Fredcjohnson.com is an honest, efficient shop. I highly recommend their services when needed, especially for seniors. I had a chain driven, 3 sectional rail garage door opener. All my grandchildren complained about its loud noise. I googled and called around many garage door service stores in the Columbia area, Fred Johnson stands out to be the most reasonable choice. Mark and Jeremy came to my house on time and they surveyed the condition to prepare for the replacement components. Their work is meticulous in the eyes of a retired AT&T engineer. When the job is done, the garage is clean under the shinny light of a brand new belt driven opener. What a nice feeling ! read more

Matt and Mark arrived at the time they quoted and got right down to assessing the situation. The garage motor and keypad were here when we moved here in 2001. It was time to be replaced due to not being able to get parts for the old one. In a matter of about 45 minutes they had everything installed and explained the operating of the new motor. This is not the first time we have used this company. They never disappoint. If necessary we will use them again in the future. Thank you for great service. read more

Mark (and Damien) came at the quoted time and did the service on my garage door. They were finished in 45 minutes, and everything went perfectly. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly and I am quite pleased. Price was reasonable and customer service was outstanding. I just recommended your company to a neighbor whose garage door needs servicing. read more

So pleased with Fred C. Johnson Company! I called early in the morning, explained issue with 30 year old garage door, and technician Marc came that same afternoon. Marc was pleasant, knowledgable, thoroughly professional. He made several necessary adjustments and had needed parts/ supplies/ tools on the truck. Thank you so much, Fred C. Johnson Co! I highly recommend. read more

Wow! What great service! I consulted Yelp, of course, and decided to go with this company because other people mentioned that the service was good and their prices were the most reasonable. So happy I did. When you call, a real person answers the phone. They sent Mark out the same afternoon and he replaced my garage torsion spring in less than an hour's time. It's been 2 weeks and the garage is working great. Highly recommend this company for anyone looking for garage repair work. read more

Our garage door spring broke, they came within 2.5 hrs which was amazing and fixed us right up. Total including lube was $390. We were so happy to be able to get our cars out! read more

What a pleasure it was to deal with the honest professionals at Fred C. Johnson, Co. Inc., in Jessup, Maryland. Colleen gave me a quote on the phone for exactly the cost of a new logic board for my 2013 Chamberlain whisper drive garage door opener, and how much the labor would be to put it in. And she even quoted me the cost of a new replacement garage door unit, should it be discovered that I needed one in a worst case scenario (the cost was very reasonable). Especially since I had a technician from another company with nearly the same name come earlier in the day who said, that I definitely needed a NEW unit, that he could put in for $900. When I balked at that, the price went down to $800 (still way more than the cost at Fred C. Johnson, Co. Inc.). I had to pay a small fee for an unused service call to get the guy from the other company to leave. After that, I thought about trying to order this part online and replace the logic board myself, but it turned out the part was cheaper from Fred C. Johnson Co. Inc. Garage Doors, and the cost of installation was well worth letting them do the job. So happy that I took a chance after the first technician from the other company left, and called Fred C. Johnson, Co, Inc.. IT WAS A MISTAKE TO CALL JOHNSON GARAGE DOORS earlier. DO NOT CALL THEM!! THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM PEOPLE INTO USING THEM BY USING A SIMILAR NAME to Fred C. Johnson, Co. Inc. MAKE SURE YOU CALL FRED C. JOHNSON CO., INC , GARAGE DOORS. When their technician came out, it turned out that the logic board wasn't the problem. A travel module was needed. I was informed that the travel module was half the cost of the new logic board that I didn't need after all, so the technician put the original back in with the new travel module. The door works perfectly now. The technician also tweaked the tension on my door springs/coils because it needed adjusting. THANK YOU AGAIN, FRED C. JOHNSON CO., INC. read more

I had a broken garage door spring. I got quotes from five different local garage door repair. Fred C. Johnson was 25%-50% lower than any other, making it half the price of one company. They arrived at their promised time and completed the job during the estimated time. Moreover, they installed a higher quality spring set than the one they quoted yet honored their quote. I expected to hear the old story.... your unit requires this more expensive spring than what we quoted. This was not the case. If you need springs replaced, then I recommend Fred C. Johnson. read more

Need a new garage door opener. Called around to get estimates, and these folks had the most reasonable package, when it came to quality and features versus cost. The folks that came out to the the installation were pleasant to work with, and did a nice, neat job, installing the new opener, and the associated hardware and wiring. This is a solid, local company for any of your garage door needs. read more

Rob Johnson just left my house and I am writing 5 star reviews on every site I can! What a nice young man!! He fixed my garage door after 2 other companies said it was unfixable. I was all ready to spend lots of money on a new one but now I don't have to. And what Rob charged was very reasonable for the 45 minutes he was here. Plus He was so knowledgeable. #Great small local company! read more

Great service call. Super friendly and helpful. Explained in great detail. Fixed the issues with the garage door.

although I had contracted with Fred C. Johnson for other garage door issue, the firmnwas not available to help with a garage door opener problem. That was a real limitatio. read more

I contacted this company after finding them on BBB. Rebecca responded to my emails and really helped me out. I know nothing about how garage door openers work, and Rebecca made some suggestions of how to fix the issue through email correspondence. She didn't have to offer her expertise for free. I would have paid for an estimate. If I ever need help with my garage door, I know who to call. This company definitely above average and not out to just get your money--so rare these days. Thank you Rebecca! read more

Called late this morning with a broken spring to our garage door. Dave arrived at 230pm replaced the spring and the door was functional within the hour. Great service. Friendly, efficient and cost effective! Spring was $65 To send some one out SAME DAY and labor for the first hour was $144 Total $209 Calling Fred C. Johnson from now on. Thanks Dave! read more

Excellent response time, very professional, great repair, fair price. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend!

I have used this company on several different properties and it was always a good and professional experience. Very responsive and did what they promised. read more

They installed our 3 doors 15 years ago and we have had them back multiple times to fix various maintenance issues that have come up, none of them their fault. Last night the spring broke on a door and they came out the next day to repair, 6 days before Christmas. Excellent customer service. We would not call anyone else. read more

I've called Fred Johnson a couple of times now. The most recent involved a broken door I had repaired myself, but I was convinced I had threaded the cable incorrectly or done something else that would ultimately break the door beyond repair. They came out the day we called. The technician looked the door over and said my repair was fine and told my wife there was nothing for him to do. He did not charge us for the call. Now (1) he could have told my wife a repair was required and she would have absolutely agreed and (2) she offered to pay anyway but he didn't even charge us for his time to come out. So the very least I can do is leave a glowing Yelp review. This is the company you want to come out and take care of your garage door. read more
