I am trying purchase items before work. I have been standing in line for over 5min. There is only one checkout lane opened. With the slowest checker. Self checkout is not opened. This is ridiculous. This store is difficult to navigate because of overcrowding. There are even bolted on displays protruding into the aisles from store shelves. Lots of valuable floor space is consumed by merchandise displays. This store is frequently too crowded with people to accommodate HQ's demands for marketing displays. I will have a difficult time returning due to the shopping conditions. The location is great, the employees are very helpful. A produce staff member removed all the packages of fresh but moldy berries that I pointed out to him tonight. Thumbs down. read more

I have always been treated respectfully and quickly by the each one of the employees at this particular store and I believe it's because they either just really enjoy their type of jobs or simply the people they work for... Most likely the second from my own experiences with past jobs, so way to go management, it is obvious that you are definitely doing something right! read more

This is for the Redmond Fred Meyer: I have certain expectations from Fred Meyer that it will offer daily fundamentals in grocery as well as household items. I felt this store took a different departure from other Fred Meyers in the area. When the store offers a bigger selection of energy drinks than frozen vegetables then I think it's definitely sending the wrong message. But that might be the market for that area. Either way, other stores can benefit by this marketing decision. I won't be back. read more

I went to the florist a few days ago to get flowers for a friend i was visiting in hospice care. It was the worst experience i've had in fred meyer. She really set the standard for what lousy customer service is. She snapped at me and my mom when we asked her how much a plant is - "i dont know!" - and then repeated it very slowly when i asked how to find out the price. She slammed the scissors on the table when i asked about wrapping options and pulled out two options and said there are no solid colors to pick from. She repeated that slowly while staring at me when i asked about another option. Will never ever buy another plant from there again. Hope whatever was making her speak through her teeth has not made a lasting impact on her life. Terrible terrible experience. read more

This review is for the pharmacy specifically. Absolutely horrible. I've been shopping at this Fred Meyers for years, and have even filled prescriptions here before. The staff is rude at the pharmacy and it is VERY over-priced. For an $11 prescription at one pharmacy, it was $47 at another pharmacy, and Fred Meyers wanted $224 for the exact same prescription. What a joke. I will NEVER fill a prescription there again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

I think the folks that are dissing this place as "sketchy" are way off base. The facts are: it's popular (which is why you hate the parking here and also why it gets remodeled more often), it's frequented by lots of immigrants, especially Microsoft employees from India who "shop" with their wives (and kids too) because in India women aren't as safe alone in public as we are here. Microsoft is known for hiring some of the best and brightest so these folks are certainly smart enough to know where the good deals are. I grew up in a wealthy area and have no problem shopping here several times a week. I've shopped here for over 20 years. My kids loved the play area and the employees were kind and caring. How many other grocery stores can you say that about? I have never seen it dirty, unless you're taking about the spots where they've just moved shelving units around again (my pet peeve) or yet another remodel (which drives me nuts because, yeah, they get more wear and tear traffic because their busier than the other stores, but can't they put things back where they were before?) Their shoes and clothes are good quality for the price (I'm an expert seamstress so I'm qualified to judge) Their electronics department has been very helpful and we've found great deals there. Their bakery has also been very helpful when in a hurry for a last minute birthday cake. They also mix paint here. I love their HD flannel sheets (they don't pill!) but am not a fan of their Everyday Living flannel sheets (they pilled). The only complaint I have, and it's the reason they lost a star from me, is the way they placed the liquor section right across the aisle from the soda pop section. That was done right after WA voters passed the liquor initiative and I think the decision to put that stuff right in the faces of kids who would be buying soda pop is unconscionable. read more

I have been a regular customer of this store for close to 6 months now. This store is clean and well maintained housing large number of items to select from. I have always found the staff working here to be very customer friendly. I went to the store today to buy wiper blades for my vehicle and I was kind of lost in the automobile section. I spoke to Kip who was in-charge of automobile section and I was amazed at the customer service experience that I had with Kip today. Not only Kip helped me pick the right wiper blades, but he also helped me install them on my vehicle. Thanks Kip, you rock. read more

Had a terrible shopping experience in the mens department. I can't afford much in the clothing dept so I tend to shop in the mens jeans,t-shirts. Let me begin with the Sunday advertisement on a sale with Carthartt jeans for 29.99. I did not find any Carthartt jeans. The jeans dept was a bit cluttered it felt like a maze. Of course these days in any store unless you have big bucks to shop at Nordstroms or any of those high end stores were commission is paid to those clerks ....GOOD LUCK with getting ANY help here at F.M. Not only did I not find what I wanted but I tried on 4 pairs of jeans all of them made that retarded "hangs low on the hips" Could not find a "Normal pair" of jeans that would fit right. Which brings me to the fitting rooms. Absent were any sales clerks, there was a sales desk which was empty so I'm standing there not really knowing what to do. Now let me explain something to all you born in the 90's, there was a time when a person was going to the fitting room you brought in no more than say 3 items, the sales clerk gave you a number & either personally showed you which fitting room to go to or she may just say something like "whichever room is available". Now, there is no one there at the fitting rooms which I have to say to you all at Fred Meyer this just isn't a good idea if you get my drift this goes out to the Loss Prevention team there. So, I have my pair of jeans on my arms and I just have no idea what the heck to do! Remember Fred Meyer team members I haven't shopped for any kind of new clothes in years, restrictive budget issues. I'm basically standing around lost. There was a young Mother sitting just outside the rooms but I didn't want to bother her, the young Mom had her hands full with her little boy. FINALLY! it came to me, I had seemed to remember from the last time I was at your store about one year ago that there was a customer service phone that I can pick up to get someone to help. And guess what? That phone wasn't easily visible. Guess where it was at? Located on the front lower panel of the fitting room sales desk! Hey good thing I had some retail experience at Target because I sure wouldn't have known to pick up the phone at all. No signs that I saw to instruct the customers on what to do once they got to the fitting rooms. Let me back up some. Once I got to the fitting rooms, I was clueless on what to do. So I tried to turn the knob on one of the fitting rooms. That door was locked. Based on my past fitting room experiances this told me that I must locate an F.M. employee with a key to come & unlock the door. Now here is what happened once I FOUND THE FITTING RM PHONE. Employee tells me that the Rooms were unlocked. Although I did try one room door which was unlocked the other room door wasn't. Just who is responsible for the fitting rooms anyway? Once I FINALLY found a room that was unlocked, I enter & there is a bunch of clothes all over the room that a previous lazy customer didn't bother to take out to hang up. I cleaned up the fitting room. I'm not happy about my experience at this store. But WAIT! I did have a great cashier who had it on the ball! I was pleaseantly surprised. A young man don't know his name. Sorry Fred Meyer, but you all just need to step up your game. And put some things on sale please. I wish you all luck. read more

I have shopped here a lot for groceries after moving to this part of the country. They have a wide range of products, the staff is very friendly and know exactly how to direct the customers in case of any questions/concerns. Parking is easy too. I have had a bag misplaced here after payment but when I went back to them, they replaced all the items without any hassle!! read more

I've shopped here for the better part of two years (off and on), and had thought of it as your average market, until tonight. I had seen a lamp-set marked down, and in the clearance section on a Saturday, and came back for it the following Sunday. Lamp-set was still there, though shoved underneath their clearance table. When I brought it to the register, it rang up incorrectly and I ended up speaking to the manager. After seeing FOUR distinctly separate prices, I walked away empty-handed because the manager failed to honor the price. The situation was handled well, and the manager was very polite and friendly -- but at the end of the day, the price wasn't honored. I not only feel mislead, but also disappointed because now I am sitting in a lamp-less office writing this review. read more

First time in, no problems. Helpful guy in electronics. Got a surprisingly good deal on a name brand Micro SD card. Second time went to buy a money order. I was wearing sunglasses at the time. My eyes are sensitive, even indoors. The lady at the counter seemed all nervous, so I stepped to the side and waited as she finished. Then 2 of her co-workers rushed to see what was up and both almost ran into me as I left....weird. One side note: some people have mentioned the floors being unfinished. I agree, why the long renovation and skip the floors? If not replace, at least resurface them. It ruins the whole remodel and makes it seem dingy and run down again. read more

Fred Meyer is a one stop shopping place which offers better prices than other grocery stores in term of groceris. (Better then Haggen, Safeway, etc). However, the clothing is definitely a little on the pricey side, so is the other 'home goods' section. It does have quite a few people "wandering" around, but this is my main grocery store and it does have good prices. read more

Love the fact that you can shop for a variety of items and groceries in the same location.What makes me give them a 3 stars rating is this: numerous times while shopping at Fred Meyer they advertise a certain product at 20% or etc off. I have a full cart and from experience I try to pay attention to the price the register is scanning, cashier gets annoyed when I mention a certain item should be off bla bla ba after maybe the second item- why?because the discount only shows at the end of the receipt when you subtotal, not when the item is added. Dumb way of doing it in the first place. As much as I try to be carefulI I always walk away with minimum of $6 to $10 overcharged for items that were suppose to be on sale. My idea of shopping is not to wait 1/2 an hour at customer service, with a young child, for them to check prices and refund me. So more often than not I walk away. I am starting to think it is done willfully because imagine the amount of money they pocket in this kind of situation! read more

I read the other reviews of this store and thought I would check it out tonight. The store was definitely big and had a decent selection of just about everything. But I was disappointed at the prices. They were not as low as I had expected; comparable, in fact, to Safeway. But I was even more disappointed at the customer service. One clerk was stocking product in an aisle and had his cart directly in the center of the aisle. I was the only customer in the aisle as I approached him and he made no effort to move his cart to let me pass. I had to move it for him and when he saw that I did, he didn't even say "excuse me" or "I'm sorry." He said nothing at all, he only looked at me like I was a bother. Then, I approached another associate to ask him where the kitchen appliance section was. I said clearly, "excuse me" and he, like the other, said nothing and just looked at me like I was bothering him. I don't think I will be going there again anytime soon. read more
