it's hard not to go. I always pick up curry here. It's way cheaper than trying to buy it from a safeway or qfc. Plus, I was looking for a specialty item, and the cashiers were very helpful. On the downside, there always appears to be very few people working when I arrive. Looking for something always takes a while, because you have to wait for a cashier to get a moment so you can ask for help. Also, as someone trying to eat organic, the selection is a little limited. This may be due to the timing, but it's something I've noticed. All in all, it gets the job done for me. read more

I had never heard of this store before, let alone been in their other locations, so I can't compare this site to other H Marts. But today I had time to kill in the area and fell into this place, and was surprised to find an Asian grocery store here! A few thoughts about this store: -unlike others, I had no problem parking in the parking lot here, nor did I see any "crazy" drivers or strangely parked cars. -the store is small yet deep and jam-packed with merchandise on every shelf. It reminded me of depanneurs back home in Montreal (small grocery stores, family-owned, often opened late, packed to the gills with foods, narrow aisles, usually higher priced items than the mainstream grocery stores but stalking more specialty items). -the produce department was the most impressive with nice displays of Asian fruits and veggies (and some more mainstream fare as well). Well stocked and well laid-out. -lots of shelves of condiments and sauces and Asian cans and candies. I've seen most of this fare at Uwajimaya. -decent wine/alcohol section. Super-small household section. VERY nice bakery (man, it smelled good!). Nice deli and meat/fish section. If I lived nearby, I'd come here for produce mostly, and definitely for the Asian bakery goods, but I'd do the bulk of my shopping at Uwajimaya where the selection is far larger of all foods and, from what I took note of today, the prices are better, too. read more

Bought bean sprouts from them today. Not fresh at all. Stinks when open. End up threw away the whole bad.

Bellvue's newest Asian addition is amazing! I'm starting to get jealous living in Seattle while all the nicer Asian marts are developing eastside. What sets this one apart, aside from being in Bellevue, from H-Mart in Lynnwood is it's kimchi bar, food bar, and spiffy appearance. Now I'm a gal who knows and loves all things Korean, and to have a buffet bar of various kimchi, soups, and best of all kimbap on hand is a huge hallelujah!! The isles are small but I found more variety in it's offers than Lynnwoods. While I wouldn't ever buy staples here, they seem to jack up the price, you'll find plenty of your Korean basics for a fair price. read more

The only Korean grocery store that's within 20 miles of my place so I am glad that it has opened in Bellevue. However, it is a little too small for my liking. They didn't have Sundae, the signature Koreans sausages?! Since the place was small, things looked cluttered. They would pile snack trays on top of each other in a limited amount of space. The aisles are so narrow that they should have a One Way Only sign hanging around! They do have most of what Korean grocery stores would have, Korean cold noodles, spicy paste, tofu, dried seafood, fish cakes, KIMCHI etc, just not in great variety. I only saw a small fridge with limited marinated meat that are in about 12 oz plastic cups? They have a pretty big liquor/wine section in the back, right in front of the frozen meat section. Weird placement? Hopefully this place will get better with time. They did have many customers which means they are popular! Will come back when craving for Korean food. read more

I was delighted when I heard H-mart was coming to Bellevue. No longer would I need to drive over to Lynnwood or Federal Way for my H-mart needs. It's H-mart, but due to limitations of space inside the building and parking lot, it's definitely a different experience than the two other locations. It's super crowded due to the small layout. Their assortment for snacks is a roulette depending on which week. One week, you'll find your favorite peanut crackers, then next week it's replaced with some misc. other item which can be annoying. The deli is great with an assortment of yummy ready to-go Korean sides and dishes. My one constructive point to the staff at the deli: Have everybody learn to use the cash register. Whenever I go there, only one of 9 people seem to know how to use the register. I always get shot a bit of annoyance from the other food staff when I casually wait to get checked out. I even had a young man (who wasn't doing anythinn at the time) tell me to use the registers at the front of the store - a big no-no with customer service! Over all: convenient for proximity of an H-mart, but different. Call it: H-mart Light. read more

The produce and products are very good. This is why I gave them 2 stars and would have gladly given them more except I was singled out. That ruined the experience for me. As I was checking out, one of the cashiers asked me to swipe my card or enter a chip. I told her that I didn't have a chip and started to swipe. She took the card from me and asked to see my ID. I showed her. She looked at it for 10 seconds and then said "is this your card?" I said, "yes." She looks at my card again, says "sorry for the inconvenience", pulls out her reading glasses from her pocket and tells me that the name on card and ID must match. It did. "Oh, it matches." She hands it back and I swipe. This struck me as odd and I ask the cashier if she asks that of everyone. She ignores me, so I ask again and then she says "what?". I again ask her if she asks this of everyone. She says, "Oh, it's because you're new. That's why I ask." Holding in frustration, I take my groceries and say have a nice day. This is a public shopping center. Does she really know everyone who comes through that door? They must not get many people outside the regulars, then. I have been to H Mart in Federal Way and never once got this hassle. I will not continue to shop at a store that singles me out because I don't look like a "repeat" patron. Also, the major credit card companies explicitly prohibit stores from asking for an ID for a signed card. My card had my signature. I will be letting MasterCard know about this location. TL;DR -- if you shop at the Bellevue location and you're not a "usual patron" (I'm black), prepare to be ID'd unnecessarily. read more
